These people are totally unethical - do not ever go there! They try to tell you that you have major dental problems and want to charge you way above and beyond what your insurance covers. Stupidly, I went there twice thinking the same thing would not happen the second time-wrong. They tried to tell me I had major dental problems and they could only do special procedures to help fix the issues. I went elsewhere and surprisingly - no problems. I filed a complaint with the BBB and they did absolutely nothing about helping me! I think everyone who has ever had an issue with them should file a complaint with the attorney general's office to stop their unethical, fraudulent practices. It is not fair they try to take advantage of the average consumer!.

The same thing happened to me and agree, everyone on here should be filing a complaint with the BBB . These charges above and beyond what the insurance covers are insane . Nickle and dime dentist office, but its more like hundreds being taken for mouth wash

Coast Dental is like going to a used car dealership. They try to UPSELL you on a bunch of things you don't need, then con you into doing things that your insurance would cover, but they code it in ways they don't because they can charge us more than the insurance company allows them to charge. This company is a complete CON and should not be considered by anyone. Find a good local dentist that still cares about people and doesn't put profits before people. I would never, ever go back to this profit hungry healthcare provider. Just another example of how GREED is destroying the American health care system.

I can not believe how many patients have the same complaints-insulting and bullies about money, bed side manner and language fowl while working on patients, AND because they messed up their work, my sixteen year old son's front tooth is messed up for life...HOW can they not have any consequences!

Worse experience ever. First they were running 2-3 hours behind when I asked how long the wait would be the dental hygienist Lilliana told me I could reschedule which was rude being it’s their responsibility to inform patients of any delays. After waiting so long I then was told I’m a new patient although I’ve been seen at their other location so unnecessary x rays were done and billed to my insurance because they failed to tell me when I scheduled the appointment I would be considered a new patient which would have allowed me to schedule at my normal facility. Next I was put in a room to have my cleaning done that was filthy I will attach pictures below. The office only had one hygienist so unfortunately the rude lilliana was it. She came in did my exam then proceeded to diagnose me without even consulting with a doctor first. When I called her out on it she then tried changing her verbiage. Lilliana then told me that I would need a deep cleaning which I told her I would like to decline being I’ve had it done before and it cause issues with my gums and teeth and that I would like to utilize my patient rights and request a regular cleaning which líana then told me she couldn’t put her license on the line which is so wrong. My request as a patient has nothing to do with her license. That’s just like a patient choosing not to have chemo and their doctor refusing to see them because of their decision of their own health. Then I finally was able to speak with a doctor via zoom wow. Of course liliana spoke with her first so the doctor made her decision beige speaking with me and said the same exact thing her hygienist stated. I requested a regular cleaning and was declined again. I spoke with the manager and it went no where. I will be following up with this and getting my message out this is wrong. Patients have rights and just because I’m the last patient and you want to go home does not give you the right to lie and be unprofessional including the doctor that didn’t even understand what I was saying due to her language barrier.

I went there also, supposedly my insurance covered work done there. However when I went there they said that I needed a deeper scaling which surprisingly wasn't covered by my insurance! So I went through all the deep cleanings and then came back in 6 months for a regular cleaning only to find out that now they can never do a regular cleaning on me since they did the deep scalings they have to put it in as periodontal maintenance! I worked at a dentist for 12 years I know this is not true! So even though they take my insurance, a cleaning will never again be covered by my insurance because my insurance doesn't cover the periodontal maintenance only a regular cleaning! There is never a doctor in the office, I only had a virtual visit with the doctor all it is is a bunch of hygienists doing deep cleanings and getting a whole lot of money they don't deserve

I went to Coast Dental after not having seen a dentist for almost 2 years due to lapses in insurance, covid, etc. It was the only dentist in town covered by my insurance (which is weird because I work for the state and they have very good benefits). I had to wait an excessive amount of time to be seen. Then since I was a new patient they did a TON of xrays and the equipment was ancient. I think even when I was a child 20+ years ago the equipment was better back then. The first set of xrays done standing up didn't even work, like images didn't upload and they didn't even bother to do it again, but I'm sure billed insurance anyways. the next 18 xrays were taken in the most disgusting room I've seen at a doctor office. The hygienist came in and proceeded to tell me I had gum disease as a diagnosis, there was no doctor, only a quick zoom call where she informed the doctor of the issue and told the doctor that I was going to have to do a treatment that would cost thousands that I would have to continue for the rest of my life (I am only 26). "Luckily" my insurance covered most but I still had to finance a plan over 6 months of almost $1000. This all happened extremely fast. Like within 10 minutes I was pressured into signing this and committing. When I went for the cleaning I obviously knew I had build up, it had been 2 years. But it was obvious when we went to the next room they PUSH this treatment on so many patients. There are posters, flyers, before and after photos, merchandise, etc. with the brand name of the treatment provider. I asked the hygienist how bad it was and she points to a before and after and says that I was at the same stage as the person in the AFTER PHOTO. It literally is a scam. I have had very good luck with teeth. No cavities ever, not even as a child. And had regular cleanings my entire life except the past two years. I floss and brush with an electric brush and it is amazing that suddenly I have this serious issue. Stay away from this chain they prey on people.

EDIT: It is worth stating that I got a second opinion from a dentist that has been practicing for over 25 years and she said I had no signs on gum disease, only light buildup. I asked if it could have been resolved after the hygienist cleaned my teeth and she said gum disease wouldn't be from a routine cleaning. Indicating I did not have it in the first place.

I was at Coast Dental yesterday. There were 7 of us sitting in the lobby. A lovely gentleman comes out wearing a shirt that says " 90 years of love, Happy Birthday". I was watching his interaction with the receptoinist b/c he was so sweet. She says that will be 1000.00 for today. When he looked stunned, she said" insurance paid for your extraction, but not your bone graft."

Why wasn't he told this in advance?! His hand was shaking when he gave his credit card and she exclaimed in a loud voice "your card was declined, try another one". I was so mortified that they would scam this man like that. They probably also haven't told him that insurance does not pay for an implant. When he turned around to leave, I could see tears in his eyes. This is the same office that wanted to remove a 5 tooth bridge and give me dentures b/c I have a hard time flossing under bridge. I am so disgusted with these vultures. They only care about money, not people.
