When I got my license I told them when the dmv asked that I had high cholesterol as a heart issue and took lipitor. The lady checked that I had a heart issue even though I have never heard of this being a driving issue. My doctor faxed in the wrong portion of the paperwork to the alabama dmv and without my knowledge they suspended my drivers license for a dangerous heart condition and I should not be driving without my doctor's full ok and she didnt send in the whold fax. Well, I had a wreck on january 10, 2024. I do not remember anything because my airbag did not work and I hit my head. I was the second driver and rear ended the first driver. I had damage to my right rear bumper and so did she even though my car was totalled from hitting her directly behind in the middle of her car from what it looked like in the police report. Driver 1 stated to police she had state farm insurance and gave him her insurance number. I had full coverage and gave him my card as well. However, without my knowledge, my license was suspended due to the heart issue. My insurance company denied the claim. I called and called the other driver and my insurance company because I didnt know what to do. Finally in march, I get a letter from ccs collections stating I owe all state property and amp;casualty insurance company. I began paying them $100 from my checking account to settle the debt. Within a week I got a letter from al dmv saying ccs has written them stating I owe 9000 for wreck and my license will be suspended. I call ccs and they say if I keep paying they will write a letter so I can get license back. I waited a month and no letter. I called and called nothing. I started to get suspicious so I reexamined the police report. I called state farm and they said yes, the number driver 1 gave was from an expired (11/23) insurance policy in her name however I overheard that she still has other policies with state farm. I asked if state farm is associated with all state because all state is sueing me. They said absolutely not. They ended up calling me and providing me with lots of information about what to do. I stopped payment on all activity with ccs. I called them and asked why all state was sueing me when state farm was the insurance company of record on accident report. They said to call all state. I opened a new appeal claim with all state for the reason there was no way I caused the damage to driver 1's right rear bumper from the direction of the accident. I asked if they looked at the car and took pictures before it was repaired if it was even repaired. They said it was repaired at one of their shops. The results of my appeal were I was at fault because I was behind her. Then driver 1 calls me after all those months and screams at me saying I didnt have insurance and I better pay etc I told her I did have insurance however my drivers license was suspended. She cut me off and continued her rant and hung up when I questioned her about why she lied to the police about her insurance. It is now illegal to lie to the police; however, obstruction of justice is a crime. Anyway, I have gotten back one payment I sent them from my bank after I explained the situation and I will not pay them anymore. My license is suspended for 3 years now and there is nothing I can do about it.

It's completely understandable to be upset when your license was suspended without your knowledge due to a miscommunication about your health condition. The car accident and subsequent complications only add to the stress. Having your insurance claim denied and then being pursued by collections from Allstate when State Farm was involved is beyond confusing and unfair.

You did the right thing by reexamining the police report and contacting both insurance companies to clarify the situation. It's unfortunate that despite your efforts, your appeal was denied and your license remains suspended.

It's important to keep documenting everything and perhaps seek legal advice to explore any possible actions you can take. Hang in there, and I hope you find a resolution to this incredibly difficult situation soon.
