Discus.com: Failed Delivery and Shady Business Practices
I spent a good chunk of change on Discus fish from discus.com, over $400 to be exact. I was excited to receive my new aquatic friends and even ordered a small bag of starter food to make sure they were well taken care of. Unfortunately, while the food arrived overnight, the fish never did. I was pretty upset about it and decided to dispute the charge with Amex. But get this, discus.com tried to use the tracking information for the fish food as proof of delivery for the fish! Can you believe that? Luckily, I had all the emails showing that they promised to send the fish but never did.
To make matters worse, after I called them out on their shady behavior, they blocked my IP address so I couldn't even visit their site to complain. What a true piece of work this guy is. I hope he gets what's coming to him for his wrongdoings. It's a shame because I was really looking forward to having some beautiful Discus fish in my home, but now I'll have to look elsewhere.
Poor Customer Service Experience with Discus: Rude Response to Simple Question
I recently had an experience with Discus, a company that sells fish and aquarium supplies. Being a resident of Brooklyn, I was curious if they had a physical store where I could pick up my order in person. I decided to give them a call and ask. However, the response I received was not what I was expecting.
When I called, I greeted the person on the other end and asked if it was possible to pick up my order in person since I lived nearby. Before I could even finish my sentence, the person cut me off and responded with a blunt "NO, the answer is No" and hung up the phone. I was taken aback by their response and wondered why they would be so rude.
As a former New Yorker, I understand that people in the city can be direct and to the point. However, this person's behavior was not typical of a New Yorker. It was more like that of a jerk or a^$(&())!@*. I was disappointed that they didn't even give me a chance to finish my question or explain what I was looking for.
Overall, my experience with Discus was not a positive one. While I cannot comment on the quality of their products or services, their customer service left a lot to be desired. I hope that they can improve their communication skills and treat their customers with more respect in the future.
Disappointing Experience with Discus.com: False Advertising and Lack of Communication
I recently had an experience with Discus.com that left me feeling a bit frustrated. I had ordered some American trapdoor snails and was excited to receive them. However, after almost two weeks of waiting, all I had received was a confirmation email. I decided to reach out to the company to see what was going on.
To my surprise, they informed me that they did not actually have the snails I had ordered. The only options they could offer me were either to send me Japanese trapdoor snails instead or to issue a refund. I was disappointed that I had to settle for the Japanese snails, as I already had many of them. It made me wonder what would have happened if I had never reached out to the company. Would they have just kept my money and not sent me anything?
Another issue I had was with the company's listing of products. If they didn't actually have the American trapdoor snails in stock, why were they listed as available on their website? It seems like a bit of false advertising to me.
To make matters worse, the snails I did receive ended up coming from another company, Aquahuna. While I was happy to finally receive my order, I was frustrated that I had lost money in the process. In hindsight, I should have just asked for a refund instead of settling for a different type of snail.
Overall, my experience with Discus.com was not great. While I appreciate that they did eventually send me something, I was disappointed with the lack of communication and the fact that I had to settle for a different product than what I had originally ordered. In the future, I will likely look to other companies, like Aquahuna, for my aquatic pet needs.
Discus.com: An Orwellian Nightmare of Oppression and Control
I've been using Discus.com for a long time now to share my thoughts and opinions on various topics. However, I've noticed that in the past year, my comments have been getting censored without any explanation. It's frustrating because I feel like I'm not able to express myself freely anymore. It's almost like I'm on Twitter, Facebook, Google, or YouTube, where censorship is rampant.
I recently found out that China owns Discus.com, which explains a lot. Any comment that's not flattering towards China gets censored right away. It's disappointing because Discus.com was supposed to be a platform for people to share their knowledge and opinions. But now, it feels like we're being oppressed and controlled by a foreign government.
It's not just about China, though. Discus.com has become an Orwellian nightmare of oppression and control. It's like we're living in a dystopian society where Big Brother is watching our every move. The people who run Discus.com are religious extremists who hate, sanction, insult, and blame women. It's like they're trying to silence anyone who doesn't agree with their narrow-minded views.
In my opinion, Discus.com has become a religious cult ruled by nasty sexists and misogynists. It's sad to see a platform that was once meant for free expression turn into something so oppressive. I hope that the people who run Discus.com will realize the error of their ways and start allowing people to express themselves freely once again. Until then, I'll be looking for other platforms where my voice can be heard without fear of censorship.
Disappointing Experience with Discus.com: Poor Communication and Unhealthy Plants
I recently made an order on Discus.com for some live plants to add to my new goldfish setup. I was excited to receive my order, which included 40 dollars worth of Marimo balls. However, after a week, I received an email from the seller informing me that the Marimo balls were on back order. I was disappointed, but I appreciated the communication from the seller.
I replied to the email and let the seller know that I wasn't interested in any other plants and asked about the back order time. Unfortunately, I never received a response from the seller. Instead, I received a package with what I believe to be spiky moss. I'm not entirely sure because the seller refused to tell me what he sent.
To make matters worse, the plants I received were not in the condition as pictured on the seller's website. My hornwort was brown and dying, which was a huge disappointment. I reached out to the seller several times via email, but he never answered any of my questions and gave me a terrible attitude.
I understand that things can go wrong with orders, but as a professional, the seller should list their stock accurately on their site and communicate with their customers in a respectful manner. To make matters worse, I also ordered a rock that I never received, and the seller refused to address it when I asked.
Overall, I was extremely disappointed with my experience on Discus.com. I hope that the seller takes the time to improve their customer service and communication in the future.
Disappointing Experience with Discus.com: Delayed Shipping and Confusing Policies
I've had some experience with Michael and his team at Discus.com in the past, and I have to say, I was pretty satisfied with my order. However, my most recent experience with them was not so great. I placed an order for $660.00 worth of discus, and after a week had passed, I decided to give them a call to see what was going on. Michael explained to me that because I had a large order, he needed to quarantine the fish before shipping them out. I was a bit confused, as this had never been an issue before, but I figured it was just a new policy they had put in place.
A few days later, I received an email stating that my order status had changed to "Allocated/Reserved". I wasn't sure what that meant, so I decided to give Michael another call. Unfortunately, he didn't really answer my question, but he did tell me that my fish would be shipped out at the earliest the following week. I was a bit frustrated, as I had already been waiting for a week, but I figured I could wait a little longer.
Well, that next week came and went, and still no fish. I called Michael again, and he told me that they would definitely be shipped out the following week. I reminded him that he had said the same thing the week before, but he didn't seem to care. At that point, I was pretty fed up, so I told him I wanted to cancel my order. He refunded my money, but took out 15% for some reason. When I called him to ask why, he just referred me to his policy.
I have to say, I'm pretty disappointed with my experience with Discus.com. They have a clock on their website that gives you a deadline to order and receive overnight, which has always been the case in the past. I'm not sure what's going on with them now, but it's definitely not good. I don't think I'll be ordering from them again anytime soon.
Terrible Customer Service and Misleading Information from Discus.com
I had a pretty bad experience with discus.com today. I called them up and a guy answered the phone in a really unprofessional way. He didn't even introduce himself or the company. I had to introduce myself and ask if I was even calling the right place. Then I asked him about something that was confusing me in the shopping cart. But before I could even finish talking, he cut me off and said they don't answer any questions that are already answered in their Q&A forum. I asked him if he even knew what my question was before I asked it, but he just repeated himself and hung up on me.
I have to say, if you're thinking about buying discus or any other fish from discus.com, you might want to think twice. I did a little research after my call, and it turns out they're pretty well-known for giving out misleading information, having bad quality control, and providing terrible customer service. Some people have even said that they delete and block negative comments on their site to hide the bad stuff. So if you don't want to be their next victim, I'd suggest shopping somewhere else.
DISCUS.com Review: Beautiful Fish, Terrible Service and Shipping
Yo, so I gotta talk about DISCUS.com and their fish game. Let me tell you, they got some of the most stunning fish on their website. Like, I'm talking jaw-dropping, eye-popping, beautiful. But here's the thing, when you order from them, you might not get what you actually ordered. Like, they'll just send you whatever they have in stock, even if it's not even close to what you wanted. And we're not talking about some cheap little fish, we're talking about fish that cost over 100 bucks a pop.
Now, I don't know about you, but when I'm spending that kind of money on fish, I expect to get exactly what I paid for. But that's not even the worst part. When my fish finally arrived, they were practically on death's door. The shipping was so rough that they were barely alive when they got to me. I sent DISCUS.com some pics of the fish as soon as I got them, but all they did was give me some lame excuse about discoloration from shipping. I mean, come on, I've been keeping fish for 40 years, I know the difference between discoloration and near-death.
So, I did what any responsible fish owner would do, I spent another hundred bucks on medication to try and save them. But despite my best efforts, one of them still died. I reached out to DISCUS.com again to let them know what happened, and to tell them that they sent me the wrong fish in the first place. I even offered to pay for the shipping to get the right fish sent to me. But they straight up denied me and now they won't even respond to my messages.
Honestly, I wouldn't recommend buying from DISCUS.com. Or, if you do, make sure you call them first to make sure they actually have what you want in stock. They clearly don't care about their customers and their customer service is straight up garbage. Save yourself the headache and go somewhere else.
Disappointing Customer Service Experience with Discus.com: A Review
I recently made an order from Discus (discus.com) in July 2022 for some discus and cardinal tetras, along with a group of corydoras. I was excited to receive my order and eagerly awaited the arrival of my fish. However, my experience with Discus was not as pleasant as I had hoped.
Firstly, I was disappointed to find out that they shipped my fish two days before my preferred arrival date, despite having the option to select a preferred date. When I reached out to Michael Li, I was met with a rude response, stating that it was a "preferred" arrival date. This was not the kind of customer service I was expecting.
To make matters worse, when I finally received my fish, I found that all but four of the tetras were alive. Mike had thrown in "2' extra tetras, but four of them were dead on arrival. When I contacted him about this, he asked to see a picture of my setup, which I found to be a strange request. My setup had nothing to do with the fact that the fish were dead on arrival, and I felt that his response was unhelpful and dismissive.
Despite my disappointment with the customer service, I will say that the fish themselves looked great. The corys, plecos, and discus were all healthy and colorful, and the size was accurate to the descriptions. However, the issue was with the customer service after the fact, and I felt that I was treated poorly as a customer.
It's a shame that a company with such nice fish would treat their customers like numbers. I won't be buying from them again, and I find it surprising that they have managed to become so big with this kind of customer service. I have the entire email thread and receipt if anyone needs to see it.
Discus.com Review: Dishonest Business Practices and Poor Quality Fish
This website, Discus (discus.com), is a complete joke. The owner's business practices are dishonest and greedy. I made the mistake of buying fish from this website and I regret it. I paid $450 for 6-8 inch Atabapo altums, but I received 3-4 inch fish instead. When I confronted the owner, he offered me a $70 refund, which I refused. Money is not the issue here, it's the owner's unscrupulous business practices that are the problem.
If you search for "discus.com reviews," you'll find countless negative complaints about this website. People have complained about copyright infringement of pictures and receiving fish that were not as described. I wish I had read these reviews before ordering from this website.
I recommend going directly to reputable breeders and sources like Wattley Discus for quality fish. The owner of Discus buys a well-known domain name and drops fish from Wattley Discus and other sources. I wonder if he even owns an aquarium.
Other people have had similar experiences with this website. There are three pages of complaints on sites like simplydiscus.com forum. People have called the owner a scammer and a joke. One person ordered three items from him and only received one. When they asked about the other two items, the owner blamed it on COVID and told them to wait. They ended up opening a dispute with PayPal, but the owner gave them a tracking number that only showed the one item that was delivered, so PayPal closed the dispute in his favor. This person plans to call PayPal again to get their money back.
In conclusion, I do not recommend buying fish from Discus (discus.com). The owner's dishonesty and greed make it a risky and unpleasant experience. Save yourself the trouble and go to a reputable source for quality fish.
He is charging me long after I purchased his fish for shipping. Look at his email to me. I didnt even get a credit for the 1 fish that died. Then two months later I get a mysterious charge and he said it was for a large box. Why didnt they charge me then for shipping. Wow Seems Fishy to me. No Pun intended here.

Disappointing Quality and Customer Service: My Experience with Discus.com
I recently tried out Discus.com and let me tell you, it was a real experience. At first, I was a bit skeptical because I had heard some mixed reviews about the site. But I decided to give it a shot anyways.
The ordering process was pretty simple and straightforward. I was able to find the discus fish that I wanted and add them to my cart without any issues. However, when it came time to checkout, I did notice that the prices were a bit higher than what I was expecting.
But I figured that maybe the quality of the fish would make up for the higher price. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. When my order arrived, I was pretty disappointed with the quality of the fish. They didn't look anything like the pictures on the website and some of them even had some visible defects.
To make matters worse, when I tried to contact customer service about my concerns, I didn't get a response for several days. And when I finally did get a response, it wasn't very helpful.
Overall, I wouldn't recommend Discus.com to anyone looking for high-quality discus fish. While the ordering process was easy enough, the quality of the fish and the customer service left a lot to be desired. Save your money and look elsewhere for your discus fish needs.
Buyer Beware: My Experience with Discus.com - Don't Waste Your Money
Discus.com is a website that sells fish, but be careful because they might take your money and never send you the fish you ordered. If you try to get a refund, they might even take part of your money. It's not a good experience.
Also, the picture on the website is not a real fish store. It's actually a picture of Mr. Michael Li's condo, where he sells the fish from and drop ships them from suppliers. It's not a professional setup, and it might make you question the quality of the fish you're buying.
Overall, I wouldn't recommend using Discus.com to buy fish. There are better options out there that won't take your money and leave you without any fish.
Disappointing Experience with Michael at Discus.com: Smaller and Starving Fish
So, I gotta tell ya, my experience with Michael over at discus.com was just plain awful. I mean, I was super stoked to get my hands on some new fish, but when they arrived, they were way smaller than what I had ordered. And to make matters worse, they looked like they hadn't eaten in weeks! I mean, seriously, it was like they were on some kind of fishy hunger strike or something. Needless to say, I was pretty disappointed. I mean, I don't know about you, but when I order something, I expect to get what I paid for. And in this case, I definitely did not. So, yeah, needless to say, I won't be buying from Michael again.

Disappointed with Quality of Golden Diamond Discus Fish from Discus.com
I recently purchased a golden diamond discus fish from Discus.com and unfortunately, I was disappointed with the quality of the fish. The fish appeared to be peppered and looked quite dirty. As a hobbyist, I believe that this is a low-grade fish and should not be sold as a high-quality fish. I am not alone in this opinion, as many other hobbyists would agree with me.
When I contacted customer service, I spoke with Michael who tried to convince me that this was a normal occurrence. However, I strongly disagree. It is not normal for a fish to look dirty and peppered, especially when it is supposed to be a high-quality fish.
Overall, I was not satisfied with my purchase from Discus.com. I believe that they should be more selective in the fish that they sell and ensure that they are of a higher quality. As a customer, I expect to receive a product that is worth the money that I paid for it. Unfortunately, this was not the case with my purchase from Discus.com.
