Ripping off students
Coleman University is a very expensive college that will gladly take all your money that is supposed to be paying for a top quality education, BUT in reality Coleman will NOT teach you jack diddly squat about Computers, Although at Coleman YOU WILL learn how to punch out mass amounts of APA written papers, until even the word or mention of an APA paper will make you want to vomit. As a current student whom has never failed a course within Coleman curriculum it amuses me that some of my Coleman colleagues can be so hypocritical and judgmental toward students that may have a hard time learning in a particular class, by writing them off as lazy.(isn't that the entire reason why we go to college? to actually learn? But to in order learn you must be taught!), yet at Coleman they do NOT teach. Furthermore nine times outa ten you are treated or talked down to, as you are expected to know all the answers already. So if any student at Coleman is paying as much as $1, 300 just for one measly 4 unit class then DAMN Right the school has a responsibility to actually offer help, and take genuine, interest in NOT allowing a student who is struggling just to be written off as collateral damage.
Instead the cold truth and reality is that Coleman's dropout rate is very high as students daily and on a regular basis are left to fall by the wayside, and heaven forbid a student actually struggles. You practically have to write your local congressman just to be given a fair chance at passing a difficult class. in where every two minutes your computer breaks down when your trying to do a lab, so more than half the time your mandatory labs will not even work on their old and ### equipment, YET you as the student will FAIL and have to repay thousands if you cannot complete the mandatory labs.(as of recent, now their mandating new classes that require a lab but don't offer an official lab day, which is a set up for failure!).
When I signed up at Coleman a year ago, I was assured that I would receive state of the art Hands on Training within the I.T field, Which all current Coleman students know is a flat out lie!( and now they are targeting veterans! They just want that $$$)
I am so deeply vested into Coleman curriculum that I can't jump ship now, YET for any all students whom are looking and thinking about investing their $40, 000 just for an Associate's degree, You may want to do some real research and listen carefully and cautiously to what current full time Coleman students are saying! That will WARN you not to waste your valuable TIME and MONEY on an Institution that gives a rats ### about your future or whether or not you succeed in your pursuit of attaining Real Marketable Computer skills and knowledge in order to properly prepare you into getting a job in your particular field of study. Instead are we being forced to write thousands of papers at a TECHNOLOGY SCHOOL as though we enrolled at a school for journalism, or to become profound research writers! All for the sake that maybe, one glorious day Coleman shall be nationally accredited. In the meantime it's corporate cutthroat as usual at Coleman, as we the struggling STUDENT are treated with zero respect, lower then pond ###!

Coleman University
Hi, I went to Coleman for year in Computer Networking. Like the another blogger has already said the credits
to the other schools like the Kaplan's, etc. are non transferable to a real College. For me that doesn't make any sense at all to go to Coleman College, etc. Why spend xxx of dollars if you can't transfer the credits over to a real school like SDSU, etc ? And of course they don't tell you that, you find about that after the fact. So since they don't tell you that, all they care about is $$$ and nothing else ! ! ! And I would hazard to guess that the uop's, etc are all like that. And the Certificate that you will receive once you complete the so called Coleman College, University of Phoenix, etc course or any other school like the other rip off schools out there . You might as well wipe you ### with it because, that's all it's worth. That is some very expensive toilet paper.
Would I go there again if I had to had a choice to do it over again ? Hell no. Brian.
My son had the idea that he would be able to make a living designing websites. This belief was encouraged by Coleman and they even hinted that they would help him find a job - there are no jobs. Each time he would complete a course, Coleman would add more courses that seemed more applicable. This only strung out the process while never reaching the gold ring that would provide self-sufficiency. Now he has completely changed work fields but is left with a huge student loan debt. To me, it seems that Coleman should be liable for breach of promise. My contact information is ronaldcrow@cs.com let me know what you think. Ron
I agree, the same exact situation happened with my son. The same promises were made to him which never materialized. During his time there, the guidance, instruction, and teaching seemed to be more of an experiment than an actual learning process. You cannot simply reveal a few tools to someone without properly teaching them how to use them, much less promise to line them up into a job in that area, which is exactly what they did. Now, he is unemployed, struggling, and deeply depressed due to the enormous debt hanging over his head which he has no means of paying back. Kevinjgeorge@cox.net
Look what I put in my complaint to (OIG) Office of Inspector General.
THE SCHOOL ADVERTIZES BEING VETERAN FRIENDLY, THEY LIE ABOUT CREDITS NOT BEING ABLE TO TRANSFER TO OTHER STATE COLLEDGES OR WASC ACCREDITED SCHOOLS.
THEY LOVE TO TAKE GIBILL AND TUITION ASSISTANCE MONEY, BUT DO NOT PROVIDE ANY DISABLED LEARNING DISABILITY ASSISTANCE OR VETERANS ASSISTANCE TO HELP US BE SUCCESSFUL WHILE ENROLLED AT SCHOOL.
WE ARE SEEKING ASSISTANCE WITH DEPRESSION, PTSD, TBI, COGNITIVE IMPAIRMENT LEARNING DISABILITIES THAT ARE DOCUMENTED BY THE VA OFFICE AND WE PROVIDE THE SCHOOL WITH DOCUMENTATION AS THEY ASK, BUT STILL DO NOT PROVIDE SUPPORT. (EXAMPLE; CPL BRIAN MARKLE USMC RET. WAS DEALING WITH MANY MEDICAL SERVICE CONNECTED ISSUES, HE ASKED THE SCHOOL FOR HELP AND THEY DENIED HIM NUMEROUS TIMES. HE WAS DROPPED FROM SCHOOL AND GIBILL MONEY WAS STILL TAKEN. I MET HIM WHEN WE FIRST ENROLLED AT COLEMAN IN JANUARY 2011. HE JUST RECENTLY DIED IN SLEEP, DUE TO MEDICAL ISSUES, FAMILY PROBLEMS, AND LASTLY THE FACT THAT HE WAS TRYING TO GRADUATE THIS DECEMBER, BUT WAS DROPPED FROM SCHOOL AGAIN, JUST BECAUSE HE WAS NOT DOING GOOD IN SCHOOL DUE TO MEDICAL ISSUES. HE WAS NEVER OFFERED ASSISTANCE.) THEY SCHOOL ADVERTIZES THIS MOTTO. “ DREAMS INTO REALITY” WE FELL LIKE OUR “DREAMS TURN INTO NIGHTMARES “; WHILE ENROLLED AT COLEMAN UNIVIERSITY. THEY ALWAYS FIRE PEOPLE THAT TRY TO ASSIST VETERANS AND OTHER STUDENTS.
I AM GOING THROUGH SIMILAR ISSUES, I HAVE LOWER BACK INJURIES REQUIRING LARGE DOSES OF NARCOTICS, ANTI-DEPRESSANTS, EPIDURAL INJECTIONS, AND NERVE BLOCKER INJECTIONS. I HAVE PROVIDED THE SCHOOL NUMEROUS LETTERS FROM VA DOCTORS AND STILL THEY DON'T PROVIDE ME AND OTHER VETERANS SUPPORT SERVICES. THEY DON'T CARE IF WE FAIL, BUT DO TAKE OUR GIBILL AND TUITION ASSISTANCE. I AM A GOVT EMPLOYEE AND MY DOD JOB PAYS FOR SOME OF MY CLASSES. I FEEL THAT WE ARE BEING LIED TO AND RIPPED OFF. THE ARE ABUSING THE FEDERAL GIBILL, TUITION ASSISTANCE AND FINANCIAL AID.
DR. CHRISTINA MILLER THE EX FINANCIAL AID DIRECTOR WAS ARRESTED FOR GOVT. MONEY FRAUD THIS YEAR, SHE WORKED FOR UNITED STATES UNIVERSITY, THAT IS WHERE SHE DID MOST OF THE GOVT. MONEY FRAUD. SOME OF US STUDENTS NOTICED PROBLEMS WITH GOVT. MONEY WHEN SHE STARTED AT COLEMAN UNIVERSITY. WE THINK THAT SHE STOLE GOVT. FUNDS WHILE WORKING FOR COLEMAN UNIVERSITY. PLEASE HELP US!

school of sharks
My time at Coleman University was ok. There's one instructor who get really mad if you ask him a question. And he's been there for years, why he's still an instructor there, I don't know why. And the credits are not transferable to another school IE SDSU etc because they are only Nationally accredited so that they can receive the $money$. And their all like that, some will and won't transfer over.
And of course they don't tell you that until it too late do to anything about it. And unless they have changed it, the Library is a huge joke, all way out dated books from 3-5 years ago. All they care about is your "free money" and nothing else. Their just like all the other ripe off schools out there like Kaplan, PMI, UOP, they will steal your money and laugh all the way to their bank.
Go to www.complaintsboard.com and type in a school, IE Kaplan, pmi, uop and read all about the complaints people have filed against the schools. You have pass their so called test and once you pass their so called, that is when they start to reel you in so that they can steal you money, please stay clear of these ripe off people. Brian.
Hi, Sorry about my typo, it's still a huge rip off. The student debt in America is at $1 trillion! It's places like Coleman, UEI, Kaplan,
uop, that got us there.
I actually learned very many important skills at Coleman while going through the networking program. The library was also legit! I taught myself web development while I was going through the first mod, and the graphic design/web dev teachers were all very supportive, even though I wasn't even in their program.
P.S. It's rip, not ripe. Ripe is for fruit.
