After being a Children's Place cardholder for over 5 years, I found out today that they closed my account on 9/7/18 because they somehow didn't have my physical address in their system - only my mailing address. Funny how they had it on my NY&Co card though. I found out my account was closed by going to Credit Karma, but I do not understand why they'd do this after I just purchased some items from them for my son on 9/3/18. I called them at 866-544-1471 & Angie told me that I would have to REAPPLY for a new CP account because they could not reopen it. I asked for her supervisor, and she transferred me to the very rude and unprofessional, Andrea. She kept telling me "I am not too for sure" about each question I asked her and then she got an attitude when that response could not pacify me. I wanted to know why a customer's account would be closed when they had my physical address in their system for YEARS as well as my PO BOX address, yet they never closed my account. They didn't mail me anything nor did they email me anything. They simply closed my account. That's ok. It just proves that all these bad reviews are correct, and I will NEVER shop at Children's Place again. They can close my other account too if they'd like. They need some training in ethics and customer service because they are truly lacking. I wanted to send a complaint letter to their HQ office, but Andrea told me I'd have to send it to their generic customer service PO BOX. Not happening. I will just complain on every site I can about them. Stay away from this bank!
Same thing happened to me but with another store. Apparently they had 17 years to update missing info on accounts by a government act passed in 2001! They failed to meet the Sept 4, 2018 deadline and any account that wasn’t updated was CLOSED! I just spent 3 hours with them on the phone regarding the same letter! Over 7, 000 card holders are effected
I asked many if the same questions that you did. I had one very rude Patricia. Asked for her supervisor, Sabrina and then went up the chain of supervisors in my 3 hour phone call. Finally spoke with Kim and my account matter was resolved

You know you don't have to agree with Emoto's opinion, but calling someone an idiot shows how immature you are. I am glad to be of help, but I always teach my kids to be respectful, even to those that disagree with my point of view. You should try the same.
I did not ask for your opinion so shut up. You really are stupid. My son is in foster care right now, so nothing really matters. He was born with a learning disability and was acting like a freaking idiot. I slapped him. I told him that he was a mistake and that I wished he were never born. I told him I wished he would die. I was angry, he is in special ed and embarrasses me.
I also filled a complaint with the BBB
