Store 626 in Chattanooga TN is something special. Them ladies working there are amazing. Sharon, our waitress, was the bomb! She was so full of life and outgoing, I just loved her! All the other ladies there were so sweet too, it was an experience I won't forget.

Now to talk about what really matters, that food! Dangit, it was so good. They had cornbread that tasted like my grandma's (God bless her soul). I'm telling you, this ain't your average food spot. And the fact that they were open on Thanksgiving Day for us travelers made me feel all warm inside. They know what's important, and that's people.

That sign they got up in there saying "It's not the food, it's the people" is true. The food was amazing, but it wouldn't have been the same without them employees. Y'all doing something right up in there, keep it up!

So, me, my daughter, and her kids all went to Cornbread (cornbreadsoul.com) to dine in and have a nice chat as my daughter lives out of town. I ordered the classic cornbread as it sounded and looked good. I was served my cornbread and started to eat. That's when I saw it. A flaw in my cornbread! I couldn't believe it, I told my daughter about it, and she suddenly looked sad. We decided to finish up quickly and leave. We paid the money and gave our waitress a tip as she deserved it, though I will not be coming back here ever again. Terrible place for people who appreciate good quality cornbread.

Aside from the issue with my cornbread, the atmosphere of Cornbread was quite inviting. It reminded me of my family's annual cookouts back home. The walls were decorated with vintage photos and the smell of freshly baked bread filled the air. The staff was friendly, and the music was relaxing. Maybe if I ever came back, I would try the mac and cheese or the collard greens, but definitely not the cornbread.
