This company lies about locking accounts
This company lies about locking accounts. They don't permanently ban accounts because it seems that they still allow these hacked accounts to be used and have the email addresses changed. An account of a friend, who was spending hundreds of dollars on Nitro, was hacked before Thanksgiving. We reported the account after they were locked out, and actually had to send a tweet and tag Discord in order for them to even respond to the ticket. As of today 1/9/2022, the account is being used by someone to message other contacts associated with the account. They are pretending to be my friend. They never locked the account. Which is odd for an account that was reported for being stolen and then someone just miraculously being used to message other users. I'm having a hard time believing that a company that gets this much money can't maintain control of hacked accounts. Either an employee is selling the information and stealing account holders info or the support team is absolutely terrible and this company has no control over their own product.

Like many others, I had my five year old account with an ongoing Nitro Subscription (a monthly paid premium service for sale by Discord) banned for a supposed violation of the Terms of Service. They sent me a generic email informing me of my violation, stating that it was because of "harassment." I looked over their Terms of Service and I was sure I never engaged in any harassment according to their given definition in the ToS, so I asked support to clarify which exact messages I have sent that they believed to be harassment. They proceeded to completely stonewall me over several emails, giving me a bogus excuse that they cannot reveal specifics because of privacy concerns. I questioned their logic of having privacy concerns over sharing an account's messages with the account holder and the original author of those messages. After that, they no longer replied to my messages. I am not making this a complaint because I feel like it would be pointless. I simply wish to warn other users: be prepared to lose your account at any time for no reason, even if you are giving Discord money. Be prepared to be completely stonewalled and treated like dirt for something you did not do.
The companies policy on canceling subscriptions are shady to say the least
The companies policy on canceling subscriptions are shady to say the least. I had two accounts, one with a concurrent charge of $10 per month. The second account I paid in full for a year at a rate of $800. When Discord turned their attention to politics and a constant push to be "Woke" i decided the companies practices were not aligned with customer service and instead with "Woke Culture' and a forceful push to jam unwanted OPINION on it s customers, I made the decision to stop my subscription on both accounts. The $10 sub was "Pending Cancellation" but I was still charged. I reached out to customer service and required a plethora of extra work to get a "Refund" on a cancellation that had been pending for over a month, it became clear they had no interest in actually helping me and only wanted the money in their account to draw interest on money that should not have been charged to begin with. After understanding that Discord was unwilling to properly cancel a subscriptions, I had my bank block all transactions from this company and am fully intent on filing a formal complaint with the Complaintsboard.com. Perhaps with enough complaints someone will hold this predatory business accountable for its less than honest practices. DO NOT give this company your business as you can clearly see from its 1.5 rating.

They'll disable you for no reason and then when you try to appeal they'll tell you that they "looked it over" and confirmed that you broke the rules and that they won't reinstate your account. It's disgusting how a company can act like this and then be like "uwu we're so cool and we care about our users and our platform is a place to be safe and hang out with all your friends". Yeah, except when they disable and ignore you and then you have to make a new account and try to find all the friends and servers that you lost on your old one. I recommend anyone that has a Discord account to make sure to keep a list of servers and friends they have and to back up any DMs just in case, since it's highly likely that if you get disabled, you won't be getting your account back. They've even confirmed it themselves with their transparency report, which shows that no matter what you got disabled for or even if it was actually correct, you have about a 3% chance of getting your account back if you appeal. Sounds great right? You can read the report here: https://discord.com/blog/discord-transparency-report-h1-2021 As for me, I'll be making a new account and continuing to use Discord, just making sure to always keep everything backed up for whenever they decide to falsely ban me again. Another thing they don't understand is that when your platform becomes big enough, you can't just ban someone on it, almost everyone that gets disabled on Discord just makes a new account and continues to use it, so that's pretty funny. Anyway, I hope more people see this as a warning as to what Discord truly is.
Identity theft?
Identity theft?I have owned an account with this company for around 4 years, and I have never had cause to contact thier customer service until recently. On or about October 13th I recived a friend request though thier app from an account with my real name on it, and a photo of me taken while I was on holiday at *** in Summer *** at the age of 8 years. I am now 33.I have filed a complaint against the user in question and got nothing but a rather general response saying to "block the user account", but that will not stop the fake profile pretending to be me with other users of this service. I have repeatedly asked them to remove the fake account or at the very minimum, disable it to prevent the faker impersonating me. I am sure that this is some sort of identity fraud.I have written many emails, getting ever more frustrated that they are blatantly ignoring me when the fake account is absolutely impersonating me without question. The ticket number for Complaintsboard.com's reference is: "XXXXXXX".I have also sent an email to the contact listed on the Complaintsboard.com's records by both email and phone, and not recieve a reply as of yet. They also dont appear to answer thier phones, despite repeated calls using the number that the Complaintsboard.com has on record.I have sent them plenty of evidence, and got nowhere except more frustrated and exasporated and angry that they are ignoring the issue and allowing the fake "user accunt" to stay being able to impersonate me with impunity. This has to be one of the most fruystrating companies to deal with...The don't listen to the situation, and that the fake user has broken at least 10 of thier own ToS rules, and are ignoring me, letting the fake user get away with it.I have asked them repeatedly to shut down the account, via thier support ticket system, emails, and even social media, *** and *** still without getting anywhere!I am still asking them to shut down the fake account, and possibly the other that he owns that I gave the *** for in my communications to them as he has in my view committed a felony by stealing my identity and my copyrighted material from my *** account, how he did this, I dont know as my account is private...I am asking the Complaintsboard.com to assist me, as I am clearly going to get nowhere with them at this rate.
I received an email from my son's teacher inquiring as to if my son was okay
I received an email from my son's teacher inquiring as to if my son was okay. She told me that she had received a call from a concerned parent whose child had shared with her that on Discord chat their was some cyber bullying and comments being made about my son. I questioned my son about this and he told me he was already aware of this and that his friend had also informed him of this and she sent him snap shots to his phone of the comments that were being made. (Note; my son DOES NOT have a Discord account.) Mind you, the comments being made were very inappropriate and disturbing. My son knows through his friends (who do have Discord accounts) who the accounts belong to that were making the comments and doing the bullying. I sent a message back to his teacher along with the snap shots and the info. my son had given me which included the names of the students and their user names. My sons teacher stated she would pass *** information on to the principal but because Discord is not a platform used by the school district and only user names are visible online its hard to follow up. I sent a message to Discords Trust and Safety Team explaining the above along with forwarding all the snap shots of the comments / bullying being made. ( Note: the snap shots of the comments have the username of the ones making the comments). Obviously someone at Discord received my email. I received an email back stating that due to the increased volume the above email address is not being supported at this time and they are only accepting submissions via their contact form. Again, my son DOES NOT have a Discord account. The contact form for Discord requires that you have the users account number associated with their user name. You need to have the account number in order to file any type of abuse or bullying complaint. Discord has made it very difficult to report any type of abuse on their gaming website. This is concerning. Discord should be held responsible for monitoring the conversations taking place in their chat website. Not only that, for someone who DOES NOT have a Discord account, yet is being bullied on their website, and has no access to the account numbers but knows and has the users names, Discord should have a website or a phone number that can be called so Discord can view these user names and the content of the chat going on. (Note, as with any website no two people can have the same user name). With this being said it should not be difficult for Discord to identify accounts by their user name. I myself have tried opening up a Discord account in hopes of obtaining the account numbers of the individuals, but of course Discord has made it even more impossible because you have to be invited into the chat group in order to be able to see the user names and be able to obtain the account numbers. And of course myself being the parent of the child they are bullying, the chances of being invited into the chat group is not going to happen. With cyber bullying being a REAL thing I find it upsetting that a gaming website like Discord that includes a chat website makes it very difficult almost even impossible to inform them of something as important as CYBER BULLYING!

On November 11th I received an email form Discord saying my account was disabled(banned) for the reason "Your account posted content that sexualized individuals under the age of 18, or was involved in servers dedicated to such unacceptable content." I have tried to appeal this THREE times now, telling them that I had not logged into my discord app for 1-2 months and I would not have done this, if a random room I had been invited to had someone else do this I should not be held accountable, I am just a third party bystander. My email address is now tied to an app that has wrongfully banned and accused me of doing or being in a room where someone was a *** or tied to that behavior. Both of my original appeals stated I did not do this and my account had no ties whatever to "sexualization of an underage" person. I asked them to look into this and reverse my ban and more-so that I was concerned of the "why" I got banned. I care not about the account in itself, it was just a chat program I used to voicechat with friends, I DO care that I am being accused directly or tied to someone or a random server being accused of inappropriate things. I asked them in a response to provide proof of what I did/said and when but have yet to hear back. my first two replies from them were the exact same copy paste from their customer support "***" bot program. I have not heard back on the third ticket but I expect the same copy/paste. I told them that if this comes back to haunt me I would seek legal council regarding slander and defamation of character. I am a 45 year old with stoic beliefs, I believe in virtue, honor, integrity, morals, and ethics and live my life by that code...yet they accuse me of pedophilia but will not provide proof. I have all emails regarding the tickets that show my requests and their (lack of) response. ticket #s are ***, ***, and ***. I have tried to call them but I get routed to "hammer and chisel" voicemail box. Help

On May 1, 2022, my Discord account has been hacked
On May 1, 2022, my Discord account has been hacked. The hacker himself (or herself) immediately got access to not only my account information, but also my two factor authentication (which included my backup codes), making any resort of resetting my email or password useless. On top of all this, the hacker has also used my account to hijack a few other accounts, notably a user named Cactus#***, who happened to be a trial moderator on *** Chat, the platform's largest baseball server. With how this has happened, a random user has sent me a direct message, where they told me about a game they wanted me to test on. I naively said yes, not knowing that the executable file for the "game" was a token grabber that leaked the personal information on my Discord account to the hacker. After telling them that the "game's" file didn't work, the hacker told me to hold on for a second before I noticed that my Discord client was acting strange and it automatically logged me out.Over the past 5 and a half days, I've been contacting Discord's *** and their official customer support service in order to get a hold of my account back. I did get a response from one of their support agents, named ***, but he hasn't really given as much information about the recovery of my account since 4 days ago. Initially, when I submitted a support ticket (#***), *** has told me that I had to use the email account that's been associated with my Discord's, since it was against their privacy policy to disclose information on different email accounts, despite the fact that I owned both of them. When I submitted another support ticket (#***), they haven't really given much a response since. What I want in return is to have my Discord account back by temporarily disabling the 2FA and booting the hacker off from it, since I have a personal server where I'm the owner. I also want the other hacked accounts given back to their previous owners using the same methods mentioned above.

Discord case update needed for my hacked account from February 1, 2022
Hello, My Discord case from February 1, 2022, at 18:15 UTC+1, is pending a response regarding my hacked account. A file shared by a hijacked account led to my account's compromise. The hacker changed my email, and despite contacting Discord for help, there's been no progress. I'm concerned about my personal data, including financial info, as a Nitro user. The hacker has full access and could request this data. My last update to Discord was on February 14 at 09:59 UTC+1. I was informed on February 3 that the issue should be resolved and to reset my password, but my 2FA and other details were altered, preventing recovery. The hacker regained control later that day.

On 11/7 we replied to the user:
"Your account was banned because our records indicate that you issued one or more chargebacks through your Discord account associated with ***.
Unless your token was shared with another person or compromised by interacting with malicious software, downloads, or links, it's not possible for someone to log into your account without access to both your login credentials to your Discord account and email address and clicking "Confirm Login" on the "New Login Location Detected" notification email.
However, if you did not authorize these charges, we have lifted the ban and temporarily suspended your account. You should have received an e-mail with steps to reset your password. Once you reset your password, your account will be re-enabled.
Should there be any more chargebacks on this account, we will not be able to reinstate it in the future."

I wish to inform you that my screen name is queenbtalks on Discord. On August 26th, I joined a group managed by a woman known by her brand on all platforms. I am reaching out to notify you that mob radio milagrograms is operating your discord as a paid service. To access her discord group, an initial fee is required for the discord link. I understand this is against Discord's policy as it is a free app. I am also reporting unethical and illegal activities occurring on your platform through the mob radio or mob estates discord. This includes recording conversations without consent, harassment, and extreme cyberbullying. I, along with others, have evidence of how we were bullied, manipulated, and had our rights violated. The group has become cult-like, promoting negativity and derogatory behavior. I have suffered from depression, loss of work, stress, anxiety, and financial loss due to these actions. My likeness has been misused, and my character and brand have been defamed. I am requesting immediate feedback regarding your platform as I am considering legal action against the harassment and defamation I've experienced.
