Craigslist craigslit

I live in Missouri. Craigslist here is loaded with nuthing but crap. I gave up using them as a job source. Its just not worth it. Ive been applying for jobs there all week. Stoped 3 days ago and still the fake job adds come rushing in my email. I applied for a receptionist position at a vet clinic on monday. Got an email redirecting me to some other site with more information about the job. Beware of the ones that ask if you would like to further your education on the bottom of the job info page. Since I was considering furthering my career in veterinary study I accidentally clicked yes. I tryed to go back and change it but it would not let me. Then I got a call from some place that claimed to be a job screening place for the position I had applied for. Receptionist for a vet clinic. They asked me questions about the job and my infomation. All sounded very legit. I had no worries. Until...they asked if I had internet access. Internet access? What kind of receptionist job requires you to have internet access? A little worried but then reasured that my job application was accepted and the next step was for the hiring manager to contact me. Well...no manager contacted me. Just some telemarketer calling me from a 1800 # telling me i asked for info to further my education. I hung up on them. They've called once or twice a day for the last 4 days. SCAM! How does a job posting for a vet clinic receptionist end up being a money grubbing, furthering your educaiton, calling twice a day, harrasing company? LATEST SCAM... As far as ive seen...you get an email that tells you they only entended this job offer to so many people and they saw your resume posted and they are interested in you, once you click on the job link it will take you to a webpage with more information about the job, appearing to be some employment listing jobsite. THINGS TO LOOK FOR WITH THIS KIND OF SCAM...IT SAYS THE COMPANY IS CONFIDENTAL (###), AND THERE IS A QUESTION ON THE BOTTOM OF THE INFO PAGE THAT ASKS IF YOU ARE THINKING ABOUT FURTHERING YOUR EDUCATION. EVEN IF YOU CLICK NO, IT WILL TAKE YOU TO THE NEXT STEP AND THEY WILL CALL AND HARASS THE HELL OUT OF YOU. The job was a fake job listing posted to get your information. PEOPLE BECAREFUL WITH THE SO CALLED "CONFIDENTIAL" JOB SOURCES. If they are really posting a job...they more then likely will not post it confidentual. Mother always says "If it sounds too good to be true...it probably is". Got another one today. Got a lil excited at first cause it said they were offering $17 for an office position and they requested that I look into it. When I clicked on the job link that said office position, it took me to a page that looked like a employment listing jobsite. BUT...It said the company was "CONFIDENTUAL" and that same " Are you thinking about furthering your educatin question with the dot to click yes or no in was there. SCAM! I also clicked on a job link on craigslist claming to be a job posting for postal jobs. Its a SCAM! When you apply for a postal job they require you to take an exam. This scam place gives you a number to call to set up a appointment or whatever for the exam. When you call...they tell you about the open job positions at the postal service...as well as some other info, and then tell you to take the exam...it will only cost you $175. WHAT!? Im pretty sure the US POSTAL SERVICE does not charge you $175 to take their exam to get employment! CRAIGSLIST HAS BECOME A BIG JOKE! ON YOU! DO NOT TRUST ANYTHING ON IT!

I found a Nissan 350Z on Craigslist, placed the order and the seller told me a story about the car.
The seller all of a sudden changed the purchase from craigslist to eBay. After sending the money to an eBay representative, my friend then found the same car in a different town; emailed the seller and the seller gave him a different story and attempted to sell the car to him. Ever since i asked for a refund, "eBay" and the seller stopped contacting me.

I tried to sell a vehicle on craigslist and was personally flagged by them.How is it a "craigslist killer" can post contact info., sell a house, garage sell, etc w/ contact info. but not me?Anyways I let the FCC and SEC do the talkin' for me.I emailed them (co and ceo) a copy of the "open internet" policy filed last year w/ the FCC.What they are doing is UNFAIR and ILLEGAL!Here is the proof of ad w/ identifying tracking numbers... I posted an ad for sharing an apt (my own, where I live). I kept getting bounced for the most ridiculous reasons, like not being able to put in the # of bedrooms or that a person would have his/her own br. I've read the regulations a # of times, I am a professor, so understand language quite well. I would have a reply, then get flagged -- maybe by the person who answered and who would then want no competition? There is no one to help at CL. I strongly recommend boycotting this site, and finding alternatives.

Some individual is trying to scam people out of $750.00 to save a single stray dog of heart worms. I posted that the money could feed a lot of hungry children instead of saving one sick stray dog. The ignorant OP in the pet section deleted the post. That miserable individual thinks saving one stray dog from heart worms makes more sense than feeding hungry children. What A pathetic piece of crap. Craigslist's way of thinking is.

We are a tax preparation service that is looking to hire several new employees for the tax season. We're offering real positions in a tight job market.

Craigslist is not letting us run our ads based on arguments that are not valid conerns, primarily because we have a tax course that employees need to pass in order to work for us.

Seems like a website that allows infinte questionable 'personal' ads should not have a problem with something that actually contributes to society.

Hello,

Hope you're having a pleasant day today
You contacted me applying for the position which I advertised on
*****slist. Do take time to go through this introductory mail and feel
free to pass any questions on.

My profile briefly:
I'm Marc Donalds, 54, and a father of 2 wonderful kids, a successful
entrepreneur and investor, a member of the Angel Investment Network.
I'm also a research journalist with the ENEPRI and I travel every now

all of my activities especially when I'm away and amidst my busy
schedule.
I have had a previous PA who has been very commendable in her
activities and who has been part of my life for the past 6 months, she
has since moved on with her personal life and it has affected me in a
way. I found her previously on the *****slist website and I sincerely
hope I will be able to find someone again who will be as efficient as
she has been.
Please note that you are being hired only on a personal level. All
correspondences would be made and promptly reported to me personally.
The position is part time and home-based meaning you can work most
times from your home as long as you have a regular internet access.
You are also hired on a trial basis for now until we are able to see
how well we fit in, this however does not affect your weekly wage.

my personal, business and financial life. In summary, your activities
as my assistant amongst other things will include;
* Acting as an alternative telephone correspondence;

* A personal reminder for Schedules, programs, flights and keeping me
up to date with them as they come up;

* Carrying out specific projects and research;
* Taking on some of the my responsibilities and working more closely
with management and other staff related to me;
* Making regular contacts and drop-offs on my behalf.
* Handling and monitoring financial activities.
* Processing and taking charge of weekly payments and purchases.
* You will also be a part of my household and a helping hand to issues
as they arise.
* General clerical activities.
Basic wage is $350 a week.
Any extra personal expenses (transport, gas, etc) incurred by you
while on an errand or otherwise will also be reimbursed by me at the
end of each working week.

Carigs kist will not assist a user with any problem. They will not respond to any email questions and will provide no help to a user. They only send endless and identical "faq" responses to any question you ask.

The only solution to their aragant responses are to open another account and start over. They just don't care.

Nothing I ever list on Craigslist gets even a response. You could try to give away a Rolls Royce and still you would only get a bunch of scammers offering to pay with a phony cashiers check.

Craigslist fraud and cheating

Everyone out there, watch out for the convincing sales add on CRAIGSLISTOPTIMIZER.COM who will rip you off for $97 and more expenses incurred as you run a zero to none profit affiliated website using there templates. Basically, this website promises you to make your money back in one day of setting it up. Well, setting it up completely takes more than one day because you have to wait for approval from ebay affiliate partner. Amazon partner was no problem, and so was google adsense. It took me 3 days to finish and upload my affiliate website and of course I did not get the approval from ebay to partner with for no apparent reason like the website claimed could happen. However, they promised that all I need is the approval from amazon to be successful and that I can just turn off the ebay store side of my website when referring people through my product listings.

Well, the main function of the program is to start emailing advertisers on craigslist to see if they are interested in buying products listed on amazon or ebay, which less than likely not because most of those people advertised wanted things either dirt cheap or for free or trade which makes this affiliate business less than demanding. And when I ask for their 100% guarantee refund promise, I get a flat out cuss word of out them insulting me on my lack of success and disclaimed what they had claimed on their website and don't even refund my money at all or even emailing me back to make their case. They did tell me give it 90 days to get result on my first email requesting my refund. Logically, why that long? Well, 120 days later, I had one sale on amazon that is around $5.00 purchase that I earned 20 cents commission on after long days emailing people and paying all those domain registration and hosting fees. What a rip-off this company is.

Oh yeah, when you don't get approved from ebay partner affiliates program, you can't turn off the ebay store part of the website like they claimed also because I test it out myself by emailing it back to myself and guess what, the ebay store is still there and if and when your advertiser even would go through ebay bidding process, you would have to wait for some time (days or weeks) in hope that the person would win the bid and you make money off that 1 to 2% commission off a sale. That is also hoping that the advertiser stays on your web-link to continue the bid (chances are zero because they now can just go straight to ebay and logging into their ebay account, so there goes your commission link hopes lost).

So don't even fall into their lame business advertising, keep your money and time well spent on something else. And any website promoting this website is also a scam. Trust me, I've tried them too.

Craigslist for sale / vehicle

This is not really a complaint towards Craigslist but for someone who is claiming to be selling a 2006 Infiniti G35X for $4400.00. After emailing back and forth with this person he suggested we use a "3rd party" such as eBay Vehicle Purchase Protection Program. This person even gave me a VIN of JNKCV51F56M615917 so I could run a Carfax report. After researching this found it to be a scam!

For anyone who can help the email ([protected]@gmail.com) was used in the ad, luckly I was able to catch this before getting scammed and want to make sure I did what I could to prevent someone else from getting scammed.

If there is anything else I could do please let me know

Craigslist scam and overpayment fake checks

We received an email stating that this person wanted to buy a rug from us. They told us they were hearing impaired, and just moved into a new town and had movers delivering their things. Then we received another email after making a deal, that their bank accidentally wrote out their check to us for a much larger amount ($2, 450.00). They claimed that they were desperate for their money to pay the movers. They told us that the cashiers check would be delivered via UPS. They then asked if we would take the check to our bank, cash it, and then wire it to their fake moving company. Well we did what they asked because we felt sorry for this person due to their disability and just wanted to help her. The money was wired Western Union as per their request. They would pay the WU fee and for the rug (which was only $150.00). We cashed the check and wired the money. It was about 24 hrs later when we realized that this was a total scam! We received another email from the same person (Jessica Spencer) [protected]@yahoo.com asking us if we would please help her buy a car, her bank accidentally cut the check to us, and she wanted us to wire the money to the seller so she would not sell the car to someone else. At that point we emailed them back and said no, to stop payment on the check because we would not do it.
Since then, we have had to cover ALL of the lost money ($2, 450.00) + some, and have been to our bank, the police, called Western Union, and filing complaints wherever we can. Please do not fall for this scam. These people are terrible and pray on kind and innocent people. Thank you for allowing me to write about our situation. My hope is that if we get the word out, these people will be arrested for their crimes.

also the "person's" name is not jessica spencer. they are nigerians who are using "american-sounding" names and typically use yahoo.com, gmail.com etc since those are free accounts and they can open them quickly.

as long as they get the victim to wire money western union, they get off scott free bc you cannot track these things.

They tried that with me, but as soon as they said that the secretary "accidentally overpaid" me (I was selling for $200, they sent me $3, 000 fake check and asked me to hurry and deposit and wire them the extra via WU) I knew i was on to a scam.

the scammer was on gmail so got into my contact list and was telling me how "he" "trusted me" that i would make good and send him the overpayment for his daughter who needed the money for her school needs. HAHAHA He thinks he's gonna trick me with my own honesty? I don't think so...

so i told him that i will just return the $3, 000 check to him and he can just send me another check for the correct $200 amount, and i need his mailing address. :)

he said no, do not worry about that, just hurry and deposit the fake check and quickly wire him the money. he gave me an address and WU #. So i looked up the address and told him this address did not exist. he said that uh, his "shipper' gave him that WU address, not to worry about it, just wire it to the account #.

I would just love to break his/her neck! the whole lot of 'em. May they all perish in the lowest pits of hades.

I would like to add another peson as a scammer on craigslist. Dayton Lanphear of Sisters Oregon his e-mail is bearsculptor@hotmail.com I purchased a used Stihl rototiller from him that I found out had a worn out gearbox. After trying to contact him by email and receiving no response I had to call him. He nervously "skirted" the issue and lied about the whole problem. As a business owner I am shocked that he would treat people this way. Do not trust this man! He will rip you off! People like him are a bad example of a human being! He has a wood sculpting business that he alone operates.

Hi,

I just sent an email but not sure it went through.
Been using Craigslist for a long time but now it is almost impossible.
Go to Restaurant Managers (at least in Toronto) and you will find pages of Doordash. You can barely see any real jobs.
Please do something about this or many won't use you anymore.
Thanks.

Craigslist Fraudulent cashier check issued

My client located in London, England, whom I'd secured through a Craigslist.com posting, agreed to forward payment for services to me via USPS. Craigslist.com served as an agent to transfer his London currency to USD & sent a cashier's check payable to me in the amount of$3400 USD. After depositing the check, my financial institution advised me the check was a fraud (confirmed via their investigative services). Meanwhile, I have over 10 NSF fees to my personal account (which drained my account) & no funds to eat this month!

Craigslist flagged and removed a total of 7 postings made by Infinity bed frame on the 17 of November 2023, we believe it was because we posted in the wrong category. As this was an honest mistake, we would like to get our money back and do it right by posting in the right spot. thanks in anticipation of your response
