CROTCHMARK
If you are desperate for any job and willing to work for people who have no experience as managers, CROSSMARK is hiring. A couple things to note. (1) The pay and hours are crap. (2) They dazzle their clients with "service excellence" but it's all for show. No senior executive in the company ever attends the service meetings, though they will appear in a glossy video. (3) Turnover is horrendous, about 70% in the retail services jobs. (4) They tell you "benefits available for part time" but it's not worth the money you will pay, and the company doesn't pay any part of the premiums. (5) It's a "good ole boy club". I've heard the company paid out $5 Million in bonuses this year, and HALF of that money went to the top 4 executives. The other half was paid out to the other 4, 000 full time employees. Part timers got no bonus. (6) If you are lucky enough to score a full time position, save your money, because at the drop of a hat they could change you to part time, causing you to lose your insurance. Of course this saves them from having to pay higher unemployment insurance premiums. So, like I said, if you are willing to be treated like a lowly maggot for a few bucks, call CROSSMARK today!
Treatment of employees
I lasted 1- 1/2 years, and put up with many false allegations, (one for trying to steal 5 pieces of fatty uncooked bacon, really?), being told I could not work until I produced a letter from my doctor stating I could handle the position as a diabetic (they claim I requested this, I never did). I've put up with being treated as a sub-human by my supervisor, going weeks without work, yet the new hires are always working. And being told there's not enough work for everyone, yet they continue to hire people. I've had it...No one deserves to be treated this way...
Forge Lady...I've heard its gotten worse. Its so amazing that a company can treat people this way and get away with it. I'm surprized the labor board hasn't come down on them.
I can't say it enough, DO NOT WORK FOR THIS COMPANY, THEY TREAT YOU LIKE "CRAP".
Time to go to the labor board perhaps? We have relatives working together at the Edison Sam's Club but they are all ES's not RES's. Your situation could be discrimmination, favoritism, or other. You could also consult an attorney but why would you even bother with all the disrespect you are being shown? This is nothing compared to what our RES went through (and I don't mean to make light on your situation or anything), but the stories being told about CrossMark's lack of interest in their employees are endless and along the lines of what one would consider cruelty to animals, which is considered a crime. A suggest a Class Action lawsuit against this company if people have the self-worth and courage to start one! I experience the nit picking every time I work but I prevail and I love challenges and this company knows how to challenge you. They certainly play games with your mind and livelihood. Appeal their termination notice. They knew your mother worked there when they offered you the position; you did nothing wrong. If they did their background checks like they are supposed to, one of you would never have been hired to begin with if it was their policy!
"whistle blower" retlation. When I was hired by Crossmark, my mother was also hired. The RES that hired us, is the same one who promoted me to a Lead position. My mother was still working with me. Nothing was said about direct relatives working together. This same RES was the one who pushed to get me her RES position. I was promoted and my mother was still working with me.
I recived a call from my boss, about three weeks ago, saying it was brought to her attention that there was a violation of company policy to have my mother working in the same store. Her boss was "really bummed out and didn't want to lose me". I was told that I could resign - "but we don't want you to do that", I could go to the Bristol store - "you don't want to drive that far" so "you need to git rid of your mom". I was told to contact my old boss - who was still with Crossmark with the Walmart division, to have her transfered. I asked what kind of time line I had as my mother was 75 and finding a job wasn't easy. I was never given an answer.
I contacted my old boss, she had no openings. Mom has been searching for another job. I had a conservation with my boss on 1/19/2012, she called me asking if I had this problem taken care of. I told her my mother was still working, there were no openings with Walmart. My mother was lokking for a job with no luck. I started to say "So, you want me to fire her with out another job to go to?' and the phone went dead. I tryed to discuss this with mt boss 4 times that day.
Thats the last contact I had with my boss until I recived my termination call on 1/21/2012. On that call I was able to ask "So, does this mean my mother still has a job? " Answer "Oh absolutly!".
Before my promotion to Lead, there was another lead whose mother was also working at the same store. When I was promoted to RES, that lead's mother was still working there. My old boss, "created an opening" - she fired a Walmart rep. and moved this other lead's mother into this position. I have e-mails about this move.
I think, could this be the real reason I was temed?
Check out Caroline Heldman's facebook page. She is a frequent contributor on FOX and has a Crossmark link as written by a former rep. Well worth the read.
"Worse" is only putting it mildly! I am surprised that there are only 84 (now including mine) complaints made on this company, perhaps most of the employees don't know about this website. Should tell everyone on facebook to let people know we have a right to speak out without the company retaliating against us or making our lives miserable for being there. I am not happy about the boss bullying lately and it should be outlawed (I thought there was a work bullying law?) but I could be wrong. This company has no compassion and all they care about is providing their employees with inaccurate, and confusing information. As fast as something comes out of their mouths, they change it to something else. Their HR and IT depts should all be terminated and replaced with competent people who want to resolve issues. They solicit your ideas, thoughts and suggestions and then take the credit themselves. Totally unprofessional and truly unbelievable that companies like this exist and manage to stay in business. It doesn't say much for the "outsourcers" who hire them either.
This is absolutely correct what this person is saying...it's much worse now since she's left. She actually had it good and even with the latest management team, it has caused much friction and a hostile environment. It is no longer fun to go to work. The leaders are a bunch of liars and back stabbers and cannot be trusted. You are very lucky to be out of there!

Review Headline
Terrible they're not even to IRS standards on paying miles driven, drive time etc.
What do you like about working at CROSSMARK?
At least it's a paycheck. Work may be sporadic but high hours when it does come in equals a bigger paycheck. At least Tech Support and some though very few individuals at Field Support "care" about the reps calling in and things. At least my RS and RM "care" about me.
What do you dislike about working at CROSSMARK?
Lack of work or very low hours and sporadic schedule. Not paid on miles driven or drive time the same way Mosaic or other merchandising firms do it or even like the trucking companies do.
Have to deduct 40 miles each way from home to first store and from last store to home. They consider it your commute time etc. When the time comes to cough up the cash and pay accurately on miles driven, drive time etc. or to pay anything the CEO cops out and would rather set these "corporate and company policies" than just pay his employees both at the HQ and in the field. That's what it all boils down to is corporate greed and not wanting to pony up the cash when the time comes to compensate their employees. Can you say Federal investigations and law suits here. Shoot a bunch of disgruntled reps and employees just sued Premium Retail in the past few years.
HQ can't get it's act together and they irritate the managers in this part of the nation and all over the 50 states etc. to where at times of the year there is no manager over the region or regional retail supervisor because they up and quit out of frustration.
What advice would you give to senior management?
Hire some good lawyers because you will need em. Pay us accurate miles based off of the same systems that other merchandising firms like Mosaic and others use as well as the trucking companies. Pay 35 cents or higher per mile starting with the first mile driven to the last mile driven and make 0 no zipola deductions. With gas through the roof every penny counts. Pay drive time accurately. Loose this Google Maps jazz on the sales track and pay roll entries drive time and miles entry thing and go back to the old system of actually trusting your employees to accurately report both of these.
Put in the drop downs back on sales track and pay roll entries for administrative and supplemental time as well and again trust your employees. It shouldn't take a phone call to FS or an email for that matter to report these and no you don't need to know the zenith details of your workers days and what they were doing during the time reported just the minor details. Work on communicating better on all levels.
Your field reps are out here going what on earth is going on and not even our regional supervisors or managers know because you over at HQ are not talking to us or them. Find good reasons to retain your employees before we have a mass exodus on our hands. No one wants to work for a tight fisted penny pincher who won't pay his or her employees accurately and based on industry standards. Stop marching to the beat of your own drum. FYI the way you are or are not paying us miles driven etc. is in direct violation of State labor laws and Federal laws. It even violates IRS Code.

Terminated because I was disruptive to the team???
I was terminated over the phone while I was working an event because I was disruptive to the team. When I tried to ask the caller to explain I was told to contact HR if I had any questions. I have been calling and emailing HR and employee relations now for over a week with no response. I am sure my supervisor told her supervisor some bold face lie to get me...

This company is operated by criminals. As a data collection associate I was paid by the minute and treated like raw sewage. Their endless demands were for the privilege of having a part time job with no benefits, a net loss on the travel time, and and income level far below the poverty line. It was like a fantasy camp in a Calcutta sweat shop without the 2 minute goji juice break. If you have the odd habit of eating or urinating during business hours you will have to pay them extortion for the privilege as these activities are not factored into total minutes calculated for the particular job. As an extra bonus my supervisor, who claimed to be a christian, was more like satan's hand puppet and would lease your entire family's internal organs to earn a quarterly bounus. Like working for pus-oozing hookworms? These are your folks.

I dont think its not about hiding anything but starting over and learning from your mistakes. If you have been an employee for that long with no issue why would they want to get rid of established hard working people.
cold-blooded weasels
If you like working for talentless, parasitical weasels you will enjoy working for this company. Every single fiber of their efforts are focused on how to steal from you and put the money in their pockets. I am referring to their pay-by-the-minute positions whereby they quote arbitrary rates of job completion speed which do not even encompass a break to urinate. Be forewarned. These weasels are some of the lowest form of human ###.

PLEASE REPORT your complaints to the Better Business Bureau (File the complaint with the National office, and the State/local/area offices) - AND your State Labor Board! You can locate these offices via the phonebook- look under State Government, and you will see a phone number for Information- they can connect you(make sure you ask them for the direct phone number!). State Labor Boards are overseen by the Dept of Labor on the Federal level. These wrong CAN be made right through these offices.
The BBB will make sure the complaint is on file with their office- and often they will confront the company, and give them a certain amount of time to resolve the complaint. Meanwhile, others who check with the BBB will find out they, in fact, HAVE numerous complaints files against that company. Currently, Crossmark is NOT a BBB member! They can STILL take, and file a complaint against them so the public is aware.
The State Labor Board WILL take a complaint if is is something any company has done that is against Labor laws. They have the power to fine a company, shut a company down, etc. They will look into the matter, and can take the company to a Hearing, and make judgements against a company(making them pay, literally, for abusing workers). For example, if there is discrimination, or they do not pay you properly, and you win the case, they can order them to pay up to 3 times the amount owed. They are there to protect the workers. Our tax dollars fund these offices, so use them! All records on complaints are permanently filed with their offices. Often, you can even find out if they've had other complaints filed against them- they are not allowed to go into specifics, but they may let you know that there have been previous complaints (which will help your cause).
Just posting online is ok, but if you want resolution for their actions, FILE A COMPLAINT with the Labor Board! They WILL take action if the company is breaking Labor Laws! Every company HAS to comply with those Labor Laws, and if they have found a loop hole, then contact your Legistative office, and let them know what is going on. If the Labor Boards hands are tied because of the type of business structure the company has set up, tell your Legislature that this needs to be addressed. Then, they can pass laws to prevent the companies from sliding through loop holes to avoid abiding by Labor Laws.
The more people who ACT, the better off we all are!
PLEASE CONTACT these offices, and get these complaints on file ASAP. (there might be time restrictions- they will ask why you didn't file when it happened; sometimes delays can prevent them from taking action on your behalf- but call NOW and do everything you can to stop this company's appalling actions! They are there to HELP YOU!
HOW TRUE, , , , THEY LIE THEY STEAL THEY CHEAT.
Relish this joyous time of the year Crossmark employees when you are
showered in an avalanche of gratitude for your service in the form of a
thank-you card. Bask in a sea of opulence as those above you share in
a bounty of Christmas bonuses garnered from the benefits of your
slave labor. Give thanks to the amoral nematodes for enabling you
to save up all year to buy one of your loved ones a junior-chiapet.
You add you extra time in your time card at the end of the day for your report. You can add the time for going to the bathroom. They don't state it, but you can add extra time and they will pay you.
Liars ,Cheeters, and Thieves!
Stay away...stay far away! You will be bullied by clients and treated like crap with this company. At some point you will start to feel depressed, then you will ask yourself why am I so glummy. Soon you will realize it is not YOU it is what they are doing to YOU. You will not have any possitive feedback, or support. Once your in, you are OWN YOUR OWN to survive. If your lucky you will get a raise in about year, of .05 cents. Not kidding here. And thats if your killing yourself to do the best job you can. Then you will need to work alone with the clients ( if your FT ) and good luck with that. They will treat you like you work for them at 70, 000.00 a year and expect as much. No support from your very own boss, they always side with the clients because...thats where they get the money! This is a 3rd party company that under pays the field staff and gives nothing to you for success. They will lie, cheet, and steele to keep a client and if they have to throw you under the bus to keep one...THEY WILL! Stay away and keep your possitive attitude, another job oppertunity will come. Yes, I still work for them, but unless I get fired for something I am stuck. I do have an interview next week, so I am hopeful that will work out. Good Luck to the new folks
very helpful. I have heard this before so its a good advice warning
This complaint is very suited to the company...whats wrong with you! Go away and let people say what they wish idiot. Have a nice day
Its people like you that make Crossmark what it is. Why don't you be a man and go say this on the Crossmark community messages. Why write where no one looks, Chicken ###.
Zero Tolerance Policy???
My boyfriend was employed by Crossmark for the last 5-6 months. He was just fired last Friday for multiple reasons. First and foremost he was at work everyday he was scheduled unless weather didn't permit and took and passed the food safety course/test to advance in the company. The reasons given to him for his termination were not having his shirt tucked in, wearing unauthorized head gear (i.e., his stocking cap), not wearing a beard guard, not wearing a name tag (which was never issued to him), and leaving work 20 minutes early and still reporting the full hours worked. This was told to him by his main supervisor via phone call, who was apparently on a three-way call with the "auditor". This fact was withheld from my boyfriend. He should have been informed of everyone that was on the phone call at the beginning. He felt ambushed because he was talking to the supervisor and this man starts in, talking and accusing. That should be illegal. Let me start by saying he is 6'0" tall and it is very hard to find him dress shirts, that are long enough, without paying an arm and a leg for them. He was wearing the stocking cap because Crossmark doesn't offer any company jackets or hats and he always has to set up in the Frozen Food section. The beard guard was on him, he forgot it. The name tag like mentioned above was never issued to him. With regards to leaving early, the "auditor" said he watched him leave and my boyfriend responded by saying if you did see me leave you would know what kind of car I drive, to which there was no comment. He then told them they were going to find a reason one way or another, no matter what he had to say and hung the phone up. Crossmark should be MADE to inform any potential employees that they have a zero-tolerance policy in effect. My boyfriend was subject to a surprise audit. by the company, and was told afterward of his "violations". The next day he was completely off the schedule. There were no warnings given, just straight to termination. This company is horrible. They advertise full time hours but never give the employee a full week. My boyfriend might have averaged 24 hours a week, if he was lucky. They also had him traveling between 4 different stores in our area with no mileage reimbursement. Plus during the holiday season he worked at least two 12-hour shifts between two (2) stores that are 45 minutes apart, driving time. Once he passed his food safety course he was promised a raise, immediately, and to be made head of his current store. They gave him the raise 2 weeks later (they pay weekly) and then transferred him to another store to work under someone else. I would not recommend that anyone apply to this company unless you want to be yanked around like a dog on a chain and blamed for things that are beyond their control. Crossmark should have the BBB after them!
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
Your boyfriend couldn't even ask for a nametag and apparently wasn't wearing the proper uniform.. of course they didn't put him in charge of his own store.
First of all your complaint is ill founded as you have pointed out several heath violations of your boy friend. Just to quote you here "The reasons given to him for his termination were not having his shirt tucked in, wearing unauthorized head gear (i.e., his stocking cap), not wearing a beard guard, not wearing a name tag (which was never issued to him), and leaving work 20 minutes early and still reporting the full hours worked
Then you try to find lame excuses for him.
"He was wearing the stocking cap because Crossmark doesn't offer any company jackets or hats and he always has to set up in the Frozen Food section.
Crossmark offers a cap and an apron for demos. Stocking hats are unsanitary, and against food handlers regulations, so he failed this question on the test obviously.
"The beard guard was on him, he forgot it."
How can a bear guard be on him if he forgot it? This is just impossible.
" The name tag like mentioned above was never issued to him"
Poor excuse again as if he had no name tage, he could have asked the supervisor to issue him one anytime.
. With regards to leaving early, the "auditor" said he watched him leave and my boyfriend responded by saying if you did see me leave you would know what kind of car I drive, to which there was no comment.
"Again, a supervisor does not have to know what kind of car the employees drive to fire an employee for leaving early several times over.
Your last comment,
"They gave him the raise 2 weeks later (they pay weekly) and then transferred him to another store to work under someone else."
They had every right to do this as they realized your boyfriend was not ready to take the lead position which eventually lead to him being fired anyway. Sorry but on this complaint Crossmark comes out in the clear. You sound rediculious.

Recently, this company has been contracted to work in Sam's Club. The Crossmark company has not done their job well concerning hiring their Retail Supervisor of Events (RSE). They were not supervised well by upper management in Crossmark. The upper/senior management let the first RSE assigned to this Sam's Club conduct Vendor funded events with an employee working for Crossmark conduct an event for that Sam's Club at the same time. That means falsely reporting that the event was run as paid for to the Vendor when those funds were being used to run a Sam's Club "Road Show" event simultaneously. The RSE had done this repeatedly between February and October 2010. Crossmark did not oversee what was happening in the Club. There was much favoritism shown by this RSE for the benefit towards the past Sam's Club sampling employees (let go by Sam's Clubs Jan 2010) who were hired by Crossmark for positions within Sam's Club. These X-Sam's Club sampling persons do not follow the Crossmark rules and guidelines for food sanitation/safety set by the Health Dept. Why are they allowed to still be there in this company if they are not following the guidelines for food safety or what they are supposed to do while conducting an event? There are several reasons you do not want to work for this company. See the other complaints here for more information on this company prior to accepting a job with them.
The complaint stands. Look more closely.
I have been a vendor doing demos in this club a few times and I have NEVER seen what you are talking about. There was at one time a lead maybe that would go around and was pretty hard on the demo people and made them cry but as far as favoritism now I just dont see it. The RSE as you say has checked in with me several times and always been more than friendly to me. Maybe you need to key me in on what I am supposed to be looking for... demolady
Retaliation
I was assaulted on the job and racially harassed by my CrossMark retail supervisor.
I reported it immediately after it happen to the district supervisor by webmail and five days went by and she did not respond to my complaint. I sent her a second letter only to be retaliated against and she threatened to fire me if I took time off to deal with the situation. I contacted HR because I wanted to file a formal complaint of racial harassment and retaliation and I was denied that right and the next day I was fired. I know my civil rights was violated and we cannot allow the abuse of authority to continue on these jobs. Employees have to deal with the after math of emotional distress after being treated unfair and then fired. Its time to fight back with the same law these employers hide behind and show them to be in the wrong.
I complained about being racially harassed on the job by my retail supervisor and this same supervisor was trying to force me to talk to him after I complained. I lodged my complaint with the district supervisor and got the silent treat for five days until I sent a second letter to this retail supervisor only for her to respond that she was in the field. When the disrict supervisor did contact me it was only to intimidate and harass me to doing what she wanted me to do and I am the victim.
This company cares nothing for its employees as a whole and its a disgrace to good working class citizens.
This district supervisor threatened to fire me if I did not comply to her intimidation and harassment, I did not comply because it was unlawful and I would have been subjected to further abuse by the retail supervisor and district supervisor.
The next day the district supervisor called me on the phone with the retail supervisor on the phone and she stated we accept your resignation and I never gave one and they fired me bacause I wanted to file a formal complaint with Crossmark of racial harassment. I was harassed, assaulted, racially harassed, text harassed, retaliated against and fired.
This is against the law on so many levels.
What about the assault?
They are prejudiced against Gays too.
This is a SHADY Company, do NOT go to work for this company!
The Retail supervisor should have been removed and the employee should have been allowed to continue to work
because it was not her fault she was harassed by the supervisor and district supervisor.

Me being racially harassed is a fact and it did happen and this is why they retaliated and fired me.
Being racially harassed on the job by your supervisor is very hurtful and life changing and nobody has a right to violate a person's well being and alter their job performance. I can never trust this supervisor or see him ever again because of the damage and emotional distress this has caused me.
I most certainly would quit, or at least stop going in to work...afterall, continuing to work after filing charges like that and not having the situation rectified would make it easier for the employer to take you to court, and then attempt to force a settlement. Same thing happened to a friend of mine several years ago, she quit immediately after placing those charges, the company attempted to take her to court, and she was able to win handily.
If you were really treated like that, especially assaulted, you should have filed criminal charges against the individuals responsible, and quit as soon as the district manager was abusive. You then go to the corporate offices and file your complaints there, away from the retail environment completely. With a documented trail of the treatment against you, there would be no further problem.
Of course, even if you did this, you'd need to find a new job...but wouldn't you want to anyway, considering how they treated you?
My god - what speciffically did they do?
Employment
This company may get you by for awhile. I lasted one and half years, but I put up with many false allegations, manipulative tactics of corporate to try to find reasons for employees [me being one of them] to give medical evidence for perceived medical problems the company would decide were present, even psychiatric problems.
