Bad service, indifferent to helping me
I am only giving 2 stars because until this last weekend, I LOVED Drizly.
This last weekend I tried placing an order for delivery in time for a brunch I was hosting. Well my order was canceled due to a payment error. After calling my bank and determining nothing was wrong with my card, I tried again. Canceled. I got an email requesting I confirm my info. I replied. Whoever from Drizly responded I hadn’t filled out the requested info; he clearly had not scrolled down to see where I did. I told him never mind and ordered from UberEats.
I preferred Drizly to UberEats so I tried again to order more bottles for an NBA Finals viewing party I was hosting yesterday. Again, canceled. I tried asking what was wrong. No reply all night. So I went back to UberEats.
I tried to follow up this morning, as I am a regular of Drizly. Got a formulaic “we can’t process your orders with the info provided” email. No explanation. So I replied asking why, given I have used Drizly regularly with all the same info for two years with no incident. Nothing. So I followed up with a message stating I would hate to go but it looks like I can’t use Drizly anymore? Got a reply saying they will close my account. No effort to help or save my business.
I guess UberEats it is. Disappointing.
Can’t Complain about Booze Delivery
Is this app perfect? No. Is any app perfect? Absolutely not.
I will say that the customer service is great. Any time my order is late, which only happens during peak hours, I get an apology email with a promo code for my next order. I like that the app gives you options if the store is out of your product; “replace with store suggestion” or “call me”. I’ve had both happen, and both times I ended up with good product.
The fees and driver tip add up, but honestly I deserve to pay a bit more for being too lazy to hit the liquor store. Or, if I was hosting a party and needed more alcohol, it would be a great relief to NOT have to go to the store, so realistically, I don’t mind paying extra.
The only thing that can be confusing is if you select items you want, though they come from two different stores. You either have to meet both store’s minimums (usually over $20 and up to $70), or just pick one store and then product from that store’s selection. I don’t think I can fault the app for that, though it would be nice if they can streamline it more by maybe letting me browse by store instead of items, or not charge a huge fee plus both store minimums for split orders.
I have and will continue to recommend this app to others, and use it for my liquor needs for the foresees future.
It’s my alcohol and I need it now!
Remember that ad? I do. All those people wondering where their money was. This is like that except with alcohol. I placed an order for delivery on a Friday afternoon around 7, Drizzly says their are lots of orders due to this dang virus that’s messing up the world (crazy times, can’t wait till this is over, hope everyone reading this is safe,) so it might take a little longer than usual. I’m not impatient. As long as I get it that night I’m happy! Planned to make some drinks. Liquor never came. Waited hours and hours, no calls and no emails and no texts. I wake up late next morning to a notification saying my order was delivered. Woke up excited, expected it to either be in my entryway or apartment and it was nowhere to be found. I called the store, the owner remembers seeing my address in the queue but doesn’t remember anyone delivering there. So I asked Drizzly where my stuff was. No answer. For a whole day, no answer. So I tried again the next morning and again no answer. I finally wrote at 5:30 on Sunday about 48 hours after I placed the order and got a very quick reply and found my money was being returned to me. While I thank Drizzly for finally making things right, it took a ridiculously long time and I’m looking elsewhere for liquor delivery. If you choose to use the app, I hope your experience is different.
A Let Down
Please don’t advertise that you can deliver items within an hour if you can’t guarantee it. Downloaded the app and was excited to use it for the first time. I was running late, so decided to give it a try. I placed an order while i started cooking dinner. By the time I was done cooking and ready to eat, I decided to check my order an hour and 10 minutes later. It was still at the store! Couldn’t find a phone number, so i had to write an email.
To their credit, they responded quickly. Amazingly enough, after I wrote the first email, I then received a phone call from a driver apologizing it was going to take longer than advertised (an additional 25 minutes). This is a phone call expected within the initial hour. I then get a reply stating “I'm very sorry there was a delay with your order. We're working hard to bring on additional retailers to cut down on delivery time in the future.” The liquor is less than 10 minutes from my house. They offered to credit my account on their next two replies, but I just wanted to cancel my order because at this point it would be faster for me to go to the store and get it myself. I do want to compliment their customer service. Replies were quicker than expected. I’ll be monitoring my bank account to make sure it’s returned. Tried to use their service because it was convenient at the time.
Privacy/Safety Concern
I learned about the app the week before the covid-19 lockdown and wanted to try it out. Limited selection to choose and some of the items are overpriced compared to the actual price at the store. You are notified throughout the entire order process through text and app which I really like.
My experience went south when I learned my order was picked up by a doordash driver (your order is either delivered through doordash or the partner which you don't find out until much later in the process).
A mysterious vehicle with tinted windows pulls up in front of my driveway and takes an odd amount of time to demonstrate that he is the delivery person. During the interaction, I learned that the delivery person, also a stranger, is required to take a photo of your ID with their personal cellular device which to me is unsafe and not practical from a privacy standpoint.
Customer service via actual Drizly employees (customer service, legal) was great but I can not support a company where a stranger, especially from a third-party such as doordash who has experienced a privacy/security breach, is taking a photograph/scanning my ID on their personal device. There are other workarounds to ensure that people of legal age are ordering and using the app.
Update: deleting your account and info is a hassle since a third-party vendor (One-Trust) is managing the data.
Never got my order
I made an order yesterday, there was an error with my address one number was changed. The driver went to my neighbor, my neighbor informed the driver I was next door. The driver never came to my house, and left. My order was then listed as packed the remainder of the night.
I tried calling customer service, no one was available (granted it was later so that’s understandable) I sent several emails explaining my issue.
The next day came and I called again and talked to a very helpful customer service representative. I said I don’t want a refund I would just like my order please and I like the service. She informed me this would be taken care of and I even got a email confirming when my order would arrive.
This did not happen, I later got a email and call letting me know that my one door down was out of the delivery zone.
That I would be refunded but because it’s a Saturday I probably won’t be getting that refund anytime soon. I was super understanding and willing to take my order a day later but it’s incredibly frustrating. I called again and had a different customer service representative who was not helpful at all and I felt like he just wanted to get off the phone with me. I tried calling door dash’s customer service but they are not taking customer calls from none restaurants now.
I called again, and had a much better experience with customer service. They apologized for the confusion and gave me a $10 discount on my reorder I really appreciate this.
Just. no. Use another app or get local deliveries!
I’ve used this app a few times and each time besides the first time has been a problem. Not only do they charge however much they feel like ( I’ll get to that), they also update your orders without notifying you ( that too).
My driver initially left with my order, he was in a rush - apparently, even with COVID and this is the first I’m hearing about it. You’re required to provide your ID at the door. (that’s not convenient, fast or safe for someone quarantining like me) I had to call customer service to get my order re delivered, which surprise surprise was NOT my whole order.
Seems the vendor took it on themselves to change my order to what they did have in stock without contacting me. Changes were made on my account without my consent! The driver finally made it back only to argue with me about tipping him! Oh yes, he would not leave until he got a tip and demanded cash. I told him no, I was already charged for this. Nonetheless, I was charged 2 dollars tip. Hard coded into my order. Again unauthorized. To make matters worse, I was charged twice on my bank account with 2 separate amounts that do not match my receipt as well as some service charges which I get ( I made sure to get my proper receipt sent over from customer service to show the lunacy). All this for one order! Anyway, this is my last order with Drizzly, I am also disputing those charges with my bank. Don’t make this mistake! Just use a better app with more convenience. Find local deliveries you’ll figure it’s much cheaper too!
Don’t order from this app and save yourself the stress
Ordered with hopes of not having to leave my house even though there is a gas station around the corner. The point is not having to leave your house right? This app has absolutely no tracking like Uber eats or Uber to know what is going on with your order. After saying it had been packed and was en route, then DELIVERED suddenly with no one calling me and me standing outside my front door, I eventually gave up. My order was supposed to had been received over an hour earlier then upon checking the app again it said my order was still being packed. I tried calling the liquor store several times to no avail because no one answered and was extremely frustrated that all I could do was email them waiting on a response. I said I just wanted to cancel and my money back. I never got a response until yesterday, 2 days later and just checked to make sure my money had been refunded back to my account so I wasn’t charged for that mess I didn’t want to pay for anymore! I know this app isn’t as big as some others but I should have at least gotten a call from customer support so I knew that my issue with my order was being addressed and that I wasn’t being scammed. Definitely won’t be ordering again just because of the inconvenience and them charging my account for a service which wasn’t provided. I get that apps aren’t perfect, it’s a pandemic and mistakes happen, however I should have been contacted by some type of support in a prompt manner of time instead of being left to freak out after giving them my credit card info
How do you have a 4.9??????
Where to begin? I tried placing an order on 3/17 around 7-730pm. I received confirmation that the order was received and packed. I called an hour and a half later and was told the order was on the way but there was a few stop in between, I’m okay with that. I CALLED again around 9-930 and was told the order can’t be fulfilled, remind you, I was already told it was on the way. So I tried AGAIN on 3/18, (because they gave me a credit). Due to “back up” issues, I placed my order around 4-430, to give PLENTY OF TIME, to receive my order. I got confirmation the order was received AGAIN and packaged and READY FOR PICK UP. I waited until about 7pm (because I know it’s busy) just to see if my order would be picked up before the store was closed. I spoke with a lady, who was very nice and sweet, to figure out what was going on. She called me back to let me know they “attempted” to contact me, by email ( which DID NOT happen), letting me know they did not have my items, but yet ABC said it was READY and packaged ( I called ABC myself). They made it seem like it was my fault. I never received a call or anything about this “mishap”. I had to contact them MYSELF 2 days in row. I’m not sure if it’s a lack of drivers or what, but this is just ridiculous! In total I waited about 7 hours in 2 days for answers, that I had to seek out myself. Horrible handling and just so inconvenient. I am willing to try AGAIN, but I am expecting to be disappointed, once AGAIN.
SD: Aubrey was great and sweet, even during my wine melt down, thank you Aubrey!
I will not be using this App again
Placed my order at 4:30 with an estimate delivery time of 4:58. Within 5 minutes the app said my order was in route. When the delivery estimate was not achieved - I called customer service. They said it would be delivered soon and that while there own app gave me an estimated delivery time of 30 mins when I placed my order they actually had 60 mins to deliver on time. When the hour was up I called again. The customer service rep said I’d receive my order soon. When I said I didn’t trust this answer, he said he’d call the driver / vendor and call me back. He did not. At 6:15 (1:45 mins after my order) I called again as the app said the delivery was still in route. This time I insisted that I stayed on the phone while the Drizzly rep called the delivery person. I was then inform 2 hours after my original order, after 3 people assured me my order would arrive soon, and after my app said my order was in route for almost two hours - that the vendor working with Drizzly did not have any delivery people for my order and that my order never left for delivery. The order was cancelled. I told the rep this was completely unacceptable after 2 hours and all the false information I received. She said they’d refund my order and give me a $10 credit towards my next order. She could not reroute my order to another vendor and that there was no supervisors working or reachable to get authority for a more reasonable solution given what the put me through. I would only order again from Drizzley if I didn’t really care if it showed up or not.
Only Pleased Once
The very first time my roommate and I ordered off of Drizly was New Year's Eve (2019/2020). Our order that day was absolutely perfect and it only took a little over an hour to receive.
We have ordered about 5 times since then, and it's never gotten better. Twice, our order was cancelled and we got free delivery for the next order (thank you customer service). But since then it's taken 2+ hours to receive our order, and the minimum spending amount has gone up to $70 from $40.
This last order I think was the last straw for me. The order took nearly 3 hours to arrive, half of what I ordered was out of stock and needed to be replaced by something else, and when it got here, the poor driver's app wouldn't let her scan my ID. It took almost an HOUR for that to be rectified so that I could finally have my $80 order. 4. Hours.
I understand there is currently a surge in orders with the pandemic and am sympathetic, but even before the pandemic I questioned if this app was really worth it. I will wait for customer service to reply to me for this latest experience, but I'm not hopeful. I just wish I could tip the driver extra since she wasn't even working through Drizly, but Door Dash, and that experience really stressed her out (plus she had ANOTHER Drizly delivery right after mine with the same issues happening).
For reference to anyone reading this, I am in MA, USA, and alcohol deliveries just started becoming popular this year. So I cut some slack in my rating for my location and considering the pandemic creating more demand than they had time to prepare for, but things could really be improved.
DO NOT USE - SAN DIEGO Drizzly has screwed me over twice
I attempted to order two high end bottles through Drizzly - one for a Christmas gift and one for a 50th birthday gift. Both times I was told the bottle was delivered. NOPE! First one the store didn’t have it and the store didn’t do anything until I called and spoke with store manager to have it refunded. Drizzly didn’t care - didn’t try to make it right. Today I did my homework. Called the store to ensure they had it and all was good. My friend received text saying driver was 20 mins away. After an hour I asked if he had received it - Nope! I called driver and he said he delivered it? He would call me back. No call back. Called the store and he said his driver gave it to Uber driver and it’s out of their hands. Store called my friend to ask if he received and he confirmed no. I called store and they told me to call Drizzly support. After being on hold with Drizzly they said they would cancel my order and my $ would be refunded in 3-5 business days. I asked if they were going to do anything to make this right? No. I asked if I could speak to a supervisor- No- she was the highest person on. Do not risk the heartache, disappointment and delay in refunding your money! *** when you call or send an email to support they limit your complaint to 255 characters AND when they respond They send the same canned email response essentially threatening that the store reserves the right to charge a restock fee. THE STORE WAS NOT THE PROBLEM - this time it was the UBer driver and Drizzly support. They take no responsibility for anything - it’s always someone else’s problem and they do not have a resolution process. Save yourself - do GoPuff if avail in your area or ReserveBar if you don’t need it today.
All of my orders have FAILED
The first time I ordered at 8 o’clock because that was the opening hours listed on the app. It said estimated delivery time 35-50 minutes, which sounded fair to me. Almost two hours roll by, so I contact support via email, Facebook, Twitter, to no response. So I finally call the store and the clerk says “oh, our driver isn’t going to be here until 12:00.” Well that would have been nice to know since it charged my account before the order AND placed a tip. The store owner gave me the direct number to their customer service line since it’s not listed in the app. It’s [protected], by the way. I had to cancel and it took them 3-5 business days to refund my money back to my card.
The second time, I watched and waited outside as the app told me the order was en route, and waited and waited, with my specific address and apartment number and detailed notes on how to get to my home, and the app all of a sudden says “delivered.” I’m standing outside waiting and they’re supposed to CHECK FOR AN ID. They gave my order to a random person and I had to pay for it. So I call the BevMo to ask if they know anything about the driver, and they tell me I have to contact Drizly. So I do that again to no response. Luckily I still had the number I got from the first store owner and called. They told me it was delivered. I explained I’ve been waiting outside and got no phone call, and don’t have my order. They said they sent a person from Door Dash so I would have to contact Door Dash. Oh no. Not today. The lady at Drizly said she would reach out and try to send another driver and get back to me. It’s been 45 minutes now and I still haven’t heard anything.
These people are so unorganized it’s embarrassing. Huge waste of time and money. Do not use this app. Stick to Postmates.
Fast, efficient, responsive
We are in lockdown in our state. (I am hopeful this will be a Bizzarre reference in another year to anyone reading reviews.)
Liquor stores are still considered to be an essential business but it’s simply risky for many people including myself to go to public places. DRIZLY has provided a superb service for delivery of all types of alcohol, And at an extremely good price, especially in light of the excellence of their service here.
In the last month I have wanted to replenish our wine stock, and also I wanted to add some specialty bottles for virtual tastings of whiskeys and Cognac’s. Let’s face it. These virtual meetings are what is keeping most people’s social groups together.
The most important points to make are that when I type in a particular thing I want, the app shows me where it is most closely available and in several places also shows many competitive prices at other stores. What could I ask for more? One thing is if the store makes a mistake. I have placed several orders with them over the last eight weeks and in at least one order the wrong item was sent. I wrote to drizzly and also called the store. Drizzly responded within 15 minutes and the store responded within a few hours. In both cases they immediately said they would correct my bill and if I wanted they would send out an exchange. I have never heard a response this efficient and this appropriate from any online order ever before.
Concerning the deliveries they read the instructions for exactly where around the house to deliver, their personnel are polite and friendly but cautious, taking every care for the restrictions at this time.
Bottom line is they are super, they are perfect for people who are homebound for whatever reason, or maybe like me I hope in the future just never wanted to go to the store again because I’m lazy!
Late delivery, swapped items and no refund (Drizly did finally fix!)
Placed order on 12/20, was scheduled for delivery on 12/21 between 8-9AM. No delivery took place and no contact or notification given. On 12/22 around 8AM I checked my order status and my order showed it was delivered at 11:59 PM on 12/21 (which it was not). I sent a “support” message via the app, asking where my order was and that it had not been delivered (auto reply simply stated they were “busier than usual and could not respond to requests for order status”. In the afternoon of 12/22 I got a phone call from someone asking if I still wanted my delivery and that they were really far behind because they had been in the hospital (say what? I hope they are okay?), I responded “yes”. They then told me that the brand I had ordered was out of stock and would I like an alternative, I said “sure”. About 2 hours later my order was delivered with an “alternate” that when I look on the Drizly app, goes for about $20 less than the item I ordered. They made no mention of a credit or refund and I again had to submit a “support message” via their app. That was 24 hours ago, and while I’ve gotten reminders to “review our service” and even “place another order”, I have heard or seen nothing more about my mishandled order and overpaid switcheroo...Thank god I had something to drink, because I am done with this headache of an app and service...cheers! . Updated to 2 stars as Drizly customer service reached out and credited the full order and provided a $10 credit, that was generous and one stores actions doesn’t mean you’ll have the same issues. They appear to contract with independent liquor stores to process/deliver the orders, and the one I selected had some issues and may or may not be part of their program anymore. Tip, find a store you like and provides good service and try that one on the app!
NEVER AGAIN DELETE THIS APP!
this was my first and last time ever using this scam of a company. I placed an order around 7:30 PM and was told I would receive it by 8:45 PM I was charged and there is definitely way too many little fees like a $30 bottle turns of $50 so fast with all the fees and that’s not even including the tip. I kept checking the status of the order and it wasn’t moving. It was just saying like stuck on the packing so I was contacting cost customer service which is very hard to do. There’s no phone number you have to fill out this long form and then they email you back which is very annoying and they just basically kept telling me that they were running late. I even got a text message from Dr. liquor store that they were running late. I was still going to get it so I’m waiting putting my night on pause it’s already 11:00 PM still haven’t received it I fill out the Stupid form for customer service again and get the email saying that they’re so sorry they gave me no delivery fee on my next two orders as if I’m ever going to go through this again yeah right, at this point I’m very frustrated midnight comes I checked the status again and it says order canceled. Nobody told me they canceled it. I had already been charged still actually have a charge pending on my account which they tell me I’m not to worry about to call my bank. It’s a Friday night. I’m gonna call my bank because y’all messed up. No the only response I got from them was there sorry are and that they’re gonna give me once again to three deliveries the next two times that I will never use this company again when I tell you, they ruined my whole Friday night waiting for them. Then they took my money and they canceled my order five hours after I placed it and no one even told me use another delivery service. Any other delivery service will work besides this one I promise you.
Save the frustration and use another service
I ordered my order 2 hours ago and let me tell you what has transpired in that time.
First the guy calls me and tells me he’s the only driver working and that he has 8 other orders and that it’s gonna take a minute. Ok fine. It’s Wednesday night and we’re in a pandemic.
Then he calls about 45 minutes later and says he’s about two miles away and wants to know if we will meet him at the front of our complex. That’s a 15 minute walk in the dark with a six pack, a handle of rum and two 2L bottles of soda. I say no because i’ve already had some drinks and am not about to operate my vehicle in that condition. I generally don’t drive after just one and I was in the middle of having my second. He also is expecting me to walk in the dark to meet someone I don’t know in a neighborhood and city I just moved to.
He says fine the he’s instead going back to the store to get even more orders insinuating that since I didn’t agree, I would be waiting even longer. So contact Drizly and the rep was apologetic and offered a $10 credit. Fine.
Another 45 minutes go by and I text the driver for an ETA and he says “I can’t give you an ETA, I’m not near you anymore and I have 6 other orders ahead of you. That’s why I wanted to make it easier on you by having you meet me up front” to me reiterating that it was our fault I was waiting because we didn’t want to walk 15 minute in the dark in a place I don’t know yet to meet a guy who I’ve never met to then have to walk all that way back with my order. This guy made me feel like he was doing me a casual favor for rather than a lying customer. I’m not some one waiting on a drug dealer, I paid full price plus fees plus a tip for a service.
At this point I try to cancel my order because I don’t want this person at my house but the app won’t let me. So I respond to the email from the rep I worked with earlier and get a short seemingly automated message letting me know my order has been canceled. I’m absolutely shocked by this experience. I have been ordering delivery for literally EVERYTHING since the beginning of the pandemic and have never encountered such a ridiculous situation from any of them. I will not be using Drizly again. Just like with anyone else, I’m sure I’ll tell my friends and family and as ridiculous as this was, I’m sure they’ll tell someone else. I have a lot of patience when it comes to the service industry as I worked in it for 15 years and still gig as a Door Dasher but this was beyond any reality I could have imagine for this situation.
Greatest App since Sliced Bread
[TL;DR] Drizly is one of the best
innovations to come along since
mankind invented the wheel, the
television, and even the microwave!
Drizly in a nutshell:
- Excellent concept
(They can make Beer Appeareth);
- Excellent Application Features
(Great Search Options);
- Excellent Application Design
[to me] (This Apps’ User-Interface
represents the pinnacle of
Human-Device interaction);
- Excellent Customer Service
(See my full review)
Verdict:
10/10 (This app is one of the best in
existence)
Now for the full version
Wow! I have been using the Drizly app for about 6 months now and have never been disappointed.
Pros: - Very easy to use/intuitive User
Interface
- Very easy to make changes to
account/address/payment
information (I have good friends
who have a lake house and I
regularly order to both their
address and my own seamlessly)
- Great selection from several
different stores (and growing)
- Excellent search filter options and
tools for presenting products in
an organized manner to help
me both find exactly what I’m
looking for when I want it while
also allowing me numerous
options to browse when I am not
sure what I want.
- Polite, efficient delivery drivers
who are courteous to my
neighbors by never blocking
their driveways
and finally, the reason to that got me
actually writing this review
- Superb customer service! Like
actually though, the team
behind Drizly is amazing! I had a
question regarding an order and
I was able to ask it directly
through the built-in ‘ask-
a-question’ app feature just as
though I was sending a text
message. I received a detailed
response addressing my
question in under a minute
that handled my issue directly
which was written by a HUMAN
BEING.
11/10 for Drizly’s Customer
Service team’s amazing work!
Cons: - One minor con I have is that there
is no in-app system in place
(yet) for Drizly’s parter stores
to indicate that they have run
out of stock of an item. This is a
minor complaint though since I
have only had a store not have
an item in stock on less than a
handful of times.
[Given the nature of how Drizly
works through operating with
numerous partner stores
(of which many probably use
their own custom inventory-
tracking system), the
logistical nightmare behind
implementing such an App-
wide feature makes its absence
understandable]
One last point:
- A Major Con is the fact that
modern 21st century science
STILL hasn’t figured out the
voodoo black-magic secrets
behind the mystical art of
inanimate-object-teleportation-
fields which could be built for
instantaneous transfer of goods
(such as beer) to arbitrary
locations in space (such as my
fridge). This means there is an
(albeit very short) wait between
when I first place an order and
when it arrives*.
[Actually, based off my
experiences with the amazing
features provided by Drizly, it
would not surprise me if this
was a feature they were
actively working on!]
(*Note on wait times: Drizly [in
my experience] has always been
incredibly punctual, always arriving
in under half the time it would have
taken me to go to the store myself,
even when the app claimed it was
peak hours! [Like on a sunny Friday
evening] )
Well there you have it, if you are still reading this [and over 21 in USA] then what the heck are you waiting for, download Drizly now!
Drizly Complaints 17
It’s a ripoff
It’s a ripoff for the customer that gets absurd fees for products and late deliveries, and it’s a ripoff for the retailer that has to carry over all the fees which amounts for more than 50% of the profits. And even if money or your community is not you concern you have the issue of your data being mined by the big liquor corporations that pay Drizly for it.
This “company” is as baseless as it could be, they don’t have the drivers, the liquor, the license... it’s just a marketing company making money off the poor mom and pop stores while they sell of your information.
So please, if you have any respect for your local store. That is not making anything on the sales of the bottles due to how hard they force them to lower their prices. If you have any good memory in your heart about a time where our lives where not dictated by spineless boards and marketing companies that leech on all sides. If you have any love for anything that’s real, do not get this app.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
Very disappointed
Totally unreliable. Especially for a gift. I tried to order a delivery gift for a friend for her birthday while I was out of town and ended up having to get a refund. First- they contacted my giftee that it was coming, which I was hoping was a surprise. Then when it was supposed to be delivered... I got a notification the driver “was outside”. That was it. I texted my friend to let her know and she looked and no one came to the door or anything. My status was changed to “packed”. I had to try to contact them through the only contact they have... a submission. I finally got an email hours later Saying they could t deliver after attempting to contact me by phone . The only number they had was mine and I never received a text or a call. I was told my order was delivered back to the store and I had to contact the store. I finally did and just cancelled my order and ruined my bday surprise for my friend. Poor communication indeed. I will likely not use this again... not reliable!

Drizly selling spoiled/tampered product
tl;dr - They work with stores selling substandard or spoiled product and they will not do anything if you are smart enough to call them out on it.
I ordered a relatively expensive bottle of cognac in NYC from their app. Upon opening the bottle it was clearly either spoiled or tampered with. Upon reaching out to support they told me they would send someone to pick up the bottle and return it to the store for exchange or a refund. This seemed like the appropriate level of customer service.
When I replied back with times they could pick-up the bottle a different support person (this time someone in a Senior Customer Experience role) told that they reached out to the store who told Drizly that the product was properly sealed and packaged and that they would not be exchanging or refunding the product. Of course they would say that, especially since this particular brand is known to be tampered with. Out of principle I’m now taking this up with the proper authorities. Avoid this app.

No Delivery, No Refund, & Terrible Customer Service
I ordered for my first time ever with Drizly this past Saturday. My order never arrived even though I was home and no one knocked or used my apartment call buzzer. I also never received any notifications by text, email, or app about the status of my delivery. However, the driver somehow marked it as delivered. Not sure how they did that without checking my ID to match my name on the order!
I emailed customer service within a couple hours of not hearing anything and seeing the app showed as delivered. I got an initial response telling me to check around the outside of my apartment (which I already had). I emailed back to let them know that I checked, the emailed again just to ask for a refund and never heard back. That was 2 days ago. I reached out again by email this morning and haven’t heard anything.
Oh, and their customer service can only be reached by email. They don’t have any phone numbers provided for customer service. What a load of trash.
Drizly is nothing but a bunch of thieves!

Disappointing Experience
I decided to use Drizly for a product that is not available in my local area, but was purportedly available near my daughter’s workplace. Because the store had a minimum order, I had to order an additional item to meet the minimum. At the last minute, just before delivery, the store adjusted the order, removing the item I really wanted and leaving only the item I added to meet the minimum. I had no option to cancel the order. I was left with an item I would not have ordered through Drizly in the first place!
After the app notified me the driver was outside, the status soon changed to canceled. The address on the order is my daughter’s workplace which is a coffee house. I got an email saying:
Unfortunately for liability reasons, our retail partner needs to deliver to an approved business or residential address.
I fail to understand how the delivery address is not an approved business? At least I won’t be charged for the item I didn’t really want.
I won’t be making this mistake again! Drizly deleted.

Horrible Customer Service / Horrible Client service
Welcome to another app that has no way to interact or speak to another human being. This deserves 0 stars.
Don’t expect things to go smoothly whether your a customer or provider.
If there is ever fraud on either side Drizly retreats into an email confined corner and sites their rules and regulations, but still charges the clients credit cards, and debits the funds from the provider. Sometimes even weeks after the “suspicious” transaction.
I feel for any of their drivers, employees, or should I say “bots”. I once relieved an email from “Ray” to “Ray” - and my name is not “Ray”. Clearly they have a copy/paste form letter for any communication.
When I pointed this out and asked for a supervisor, I was told the new person, “Ana”, was a supervisor. I then requested her supervisor, the company went dark for over a week until both the client and provider worked together to get a “supervisor” - but no voices, just more generic form emails.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Customer Service is the worst
Overall I was extremely happy with this service until my 4th order. The card I was using was declined as it was a gift card, I switched it back to my regular debit card before replacing the order which was on my account the whole time. Suddenly I can’t access my account anymore and I am told I cannot order now or anytime in the future until its fixed. (Can’t fix it if I cant get into my account) I then entered a chatroom and was asked my info, then asked what was wrong. I explained, then I was told the exact same thing the app told me “you need to fix your card”. Then I was instantly booted from the chatroom. I filed a request for information as to what was going on and as of two weeks now I still have not received any response or help.
I was extremely friendly during the whole process which is why I am giving them a 1 star.
Great service/idea however, the customer service was insanely terrible, rude and disrespectful.
For anyone using this, just check out as a guest. Having an account with them is simply a bad idea.

WORST EXPERIENCE!
Had the worst experience ordering from Drizly. First of all, my order was over $76. Received a notification that my order was on the way about an hour after I ordered. Never heard anything after that and never got a call from the driver. Waited a while longer and then checked the app only to find that my order had been marked as delivered. I am under the impression that the driver has to see me and take a pic of my I.D. before they can deliver the alcohol, so this makes no sense. I called the liquor store and they couldn’t do anything so they gave me Drizly’s customer support number. Called Drizly and they said they couldn’t do anything either since the driver was a DoorDash driver. Drizly said they’d contact DoorDash and get back to me. It’s been almost 3 days and still haven’t heard anything and still haven’t received a refund for the load of alcohol I ordered that never showed up. Very upset that this situation has been so stressful and that the 3 companies I’ve had to contact have not been helpful. Would very much so appreciate my $76 back.

Awful Everything
I was very excited to place a Drizly order and get some booze that’s not available at my local liquor store. I placed the order at 4pm and chose to have it delivered between 6 and 7pm. I got a notification around 6:30 saying the order was on the way. I got a notification at 7:30 saying the delivery driver was outside with my order. He was not. At 7:45 the status of the order was changed to “Delivered” even though it clearly wasn’t. I reached out to Drizly and they got back to me an hour later saying they had no way of checking the status of the delivery. By 10pm I gave up hope and didn’t even feel like having a drink anymore. I decided to go to bed. At 11:18pm the driver called me saying he was outside with my order. I had to get out of bed, put clothes on and meet him outside. I would have canceled the order, but didn’t have the option to because the order was essentially not active having been marked as delivered. Do not use this app. You could walk back and forth to your closest liquor store 3 or 4 times in the time it takes Drizly to deliver your booze.

Wow, failed at everything
I normally don’t even bother with leaving negative reviews, but this one is worth it.
I paid $90 for an order to be delivered in an hour. 24 hours later it still hadn’t been delivered despite living a in top 20 major city. Okay, I can forgive that with the pandemic and all.
The next day it says a driver picked it up and delivered it. I have a security system, nobody was here. Maybe they dropped it off at my neighbors? Nope. My area doesn’t have problems with deliveries ever.
Do they have customer service? Nope. I had to submit a form and got an email back 24 hours later apologizing saying that this is normal these days. Now I have to wait 2-5 days for them to MAYBE refund my credit card.
Btw you can’t remove your credit card info via the app, you have to log in on desktop. I have no interest in trying them again and they make it as difficult as possible to remove my information.
Run run away. Even the email responses didn’t spend 15 seconds to read about my complaint. This company is a joke and you should never give them your information or credit card.

Unprofessional mess
Zero stars if I could. I tried this service for the first time and am extremely disappointed in it and their customer service. I ordered one bottle of margs for dinner for my friend and I at her house. I got a call over an hour later from door dash saying that my order had been cancelled, but the app said my order was still in the works. I emailed Drizly asking about my order. The app fine print says that if I cancel I might be charged $5, and I was trying to avoid that because it wasn’t my error. Finally after the second email and over 2 hours later I received a response from Drizly telling me to give them another hour to see if it showed up. I asked to cancel and for a refund because I had left my friends house at this point (almost 3 hours after I ordered). My order was canceled, but then the next morning I received an email that I actually WOULD be charged because it had been delivered late at night. Overall I was charged almost $40 for one bottle of margs from a liquor store 10 min away that was delivered almost 4 hours after I ordered that I never received.

Scam
My first order with this app went great. My second order was a nightmare. First off none of the promo codes work for me but I still ordered. I had three separate transactions on my card, 1st: the amount of my order, 2nd: $1.99, 3rd: $4.82. I got no information on what the other two transactions were for. The driver never showed up or contacted me. I live in a very easy to navigate building, so I can only assume they never got out of the car. I was then told that my order was sent back to the store and I had to call the store to get the driver to come back out. Well obviously the store never picked up the phone. When I contacted the app I was told to cancel my order and pay the store a $20 restocking fee, on top of hoping I get a full refund including tip. This app may not be an outright scam, but there’s no way to protect you or your money if something goes wrong. Thanks to a A series of events that were out of my control I’m out $90 and the customer service department has completely stopped responding to me on the matter. I hope this helped someone before spending a bunch of money here.

Just call your neighborhood liquor store. Safer, faster
we’ve used Drizly for 6 years and enjoyed the convenience even if their inventory system is NEVER up to date and the store would end up calling to tell us half our items were out of stock. But since pandemic hit, there’s been not much change in their policies. I get that they need to see an ID but after dark, your ID won’t scan through a glass door. You’re going to have to be face to face with your delivery guy. Many times I’ve had to ask the driver to take the mask off their chin and put it on their face. Then there’s an endless and awkward exchange as they manually enter you ID and mess up, backspace. I timed the last one at 8 minutes. Outside, thankfully but think about 8 minutes breathing in your couriers breath 2 feet away when you were trying to be safe and stay home. They all say the same thing DRIZLY REQUIRES US TO DO THIS. Now we just call the neighborhood liquor store. They’re cheaper, quicker and leave the sh outside our door because they know us. Drizly it’s been real and it’s been fun but it’s now a pandemic and you need to not require me to catch a plague to have a couple beers in front of a tv.

Too expensive and inconvenient
I’ve been using the app for a little less than a year now and have finally had enough. I live in Nashville, so they can’t blame it on lack of liquor stores. While it is convenient to have alcohol delivered straight to your door, they make the experience as seemingly frustrating as they possibly can. The prices/fees are outrages and the minimum charges are often ridiculously high. You’ll place an order that will give an expected 45 minute delivery window, but in reality it will take well over an hour and sometimes 2 hours with no explanation or warning. The orders are often incorrect, and while they are quick to respond to issues, they will hardly make even with you. I had an incorrect order and wanted a refund for the items I didn’t receive, but they gave me an in-app credit that didn’t even cover the missing items. On top of that, the liquor stores are no longer taking orders for whatever reason, so I can’t even use my unfair credit if I wanted to. If you like paying 75-100 dollars per order, don’t mind the frustrations of long delivery times and lack of competence with filling orders, then this app is for you.

Drizly will give out your personal info to pretty much anybody
Placed an order through Drizly. Then the order is outsourced to Doordash. Now Doordash (a service I’ve never used before) has my personally identifiable information so one of its drivers can complete the order. Driver shows up and wants to see my ID (age verification, presumably. I show him my driver’s license AND HE STARTS TYPING THE INFO INTO HIS PERSONAL CELL PHONE.
When asked where my driver’s license information is going, he replies “Doordash” (again, a company I have no prior relationship with is harvesting data from my driver’s license via some guy’s personal cell phone).
At no point did Drizly allow me, nor give me the option, to cancel the order first before thrusting Doordash into my life.
Oh, and to delete your Drizly account, you need to give them EVEN MORE personally identifiable information, which is hilarious because that won’t delete whatever personally identifiable information Drizly misappropriated to Doordash, it would seem.
I doubt anything about this company is GDPR compliant. Do yourself a favor: Reach out directly to local liquor stores. They may deliver for you without hustling your personal information all over the Internet.

Bad service
The only reason I’m giving 2 starts is because the customer service representative I spoke to 3 times was super pleasant, otherwise it’d be 1 star. When I placed my order, my driver was 10 minutes away from my location. Within 15 minutes of placing my order it said they were on the way. My driver gradually got farther and farther away from my location. When they were about 25 minute away, they called to say the store didn’t have what I wanted, which was weird considering they said they were on the way with my delivery. I called customer service after 50 minutes of the driver continually getting farther away, and the customer service rep called me back and said my driver was 15 minutes away. 15 minutes later, my driver is still about 20-30 minutes away from my location based on the map. I called the customer rep back and requested my order be cancelled and my money be refunded, as my driver was right down the road from me at the start of this ordeal and now an hour and a half had passed and they were still no where close. Point being, if you can wait an hour and sober up enough to drive to the store yourself, do it because chances are your driver will take just as long if not longer.

Charged me and never delivered my order
Used the app only one time. My order was never delivered to my friend that I ordered it for. I placed my order around 8 am and the app said it was delivered at 11:59 pm. They charged me for my order and charged me for tip for driver who never even delivered the order. If it’s been an hour after your order was placed you can’t cancel it. Or if it’s a gift for someone you can’t cancel it. Even if you never got. I have emailed customer services 5 times and I get the same automated responses stating they are busy and can’t give me an ETA. Even though it’s been 5 days later. If anyone can find a number for customer service could you post it in the review section.
I have emailed Drizly on 5 separate occasions and my response has been the same. A generic automated response that says they are too busy. Four responses stated to email their customer support and which sends you the same automated response. And one mail that allows you pick between Drizly.zendesk and retailer.zendesk which also send you the same automated response that they are too busy and to email customer support. This has taken place over a 7 day period. So who knows if I’ll get a refund or at least my order.
It took about a week but I was refunded my money.

I ordered 2 bottles. When they arrived one was broken and empty. I sent pictures of me actually unpacking it. They did not refund my $45.00 or replace the damaged bottle of whiskey. Absolutely terrible Customer Service. Very unhappy !
