If I get charged for a late payment due to your technical problems I'm going to be pissed. Get you crap fixed. I can't even contact anyone due to making payment for someone else and him having the card. He is currently overseas. So recommendations for making a payment and not by snail mail? I have proof of your sites being down and will gladly take the info i have including the negative ratings on this crap card, close the card out this week and cut and cancel it out and dare this company to charge extra fees like I have seen, to a lawyer. There's never an American speaking person on the line when calling and very rude and unprofessional. My 3 capital one cards have never been rude nor charged me for bogus charges, like a credit increase. Anything to make a buck, right?!

I am having the same problems. In addition, I've been receiving NUMEROUS calls from [protected] I looked it up online and it said that it belonged to a Verizon retail store in Rockford Illinois. I called them to ask them to stop calling, as I assumed it was an error. It was Credit One Bank. Never left any messages for me to call them back identifying themselves. I cannot make payments online or by phone. I am on the phone now with automated. So far they want to know how old I am and offering me Roadside Service, a $100.00 monthly reward. I cannot get past the "free" offers in order to make a payment. It's asking me to press 1 to receive the shopping certificate. Does not give an option to decline. Then a rude voice says "have a good day". CANNOT MAKE A PAYMENT to this place !

my payment is due tomorrow, I got a page saying I'm using a device they don't recognize and they will send a varivication code. NO CODE ! called back, told I should get the code in 24-48 hrs! Meanwhile, my payment is going to be late, never have I been late, and can't pay over the phone. I'm pissed.

Credit One's website is ALWAYS down! I've had an account with them for a couple of years now and it has been down more than a dozen times. Absolutely unacceptable! Their excuse is always that they are "upgrading their website"! Well I've been doing business with them for a couple of years now and apparently they now hold the title for the longest upgrade in history! They've been upgrading now since 2016! High fees, late fees charged if you are more than 3 seconds late while trying to make a payment because their website is down. It's impossible to actually speak to someone on the phone. I'm trying to rebuild my credit and this is the crap that I have to put up with in order to do so as not many other cards will give me a shot. Except Capital One thankfully! Their fees are high as well, but their customer service is stellar! And their website is never down! Credit One's customer service is non-existent! As soon as I possible can, I am cutting all ties with these clowns and doing business with ONLY American credit companies again! Who are crooks too, but not nearly as bad! Buyer beware and enter at your own risk!

I had no problems for a couple of years but the last maybe three there was nothing but problems! I'd go online to make a payment as usual and wasn't able to do so. Was told that my account was frozen and to call a number. I called it ten times and each time I would be on hold for a unremembered amount of time then it would hang up on me! TEN times. I tried calling the number on the back of my card and it wouldn't go through.
My husband recently got a card with them, forgetting the problems I had and when I went in to check the balance I couldn't remember the sign in information. Went to the recovery page, entered the information, hit continue and...nothing. It was an empty javascript button! Didn't go anywhere!
I then decided to try to register and maybe I'd get a different link. Entered the information, hit the button and immediately got the error that everything with an asterisk was required. Please fill in the information in red. THE ENTIRE FORM WAS RED! It removed all the information automatically.
I'm reporting this company. They are FRAUDS. Seriously do not do business with this company. You're credit will be ruined! And as a side note, if you already have a card with them and it's in good standing LEAVE IT ALONE. Cut up the card and never use it but don't close the account. That too will damage your credit.

My 96 year old Dad has this card. I take care of my parents' finances. The card was opened when they were taken in by fraud, and credit ruined, in 2013.
Everything went along fine for several years with signing in to make payments. Well... About 6-8 months ago I couldn't sign in. I called... Credit One said their IT Dept was working on updating the website (should be done in two weeks) and they waived the $9.95 fee for me to make a payment over the phone... Well. After about 4 months of doing that their IT was STILL working on the website. Then, they wouldn't waive the fee... So... I have had to start sending payments by snail mail to ensure we aren't charged the fee. And, of course, they won't update the account to begin sending statements again... So, I am copying old statements... This is CRAZY!
So... Stupid Me... About a year ago (before this started happening on my Dad's account) I opened an account for me. All was well until a few weeks ago... I couldn't sign in. Of course, no password was emailed... I am sitting here recovering from surgery and decided to get them on the phone. They asked me if I was using Chrome. No... Explorer. So... I opened Chrome, while on the phone, and went through the process to email me the info... Nothing... Called back an hour later. Well... Since I tried Chrome I can now use Explorer... I told them I had tried that multiple times prior to using Chrome... So, then he wanted to know was my Explorer and Chrome up-to-date... I said YES. My company is updating my computer constantly... He took my payment (due today) and waived the fee... AFTER I insisted. Of course, he didn't ask how much I wanted to pay and just processed the minimum payment... UGH! He asked if I was satisfied with the outcome today... I said only if I received the email to reset my password... He said he would forward my concerns to IT...He said now I don't have to worry about the payment I needed to make today. That if I have other issues I can call "when I have time" and they will help me... I informed him "having the time" is an issue. And, that I had already spent 2 hours on this issue today. He was sorry. . . And, yes... The calls are going to a foreign country. This is a NIGHTMARE!

I made payment on Dec. 3, 2018 and now it is Dec. 6th 2018 and got message saying my payment is late. This better not ruin my credit because Credit One site is down. If my credit goes bad because of this I will be very angry. I was trying to build up my credit not tear it down.

Same. Got a text saying my payment was late but it’s bever been due this early in the month. Go to website to pay, and it won’t load. I try to call and it just gets a busy signal. Perhaps it’ll be sorted out soon I suppose. It always turns out alright in the end. If it’s not alright, then it’s not the end.

I made a BS $8.97 payment on November 30th. (I still have no idea what that fee is for but I am going to find out) Today 12/6/18 I get a text message saying my account is past due. I called they said call back. I have a confirmation # of my payment. If they screw with late fees or wrong reporting to Major Credit Companies who is with me on a Class Action Law Suit?!

Got a text just 15 min ago saying my monthly payment is past due and to please make a payment today... SERIOUSLY? We closed this account over 3 months ago and we have a letter showing the account is closed with a ZERO balance. This company is the worst! NEVER want to ever hear about them nor will I ever recommend them. Website is down and so is the [protected] number... VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!

Same here. First of all I have no balance. They never notified me that my yearly fee of 25 dollars was due. I have tried countless times to set up notifications to no avail. I have 714 credit score and everything is paid on time except credit one because they set it up that way, They want you to pay late fees. I have been trying to access their website for two days now but it never loads. Every other website I go to loads but theirs. I find it funny that they can notify me that my yearly fee is one day late but yet they cannot send me a notification beforehand letting me know that it's due so I can pay it on time. This company is low down and dirty I feel. Very shady goings on there. cancel and run. It's worth a couple points on your credit score to get away from this shylocks

I'm unable to manage my account or make a payment as I can't sign into my account online or in the app. I even called them to have them fix this issue. I was transferred to 4 different people, all who couldn't figure out how to get into my account or change the password! They tried to reset my password over 10 times and it wouldn't work, it kept saying the system is down. I spent 2 HOURS on the phone with them. Days later and still the same problem. I can't even see what's going on in my account or get into it to make a payment. This has caused me a late payment, that they promised to correct but how do I know since I still can't access my account! I can't wait for the Class Action Lawsuit against this Company.

Somebody has to initialize the class action lawsuit. They don't just happen. Small claims court cost around $30, but you also have to go to their city to file it. The Bank is listed in Las Vegas NV.
Because there is only "nickel and dime" transaction complaints, people are not willing to go to an attorney because the fees are more than the amount being ripped off by the credit card company.
It may very well be that they are purposefully allowing the web site to fail for long periods of time so that many will not make their payment and have to pay the $26 late fee. The way the contract is set up, this company takes advantage of a generous cash flow arrangement, you make a payment and the funds are received by them within 24 hours, but are not available to you for a few days. All fees and penalty amounts are pure profit. So to set up the system to fail is to their financial benefit.
Did you ever notice how Credit One never warns you to make a payment or they will charge a penalty? Every other credit card company does.
If enough of us complain to the regulating body (http://consumeraffairs.nv.gov/About/File_a_complaint/) it may get some attention. I would suggest we all file a complaint. As you know, it may feel good to vent here, but it really doesn't resolve anything.
So file a complaint, document the issues.
If we have this card, it means we are a sub prime borrower, which means we are a higher risk for paying back, which means we likely don't have the funds to waste fighting this. To file a class action lawsuit is not cheap and without evidence of fraud as defined in the Nevada statutes, it means a civil lawsuit, which is expensive.
So, since this company is regulated by the OCC, a government agency, they will do more than anyone.
Remember: The number of complaints filed means that action will be taken. With only one or two complaints, it will not go anywhere.
I personally am going to pay this card off and get rid of it.
But I am going to file a complaint.
Because the web site was not working correctly, I could not make a payment for several days and even still it will not go through. But now I am charged $26 which isn't a big deal, but now my credit has a mark on it.

That IS a big deal to me.

You don't have to go to their city to file a small claims suit. In fact, you're better off with large companies to file it locally. Just make sure you pay the extra to have them served in their city at their national corporate offices. Cool thing is, 99.9% of them won't send a lawyer team to your court date. They'll settle long before.

Do we know why the site is down? Unable to access account for a couple of days now. No answer at number provided. I only receive online billing statements, so can't even send a snail mail payment. Any thoughts ? Filing a complaint sounds like a valid way to go. Just reinforces that cash purchases are the best purchases!

Same problem, also made a payment by debit card on 10/31/2019, that has still not been credit to my account as of Saturday. They charge a fee of $9.95 to pay by debit card and the funds should be available. It is a big scam, so they can hold onto your money. I want to know how file a lawsuit. This has been going on for a long time. The money is never available the following business day. THESE PEOPLE ARE CROOKS ...WE PEOPLE NEED TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS!

WOW! AND I thought it was just me they were ovewr charging and putting 25.00 late fees on my account every month when i had given them two payments earlier than the due date ~! Also they raised my credit for a 50.00 fee but never got the credit limit, ... go figure. I cut up the card a year ago and they are tel;ling me i still have purchases from a few months ago on it at a maverick gas station and I told them it wasnt me i have no card and they refused to credit my account for it... it irks me that this business is so unprofessional. I have had this card for 4 yrs and never once have I been over the limit or late in payments but the card still gets charged plus the monthly fee and plus the annual fee... twice a year? Yes global settlement is good.. and those little purchases add up to big money when youre talking 1 million clients. Sign me up !

Yo! These people are crooks! Recently obtained a Credit One Bank CC to rebuild my credit history. I tried to log in multiple times from my home computer, cell phone, and work computer. It seemed Credit One Bank prevents new credit card holders from logging into their website to delay paying the balance and then charge late fees when it's past 5:00pm on the due date. I called and spoke with a rep who charged me another $7 to tell me I had incurred a $29 late fee! Credit One Bank have suspicious and fraudulent practices with the intent of squeezing every penny out of people who are trying to improve their lives. I am cutting up my credit card as soon as I pay off my balance. They can keep their scandalous plastic. Never again!
