I am very unhappy. I have been paying the $49.00 per month since March and I have received nothing in return. Every time I went to sign up for a course it would not show me how much it would cost or if it was included in my $49.00 per month. So I would just give up frustrated. I have paid them $931 for absolutely nothing. I wish I had done something sooner (my fault). I started a chat with them today and they did not care at all, they just gave me links to the website that I had never found in my searches. I think that the website is very unclear. It could be a very good business model but it is not run well. Now they have *** Plus at $399 per year that is supposed to include everything on the website and I was paying $588 per year for just Excel (as I was informed in the Chat). I thought that when you enter into a contract with someone it was supposed to be balanced, this hasn't been... I am extremely unhappy especially since I am now unemployed and I was looking for something to help... Beware!
Classes are fine, but they have failed to send the $150 Gift Card I earned for completing the Google Certification by August 31. No responses to emails after it was escalated. This was the only reason I paid for the premium subscription for the year. Classes are decent if you have some background knowledge, but I feel like this is a case of false advertising.
I have an unauthorized charge for $49 from a company on my credit card today (Feb-26, 2021). I took a free trial of 7 days from this company but to my surprise, they charged me a hefty amount after the trial ended without giving any notification. Problem date: Feb-26, 2021 Order Number: Not Provided Payment amount: CNY 316.00
They didn't text, email, or send any form of communication. Every customer has the right to be informed before such actions are taken. This method of conducting business is unacceptable.
I spent almost 1 hour navigating through their help resources and expected to find a way to contact them, but it seems they have made it difficult to reach out. There's no hotline, no contact number, no place to submit a ticket, no email for lodging complaints...
We must raise our voices against this kind of oppressive behavior and deceit!
Another unauthorized charge of $79 after not giving me a link to the course. No accessible phone number to call. Wasn't cancelled on day 9 when requested the course to be canceled via email on 3/21.
You get double charged in a single day every month and there is no customer service to deal with for the issue

YOU WILL NEVER BE ABLE TO UNSUBSCRIBE AFTER YOUR FREE TRIAL. THEY WILL KEEP BILLING YOU AND NO ONE ANSWERS EMAILS OR VOICEMAILS. I WANT A FULL REFUND BECAUSE I HAVEN'T TAKEN ANY COURSES. $167.64.
I have reached out multiple times and am unable to get a response. I have been charged after I cancelled. At one point, I didn't even want a refund - I just wanted to apply the credit to a different course, but there is no customer service to assist. I was charged again after never hearing back from them. The Excel course I am taking is missing quite a few steps, and I reached out about that as well, but nothing. Do not use this company.
There have been several complaints regarding course grades disappearing after the students completed them. It has been more than 2 weeks and no action has been taken. All you hear is the engineers are working on it with no time frame. Everyone is frustrated. It has been a pathetic experience. Steer clear...

Great concept but when you find you don't have the time to cancel your subscription they make it impossble to cancel. No one answers phone and there is no web link to hit "cancel". This is basically theft. Don't join.

They are academically and emotionally abusive
They are academically and emotionally abusive. This company is a scam. BEWARE. I took a 6 week course, and paid my $49.00, and, 6 weeks of my life, which during this pandemic, is a lot of money for me struggling to enhance my C/V as a Therapeutic Artist. They kept adding more "requirements". They owe me my Certificate. supposedly from Univ. of Fla. Do Not Trust Them. They a shameful sham.

Signed up for a free course
Signed up for a free course. The website/email I received clearly stated that as long as I finished the course I would not be charged. So, I finished the course yet I kept on being charged. They gave me 6 months back, but they refuse to refund 8 months that I was paying that I had no idea I was paying. The course I took was terrible, so knowing inadvertently ended up paying $400 for it is awful. The offered me more courses as compensation. But I hated the one I took. BEWARE. AVOID. RUN.

Free trial
Coursera intentionally use tactics to trick clients into signing up to subscriptions without knowing what they are doing.
When you have a free trial you have access to Coursera Plus. What they don't make clear is that you can have access but you can't have the certificate. It's shows you at the end of the course you will get a certificate but you don't. Then you wonder why you not getting your certificate in searching for the option you are given a window that says if you have Coursera Plus you can have your certificate.
But if you on a trial you have been told that you are in fact on Coursera Plus. A link is presented to you while you search for options to get your certificate that says Coursera Plus. Natural response is "I'm on Coursera Plus with my free trial maybe if I click the link I'm confirming I'm on Coursera Plus and I will be able to access my certificate. As soon as you click on it you are billed immediately and the 7 day free trial is terminated.
This is after Coursera repeatedly tells you you will NOT BE BILLED until the end of your trial period. They intentionally provide no information about what the consequences are of clicking on the Coursera Plus button.
Who would worry about clicking on it if they already have a Coursera Plus trial active? Last thing you would expect after how the clearly say you will NOT BE BILLED under the trial period is over!
It's a repulsive and despicable way to do business. It's disgusting that a company like Coursera stoops to such vile lows to get business. I had the last money in my account stolen in a flash. Money I need to pay rent. I appealed to Coursera telling them what had happened and what the circumstances were and I got a big so sorry to bad. So my wife and I now face a uncertain future, with winter here and the shelters full once we are evicted we will be on the streets all thanks to Coursera and their deceptive and repulsive way of doing business. Beware.

Continued billing after cancelation.
I initially signed up looking to increase my knowledge base for my career in my free time. It became apparent that I did not have enough time to devoted to my studies so I canceled my membership after the first billing. I have since been billed three times after canceling. The date of the account charges are: 11/9/23 $39, 12/11/23 $39, 1/09/24 $39.
I have scoured the company website trying to find a way to contact anyone about this will no luck. The website lists a chat option but my account does not have the icon to select. I have also checked my “subscription” area in my account and it shows none.
If I can not get this handled promptly I will be disputing the charges with my bank.
Desired outcome: Refund of charges after cancelation and cessation of any further charges to my bank account.

Poor customer service/ failure to deliver on service promise
I was charged for my subscription on 29/11 /2023. I cancelled my subscription and deleted my account on the same day. The refund policy says that you will automatically get your refund within 5-7 days (even if you deleted your account without requesting the refund), but it's been 10 days and I haven't received anything. I have tried to contact them multiple times, but I have not yet received a response.
The lack of communication and transparency is appalling.
Claimed loss: 24 USD - Coursera subscription
Desired outcome: For them to give me back my money as promised

Non issuance of my professional certificates and digital credly badges
Dear Coursera Team,
I am writing to express my sincere concern and request the immediate release of my well-deserved professional certificates and Credly digital badges. My name is Obanor Efosa Dominic, and I hold the position of Assistant Registrar at the University of Lagos. I have recently successfully completed two rigorous courses on Coursera, and despite fulfilling all the requirements, I have not received the Google Data Analytics Professional Certificate, Google Business Intelligence Professional Certificate and the Google Cybersecurity Professional Certificate, along with their associated Credly digital badges.
The first of these accomplishments was the Google Data Analytics program, which encompassed eight comprehensive courses. I concluded this series on October 18, 2023. Similarly, I completed the Google Business Intelligence Professional Certificate, consisting of three series, on October 20, 2023 including Google Cybersecurity Professional Certificate consisting of 8 series on 2nd November, 2023. However, to my dismay, Coursera has yet to issue these certificates and digital badges to me.
This delay has become a source of great frustration and concern. I invested a substantial amount of time and effort in mastering these courses, and now I find myself unable to update my CV with these well-deserved certifications. This delay is particularly problematic as potential employers may require physical verification of the certificates I earned through these acclaimed online courses.
Coursera is renowned for its exceptional quality in online education, and it is imperative that such a reputable institution upholds its commitment to promptly issue professional certificates and digital badges to learners who have met all the necessary criteria.
I kindly request that Coursera address this matter with the urgency it deserves. I look forward to the timely release of my professional certificates and Credly digital badges, which will allow me to confidently showcase my accomplishments and skills to potential employers.
Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter.
Sincerely,
Obanor Efosa Dominic
Assistant Registrar, University of Lagos
Google data analytics professional certificate
TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN
I hope this letter finds you well. I am writing to express my concern and disappointment regarding the delay in the award of the Professional Data Analytics certification upon my successful completion of the Critical 8 Stages Certificate Course for Google Data Analytics.
I completed the course, including all the required assignments and assessments, on Wednesday, 23rd August, 2023. I was under the impression that the certification would be granted promptly upon meeting the course requirements. However, it has now been more than a day since my completion date, and I have yet to receive any communication or documentation regarding my GOOGLE DATA ANALYTICS PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATE.
I understand that there might be administrative processes involved, but the delay has caused inconvenience as I was eager to utilize the certification in my professional endeavours. As someone who highly values the integrity of the certification process, I believe timely issuance of certificates is crucial to maintaining the credibility of the program.
I kindly request your immediate attention to this matter and would appreciate an update on the expected timeframe for receiving the Professional Data Analytics certification. I have invested significant time and effort into completing the course, and I look forward to the recognition of my achievement.
Thank you for your prompt action in resolving this issue. I am confident that your attention to this matter will ensure the continued success and reputation of the program.
Yours sincerely,
Obanor Rukayat Adebisi

Peer review
My college advisor gave me the option to take a free course through Coursera to get me credits for my last elective. The course was in 3 parts, Race and Culture in the Life of American History, Fundamentals of Diversity, and Key Concepts in Organizational DE&I. In order to receive a certificate I needed to pass all quizzes and assignments in all 3 courses. I’ve done so for two however when I submitted assignments for Race and Culture in the Life of American History I needed to have peer reviews for grades. My first assignment (week 1) received a 90% then my second assignment (week 2) received a 95%. It took two weeks to receive a grade for my third (week 3) and fourth (week 4) assignments. I received a 95% on my week 4 assignment which was a research project however I received a 0% on my week 3 assignment which was simply a summary stating what my week 4 project would be about. After contacting Coursera I was told the only option is to resubmit the assignment for grading and wait 7 days. So now it’s been 3 weeks since my original submission and I failed my week 3 assignment again. This time I received a 70% with no feedback (75%) is needed to pass. Coursera support was absolutely no help again as they constantly say grades cannot be reviewed by professors. I’m now told to resubmit the assignment yet again. How many times and I supposed to keep submitting an assignment for a grade from students who didn’t do most of the assignments correctly themselves? I am not able to get my certificate of completion to provide to my college because of this one assignment and the mess of a process called peer review grading. This concept is absolutely horrible.
Desired outcome: An actual professional to review my assignment.
Coursera's Frustrating Subscription: My Experience Trying to Cancel and Stop Charges
I have to say, my experience with Coursera has been quite frustrating. I was initially drawn in by their free trial offer, but unfortunately, it didn't end up being the right fit for me. I've been trying to cancel my subscription for almost three months now, but to no avail. What's worse, they've been charging me $118 every month, even though I haven't been using their services.
I've scoured their website for a way to cancel my subscription, but there doesn't seem to be any clear instructions on how to do so. I've tried contacting them through email, but I haven't received any response. There's no phone number to call, and the only option seems to be a chatbot that's not very helpful. I've followed their instructions, but they don't seem to work.
I'm now at my wit's end, and I've had to resort to contacting my bank to dispute the charges. It's been a real nightmare, and I'm now faced with the prospect of having to cancel my credit card and transfer all my existing direct debits to a new card number. All because of Coursera.
I really wish they had made the cancellation process more straightforward. It's frustrating to feel like you're trapped in a subscription that you no longer want, and it's even more frustrating to have to jump through hoops just to cancel it. I hope they can improve their customer service in the future, so that others don't have to go through the same ordeal that I did.
Disappointed with Coursera's Peer Review System for Programming Courses
I recently signed up for Coursera, hoping to learn more about programming and coding. However, I was disappointed to find out that the C and C++ courses were not graded by a teacher or professor, as I had been led to believe. Instead, they were peer reviewed, meaning that I had to review my classmates' work and they had to review mine.
At first, I thought this might be a good way to learn, as I would be able to see how others approached the same problems. However, I quickly realized that this system had some serious flaws. For one thing, I had failed C++ in school, so how could I be sure that I was grading someone else's assignment correctly? And how could I be sure that my own assignments were being graded correctly?
Another issue was that I have ADHD, which sometimes causes me to miss important details in the assignment instructions. This made it difficult for me to peer review someone else's work accurately, which in turn meant that there was a chance that my own work would be graded incorrectly.
To make matters worse, I discovered that Coursera has a strict two-week refund policy. This means that even if you realize later on that the course is not what you expected, you won't be able to get your money back.
Overall, I was disappointed with my experience on Coursera. While I appreciate the idea of peer review, I don't think it's an effective way to learn complex subjects like programming. If you're considering signing up for a course on Coursera, be aware of the grading system and the refund policy before you commit.
Disappointing Experience with Coursera's Computer Vision Course: Shallow Content, Unrelated Tests, and Lack of Support
I recently decided to give Coursera a try and enrolled in their computer vision course. Unfortunately, my experience with the platform left me feeling quite disappointed. While there were a few positives, such as the convenience of being able to study from home, there were several issues that made the course difficult to complete.
Firstly, I found that the content of the classes was quite shallow. While I was hoping to gain a deeper understanding of computer vision, I felt that the material only scratched the surface of the topic. This made it difficult to apply what I had learned to the tests, which brings me to my second point.
The tests seemed to have little relation to the content of the classes. I found myself struggling to answer questions that I felt had not been covered in the material. This made me feel frustrated and discouraged, as I was not sure how to improve my performance.
Finally, I was disappointed by the lack of pedagogical support. There was no communication channel available, such as email or chat, which made it difficult to ask questions or seek clarification. I felt like I was studying alone, with no guidance or support.
Overall, my impression of Coursera was not a positive one. I felt like I was reading vague material and experiencing tests that were not based on the class content. The course was only five weeks long, but I noticed that many students, including myself, were giving up after the second week. While I appreciate the convenience of online learning, I would not recommend Coursera based on my experience.
Poor Customer Service Overshadows Decent Courses at Coursera
I gotta say, I'm not too impressed with Coursera. I mean, sure, the courses themselves are pretty decent, but the customer service is just terrible. I had a subscription that was a steal of a deal, but unfortunately, I wasn't able to renew it in time because I didn't have the funds available. I reached out to them four times to explain the situation and was told that the system would automatically charge me before my account expired. But guess what? That never happened. So when I tried to resubscribe, they wanted to charge me almost double the original price! Can you believe that?
I've been emailing back and forth with their customer service team, and let me tell you, it's been a nightmare. I've talked to four different people, and none of them seem to have bothered to read any of my previous emails where I explained the situation in detail. It's like they're not even trying to help me out here. I get that mistakes happen, but come on, show a little bit of empathy and understanding, you know?
Anyway, like I said, the courses themselves are pretty good. But if you're someone who values good customer service (and who doesn't, really?), then you might want to think twice before signing up for Coursera.
Disappointing Experience with Coursera's IT Support: A Review
I recently had an experience with Coursera that left me feeling frustrated and disappointed. I had been working hard to complete my IT Google Support certificate, and was in the final stages of completing the last labs. However, I ran into a technical issue with Qwiklabs, the third party that Coursera had partnered with for this particular course.
Despite the fact that I wasn't running any other labs, Qwiklabs kept telling me that I couldn't start a new one. I reached out to Coursera's IT support team for help, hoping that they could offer some guidance or assistance. Unfortunately, they were not very helpful at all.
In fact, they seemed to be more interested in passing the blame onto Qwiklabs than in actually helping me solve the problem. They refused to take any responsibility for the issue, and told me that there was nothing they could do to help me. I even asked for a small extension of just a few hours, but they refused to grant it.
To make matters worse, they still wanted me to pay for the subscription renewal, even though I had been unable to complete the course due to their technical issues. It felt like a real money grab, and I was left feeling frustrated and disillusioned.
After doing some research online, I discovered that my experience was not unique. Many other users had reported similar issues with Coursera's IT support team, and had found them to be unhelpful and unresponsive.
Overall, I would not recommend Coursera to others. While they do offer a wide range of courses and resources, their customer service and technical support leaves a lot to be desired. If you're looking for an online learning platform, I would suggest looking elsewhere.
Coursera's Lack of Transparency and Accessibility: My Frustrating Experience
I recently had an experience with Coursera that left me feeling frustrated and cheated. I had signed up for a free trial of their online courses, which I was excited to try out. However, when the trial period ended, I was shocked to see a charge of $49 on my credit card from Coursera. I had not received any notification that this charge would be coming, and I was not happy about it.
I spent a lot of time trying to figure out how to contact Coursera about this issue. I searched through their help section, hoping to find a phone number or email address where I could submit a complaint. Unfortunately, I found no such information. It seemed like Coursera was intentionally hiding their contact information, which only added to my frustration.
As a consumer, I believe that I have the right to be informed before any charges are made to my account. It is not fair for a company to surprise me with a hefty charge without any warning. I also believe that it is important for companies to be transparent and accessible to their customers. If there is an issue or concern, customers should be able to easily contact the company to resolve it.
Overall, I was disappointed with my experience with Coursera. I hope that they will take steps to improve their communication and customer service in the future. As consumers, we should not tolerate this kind of behavior from companies. It is important to speak out against hegemonism and cheating, and to hold companies accountable for their actions.
I've also experienced this with them.
Coursera's Pricing Policies Need Improvement: A Disappointing Experience
I recently signed up for the Methods and Statistics in Social Sciences Specialization on Coursera. The website advertised a pricing plan of 36 euros per month or 144 euros for a 12-month subscription, after the first free trial week. I was excited to take advantage of this offer and enrolled in the program. However, when I tried to pay for the 12-month subscription a week later, I was surprised to find that the option was no longer available. Instead, the only options presented to me were to pay 36 euros per month or 176 euros for 6 months.
I was disappointed and frustrated by this sudden change in pricing options. It felt like a bait-and-switch tactic, and I couldn't find any way to contact Coursera to ask about the situation. As a potential student, I felt like I was being treated unfairly and that the company was not being transparent about its pricing policies.
Despite my initial enthusiasm for the program, I am now hesitant to continue with it unless the 12-month option is offered to me again at the original price. I believe that Coursera should be more upfront about its pricing policies and make it easier for students to contact them with questions or concerns. Overall, I am disappointed by my experience with Coursera and hope that they will take steps to improve their customer service and communication in the future.
Unleashing the Power of Creativity: A Review of 'The War of Art' by Steven Pressfield
Signed up for a marketing course. Content was overly simplistic and didn't learn any practical knowledge about market research which it was supposed to be. Passed alll courses within first month and stopped monitoring the course. However, after 5 months when I checked my e-statement, I realised Coursera has charged me unknownig for 5 months although my course has already completed and I have received certificate. Didn't even bother to send email regarding the billing and didn't even allow refund when the bill was only charged 3 days previously. Have hence deleted my credit card details and will never sign up any course again and will advise whoever I know not to do it. Your company is a scam and I hope you pay for scamming students who merely want to make their lives better
Mixed Experiences with Coursera: A Review of Their Online Learning Platform and Customer Service
I have had mixed experiences with Coursera, the online learning platform. I enrolled in two courses and found them to be satisfactory. However, my third course, which was Python for beginners and was supposed to be free for one week, turned out to be a fiasco. Unfortunately, I was unable to take the course due to some unforeseen circumstances.
To my surprise, when the free access expired, Coursera charged me without any prior notice. I had intentionally asked them to cancel the course, but they claimed that the cancellation did not work because I missed the exact timing by half an hour. I was disappointed that they were unable to make an exception for me, especially since I had been a loyal customer for over a year and had already spent several hundred dollars on their courses.
I felt that Coursera's response was unfair and it made me regret using their services. I was automatically put off by their lack of understanding and empathy towards my situation. It was disappointing to see that they were more concerned about making a quick buck than retaining a loyal customer.
Despite my negative experience, I must say that Coursera has a wide range of courses to choose from, and their platform is user-friendly. However, I would advise potential customers to be cautious when signing up for courses and to read the terms and conditions carefully. It is also important to note that Coursera's customer service could use some improvement.
In conclusion, while Coursera has its merits, my experience with their customer service has left me with a sour taste in my mouth. I hope that they will take steps to improve their customer service and be more understanding towards their customers in the future.
Disappointing Experience with Coursera's Big Data Specialization Program: A Cautionary Tale
I recently decided to invest in the Coursera platform and paid in full for the Specialization program. Unfortunately, upon accessing the content, I discovered that it was not yet available. Despite this setback, I remained optimistic and eagerly awaited the release of the materials.
When the first course was finally made available, I was disappointed to find that it consisted of less than an hour's worth of material, with the majority of it being introductory in nature. To make matters worse, the cost of the course was a whopping $49. The second course was only slightly longer, with most of the materials consisting of tutorials for open-source tools that were read aloud to me.
It quickly became apparent that I was not getting what I had been promised. Instead of a comprehensive and in-depth learning experience, I was receiving a quick overview that I could have easily found on my own through a simple Google search. I decided to request a refund, but after two weeks of waiting for a response, I was told that the system could not issue a refund because it had been more than two weeks since my initial payment.
To add insult to injury, I later discovered that the first two courses in the Specialization program were actually available for free. This was a major red flag for me, and I would caution anyone considering the "Big Data" Specialization program offered by the University of California, San Diego to think twice before wasting their time and money.
Overall, my experience with Coursera has been disappointing, and I would not recommend it to others. The lack of transparency and the high cost of the courses make it difficult to justify the investment, especially when there are so many other free or low-cost resources available online.
Refund of deducted from my bank account.
I undertook Google Analytics and completed the Preparing Data for Exploration certificate. I could not access the next stage because anytime i go to my profile, the accomplishment, purchase, progress was all blunt and therefore lodged a complaint to Annie a team member from Coursera.
its been almost 3 weeks but cannot access the course but you have debited my bank accounts with the subscription.
I therefore need my refund, because I have no option under the purchase menu to cancel the subscription.
thank you,

The nature of this dispute involves two unauthorized charges
The dispute concerns two unauthorized charges. I signed up for a monthly subscription and decided to cancel after one payment due to lack of time for the classes offered. I cancelled in June 2022, possibly earlier in May. Despite cancellation, I was billed in July, and my account showed 'no purchases.' I found no active subscription yet received another charge in August. I contacted my bank to end the billing agreement and reached out to the business without response. The company's support page suggests using 'chat' for issues, but my account lacks this feature. I've attempted to contact the admin for access and received no reply. I seek a refund for the two charges and request my account be deleted with no further communication.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
I passed my class on Coursera so I was no longer in need of their services. So I tried canceling my subscription but it appeared like "you have no purchase history" so I assumed my account got canceled after I passed my classes. I tried contacting them by the number provided on the website and it just sent me to consumer affairs, I tried finding their email and I couldn't find an email, I also tried to contact them through the chat and it wouldn't let me. They just make it extremely difficult to contact them which also makes it extremely difficult to get my subscription canceled and refunded. I think this website really needs to upgrade their communication skills because they are basically stealing money by making it extremely difficult to contact them for any problems. I recently emailed them today which I finally found the chat log because of someone on YouTube that showed you how to find it, not because the website made it accessible or easy to do it. And they find it extremely unfair for the consumer to have to deal with this. Please have them contact me immediately so I could get my subscription canceled, a refund, and so they could fix their communication. I am lucky to have the time and the knowledge to be able to contact you and some are not lucky and it is not fair for them to just accept the fact that they're gonna get charged and they can't do anything about it.
I cannot use the online training and This company cannot be contacted to cancel nor can they be reached to do so-Their phone number always says they are closed and their online solutions to cancel always says, "Oops! Something went wrong". Yet, they charging me for nothing!
I have canceled a premium subscription and received the following email confirming that. Forwarded message From: Subscription Service Date: Fri, Sep 2, 2022 at 9:47 PM Subject: Premium Subscription Cancellation Confirmation To: [Redacted] "We're sad to see you go. Hi [Name], We've successfully canceled your premium subscription, and you'll no longer be charged. You have access to all courses in the premium catalog until September 02, 2023. We hope to see you back on our platform soon!" Then I found out that I have not received the refund 20 days later.
I've tried everything to cancel my subscription and to even get in contact with someone on the website but *** makes it impossible to do either. There is no "manage my subscriptions" tab on my account so I cannot manage it. I want to cancel! No, I don't have multiple accounts; just one. I feel like they do this so they can continue taking money from you in hopes you give up on trying to cancel.

Great concept but when you find you don't have the time to cancel your subscription they make it impossble to cancel. No one answers phone and there is no web link to hit "cancel". This is basically theft. Don't join.
You get double charged in a single day every month and there is no customer service to deal with for the issue.
BEWARE. AVOID. RUN.
