Very Bad Hospital
I would not send anyone to Cooper Hospital for medical treatment. I am diabetic and need to have an early morning appointment for my condition. First thing they did was to change my surgery arrival time from 7:00 am to 2:30 pm leaving over 14 hours for not have anything to eat or drink at this time.
After I arrived and was prepared for surgery the time was now 4:30 pm. At that time they informed me that my operation time had changed to 6:00 pm. About 5 minutes later my surgery was cancelled telling me that one of the doctors (Dr. Bowen, Heart Surgeon ) could not stay for my procedure. The hospital did not care that I was a diabetic, did not care I had to cancel a shoulder replacement that same day for my wife to schedule my critical operation. Did not care that I had to arrange a ride to the hospital and home for myself and my wife. Did not care that I had had to stop my blood thinners for AFib for 4 days putting me at risk for a stroke. And what makes it even worse is that nobody from the hospital even call me the next day to try to make it right. I was made to feel like I was just a piece of meat, just money in their bank account. They sent us home with a parking voucher to get our car out of the garage. My day ended with me going over 17 hours without having anything to eat or drink. Cooper Hospital tells you that “ Cooper Cares “ “Treatment First”.
I am now making arrangements to go to University of Penn Hospital.
Respectfully, Joe O
Recommendation: Do not go to Cooper hospital go to Jefferson
Disappointed with Cooper University Health Care's Billing Practices
So, my husband had to get a 2 view chest x-ray done at Cooper University Health Care on Kings Highway. We were not prepared for the shock of the bill. The charge for this study at competitor freestanding facilities in the area is $99.00. But, Cooper charged us a whopping $634.00 for the same x-ray. We were not happy about this at all.
After the fact, we learned that Cooper does offer this study for uninsured or cash paying patients at $99.00. But, they would not extend the same courtesy for insured patients like us. We understand that carrier contract obligations can be tricky, but we would have been glad to pay cash had we known upfront what our cost would be. We definitely did not expect to pay $634.00 for a simple x-ray.
We have called numerous times and left numerous messages for the managers at their billing company, but to date, none have returned our calls. This is very frustrating and we feel like we are being ignored.
We would like to advise others to do their homework and ask for fees upfront whenever possible. This will allow for an informed decision whether to proceed or seek a more reasonable option elsewhere. It will definitely save you some aggravation when opening their invoice.
Overall, we were disappointed with our experience at Cooper University Health Care. We hope that they can improve their communication and billing practices in the future.
Disappointing Experience at Cooper University Health Care: Lack of Compassion and Communication
My son recently had his third surgery at Cooper University Health Care, and unfortunately, this time around was not as positive of an experience as the first two times. As an employee of Cooper, I was disappointed with the treatment and lack of compassion my son received during his stay.
He had an ileostomy reversal and was placed on Pavilion floor 6. I found that the nurses were not as helpful as they had been in the past. When I asked questions, nobody seemed to have the answers, and when I requested an ice bag, it took two hours for someone to bring it to us. I even noticed the nurses giggling and joking around at the front desk, which made me feel like they were not taking their job seriously.
To make matters worse, there was no hot water in the showers, which was a problem during my son's previous stays as well. I asked the staff to take care of it, but nothing was done. My son was in pain, vomiting, and unable to even take a shower to feel some relief.
I tried calling several times to speak with the head nurse or my son's nurse, but I never received a call back. This left me feeling disappointed, sad, and aggravated. I feel like I had to show them that I am an employee there for them to treat my son with the same level of care and support that they would provide to any patient.
Overall, I hope that Cooper University Health Care can improve their patient care and communication with family members. It is important for patients to feel heard and supported during their stay, and I hope that my son's experience can serve as a learning opportunity for the staff.
Mixed Experience with Dr. Patrick Cronin at Cooper Hospital - Great Doctor, Terrible Office
Dr. Patrick Cronin, who is a Rheumatologist at Cooper Hospital, is an amazing doctor. He is a great listener and always gets to the root of the problem. I have been seeing him for almost a year now and I must say, he is the best. However, the office where I see him, located at 900 Centennial Blvd., BUILDING TWO (2), Voorhees, New Jersey, is just terrible. I have had nothing but problems with them. The Manager of that office needs to find a new job because she is totally worthless and very unprofessional! I don't think she could manage a flea!
My husband also had an appointment in that same building (Building 2) and waited over 1-1/2 hours to see a doctor. He arrived a half hour early so he'd be on time and we kept asking the receptionist how much longer... the point is she NEVER entered into the system that he was there! What idiots! It wasn't like it was that busy. OMG! It's one thing after the other at the building.
However, BUILDING ONE (1) is GREAT -- never had one problem over there. The only reason I go there is for DR. PATRICK CRONIN -- a Great Rheumatologist! Another member of my family had an appointment with Dr. Cronin and when he went to the appointment there wasn't anything entered into the system with Dr. Cronin (who wasn't even there that day but was in another office) and it was made with an Internal Medicine Doctor! That office needs is HORRIBLE!
It's really sad that there are so many wonderful Cooper doctors and they have to be associated with that horrible office. I hope they can fix their issues soon.
Unprofessional and Neglectful Treatment at Cooper University Health Care: A Trauma Hospital to Avoid
I was at Cooper University Health Care for ten hours while they were working on my brother. Unfortunately, we never received an update during that time. They kept telling us that someone would come, but no one ever did. My brother even asked for his family, but they wouldn't come get one of us. He was scared and about to have surgery, but he sat there alone for hours upon hours. The staff and security were so rude and unprofessional. I had never seen anything like it in my life. Even the Camden officers (the real police) said how rude they were and how he would never allow his family to go there. We finally left at 2 am with no answers. We never found out what meds he was on, and he has had a transplant, so this is very important! They just don't care about the people who are in there. This hospital has gone way down hill.
On top of all this, we had asked to speak to a "so-called supervisor," but they refused to come. From Denise in the cafeteria to Frank, who holds some bull$#*! title, they were just plain nasty and rude. I will never be back at this hospital! They need to fire them all or make classes mandatory for sensitive training, especially at a trauma hospital. This is so not okay how we were treated, and also my brother. I am filing a formal complaint with this hospital and filling out everything and anything I possibly can. This is the second time this hospital has been this way, so it's no accident or bad night; it's the norm.
This is the most unprofessional place I have ever experienced at the most stressful times of your life. Save yourself and choose a different hospital because you will regret going to Cooper Hospital! You will be treated horribly, guaranteed. It's so sad that a hospital that is supposed to help people can be so terrible.
Multiple Rescheduled Cardiac MRI Tests at Cooper University Health Care
I had a cardiac MRI scheduled for July 8th at Cooper University Health Care. The patient registration valet and the people at the desk in the waiting area were very nice. The techs doing the MRI were also nice. However, they had trouble getting a vein for the needle to put the dye in during the test. My veins are tough, and they were unable to get the needle in. The IV team was unable to come and help because they were all backed up. As a result, I had to reschedule the test for July 22nd.
On July 22nd, the IV team was able to get the needle in for the IV dye, and I had the test done. I thanked everyone, but I never met the doctor who had to do the test. Later, I got a call from Cooper to say that I had to schedule the test to be redone with the IV team to come again! I was surprised to find out that the doctor who did my test called my doctor to say that the test was not done right. The person who called me made the appointment for August 17th at 10:30 am, so here I go coming up for the third time, not my fault for the one and only test ordered.
I got to patient registration on August 17th, only to find out that there was no appointment for me. No one in X-ray knew I was coming, so apparently, the person who called me to schedule the appointment never put it in the computer. I had to go to the Camden campus, so lo and behold, I have to come back for the fourth time. I called to reschedule the test, only to find out that I need a new script. Why do I need a new script when you guys messed the test up and charged my insurance for the do-over of the same test?
As you can imagine, I am not happy to travel one way for 30 to 45 minutes for the fourth time! I am sure you are a good hospital, but it makes me think, do I have to come back for a fifth time if this test gets done on the fourth trip? It will give me second thoughts if I need to be admitted for a procedure or surgery, as it would make me think I would have to come back four times for that!
Thank you for your time.
Cooper Hospital: Good for Trauma Emergencies, But Not for Elective Surgeries
Cooper in Camden NJ is a hospital that's good for Trauma emergencies, but if you're looking for elective surgeries and standard procedures, I suggest you don't go there. I learned this the hard way when my mother went in for a simple procedure to insert a stent. She was in good health for her age and took good care of herself. However, after the minor surgery, she complained of pain and was vomiting. The doctors gave her Imodium, which didn't help at all.
My mother was then placed in general population for almost a week, and her organs started failing one by one until she became unresponsive. It was only then that her complaints were taken seriously, and she was taken to the ICU. Unfortunately, she died of sepsis in the ICU two days later. It was a devastating loss for our family, and it could have been prevented if the doctors and staff at Cooper had taken her complaints seriously from the beginning.
Since then, I've warned others about Cooper, but unfortunately, they didn't listen. Now, I've lost another friend to the incompetence of the doctors and staff at that hospital. It's heartbreaking to see people lose their lives because of negligence and lack of care. I wish my friend had listened to my warnings. He was a beautiful person, and his loss is felt deeply by everyone who knew him.
If you value your life or the life of a loved one, I urge you to cross the bridge and go to Penn. Don't take any chances with your health and well-being. Cooper may be good for Trauma emergencies, but when it comes to elective surgeries and standard procedures, it's just not worth the risk.
Inaccurate Readings and Long Wait Times at Cooper University Health Care
I had an appointment at Cooper University Health Care for 9am. I got there around 8:50am, and I was taken to the examination room at about 9:10am. Everything seemed to be going well until the assistant asked me to step on the electronic scale. I was surprised to see that I had gained 15 pounds within an hour. I had weighed myself before leaving home that morning, and I knew that something was not right. I think the scales should be recalibrated after every patient to ensure accurate readings.
Next, the assistant took my blood pressure electronically. I have never felt so much pressure on my arm before. Sadly, the numbers that the assistant wrote down for the doctor were high and wrong from this electronic instrument. The doctor told me that my blood pressure was high, but I immediately told her that there was no way. The doctor rechecked my blood pressure using a different blood pressure monitor and got lower numbers that put me in the normal range for my age group. Telling people that they have high blood pressure is a mistake that should not be made because it is avoidable. I think the assistant should receive more training on how to properly use these electronic instruments to get accurate results.
Finally, the assistant told me that the doctor would come in within 10-15 minutes before she left the examination room. I thanked her, and she left and closed the door. I looked at my phone for the time, and as I sat there, I became irritated. I sat there for 45 minutes before the doctor entered the examination room. Upon entering the room, the doctor did apologize for the long delay, which can be verified in my chart. If I have another experience like this, I will have no choice but to prepare myself to look for a better healthcare option. I do expect some wait time, but there should be some respect for my time as well.
Disappointing Experience with Cooper University Health Care for My Grandson's Head Injury
My daughter and I had a really bad experience with Cooper University Health Care. My grandson, who is only 7 years old, had a head injury and we had to see many doctors. Unfortunately, the doctors were not on the same page and they did not read each other's notes. The neuro department did not want to schedule an MRI, but the trauma department did. The problem was that they needed to put him to sleep because an MRI is difficult even for an adult! We had to wait for an anesthesiologist to be available.
One morning, I went to the hospital so my daughter could leave to get a shower. Shortly after she left, the child team came in to talk to my grandson about doing the MRI without meds. They made her turn around and return because there was an opening right away. They returned and my grandson got taken down 3 hours later! They assured my daughter that if he couldn't get through the MRI they would redo it the following day under anesthesia. Well, they could not complete it according to the radiologist, however, the Neuro team said they got enough. Problem is they ordered the test with contrast and it was done without. They refused to complete the test! He was also ordered to get a tetanus shot and in the records it states he did, but he did not!
My daughter questioned all the decisions and the difference of opinions with the doctors but they told her what she thought doesn't matter. They were releasing him without the completed test. He was released with a brain bleed and no instructions for my daughter other than to see her pediatrician. Now, I'm not a specialist, however, I do believe she should have been given instructions on what to watch for and what my grandson should NOT do with a brain bleed.
We are very disappointed with Cooper University Health Care and we will not be going back there. We are going to CHOP instead.
Review of Cooper Medical Center: Great Cardiologist, Mixed Specialists, Communication Needs Improvement
I've been going to Cooper for a long time now. I live in Delaware and I'm not too happy with the specialists in Wilmington. Philadelphia is just too hard to get around. I had six cardiac bypasses in 2018 and everything went well. Dr. Ginsberg, the cardiologist, has been great before and after the surgery. I thought the pain was just because of the weather and Fibro, but he assured me that I had heart problems. They tried stents, but they were too blocked for that. Dr. Ukrainsky, the Endochrinologist, has been really good, but sometimes he's a little too innovative for me. The ENT, Urologist, and Podiatrist were not as good. The ENT is not there anymore and he shouldn't be. He kept saying that I had a deviated septum. I think he just wanted to do surgery. The Urologist was surprised that my biopsy showed no cancer. I think he was in the mood to cut something. The podiatrist said, "no one ever died from a nail fungus". When I was in the hospital for my cardiac surgery, they were great. The endo people came to see me several times and the nurses were really good. Overall, the medical center and its people are worth your time and energy. I do agree that communication is not their strong suit. I once threatened to go to HR if their endo associates who were dealing with refills and appointments didn't get their act together. You'd be surprised at how quickly things turned around when I canceled an appointment due to illness and they got me a new one.
The worst thing that happened to me was when I was being discharged from the hospital after my cardiac surgery. A young guy wheeled me down to the door where my wife was supposed to pick me up. He left me standing there, somewhat winded and in poor shape. My wife was having trouble finding the exact door. I walked from one door to the next looking for her. He should not have left a heart patient on their own until their caregiver arrived. I told HR about this, but I never got in touch with them. So, in the words of Forrest Gump, "and that's all I have to say about that".
Unsatisfactory Experience with Cooper University Health Care: A Patient's Story
My name is Josephine Penna and I am 76 years old. I want to share my experience with Cooper University Health Care. I have had both my hips and left knee replaced, had pancreatitis within 5 years, and had a hernia repair right before my repair. All of these procedures were done at Cooper and I used to love it there. However, my experience has changed and I am no longer satisfied with their services.
I have been on opioids for my pain and my family doctor was giving them to me. I never got them from the streets. I was getting oxycodone, Percocets, fentanyl patches, and anything else you can imagine. Unfortunately, I overdosed at the age of 73. The ER doctor at a different hospital called my family doctor and my family doctor wrote me to say that I was no longer his patient. I was still having severe pain and his name is Dr. Joseph Sereci from Marlton, NJ.
Now back to Cooper Hospital. Ever since what happened to me, when I go to the ER, they call me a drug addict. The doctors are calling me these names. This past September 2020, my sister passed away and at that time, my right leg was getting swollen, painful, and red. But I had to go to her funeral. So after her funeral, my leg was so big, hot, red, and painful. I went to Cooper ER Hospital in Camden, NJ. I waited to see Dr. Horrible Freeze. He looked at me and said, "I'm not giving you any drugs on my watch." I was crying in pain and Dr. Freeze told me to take 2 water pills and I was let go home with this leg. When I got home, my daughters said, "Please mommy go back." So they called the ambulance when they saw my leg. They said, "Josephine, we have to take you to the closest hospital." I live in Cherry Hill, NJ, so I went to Jefferson in CH. When I got there, two wonderful female doctors looked at my leg and said, "Mrs. Penna, you have cellulitis," and they started me on antibiotics immediately. I was in Jefferson for 5 or 6 days with bags and bags of antibiotics, and when leaving, I was still on 5 days of the same antibiotics. I never heard of cellulitis but was told I could have died if left untreated.
So when I got better, I wrote to Cooper's President, Dr. Mazzeralli. I got an apology letter from patient relations. So I wrote again, and this time, another apology letter from the ER doctor, Dr. Love. He told me to call him, so I did. He said that Dr. Freeze was a great doctor and he had many patients to take care of at the ER. I said, "Are you crazy? I could have died." He said, "Please next time you need the ER, please call for him, Dr. Love," plus he made a joke of his name. I said, "Take your mother to Dr. Freeze," and he hung up. Well, I wrote another letter to Dr. Mazzarelli, and I got another apology letter, and please, this will not happen again at the ER.
I do suffer from severe back pain and without any kind of pain meds. When the opioid problems came out, I promised my children I would get off opioids, so I went off those drugs and was put on Suboxone because Cooper told me that Suboxone would help with my pain. Well, it never helped with pain, so I told Dr. Schmidt at Cooper I am still in pain, so he upped the Suboxone to 4 8 and a half mg a day for a 75-year-old woman with 3 bad heart valves that have to be replaced. I believed in this doctor too. My children read about Suboxone, so I stopped taking it. And I told Dr. Schmidt I do not want to take it. That was in September 2020. Cooper keeps calling for my appointments, and I told them I'm not taking them anymore. My daughter just told me I went off Suboxone in August 2020, but the doctor was still sending me the prescription. I still have bottles of Suboxone.
Now Dr. Schmidt sends me a psych doctor, calling me. I talked to him, and he was nice. Then he wanted to call me every Wednesday. I never answered his calls. Then he called me again, and I told him I do not need a psych doctor. Maybe all the ones who were in the waiting office waiting for their Suboxone who went to jail for drugs and who were on court orders or go to jail. I was this old woman in a wheelchair with these young drug addicts full of tattoos all over their bodies and necks. And pregnant young girls full of tattoos up and down their legs and arms. And I said, "What am I doing here?"
When I went this past month, November, to pain management, he said, "Why was I on Suboxone for over a year when I could have been weaned off the drugs?" He asked if I did IV opioids. I said absolutely not. It's all about money, and I am on Medicare and insurance. They took plenty of insurance from me.
Thank you so much. I know I talk too much, but I'm trying to get it all in. And please, Arlene and Tiffany from Cooper Patient Relations, please do not leave a message. They cannot help people with Cooper Hospital doctors. They are not even nurses. They just answer phones.

Read full review of Cooper University Health Care and 1 commentReview of Cooper University Health Care's Turnersville Facility: Concerns with Work Environment and Management
I recently visited Cooper University Health Care's new facility in Turnersville and had a chance to chat with a friend who works there. They shared with me that while they enjoy working at Cooper Health, the work environment has been less than ideal. Apparently, the office manager is difficult to communicate with and employees feel like their concerns are not being heard. For example, if an employee is not meeting Cooper Health's standards, nothing is done to correct the behavior. This includes things like being late, using cellphones during work hours, taking extended lunch breaks, and engaging in non-work related conversations. As a senior person, I found some of the conversations I overheard to be unpleasant and unprofessional.
I truly hope that someone from Cooper Health will come to this office and see and hear what is happening. It's important for employees to feel valued and heard in their workplace, and for patients to receive care from professionals who are focused on their work. Despite these concerns, I still believe that Cooper Health is a great healthcare provider and I would recommend them to others.
Disappointing Experience at Cooper University Health Care: Doctor Retires, No Follow-Up Care, and Limited Options
I recently had an experience at Cooper University Health Care that left me feeling frustrated and disappointed. I went in for X-rays on my back on May 12th, only to be told by the doctor that he was retiring in just four days and I would need to find another doctor to read my results. I couldn't help but wonder why he bothered to see me at all if he knew he wouldn't be able to follow through with my care.
To make matters worse, the doctor gave me a choice between living with the pain or undergoing yet another surgery. I've already had five surgeries in the past 15 years, and I'm hesitant to trust another doctor with my health after so many failed attempts. If I could stop payment from my insurance company, I would - that's how frustrated I am with the care I received.
I was shocked that I wasn't taken care of better, especially considering the number of people who come into the hospital without insurance. I expected better treatment and more helpful answers than what I received. Even my cardiologist at Penn Medicine couldn't get the results for me, leaving me without any answers from May 12th until now.
Overall, I'm extremely disappointed with my experience at Cooper University Health Care. I won't be returning to any of their hospitals, and I'll continue to warn others about my negative experience.

Unprofessional Supervisors and Incompetent HR: My Experience at Cooper University Health Care
I had the opportunity to work at Cooper University Health Care and I must say, it was not a pleasant experience. The supervisors in the call center lacked proper education beyond high school and were highly unprofessional. One of the supervisors was reported three times for sexual harassment, but surprisingly still has a job. Another supervisor was reprimanded by doctors and they demanded her termination, but she was protected by another supervisor and kept her job. It was shocking to learn that one of the supervisors' daughters was fired twice for smoking pot, yet she was able to get her job back. To make matters worse, one of the supervisors openly stated that she would not hire a man for any position under her supervision. The HR team was also highly unprofessional and incompetent. If you are looking to advance and move to another department, good luck! They will keep you where you are with no pay increase, despite telling you otherwise. I could go on and on, but I will stop here. I strongly advise against working at Cooper University Health Care. Consider yourself warned!
Disappointing Experience at Cooper University Health Care: Lack of Wheelchairs for Patients
I recently had an experience at Cooper University Health Care that left me feeling disappointed and frustrated. My 85-year-old mother and I went to the hospital from her doctor's office, and upon arrival, I asked for a wheelchair to assist her in getting into the building. To my surprise, I was informed that there were no wheelchairs available. I couldn't believe it! How could one of the largest hospitals not have wheelchairs for their patients?
The woman at the patient information desk responded to my inquiry in a sarcastic manner, saying that this happens all the time. She then walked away, leaving me to deal with the situation on my own. I found it unacceptable that this could be a common occurrence in such a large hospital. It seems like poor management to me.
Carrying my mother into the hospital was not only stressful but also downright disgusting. It's disappointing to have to go through this kind of experience when you're already dealing with the stress of going to the hospital. I wouldn't want anyone else to have to go through this, and it's the reason why I won't be dealing with a doctor who only works out of Cooper.
Overall, my experience at Cooper University Health Care was disappointing. I hope that they can address this issue and ensure that they have enough wheelchairs available for their patients. It's the little things that can make a big difference in a patient's experience, and I hope that Cooper can improve in this area.
Cooper University Health Care Review: Frustrating Billing and Call-In System, but Great Doctor
I've had a couple of experiences with Cooper University Health Care and unfortunately, both times my bill has been messed up. It's frustrating because they're trying to collect more money than my insurance says they should be. The first time I called, I was on hold for an hour before finally talking to someone who saw the mistake and said they fixed it. However, the same mistake happened again during my second appointment just last month. This time, I spent a whopping 90 minutes on hold before being transferred to a "help desk" that couldn't really help me other than taking my name and number. It's ridiculous that I'm not the one making the mistake, yet I'm the one wasting my time trying to fix it. Maybe I should get some compensation for all the time I've wasted.
The call-in system is a mess. You have to wait on hold for everything. It's frustrating to have to wait on hold for 30 minutes just to make an appointment when you're already feeling sick. I've been to four different doctors this year and Cooper is the only one that can't seem to figure out the insurance processing. It's a shame because I really like my doctor and wish he would go somewhere else.
Despite all the frustration, I still gave Cooper University Health Care a few stars because of my doctor. However, I hope they can improve their billing and call-in system in the future. It's not fair to patients to have to waste so much time trying to fix mistakes that aren't their fault.
Cooper University Health Care: Temporary Relief, Pushing Additional Treatments
I had an injection at Cooper University Health Care and initially felt some relief. However, that relief was short-lived and disappeared soon after the injection. When I called to discuss my concerns, they suggested that I may need another injection before I could feel better. I was skeptical and felt like I was being given the runaround. I was also concerned about the additional bill that would come my way.
Unfortunately, my experience is not unique. Many others have felt like they were not getting the care they were promised. After three epidural injections, I asked for a script for physical therapy, but they refused. It seems like they don't want you to return to normal but instead want you to see their surgeons for further evaluation.
I know my comments may sound scary, but they are based on my personal experience with these physicians. I have been to both the Voorhees and Camden locations, and neither was able to make my troubles go away. However, I hope that my review can help someone else who is in pain and looking for help.
Overall, I would say that Cooper University Health Care is not the best option for those seeking relief from their medical issues. While they may provide some temporary relief, it seems like they are more interested in pushing additional treatments and evaluations rather than finding a long-term solution.
Cooper University Health Care's Disrespectful Treatment of Religious Beliefs: A Review
I am writing this review because I am extremely disappointed with the way Cooper University Health Care treats people of religious backgrounds. As a member of the community, I believe that everyone should be treated with respect and dignity, regardless of their beliefs.
Recently, I witnessed a situation where a chaplain was not allowed to pray for a co-worker's son before surgery. The mother had informed the hospital staff the day before that the chaplain would be coming, but when they arrived the next morning, they were met with hostility and rudeness from the front desk staff.
I was appalled at the way the hospital employees treated the chaplain and the family. It is unacceptable that someone who is there to provide comfort and support to patients and their families is treated in such a disrespectful manner.
Cooper University Health Care may have a good reputation as a hospital, but their customer service leaves a lot to be desired. It is important for hospitals to remember that they are not just treating patients, but also their families and loved ones. Everyone deserves to be treated with kindness and compassion, especially during times of illness and stress.
I hope that Cooper University Health Care takes steps to improve their customer service and ensure that everyone who walks through their doors is treated with the respect and dignity they deserve. No one should be made to feel unwelcome or unsupported during a difficult time, and it is the responsibility of the hospital staff to ensure that this does not happen.
Cooper University Healthcare: Prioritizing Education Over Patient Care?
Cooper University Healthcare is a hospital that is known for its commitment to educating students. However, this commitment seems to come at the expense of patient care. The providers at Cooper do not always ask for the patient's permission before allowing a student to perform an assessment. This can be risky, as the student may not have the necessary knowledge or experience to properly diagnose the patient's condition.
Another issue with Cooper is that the providers do not always remember or write down the patient's chief complaints. This can lead to a misdiagnosis, which can be dangerous for the patient. Additionally, when the doctor finally comes in to see the patient, they often spend more time teaching the student than actually diagnosing and treating the patient.
While it is admirable that Cooper is dedicated to educating students, patient care should always come first. Unfortunately, this is not always the case at Cooper. Patients often have to wait longer than necessary to be seen by their doctor, as the presence of a student can double or even triple the appointment time.
Cooper's approach to patient care is concerning, and it is especially troubling that they seem to be using black and Hispanic patients as guinea pigs. The hospital's new slogan, "Students First," seems to prioritize education over patient care.
In conclusion, while Cooper University Healthcare may be a good place for students to learn, it is not always the best place for patients to receive care. The hospital's approach to patient care needs to be reevaluated to ensure that patients are receiving the best possible care.
Disappointing ER Experience at Cooper Hospital: Doctor Nyce's Lack of Care and Attention
I had an extreme pain in my thigh and had to be taken to Cooper Hospital by ambulance. The attendants were all very nice and accommodating. They did X-Rays and Ultrasound of my leg and found no blood clots or any broken bones. However, I was still in excruciating pain. Unfortunately, I never got to see the attending doctor, whose name was Nyce. He didn't feel that an MRI was warranted, so he sent me home with crutches which I was unable to use because I couldn't stand upright without pain. He also prescribed a strong Advil pill. I even asked for an MRI, but they said that Nyce didn't see fit to do it. I hope that no one else gets him as a doctor in the Emergency Room! He didn't even have the decency to come and see me in person. He sent his assistant! I will not be going to Cooper Hospital should I ever need care again. Oh, and I'm 73 years old, and this was my first time ever going to a hospital. I don't take any medications and have not had any surgeries, so I would think that the care would have been a little better than what I received. That doctor needs to find another profession!
Disappointing Experience with Cooper University Health Care: Negligence and Lack of Care
I recently had an experience with Cooper University Health Care that left me feeling frustrated and disappointed. My wife was overdue on her pregnancy and experiencing a lot of pain and bleeding. We went to Cooper and told them about her symptoms, including the fact that she was dripping fluid. The staff assured us that everything was okay and that she hadn't broken her water or anything like that. I asked if they could induce labor, but they said they would do it in two days.
I was concerned and asked them to check her more thoroughly, but they seemed to want us out of there quickly. The doctor was apparently at home and didn't want to come in on a Saturday, even though she was on call. I don't understand why she couldn't have come in to help us. In the end, I took my wife to another hospital and it turned out that she was indeed leaking amniotic fluid. She had to be induced, which was a stressful and difficult experience.
I've heard from other friends who have had their children born at Cooper that the staff can be lazy and ignore important symptoms. They seem to want to get patients out of the hospital as quickly as possible without doing a thorough job. I was really disappointed with the care we received at Cooper and would not recommend this hospital to anyone. It's a shame that such an important institution can be so careless with people's health and well-being.
