Mixed Colors and Patterns, but Pleasant Surprise Unfolding Scarf Reveals Hidden Beauty
I bought like eight of these scarves, you know? They're made pretty good, I gotta say. But man, I ended up with some funky patterns and colors that just don't go together, ya know? Lots of dark colors like browns and golds and oranges and blacks and darker blues. It's not worth the hassle of sending them back, though. I'm hoping that once everyone opens up their scarves and lays 'em out, they'll look better. I specifically asked for pinks and purples and blues and greens and yellows, but there's hardly any of those colors. Three of the scarves were for these teen girls, ages 15, 16, and 17. I don't think they're gonna be too thrilled with the colors and patterns they got.
UPDATE: So, last night I finally took my scarf outta the package and realized I was only seeing like three bands of colors and patterns when it was all folded up. But when I unfolded it, man, the whole scarf was revealed! It's actually pretty lovely. I'm feeling more pleased now and I can't wait to see the reactions of the people I gave these scarves to when they open 'em up and see all seven bands. This company is pretty awesome, I gotta say. I really liked the instructional cards on how to take care of the scarves and the positive vibe postcard that came with 'em. I'll keep you all posted on how it goes.
Disappointing Experience with Darn Good Yarn: Lack of Communication and Delayed Exchange
Update:
So, here's the thing, right? Amanda, she reached out to me and she was all like, "Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry!" She promised me that she's gonna personally handle my exchange and ship it out first thing on Monday. Can you believe that? Well, let's see if she actually follows through.
Alright, so let me tell you about my experience with Darn Good Yarn. I ordered these 5 skirts on March 14, 2019, because they had this super cool promotion going on where you buy 2 and get 3 free. I mean, who doesn't love a good deal, right? But here's the thing, these skirts took forever to arrive. Like, seriously, I was waiting and waiting, and they were nowhere to be found.
Finally, when they did arrive, guess what? They didn't fit the description that I provided. Can you believe that? So, I had to return all of them and get them exchanged. I shipped them back to Darn Good Yarn using UPS, and let me tell you, it cost me a whopping $26. That's a lot of money, you know? And I made sure to keep an eye on the tracking info, and it said that "Snow" accepted my package on April 10, 2019, at 11:17am.
But here's the kicker, it's now April 19, 2019, and I still haven't received any confirmation that they got my return or that they're processing my exchange. Like, seriously, what's going on? I had to email them not once, not twice, but three times just to ask for the number they require to avoid restocking fees. I mean, come on, can't they just give me that info without me having to beg for it?
And let me tell you about their customer service. It's been a real disappointment, let me tell you. I've emailed them three times asking about the status of my return, and all I got in return were these lackluster form emails. Like, seriously, can't they just give me a straight answer? So, I thought, maybe I'll try chatting with them, right? But nope, all I got was this generic response like, "Oh, we're working on it, and we'll send you an email when we process your exchange." Like, seriously, that's all they can say?
I've tried reaching out to them, but it's been a total waste of time. It's like they're ghosting me or something. I mean, come on, all I wanted was a little communication, you know? Is that too much to ask? It's like dealing with one of those scam companies from China, I swear. I'm just one Monday away from reporting this whole transaction to my credit card company as fraudulent. I mean, I've had enough of this nonsense.
So yeah, I definitely don't recommend this company at all. Trust me, save yourself the headache and find somewhere else to shop.
Darn Good Yarn Review: Beautiful, Unique, and Eco-Friendly Skirts Worth the Wait
I've been seeing those ads on Facebook for this company, Darn Good Yarn, for like forever. I mean, I've been checking out what people are saying about them in the comments section, you know, just to make sure there aren't any haters out there. Finally, after a whole year of contemplating, I decided to take the plunge and make a purchase. They had this crazy sale after Christmas, where you buy two sari skirts and get four more for free! I mean, that's a steal, right? So, even though I had to shell out a total of $160 with tax and shipping, it worked out to be around $27 per skirt. Not too shabby, I must say.
Now, here's where things got a little dicey. The website claimed that in-stock items usually ship within two to three days. But guess what? Two whole weeks went by and I still hadn't received any shipping notification. I was starting to get a bit antsy, you know? So, I decided to shoot them an email. And what do I get? An automated response telling me that it's the weekend and someone will get back to me on Monday. Ugh, typical, right? But hey, at least I got an email from an actual human being on Monday. They explained that because of the Christmas rush, they were a bit behind in fulfilling orders. Fair enough, I guess. They assured me that my order was in the works and that I would receive a notification soon. Well, it took about three more days, but finally, I got that notification. And guess what? Five days later, all six of my skirts arrived at my doorstep. Phew!
Let me tell you, these skirts are absolutely stunning. I mean, they are BEAUTIFUL. And the best part? They are so darn comfortable. I can't get enough of wearing them. The craftsmanship is top-notch, and I really appreciate the fact that they are made from recycled fabric. Darn Good Yarn doesn't hide anything from you, you know? They straight up tell you that each skirt is unique and that the ones you receive won't be the exact ones in the photos. But you know what? I actually loved that. I sent them my preferences for style, colors, and patterns, and boy, did they deliver. I was over the moon with what they chose for me.
Honestly, I would totally order from Darn Good Yarn again. In fact, I'm pretty sure I will. Despite the slight delay in shipping, the quality and uniqueness of their products make it all worth it. So, if you're looking for some killer skirts that are not only beautiful but also eco-friendly, give Darn Good Yarn a shot. You won't be disappointed, trust me.
Stunning Skirts and Sturdy Purse: A Darn Good Yarn Review
So, I decided to give Darn Good Yarn a try and ordered some skirts on May 4. I gotta admit, I was a bit worried when a few weeks went by and I saw other people talking about how fast their shipping was. I mean, I've never ordered from a Facebook ad before, so I started to wonder if I had fallen for some kind of scam. But hey, I reached out to Darn Good Yarn and they were super quick to respond and really friendly. They assured me that my preferred size was just taking a little longer, but my order would be on its way as soon as possible.
Finally, on May 20, my order arrived and let me tell you, I was beyond excited! These skirts are absolutely stunning. I'm still in awe, to be honest. And get this, each skirt can be worn on either side, so it's like having two skirts in one! The material is so light and it hangs beautifully, plus it doesn't make me feel all hot and sweaty. The quality of the material and the sewing is top-notch too. I'm not even worried about my clumsy, wild ways ruining these skirts. Trust me, they look nothing like the stuff you can find at your local store. They are truly one-of-a-kind.
I'm already itching to place another order because I just can't get enough of these skirts. And you know what? I'm even thinking of getting some for my daughters and friends because they would make such amazing gifts! Oh, and let's not forget about the purse I got. It's seriously pretty and sturdy. The best part is that the strap is adjustable, so I can carry it on my shoulder or across my chest. It feels and looks fantastic. Plus, the inner pocket is surprisingly deep and the purse has a subtle zipper closure. It's the little details that really make a difference, you know?
So, go ahead and place an order with Darn Good Yarn. I promise you won't be disappointed! Oops, sorry for the pun there. I couldn't resist. Anyway, I hope my review helps. Oh, and by the way, I tried to upload some pictures, but I couldn't figure out how to resize them. So, you'll just have to take my word for it and see for yourself how amazing these skirts and purse are. Trust me, you won't regret it!
DGY: Beautiful Skirts with Great Quality, Customer Service, and Delivery
I'm a skeptic no longer. I've only begun to order clothing online less than 2 years. Been disappointed with delivery, quality, sizing, you name it. My daughter even warned me not to order from FB ads. Until this one: DGY. It caught my attention because India has a special place in my heart. Because sari's are beautiful in every way. And now to know that DGY is helping people in that country to have income. I ordered mystery skirts because I wasn't sure. I received my order within a week (I was glad). Opened my package and was in awe of the beautiful prints combined. Combinations I never would have paired. But these skirts exceeded my expectations. The silk fabric felt so good an light weight. Will be great for traveling. Won't take up space and weight in your luggage. The print and colors are so calming. They almost control your mood to be a happy and peaceful mood. The only thing is that I didn't know what length to order and was told that the mini will work fine. I am 5'1" and weigh under 200 pounds. I ordered XL mini (I should have ordered XL ankle/regular. The skirts hit right at my knee. I prefer at least 5 or more inches below the knees. Needless to say, I've ordered 2 more skirts, ankle length this time.
Customer service also beat my expectations. Response is within less than 24 hours. I am so happy to order my skirts from DGY. Great quality, Great Customer Service, Great Delivery. Although the regular price is above my budget (but very reasonable for the product we are getting) I will continue to watch for their sales and purchase at that time. Mystery Skirts are a Delight. Thank you DGY for loving skirts as much as I do. These are beautiful skirts.
Disappointing Experience with Darn Good Yarn: Lack of Communication, Delays, and Missing Item
I recently made an order from Darn Good Yarn through a "closeout" sale on Facebook. I was excited to take advantage of the BOGO offer on sari wrap silk skirts. However, my experience with the company has been quite frustrating.
After waiting for two weeks, I hadn't received any updates about my skirts. Feeling concerned, I decided to email them to inquire about the status of my order. Their response was rather vague, stating that my skirts "maybe" would be shipped in a few weeks. I was taken aback by this because I thought it was a "closeout" sale, so how could they be "out" of the skirts? I expressed my confusion in my reply, wondering why they were still running the sale on Facebook if they didn't have the items in stock. In their next email, they mentioned that my color preferences were too specific, which might cause a delay in shipping. They assured me that I would receive a free silk tote bag as compensation for the inconvenience.
Later on, I received a bulk email stating that the skirts were backordered and would be shipped 4-6 weeks from the date of my order. They reiterated that a silk tote bag would be included in the shipment, and they tried to make me feel better by mentioning that my purchase was supporting women in India. However, I couldn't help but feel skeptical about their business practices, as this didn't excuse the lack of transparency.
Exactly four weeks after placing my order, I finally received an email notifying me that the skirts had been shipped. I was overjoyed! Three days later, the skirts arrived, but to my disappointment, there was no silk tote bag included. There was no explanation or note regarding its absence. Naturally, I felt frustrated and decided to email them once again to express my dissatisfaction. I couldn't understand why they were trying to deceive me.
After exchanging a couple of emails, I received an overly cheerful response, informing me that they were actually out of the silk tote bags. They claimed that they didn't want to delay my order, but if that were the case, why didn't they inform me beforehand? It seemed like they were trying to pull a fast one on me.
Despite this whole ordeal, I must admit that the skirts themselves are of high quality and decently made. They are also quite beautiful, I suppose. However, I would have preferred to choose my own color and pattern, but I knew that wasn't an option when I placed my order. Nevertheless, the company did their best to match my preferences, which I appreciate.
Considering the overall experience, I don't think I will be ordering from Darn Good Yarn again. The lack of communication, the delays, and the missing item have left me feeling disappointed. While the product itself is satisfactory, the company's practices have left a sour taste in my mouth.
Disappointed with DGY's Marketing and Customer Service: Constant Mistakes and Unresponsive to Quality Issues
May offers be sent to customers, but only a few qualify for 'em. I gotta say, I really dig their skirts. And if you happen to get a dud, they're pretty cool about sending a replacement without chargin' ya. But here's the thing, their marketing department keeps sendin' me offers that I never qualify for. Every time I reach out to DGY 'bout this issue, they say it's a mistake and thanks for understandin'. But honestly, I don't understand, so please stop sayin' that. I can let a mistake or two slide, but this is a constant problem with DGY. It's become such a nightmare that I've finally thrown in the towel and said goodbye to this company. I appreciate the BOGOs and other sweet deals they offer, but I just can't overlook the never-ending mistakes. I've bought my last DGY skirt, and I ain't even gonna bother with third-party sellers anymore. I've deleted 'em all. DGY was willin' to lose me as a customer over a measly $15. So ya know what? I hopped on Etsy and splurged $50 on two amazin' off-brand skirts. DGY ain't never gonna see that $50 from me again. And that was just today! I've got a collection of 35 DGY skirts, but I ain't addin' another one to the bunch.
UPDATE:
What you fail to mention is that some customers were given an extra 15% off, on top of the BOGO deal, and you honored that discount 'cause it was your mistake. I got an email to prove it! But then you turn around and tell me I can't have it, while others who ordered before the error was fixed get to enjoy the discount. Come on now, be consistent! If you're gonna tell the story, tell the WHOLE story, not just the part that makes me look like a whiner. And I ain't buyin' it when you say you're sorry you lost me as a customer. 'Cause on my last order, one skirt had blood stains all over it and another had massive holes. Can't exactly hide those with a fancy wrap, ya know? The blood is downright unsanitary, especially in this COVID world we're livin' in. And guess what? NO ONE bothered to respond when I reached out. So now I'm stuck with two useless skirts outta the five I ordered. The only response I got was a question 'bout my customer service experience, and I gave 'em a 1 and told 'em no one helped me. I would've given a big fat zero, but they didn't even offer that option. And guess what? I still haven't heard back from 'em. So if they really care 'bout losin' me, they better respond to my email or replace those two skirts that I can't even wear but still paid for.
Mixed Bag of Good, Okay, and Bad: Darngoodyarn Review
Firstly, let me tell ya, Darngoodyarn ain't too keen on postin' any review less than 4 stars on their fancy website. Now, that's a mighty big ol' red flag, if ya ask me.
But lemme tell ya, one thing 'bout leavin' a review is that it sure does catch the attention of their customer service, if ya know what I mean ;) I reckon I never heard back from 'em (even though their site says they'll respond in 1-2 days) until I went ahead and left a couple three-star reviews.
So, I went ahead and placed an order with 'em. I got myself a variety pack of mystery yarn, a sari skirt (since it was only $10 more if I got the yarn), and a couple random items from their closeout clothing/accessories section.
Now, the good part is that the sari skirt was a real beaut. It was a full-length one, and lemme tell ya, it can be worn in all sorts of ways, which makes it real versatile. The yarns I got and the skirt paid attention to the colors I wanted (ya can tell 'em which colors ya like and which ones ya don't want).
Now, the OK part is that the mystery yarn pack didn't have much variety. Four of the skeins were sari ribbon yarn, which is alright for some crafts, but lemme tell ya, it frays like crazy. The fifth skein was just regular yarn, but it didn't have no label (I found out later that it was yak yarn); the color was nice, sorta like a dark bluish gray.
Now, here comes the bad part, folks:
- Neither of them two items I ordered from the closeout clothing/accessories section were clothes or accessories. Nope, they turned out to be household goods - a basket and a pillow cover. Now, I wouldn't have ordered 'em if I knew they were gonna throw in home goods in that category (decoratin' with random colors, especially that bright fushia, ain't no easy task, ya know!)
- Now, let me tell ya, customer service didn't respond too quickly to my questions. It was only after I left them reviews that they finally decided to reply to my email. They said that home goods were supposed to be included in the clothing/accessory category, and I did find out that the unlabeled yarn was yak (but they didn't give me no other details). They were polite enough, but not exactly helpful, if ya catch my drift.
Now, I gotta admit, I did manage to make a real cute toddler dress outta that pillow cover and two of them sari ribbon skeins (although I had to braid the ribbon to make it strong enough to use). So, that turned out alright, I reckon. But overall, I don't think I'll be orderin' from this company again. Don't get me wrong, I love the *ideabehind 'em and I really wanna like 'em, but it seems like they got a few kinks to work out before I can feel comfortable orderin' from 'em or recommendin' 'em to others, ya know?
Terrible Experience with Darn Good Yarn: Unprofessional, Poor Customer Service, and Shipping Issues
Let me just say, I wish it were possible to give half a star. Also, I have chosen to come here after reading the reviews on Yelp; I don't want to waste my time posting to Darn Good Yarn's site, if they won't even allow honest bad reviews. Any company (or indie seller) who doesn't like getting poor reviews, clearly knows there is plenty they need to fix, but doesn't want anyone to know (until they go through it and find out for themselves). Poor reviews should give those companies or individuals motivation to BECOME BETTER; screening reviews and/or retaliating, shows just how unprofessional they are, and that they shouldn't be in business. Period.
Now that I've gone off on a tangent, let me tell you all about my experience with Darn Good Yarn. First, I recommend a name change. The yarn is not that great, y'all. I'm not being hateful, I'm being honest. Whether or not you like it, you can take it or leave it. I have bought so many different types of yarn, from so many different companies and indie sellers; DGY is nothing special, and almost as bad as the crappiest yarn I have encountered.
Second, my very first order with them was fine. I'd placed two orders, within two days of each other; the first shipped and arrived smoothly, and I still have that product. As stated above, the yarn isn't that great, but I'll probably still make the pattern that came with it, with the yarn. It will probably be awhile, though, as I don't even want to look at it after what I've been through. (I'm getting to that, I swear.) The gift wrap bag I bought with it, was ok. Not worth the extra money, but hey. You live and learn.
Now, for the worst stuff. My second order was supposedly shipped a week after it was placed. I waited almost two weeks before trying to find out why it was just sitting in New York (the tracking I was sent, showed it literally had not moved once it got to the post office). At that time, I contacted USPS, whom I honestly thought was at fault, I won't lie. They told me they had no further scans or movement on the package, PLUS several other packages were mailed off with mine - only all of those had further scans and movement, and had successfully arrived at their destinations. What?! They advised me to contact the seller, so I emailed Darn Good Yarn. I even forwarded the email from the USPS lady that called me, to DGY, so they could see I wasn't trying to pull a fast one on them or something (since people do that). It happened to be a Friday when I emailed DGY, so I didn't hear from them until the following week, on Tuesday. The response?
"Thanks so much for reaching out! We apologize for the confusion. We unintentionally printed a batch of shipping labels, which automatically generates the tracking information that you are currently seeing when you pull up the link. Amanda (Operations Manager) is hand packaging all of your orders and we are making sure they are shipped priority. We fully expect for your order should be shipping out by the end of the week though so stay tuned because as soon as it does the tracking information will update to reflect that."... which makes NO SENSE, as a label printing error doesn't make the package physically arrive at the post office, right? Anyway, I didn't buy any of it, but told them I'd watch for the update. Six days later, I had to email them again, because *surprise, surprise- no update to that tracking. I get a response the next day, saying:
"Thanks for reaching out! I am checking the status of your order with our Operations Manager. I will get back to you with an update soon!"
I didn't hear anything by two days later, so I emailed them again, asking what the issue was with this order, how it didn't make sense how the package made it to the PO, yet they claimed it was a label printing mishap, and that I was very disappointed because I was really looking forward this order (which I had been, until I really looked at the first yarn I had gotten not long after I told them that). I never received a response. Another two days later, I get one of those auto mass emails about free yarn, and reply to that (I was obviously beyond over the whole issue), saying I'd like the yarn I paid for. I never hear anything back from that, either, aside from the auto-reply message about how they respond in 24-48 hours, Monday through Friday. Which, by the way, is crap. They can send out emails wanting more business and post on social media during the weekend (I had been following them at the time, so their posts were in my feed), but they can't email people back and/or try to fix their own mistakes? Ugh. A few hours later, I decided to send a refund request email, as well. I explained I was tired of getting the run-around, and I wanted my money back. I was officially done waiting.
A few days later (aka: a month since my order had "shipped," had passed), I still hadn't heard anything. So, I forwarded the refund email to them, with a note saying I hope they didn't ignore it twice. I decided shortly after sending that, that I would take the issue to PayPal (which is how I paid, and I AM SO GLAD I went through them). I opened up a case there, in hopes it would help get things fixed. Two days later, I finally get a response to my refund email (but not to the PayPal claim, hmm); it said, "Hey! I am trying to get someone in the warehouse to cancel that order. It doesn't look like the tracking is moving so we should still have it. I will get that taken care for you. Thanks for your patience and Ill be in contact soon!" I replied with the following (you can tell I was just not having their BS anymore):
"Well, yeah. It hasn't moved since it was supposedly shipped June 6th, which you told me was a mistake and was just a label printing issue. So which story should I believe - that it was shipped, or that it wasn't? It wasn't shipped when promised over two weeks ago, either. Anyway, I'll be waiting for that refund to hit my account. I sure hope that doesn't take another month."
Oh, and "soon" never came - I was ignored again.
A week later, after sending another note through PayPal, I FINALLY get an email from DGY, telling me my order has been cancelled and a refund has been issued (which also closed the PayPal case). This was over a month and a half after I had placed this order, by the way. The email is as follows:
"I do apologize for the delay. I have issued you a full refund for your order. Your label had already been printed by the time I got a response from someone in the warehouse so if you happen to receive a shipment from us, please refuse the package. Once again, I do apologize for the delay and I hope you have a great day!" I replied with a thank you for finally taking my PayPal claim seriously and cancelling my order, and assured them that I will absolutely refuse the package IF it actually made it here, because I DO NOT WANT it. Just last night, the refund hit my account, and I sent them another thank you for that, along with how I hope they learn from this, how I'm glad to be done with them, and a demand that they improve as a company.
If you read all of this, you rock! I know it was a lot, but I feel it is absolutely necessary to put the truth out there, so others can be warned about this company before they make a purchase. I have seen lots of good reviews for DGY, mainly on their site (since they only allow the super good ones, apparently), but I have seen a lot of reviews like mine on Yelp. It saddens me to know others have been screwed over the way I have, and in other ways; however, it's good to know I'm not the only unhappy customer, so it doesn't look like I'm just one of those jerks who leaves bad reviews just because they're miserable in life. My experience with Darn Good Yarn was an absolutely horrible one, and I am happy to be able to finally move on from it.
It's just terrible to think: out of all the yarn purchases I've made (I buy yarn online quite often, from all over the world), I've only had two bad experiences; this was the worst one - and that says something, considering the other was with an indie dyer who continues to stalk me online, and talks badly about me to others for [indirectly] giving their yarn a bad review. I truly hope no one else has to go through this, with DGY or anyone.
Darn Good Yarn Complaints 8
Disappointing Experience with DarnGood Yarn's Monthly Subscription
I was super stoked to sign up for the monthly subscription from DarnGood Yarn. The first box arrived right on time, which got me even more pumped. But then things took a turn for the worse. My credit card got charged for the next box in September on the 1st, and now it's the 26th and still no sign of it being shipped. I reached out to customer service, and let me tell you, those emails were full of promises like "it'll ship by Friday," but guess what? Those promises were just empty words. It's such a cool concept, but seriously, you can't just take people's hard-earned cash and not deliver the goods!
Disappointing Quality and Condition: My Experience with Darn Good Yarn
I recently treated myself to a birthday present from Darn Good Yarn, and boy, was I excited! They had sent me an email saying I made a "great decision," so my expectations were high. However, my excitement quickly turned into disappointment when I received my parcel.
Upon opening it, I immediately noticed that one of the skirts had seen better days. The fabric used for it seemed to have been loved a little too much, to the point where it was not suitable for reuse as a skirt. There were holes scattered here and there, which was a major letdown.
To make matters worse, the sewing quality of the skirt was quite poor. It seemed like it was hastily put together, with loose threads and uneven stitching. I couldn't help but feel disappointed by the lack of attention to detail.
Adding insult to injury, the skirt had a distinct odor. It made me hesitant to wash it, fearing that the fabric might tear apart during the process. It's such a shame because I was really looking forward to wearing it.
Overall, I must say that my experience with Darn Good Yarn was far from satisfactory. The quality of the skirt I received was subpar, and the condition of the fabric was disappointing. I hope they can improve their quality control and ensure that customers receive products that meet their expectations.
Darn Good Yarn: Shiny Reviews, Awful Customer Service, and Unreliable Shipping
So, let me tell you something about this Darn Good Yarn website. They claim to be all about customer reviews, but let me tell you, they ain't foolin' nobody. They go through all the trouble of "reviewing" their reviews, just so they can get rid of the negative ones and make themselves look all shiny and perfect. Ain't that somethin'?
And don't even get me started on their customer service. It's downright awful, I tell ya. They talk to their customers like they're some kind of know-it-alls, lookin' down on 'em from their high horse. And when it comes to shipping, they ain't got no transparency whatsoever. They'll keep you in the dark about when your items will actually ship. It's like they don't even care if you get your stuff this week or next year. They'll get to it whenever they feel like it, and that's that.
Oh, and let's not forget about the quality of their products. You might just end up with somethin' ripped or damaged, and guess what? They don't give a hoot. They'll respond to your review, sure, but deep down, they only care about takin' your hard-earned money. They don't care if you're satisfied or not, as long as they're gettin' paid.
Now, I ain't one to go around spreadin' rumors or nothin', but I just had to let y'all know about my experience with Darn Good Yarn. It's a real shame, 'cause I had high hopes for 'em. But in the end, they turned out to be just like any other money-hungry company out there. So, if you're lookin' for a hassle-free shopping experience with good customer service and reliable shipping, I suggest you look elsewhere. Darn Good Yarn ain't worth the trouble, trust me.

Disappointing Customer Service Experience with Darn Good Yarn: Delayed Shipment and Lack of Communication
I gotta tell ya, I had high hopes for Darn Good Yarn when I placed my order for a yarn bowl and a monthly yarn subscription on 3/13/2018. But let me tell ya, things haven't exactly gone smoothly since then.
So, a few weeks go by and I decide to check on my order status through my account. It says "Paid" and "shipping status preparing for shipment." Alright, sounds good, right? Wrong! I shoot them an email, asking for an update on my order. Claire, bless her heart, responds and apologizes for the delay. She assures me that my order will ship that week, on 3/30/19.
Well, here we are on 4/17/18, and guess what? The status still says "preparing for shipment." I mean, come on now, how long does it take to prepare a shipment? I decide to inquire about it again, and what do I get? More apologies from Claire and Nicole. They say they're sorry for the delay and promise that it will ship this week.
I gotta be honest, I'm starting to lose faith here. Today, I sent them an email asking to cancel my order and my subscription. I also asked for a full refund for an item that I never even received. Let's see how they handle this one.
I don't know about you, but I'm not too impressed with the customer service at Darn Good Yarn. I mean, I just want my order and my money back, is that too much to ask? I'll keep you updated on how this whole situation pans out.
Disappointing Quality and Poor Customer Service - A Warning About Darn Good Yarn
I gotta tell ya, I recently splurged on 5 skirts from Darn Good Yarn and boy, was I disappointed! I mean, seriously, I practically emptied my wallet for these skirts, and what do I get? Mouldy fabric, rips, and pulls all over the place! It's like they didn't even bother to check the quality before sending them out.
Now, I'm not one to keep quiet about these things, so I shot them a couple of emails with some pictures attached, hoping for a decent response. But let me tell ya, their replies were just as shoddy as their skirts! I mean, come on, guys, show a little professionalism! All they offered was for me to send the skirts back, but here's the kicker - I gotta pay for the shipping! Can you believe it? I'm already broke from buying these skirts, and now they want me to shell out even more cash just to return their garbage?
Honestly, I don't even trust them to give me a refund if I do send the skirts back. I mean, they've already proven that they don't care about quality or customer satisfaction, so why would they suddenly start caring about my money? It's a lose-lose situation, my friends.
So here I am, stuck with 5 skirts that are practically falling apart, and I'm out hundreds of dollars. It's a real bummer, let me tell ya. I had high hopes for this company, thinking they were all about recycling and doing good for the world. But in reality, their quality control is a joke, and their customer service is even worse.
Save yourself the trouble, folks. Don't waste your hard-earned money on their recycled saris. Trust me, you'll thank me later.
Disappointing Experience with Darn Good Yarn Membership: Missing Bonus Gift, Late Packages, and Poor Customer Service
I'm writing this review because I'm new to crocheting and I was really excited to join the darn good yarn membership. I got my first package, but unfortunately, the bonus gift was missing. They said they would include it in the next package, but that package never arrived. In March 2018, they took my monthly payment, but it's already April 2 and I still haven't received anything. And now they've gone ahead and deducted the payment for April too! I've tried calling them several times, but I haven't been able to get a response. All I keep getting are apologetic emails with different excuses. I've had enough! I want to cancel my membership and I won't be doing business with them anymore. I definitely won't be recommending them to anyone either.
Misleading Colors: Disappointing Scarves, Unmatched to Presentation
I totally fell head over heels for the absolutely stunning scarves that were showcased in the presentation. I mean, who doesn't love scarves, right? No need for me to explain why I adore them so much. I was beyond excited to finally get my hands on them. And let me tell you, it took forever for them to arrive. But hey, that's not my main gripe here. The thing is, they actually asked me which colors I wanted. So, I mentioned the ones I had my heart set on. There was this super vibrant pink and a bunch of beautiful blue and aqua shades that were shown. But guess what? The scarves I received were nothing like those colors. The so-called "pink" one turned out to be more of a yellowish hue, and the "aqua" one was more greenish, and there was even some red in there. I mean, seriously? Why are they so different? It's like a big ol' disappointment, you know? The ones they show you are drop-dead gorgeous, but what you actually get is a far cry from that. I really wish I could return them, but oh well. Anyways, despite all that, I still want to say thanks for what you do. Keep up the good work, I guess. Oh, by the way, the items I'm talking about are these two scarves with the code A1B2C5035. Sorry, I can't include a picture here.
Disappointing Experience with Darn Good Yarn Subscription: Charged Twice, No Product, No Compensation
My hubby got me the introductory box from Darn Good Yarn for my b-day in January. It arrived pretty quick and I totally dug what I got. I was super stoked for the next box! But then, in early February, he got charged for the February box and by March 1st, nada. Zilch. No box in sight. So, he shot them an email and they said there was some issue with their merchandiser and they'd send the box once that mess was sorted. Alright, fair enough. But here's the thing, they didn't say squat about when we'd get the February box, and now they're about to charge us again for the March box. Like, seriously? Who in their right mind is cool with getting charged twice and not getting any dang product? And to top it off, they didn't even offer to delay the subscription or toss us a coupon for the inconvenience. Talk about a major bummer, man.
