perfect golf game
i think this is probably the best golf game i've ever played the maps are small but different and the lily pad when you fall into the water is great. the only problem is that you can hit the ball to where you want to go the randomness of each shot is crazy i cant tell you how many times i aimed the driver to bounce off a tree just for the ball to go way the wrong way into water like i understand a little randomness with each shot but its like im kicking the golf ball every time it makes hole in 1 virtually impossible unless you get lucky
Great Game. Just 1 Recommendation
This game is great and I love how it’s a new course everyday. The only thing I would change would be the ability to replay a course over and over. There have been plenty of times where I’ll play a course, send my score to my friends, then somehow by some miracle the same friend keeps getting “lucky” hole in 1’s in every hole and they end up in the top 1%. Once in awhile is lucky, but everytime? I’m not sure. I think only your first score should count (unless you want to watch an ad for a 2nd attempt) however, if you are someone who just keeps resetting the app everytime you don’t get a score you like, I feel like there should be an indicator in that persons scorecard that it is not a legitimate attempt. Maybe if they attempt a course more than twice they don’t get the “top ___%” icon at the end of their score? Not sure, but just a suggestion! Other than that one minor issue this game is fantastic and my family loves playing and sending our scores to eachother. 10/10.
Great game that has unharnessed potential
I love the game and its concept. It is very simple and that is enjoyable. I think one thing that could greatly improve the game is a daily leaderboard and maybe an all time leaderboard. This could be used to give the players more incentive to play everyday. Also in the future a currency could be added and leaderboard placement could effect how much currency could be made from a player that day. Maybe weekly course and things like that could be added but I understand it is hard to add all of this stuff. Great game.

Pros
- Innovative Theme: Coffee Golf stands out with its coffee-inspired aesthetic, which is a fresh take on the traditional golf game genre. The unique theme can attract both coffee lovers and golf enthusiasts looking for a new twist on a familiar concept.
- Easy to Learn, Hard to Master: The game is designed to be accessible to players of all skill levels. It offers intuitive controls that are easy for beginners to pick up, while still providing challenging levels that require strategic thinking and precision, keeping more experienced players engaged.
- Relaxing Gameplay: With its casual gameplay style, Coffee Golf is a great game for relaxation and unwinding. The coffee elements add to the soothing atmosphere, making it a perfect pastime for players looking to de-stress.
- Regular Updates: Shallot Games is known for keeping their games fresh with regular updates. This means players can expect new courses, features, and challenges to keep the gameplay experience exciting and engaging over time.
- Community and Support: Coffee Golf may have a supportive and active community where players can share tips, celebrate high scores, and even compete against each other. Additionally, Shallot Games' customer support is responsive, ensuring that any issues players encounter are addressed promptly.
-
Cons
- Limited Content Variety: If Coffee Golf has a limited number of levels, game modes, or customization options, players might find the game lacks replay value. This can be a significant drawback for users who are looking for a game with long-term engagement.
- Monetization Strategy: If the game includes in-app purchases or advertisements, it might detract from the user experience, especially if these monetization strategies are perceived as aggressive or necessary for progression. Users often prefer a one-time purchase or a reasonable subscription model over constant upselling.
- Technical Performance: Any issues with the game's performance, such as long loading times, frequent crashes, or bugs, can be a major con. Players expect a smooth and responsive gaming experience, and technical problems can quickly lead to frustration and negative reviews.
- User Interface and Accessibility: If the game's user interface is not intuitive or lacks accessibility features, it can be a barrier for some players. Accessibility is an increasingly important aspect of game design, and a lack of options for players with disabilities or those who prefer different control schemes can be a downside.
Love it!
I normally don’t leave reviews on games or apps but I felt I needed to for this game. I am absolutely addicted. The art for the game is simplistic and cartoony which gives the game an arcade feeling which is extremely fun and relaxing. The way I describe the game to friends I share it with is it is basically Wordle but with golf.
One recommendation I would like the developers to implement is the ability to make a friends list where you can compare your score to friend’s scores each day I think it would add some competitiveness to the game.
Wind vs. RNG
I love this app and the social aspect with different challenges everyday. Very fun concept and game. Biggest change I would make would be removing the RNG and adding some sort of wind element. That way the wind can be more of an educated guess instead of completely random. For a game based around creativity and skill and optimizing the strokes used for each hole, a completely random element ruins most of the game. Getting a hole in one can be immediately erased by some insane errant shot that is no where close to where you aimed. Driver is used on most hole, so opting for shorter “more accurate” clubs is not viable. Perhaps making the RNG circle much smaller would help as well.
Small Suggestion
The accuracy buff that was released last week is great and was definitely needed, though it can be fairly annoying on water based maps sometimes. My suggestion is to increase the “horizontal” accuracy meaning that the ball is less likely to fly off to the left or to the right into a tree/water. The “vertical” accuracy is fine and I don’t have any issues with it.
Another suggestion I have is to make the holes slightly visible through trees similarly to how the shot line is.
Great concept but unsatisfying game play
The other day me and one of my friends stumbled upon this game while something to play together. The daily aspect instantly captured us and for the last week or so we have been playing and sharing our scores with each other religiously. It was until now that I realized the random nature that the driver and the wedge rely on. I understand what the game is going for but this makes the gameplay feel unrewarding for being good at the gameplay. I feel like there are other ways the mechanics could be laid out to make the gameplay feel more fun and less random. But overall I love playing your game and I am excited to see where it goes.
Fun, but has a serious problem
This game very enjoyable and addicting. But it was one MAJOR issue. The ball randomness. Either make it where the severity of how random the trajectory of ball is based on the skill of a player or just make it known with a little wind mph icon somewhere on the screen. Because if I messing up and it’s something I can control, then fine, it’s on me to figure out how to fix it and then apply. But if you’re just randomly penalizing players for no apparent reason then it just pushes away players who want to actually become skilled at the game. I understand not everyone wants to go try-hard on a game that is meant to be relaxing, but you have a leaderboard. The whole point of a leaderboard is to encourage competition and the improvement of players at your game. And as of right now, there is only a certain limit ampler can reach on how they can get because there is this randomness that they can’t predict or control. Fix this and this game will be big.
Love the game, people complain too much
I’ve been looking for a golf game like this for a while. A simple arcade like game to share with friends that doesn’t take forever to play. Aside from a couple glitches where the ball will stop out of nowhere while rolling, almost like it hit a bump, there isn’t much I would change about this game. I love the added friends section! I think it would be cool to show the friends first attempt and their best attempt for that particular day. That would help with the not so honest friends who mysteriously get consistent hole in ones!
As for the back half of my title, people complain too much, I’m talking to the people complaining about shot variability. Yeah it can be wild sometimes but that’s golf. After playing one hole, you learn to take more conservative shots. I still consistently get in the top 10% while taking those less risky shots. All it takes is a little more thought into what order to play the holes and realizing that your ball will land anywhere within the white circle at the end of your shot trajectory. The further the shot, the higher the chance is of it being wild. If you’re looking for a golf game that you can control every single aspect of what the ball does, this might not be the game for you. If you’re looking for a quick golf game to play with your friends, this is definitely it.
Love the concept, changes still needed
Love the concept and got a fair number of people playing. Downloaded the newest version with more accuracy (miss the cozy coffee cup icon), doesn’t fix the problems. I dont mind there’s some drift in the shot -IF- I get to have a sense of how. Wind direction flags in other golf games at least inform me how it’ll drift, so I have a chance of compensating, instead of it being a complete and arbitrary surprise each shot. I cant adjust my shot to get more accurate each time. Not fun to be not informed. // This pairs poorly with extreme bounce in your only long distance shot having tremendous bounce on tiny platforms and islands. Other golf games have a topspin/backspin to control bounce, if the goal is to make you land on a smaller/more accurate platform. Everyone ive shared it with complains about endless water shots resetting your position, with little to be done about it. // Give us some sense of how the ball will drift so we have a chance to adjust and plan our shot, and give us a way to control the bounce distance if the intention is to have lots of small platforms but only 3 clubs. I’d have no real complaints after that. Golf is fun for precision and planning, and the -unpredictable- drift and limited bounce control take away from that. Everyone ive shared it with voiced the same problems with it - wanting to get better at controlling their shot but having no ability to improve.
Fun but needs fine tuning
The game is overall great. Fun concept, fun gameplay on paper but actually somewhat aggravating. I think some tweaks are needed.
1. Shot randomness is too variable and can make your ball wildly unpredictable, turning this game away from a skill-based game. Changing to a meter for shot accuracy would be better and allow for more skill-based gameplay
2. The maps are frustrating. Why is there so much water? I feel like an occasional pond or lake would be nice, but tiny aggravating islands makes for frustrating gameplay
3. The driver controls / indicator is misleading and frustrating to use, especially with the larger bodies of water. The ball bounces WILDLY, and I’m assuming the ball is going to land and stay within the pictured circle when it almost always does not, often landing in the water. I fully understand that the circle is just where the ball “could” land (randomness factor) but my brain doesn’t work that way. I then have to either greatly undershoot where I want the ball to end up or try to bounce the ball off something like a or a ridge. If there is a large body of water to cross (item #2 above), it makes me almost fully reliant on the lilly pads that spawn in after landing in the water, which is no fun. I should be able to make those shots without going into the water. I think if you fix item #2 above, it could lead to this point being almost fully resolved.
Fun at first, then just annoying
The first few days were fun - felt like I was getting the hang of the clubs and how far the ball would bounce or roll. I loved the different courses and the simplicity. After day 4 or 5, I started getting frustrated. There was no way to guess whether the same shot in the same direction would behave the same or not. I don’t think I’ve sunk a shot that wasn’t with the putter and already on the green. It just became a punishing exercise in frustration.
I’m on day 15 or so of playing and I’m deleting the app now. It’s not worth the small amount of rage I feel when playing.
Quick & Simple is the Point
Coffee Golf is intended to be a simple, stripped down, quick play game. It isn’t intended to compete with the complex, high end golf games. Its charming simplicity is what makes it unique.
That being said, Coffee Golf might benefit from a little more complexity than it currently has. There’s no fine ball control, and ball flight is inconsistent, which can be a little frustrating. Plenty of reviewers have offered suggestions for more ball control, so I won’t go into details, but I will say that some additional ball control and/or information would make the game more enjoyable without taking away from its simple charm.
-CONCERNING THE SCORING ISSUE: There are two types of players: 1) People who play for free. 2) People who paid for the app. If you’re playing a game that’s completely free, how can you complain about unfair scoring attempts? If you play the game regularly, then pay the few bucks and have the same number of attempts as everyone else who supports the game.
-NOTE: Thanks to the developers for adding the calendar with stats and replayable previous rounds. It’s a fun game that I keep coming back to. Keep making it even better.
Amazing concepts - a few suggestions
This concept is very original and complete. Compete with friends everyday on a small 5 hole course. A couple suggestions I had:
So much potential for different landscapes. I’m thinking snow, desert, jungle, tropical, etc etc the same scenery gets a bit boring after a while as there is just one tree design.
Adding wind. As long as the wind is the same direction and speed for everyone I think it would add a fun element to the game.
I do notice the shot randomness and it’s tricky to figure out exactly where a shot goes. If this could be dialed in or even just a small sway in the aim line to suggest places it could land would be sweet.
Solid game but shot randomness is a problem
I’ve been playing this game for about a week and love it. The game design is beautiful and I enjoy the simplicity of it. It’s what drew me to this game in the first place. My only complaint is the shot randomness especially with my driver. With so much water it’s very easy to hit your ball in the water with your driver due to just the randomness of it. Since there is a leaderboard (WHICH I LOVE!) I think that the randomness should be less on the shot to where I can control it. Other than that you have a beautiful game and a even better concept. The shot randomization and me not being able to control it is just frustrating especially when going for the leaderboard.
Zero accuracy and control
Do you like precision and accuracy? Do you like to be able to control the game? Do you like consistency in gaming? Well then this ISN'T the game for you.
You select one of 3 clubs, the aim AAAAAND the ball goes wherever the game wants it to, grab the driver and hit a long perfect drive or a weird creoles
Shot that bounces off invisible obstacles. Grab the putter line up your shot pull back AAAAAND it goes long or short depending on how the game decides. The only thing you truly control is the direction you hit, NOTHING else is up to you.
I paid to play the unlimited levels. I regret it. This is BY FAR, the worst controlled game and has ZERO actual physics. It’s hit and hope. If I wanted that I’d go play real golf.
New Update is Ruining the Experience
New look update seems to have come with an update to the randomness of the ball when chipping and driving. Being unable to predict where the ball will do is an extreme detriment to the game. I know it’s more realistic but this is an app and a game with physics this wonky shouldn’t have that level of luck to it. Your ball goes off mark and you clip and tree and your ball gains momentum somehow and flies off the map.
Will be deleting this ad generator soon if this persists.
Could be better
In my opinion, this app has a lot of potential but two main issues.
First, there’s an “invisible wall” bug where the ball will randomly hit an invisible wall and change direction. I’ve encountered this every time I play the past few days.
Second, the random aiming with every shot is not fun especially for a game incentivizing getting a low score. The player should be able to aim their shots precisely using some other gameplay mechanic such as a meter seen in other golf games.
Coffee Golf: Where It’s Better to be Lucky Than Good
I have played this game religiously for about a week now - at its core, it is a REALLY good game. That is captured in many reviews and is immediately obvious after playing for just a few minutes.
However, the largest element of this game - and one that is nearly gamebreaking, imo - is it’s current level of RNG (also captured in a many reviews).
Once you have enough time in this game, it is glaringly obvious how little control you actually have over your shots, and that is extremely disheartening.
Seems like they plan to release a new mode that is more skill based, and I plan to revisit this review once they do.
Simple game with a quick learning curve
I cant attest to other players' experience with shot "randomness". I do, however, think that the start of the course should always be oriented toward a pin, though. Day 29 was oriented backwards on start, which was a little weird. If I've selected a club, zoom in, and switch clubs, don't zoom me back out. A few subtle eggs in the game might add some fun to it too. Example, if I hit a tree, some birds might fly out of it; or if I hit a water hazard a few consecutive times, a frog might hop across the lilly pads. If I make the top N% for the day, the ribbon/badge might need some explanation. Last, can I ever see/replay a previous course?
Edit: Collision detection for the pin is a little goofed. On rare occasion, the pin will rise at the time the ball is on an arc, and may abruptly stop in the air--completing its bounces, but stopping any advancement.
Coffee Golf Complaints 10
Fun concept, bad controls
I like the aesthetic and concept, but the controls leave a lot to be desired. The ball is very hard to tap on to start dragging, especially when putting, and the aiming line is never accurate in the slightest. You’ll aim right for a hole and the ball will go flying twenty feet to the right of it with no rhyme or reason whatsoever. Overall, needs work.
Could be great
The concept of the game is amazing. A simple 5 hole battle each day. After that it gets dicey. You have to use the same 3 clubs over and over with a massive circle as your possible destination. The circle for the driver is bigger than 2 greens so only god knows where your ball will land. The wedge goes no where and is as accurate as the driver. The putter is the worst. Absolutely no power indicator, and you can’t even see your line through trees so your shooting from a side view, good luck with that. “Trees” are floating green rocks. Hit one and you could literally ricochet to the opposite side of the course. If you fall under one, you have to putt out from under it…. How asinine could this game be? Fix all this and maybe I’ll play the game again.
Needs some improvements…
This game has a ton of potential. Biggest problem I have is that the physics of the game are extremely inconsistent. Think your shot is straight? HA. Joke is on you. Because it will curve while in flight or it’ll magically bounce slightly off to one side or the other.
Putting it the only thing consistent with this game.
One thing I would like to see a daily scoreboard ranking. As a user, I wanted to see where I stood each day compared to others. Instead, it would only tell you if you scored in the top 50%, 25%, or 10%.
Though, in the end, I presume none of this matters. Mostly because the developer will just focus on the positive reviews, since they clearly outweigh the negative reviews. Therefore, those of us that are unhappy with certain features will be ignored. I understand that. Why fix something only a small group of people are complaining about?
And, for the record, I played this game daily for a month. So, I feel that I gave it a “fair shake” before leaving a review.

Garbage
You get to play one time per day. There is only one course. Each day the course changes slightly, but it’s always roughly the same setup. The controls are some of the worst I’ve experienced in many years of mobile app gaming. There’s no telling where your ball will go or whether it will hit one of the many trees. Not only is that unpredictable, there’s no way to improve your game. Whether your big, sloppy shot hits a tree or not will always be 50/50. I wish I could give this 0 stars. Don’t waste your time. The developers should be ashamed of themselves for being so unbelievably lazy and greedy. People like this are ruining mobile gaming. Shame, shame, shame.
One major detail ruining potential hit
Game is a great concept, enjoyable and simple, but the shot variability pulls any user out of enjoying it to its full potential. My friends and I all played and tried to outdo the best score but we all quickly got sick of how inaccurate shots were. It’s one thing to have wind or something like that where the player can factor that into there shot, but that’s not the case here.
Kaizo Golf
It looks innocent enough, but it’s seriously just golf: chaos edition. You aim your shot but the guideline doesn’t have anything to do with your aim. The actual trajectory of the ball is somewhere within the colossal circle that is the landing zone.
Essentially you can aim a shot in the exact same place 100 times and get 100 different outcomes. It’s less golf than it is a slot machine.
humble opinions
Game has a ton of potential but holy balls. Ultra sensitive and the controls are dog poop. trying to get those balls up on those little hills makes me wanna rip out all of my hair. why am i wasting like 10 shots trying to shoot the ball soooooo perfectly with just the right amount of force up on that hill. very very frustrating. would be a lot more fun if i didn’t wanna die while playing it.
Below avg and gets worse with use
Concept = good
Visuals = great
Replayability = has potential, even with the ads
My primary issue is the lack of consistent shot components. The wedges are sometimes launching and sometimes just high arca with no way to adjust. Thats what golf is lol sometimes hit a 9iron long or lob it, but there is no way to differntiate those shots. Same issue with putts. Some just launch despite small/minimal release points.
Tldr; after a few plays you like it. After multiple plays you get frustrated with the inconsistent gameplay of the functionality. Shame, uninstalled
Terrible RNG game
This app would be competing for the #1 spot as the top golf game in the App Store if it weren’t for the terrible RNG with the driver club and iron club. Every 2 or 3 shots the ball tends to veer way off target from where you were aiming. This takes it from being a skill based game to a complete shot in the dark which ruins the competitive aspect of the game. I fear that the developers might have implemented this into the code as a tactic to squeeze more retries out of their supporters which is such a tacky practice for such a polished looking game. You guys would have much more retries and attempts if the game were actually skill based. Your pushing players away with the RNG aspect. I would never recommend this to a friend as it would cause them more headaches than enjoyment. As it is now it’s a simple back of the box game.
Inappropriate Ads
For a game that boasts that children 4+ can play they really shouldn’t have ads showing sexual content in any form . Maybe toy ,Pokémon , video game ads would be 100% better and not make the devs look like they’re supporting showing inappropriate topics to children.
