I'm so bummed that DropShots is shutting down. I've been a member for a long time and now they're telling me that all my pics and vids will be gone for good on September 6th. I'm trying to download everything, but it's taking forever (I've only gotten to 2000). And now the site is down and I can't even access it. I only have two weeks left to save my memories and I'm freaking out that they'll be gone forever.

Site closed without me being able to retrieve copies of my videos and pictures. The site has not functioned well enough for me to be able to download my 4000+ pictures from the site. The bulk download option did not work when I requested it, and now the site is down. They offered an 'easy' way to get the files downloaded, but it never worked. Instead, you had to click on each pic/vid to download it individually, and they did not give enough time for me to be able to retrieve all my pictures/videos. I'm missing parts of 2006, and all of 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010. I am a lifetime member, and I've been ripped off.

All my photos and videos of my daughters childhood are GONE! I purchased a lifetime account and used dropshots to store all my photos and videos for the first decade of my ONLY child's life. Literally THOUSANDS of videos and photos POOF, gone! I did not use the site regularly except for when I wanted to travel down memory lane. Imagine my disbelief when everything simply no longer existed. I never once received an email stating the company was going out of business and when I logged on one day it was closed already. PLEASE is there anyway to get my stuff back?!?!?

Still asking for payment but I do not have access to my photos. Today I received an email asking me to update my billing information to prevent my account from being locked. I went to update my account info and saw that they are no longer in business. I have no access to my photos, they are still asking for payment. I have received emails from a Mike S., Product Manager about a download link but the links don't work and I am not able to contact him. I would like access to my photos so I can save them somewhere else if Dropshots is no longer in business.

I need my photos from Drop-shot back. They have photos of all my kids and my father, who is now deceased. I need those photos back. I have all of my photos on there, from the birth of all 3 of my children, the oldest being 16, to my fathers funeral photos. Those photos are nearly two decades of priceless memories. I am aware that they lost a tower, and therefore my photos may not exist anymore, but if there is any chance to get them back I would like to be contacted IMMEDIATELY. We purchased a lifetime membership with Dropshots back in 2005 and uploaded many videos and photos since then. This has been the place where we've counted on these memories to being stored. Videos stopped working, but Dropshots stated it was planning on converting them to a different file type and they'd be back up. We had no idea Dropshots was closing down, and we are desperate to get back these photos and videos we've uploaded to Dropshots over the years.

I purchased a $99 lifetime membership for my photos. It was taken down July 24 with absolutely no notification so that photos could be saved. In 2007 I subscribed for a lifetime membership for photo sharing and photo saving site. I have a lifetime of pictures that were on site to share with family and friend's. I went to site this past week to see that the whole site was taken down and files destroyed. No email or contact was made from company to inform us of this action. Hours were spent uploading these pictures. The company could send multiple emails to sell their duplicate eraser weekly, but they could not send an email to inform us they were shutting down. I would like to at least get the files back!

As with many others, I signed up for a lifetime of photo storage and paid in full. I am now having a great deal of difficulty retrieving my photos. I have been using this site regularly and have 11 years of pictures which I entrusted to be safely stored and now I am finding it impossible to retrieve them and up against a deadline. The company may be out of money, but I am willing to pay to have my photos sent to me either digitally or on some usable media so I can get them back. I think it should be done for free, but given they seem headed for bankruptcy and are breaking their contract with me, I will accept whatever options are available to avoid losing over a decade of photos I entrusted to their safe keeping for my future use.

I have been a dropbox.com "Premium" member on 3 different accounts since 2008. Thousands of family memories and photos are saved on this server. After the dropbox crash ALL of the photographs were lost/corrupted. Upon logging into the site the photos are simply gone. On 2 of my accounts the photos appear to be loading but never load to be visible. Moreover, when I attempt to "select all" and download the error appears: "You files are in process please check email to download later" We are incredibly distraught as all of our newborn photographs are there for our 3 children and all of their childhood memories. This is a travesty.

My account closed with no warning. All photos deleted by Drop Shots! I have been a member of Drop Shots for a number of years. I do not recall how many. When I tried to sign into my account today it said that Drop Shots had closed and all photos and videos had been deleted. What a shock! I had many photos, albums,videos of trips, with my grand children and great grand children in that account.It is unbelievable the company deleted all those memories without giving me,the client a chance to transfer those beautiful memories to another source. Tell me it isn't true! Did they just say that or do they still have the photos. Is there any chance of me getting those photos and videos back from Drop Shots? The company has no integrity what so ever if they do not make good and should pay criminal fines at the very least. Thank You

A few days ago Dropshots.com announced it was going to shut down and we had until July 24th to retrieve our photos and videos stored by them. But when we go to their website, it is already saying it is shutdown and that our photos and videos will be "safely deleted". They did not give us enough advance notice they would close their services, they did not gave us a reasonable amount of time or even tools to recover our precious memories. I can't believe that a company can be so cruel with their loyal customers. Please, help us recover our life memories. This is what this company owe us! Thanks.

You can't close down your site with no way for us to contact you and delete our memories? WTF? This is ridiculous and I'm beyond upset as that was the only way for these images to be seen again. My harddrives were compromised years ago and these were all I had left of my children from [protected]! I'm just beyond sad that this is how I've lost all my images! Like many others, I am very troubled by DropShots dropping their service when I have paid for a lifetime contract. I have been a Dropshots member for over a decade, and I have many irreplaceable photos and videos of my family (both living and now-deceased) stored on the site. After closer inspection, once I discovered that the service is being discontinued, I realize there are some other pictures that are already lost and irretrievable. Aside from my frustration and disappointment that the company has decided to stop offering this service, I am very upset that the lifetime premium membership that I paid for is not being honored. I, like many others, paid a fee for a service that other sites were offering for free, because it included a lifetime guarantee. We paid, not because the service was unique, but because the premium subscription presumably protected us and our cherished memories from exactly what the company is now doing. This is at its core a breach of trust and a breach of contract. I feel like I have been defrauded.

They are all our baby photos & irreplaceable I purchased dropshots premium lifetime plan over a decade ago. It was where we shared our family pics and videos of our children to extended family. These are irreplaceable as we no longer have the backups on old computers. We were never notified of the closure and now unable to retrieve our cloud stored items. This is a breach of contract and I want our property back and a refund. I also tried contacting customer service on 4/26,5/10 and 6/4 on a separate issue and no email was returned. As a premium member I was given direct access to customer service which I never receive for those inquiries. I think that all data should be retrieved and members should be contacted. I read that this company is from another country. International Business is no excuse for breaking an agreement. Please see a screen shot of unanswered emails over 3 months. This is not ok. I want our items returned and a refund for my unused lifetime membership.

I paid this company $99 for a lifetime membership. They are closing, gave only a week's notice, and ended up shutting down 4 days early. I paid this company $99 in late 2006 for a lifetime membership. They offer "photo sharing and storage," as indicated in their logo. I kept a number of photos and videos on this site. Late last week, they announced that they were shutting down on July 24. I'm sure everyone with photos and videos there scrambled to download their items (which had to be done one at a time - bulk downloads are not available). It didn't take long for the site to crash and become inaccessible. I have not be able to access it since Saturday, July 18. Today, July 20, the site indicates that it is already shut down and that content is being deleted - 4 days before scheduled and without providing most people the opportunity to retrieve their photos and videos. I would like a refund of my lifetime membership, since I certainly did not get permanent storage of my photos and videos. I would also like them to be forced to provide customers with their images/videos OR a way to retrieve them. They have indicated on their Facebook page that they are not responding to individual messages, so I have not attempted to contact them with this issue.

I would like to add my complaint to the others regarding the termination of services by Dropshots which was owned by WebMinds,Inc. located in Fort Myers, FL. Dropshots was a web based photo and video storage company founded in 2005. I was a lifetime premium member for over a decade and paid a one time fee up front. I personally had thousands of picture and videos on the site. Given their longevity and popularity I assume they had thousands of customers. I had always been satisfied with the service until spring of 2020 when I couldn't gain access. I sent several emails to customer service as well as to Web Minds with no response. Then in searching online I found further information on their Facebook page from Mike S. who apparently is a WebMinds Marketing Manager. I am not a Facebook member so finding this information was happenstance. Mike S. stated that Dropshots had experienced a major crash that impacted their main and backup storage preventing member access. At one point he stated he understood an email was going to all members. If so I never received it or any other communications from Dropshots or WebMinds. Then Mike S. Facebook messages became more optimistic that partial or full recovery was a potential. I then was able to access my account but there was no content. Later I was able to view some of my content. Then shortly later I was surprised to see on the website and Face Book that the site was closing permanently on Friday, July 24 and all content would be safely erased. I went on the site earlier that week to try and download some of my content and found the site was already closed. As such I lost majority of my content except for some of the more recent content on my PC. In summary my main concerns are the lack of any direct communication with members, lack of customer service response and short notice of site closure. They handled the communication aspect very poorly and did not treat long term customers such as myself with the respect that was warranted. It seems utterly insensitive that on very short notice they destroyed over a decade of irreplaceable family memories captured in photos and videos. This is a reflection not only on Dropshots but also on WebMinds.
