I had a very disappointing experience with CVMaker, and I want to warn others before using their services.
I initially used CVMaker to create a CV for a friend. The website allowed me to create the CV without requiring account registration or making it clear that I was signing up for a subscription. After using the service, I was shocked to find an unauthorized charge of $24.95 on my account. I never agreed to any recurring subscription, nor did I receive any confirmation email or notification about this charge.
When I contacted CVMaker support, they claimed that the subscription details were supposedly sent to me and that I had agreed to their terms. However, I never saw any such agreement or received any email with these details. The website allowed me to use the service without being prompted to agree to terms, and I had no knowledge of any recurring payments being set up.
Despite this, they refused to issue a refund, stating that their "policies" are clear and that I should have reviewed their terms more thoroughly—something I could not have done, as no clear agreement was provided before I used the service. Their customer service response was dismissive, and they even accused me of trying to extort a refund by threatening to harm their reputation. This behavior is unprofessional and unethical.
In short, CVMaker's practices are misleading, and their customer service is unhelpful and defensive. I strongly advise against using their platform, as they engage in unfair billing practices and provide no transparency or proper communication about their terms.
Please be careful when dealing with CVMaker! If you decide to use their service, make sure to keep a close eye on your bank statements and read through any terms (even if they don’t make it clear) to avoid unexpected charges.
Recommendation: NOOOOOO
