Needed a wood stove installed and searched North Bay area for a qualified WETT person. Chris Wood Heat Services came up, so I called him. Answered immediately and came out to my place the next day. Had great ideas for install, brought in stove from shed. Went to buy all the required piping within a week, then installed the next. Great service, great efficiency and very reasonable price. Chris Wood Heat Services performed an initial W.E.T.T. Inspection on our cottage's wood stoves, and provided a thorough assessment to bring the units up to code. He provided a comprehensive plan and instructions to do necessary changes ourselves and advice as to obtaining new units and supplies. Upon completion he performed final inspection and a detailed report. He was extremely knowledgeable and eager to assist in any way. His service was prompt and professional. After a quick search for WETT inspectors, Chris came up on my online search. He answered right away, took the time to explain everything to us. We were dealing with a wood stove that was not installed correctly and shouldn't have passed a WETT inspection. Chris gave us our options for our new Wood stove Install. Excellent communication, prompt service and quality work. 10/10 It was time for a new wood stove in the house. Called Chris Wood Heat Services out of the blue, he discussed my stove choice (a 500 lb Drolet HT3000) with me after reviewing the specifications and agreed that it was going to be good choice. I had it delivered from ***, got it to the front door and arranged for Chris Wood Heat Services to install a few days later as I was going out of town. Due to a nasty weather forecast, later that day he suggested that he come earlier to get it done just in case. He picked up the parts necessary for the install and the next day it was installed and I had a new WETT certificate for the insurance company that evening. Could not ask for better service. Even better, the old stove was outside covered under a tarp.

We asked Chris Wood Heat Services for a WETT inspection but received much more. He arrived promptly and assessed our chimney carefully. A full report of what he found was provided as expected. He also provided advice and suggestions on how we could remediate an issue with our chimney in a cost effective manner. As we are new to the area, he also provided the name of a respected mason who he felt would be ideal for the job. Subsequent calls to Chris Wood Heat Services were answered warmly and he always provided excellent guidance.

Chris Wood Heat Services was the best to work with for WETT certification of our new cottage. Tried another local guy and he was wanting to charge lots of money for refitting chimney, walls, floors, etc. to make the old stove pass. Called Chris Wood Heat Services and he suggested buying a used stove with a Certification tag for a few hundred dollars. Then he told us what to do and suggested a telescoping section of single wall chimney inside the cottage for easy cleaning for $70 and even helped install it on his final inspection. Chris Wood Heat Services is happy to help you certify your installation in your favor, not to charge thousands of dollars to retrofit everything for his gain!
