Absolute bait and switch scam artists!
Absolute bait and switch scam artists! Tell you it's free, then when you spend a lot of time going through the process, they hit you with a 79.99$ fee. I as many people say I'm tired whatever. So I hit the submit button, I can't take it back now. Then come to find out my return won't go to my bank account, it goes to theirs so they can take their fees..Then their bank charges another 40.00$ to send you your money! Absolute rip off company. Never use E-file.com, you'll be sorry.

Filed with them last year for free
Filed with them last year for free. This year I used the same 1099s as I did last year and at the END I got a notice that they upgraded me and the cost was $25.99. I called and was told by a very nice person, that they changed their pricing and because I put in 1099's (same 2 as last year) they had to upgrade me. This was on a total of less than $8,000 and less than a $300 refund. They said if I had only put in my SS then it would be free. I'm finding out there is no really "FREE" tax preparations online. Pure BS!

Efile is a seriously corrupt and deliberately inefficient company. I left Turbo Tax and am now sorry for having done that.IT IS NOT FREE and IT IS NOT ACCURATE!I would prefer not to give them 1 STAR

It was pretty easy to file but could not enter my ID number after my last name because the name field on your website does not accept numerical digits. As I am an inmate, the identification is required for any documentation pertaining to my name, therefore the only place I could enter my identification number was in the address field. I used the lock box address as the place to receive my payment. I have not received anything yet and when I check on "Get My Payment" it does not show any status. Hope you can help me with this issue.

It was easy enough to file but as of yet i did not receive my payment. As an inmate I needed to place my ID # but it could not be place after my last name. I put it in the added information box. When I check for status it tells be no information available. check back later. I do not know what to do.
So simple and easy to use. Anyone can use this to file their taxes. Worked great for me with positive results.
E-file was super easy to use. They gave great notifications when they said they would. I definitely would recommend their service.
No update on software for state tax forms (specifically Massachusetts). Outdated system
I was told when I receive my refund that there will be a fee of $25.99 deducted from e-file filing my taxes
I was told when I receive my refund that there will be a fee of $25.99 deducted from e-file filing my taxes. I have not receive my refund and efile deducted the $25.99 fee before I received the refund. I received an email from efile informing me that if the IRS do not send my refund by the 18th that they will automatically take the $25.99 fee. The $25.99 was taken from my bank account. I have not received my refund. I AM VERY UPSET. Efile was misleading. The $25.99 fee was supposed to be deducted from my refund not my bank account beforehand.

First time to use efile
First time to use efile. One new thing for my taxes was rental income and deductions. One area that was really confusing was depreciation. Contacted customer service with very specific questions. The response was not appropriate. It gave generic information off the IRS website. Tried this twice. Customer service are clerks, sending links to IRS site. That was not near adequate. Their estimated taxes due, based on the information provided, was $1000 more than other tax filing websites. Got no answers for that discrepancy. Did not complete the process.

After being offered a free service, was informed that the fee for filing was over $80
After being offered a free service, was informed that the fee for filing was over $80. This is after completing all the work to get the return filed again advertised to be free. Wanting to get my taxes filed before the deadline I accepted and all for not the return was rejected for an error I made. There are other services that provide better error proofing and are actually free and/or lower priced. Wish I had read reviews prior to falling prey to this outfits use of click-bait. I would not recommend their product offerings to anyone! I asked to cancel my account and be refunded from this organization. Overpriced! Deceptive! Raymond D.

I just filed my taxes and I been calling to talk to someone no answer at all
I just filed my taxes and I been calling to talk to someone no answer at all. Then I received 2 emails that say my Federal and State taxes been accepted but then when I call and put my information in it say they waiting for the IRS to accept my taxes. On top of all that the system doesn't let you get a copy of your taxes you have to pay but the other taxes companies I used before I was able to print with not paying and no problem. I also go on my account and it start asking question all over again that I all ready answered. The website is so hard to work and very confusing. I hope this is a real Taxes Company and not a fraud company. I only used this company because someone was talking about it.

Never again am I using this company
Never again am I using this company. The first and last time. Very disappointed and disgusted how they conduct business. These guys double dipped in with their fees. Found them on the IRS website. They charged me $79 and change while the e-filing portion is free. Then they offer me a discount of 50%. Okay, cool. I accept the offer and now I was responsible for half. Not a problem. Whip out my credit card and pay. Done deal, right? Nope! Wrong. I get my refund minus $112.99. Not only did they charge me the first time to get file my taxes e-filed but then they went into my refund and took an additional $112.99. I am furious. I called them and complained. I was promised a refund of $79 and change. I have to see anything and that was over a week ago. Never again.

BIGGEST BUNCH OF CRAP I'VE EVER SEEN!
BIGGEST BUNCH OF CRAP I'VE EVER SEEN! : First of all, it's advertised as "free". After completing all the info for my son's return, there was a $53 charge. I thought ok, I just wanted to get it done. At the time I didn't have his bank routing #, So the next day I tried to continue, but it made me start over from the beginning, and also wanted me to pay again. I did mix up the username and had trouble logging in a couple times. I emailed them to help with the situation, and all I got when they actually did respond is the standard "password & username not correct". I told them I would start the return over if they waved the fee (which I paid), or else refund the payment. To this I received NO response. They can take my $53 and shove it up their s. Too bad I couldn't leave 0 stars.

I give E-File Customer Service an A+ for going the extra mile to solve my problem and get the 20% refund on their charges that I was entitled to
I give E-File Customer Service an A+ for going the extra mile to solve my problem and get the 20% refund on their charges that I was entitled to. E-File was offering a 20% refund off their charge by entering the special code word at checkout. When I went to check out I couldn't get the discount to work. Trying to contact them by phone proved fruitless with a more than expected volume of calls - particularly this year - so I gave up waiting for a customer rep and kissed the $20 Good-bye. I later received a follow-up e-mail regarding the status of my refund. I replied that I was no longer waiting my refund but felt cheated out on th 20% discount. To my surprise someone in E -File Customer Service actually contacted me and ended up sending my 20% refund. I was totaled flabbergasted that this happened. Congrats to the E-File Customer Service Team! J S ***, CT
Been trying to decide where to file taxes because my Turbotax use to be free and now isn't
Been trying to decide where to file taxes because my Turbotax use to be free and now isn't. I just looked into E-File as an alternative to not only Turbotax but also H&R Block because I honestly didn't want to pay to file. Both Turbo and H&R were not only easier to use, but came back with the same tax return for me, again I just didn't want to pay for my taxes but after an hour of attempting to file my taxes with E-file I feel more confused and they are trying to tell me I owe money. For a basic rundown I have 4 dependents and I made under *** this last year. Tell me how I owe 1/3 of my income from the last year with this site but was told I was going to get a return from the other two? At this point I am just going to pay Turbotax or H&R Block to have my taxes done correctly, only take an hour to file at the end of the day and again be user friendly. Not worth the hassle to use E-file.

As far as I know, my federal tax return that I completed on this website is correct
As far as I know, my federal tax return that I completed on this website is correct. My problem is with the preparation of my Massachusetts state return. I was told by the website that I owed $39 which I immediately paid. I discovered later that Massachusetts gives a deduction for a portion of the rent that a resident pays, up to $3000. I would have qualified for the full deduction and, if I had filed correctly, there would have (probably) been a refund, instead of a payment. I had identified myself as a renter earlier in the process, but the website never asked me for any information about what I paid for rent. I sent an email explaining this, and their response had little to nothing to do with the situation, while at the same time explaining something about Minnesota. I live in Massachusetts and explained that on the form and in the email. They give you the option of calling them, but there isn't a toll-free number. So you would have to pay long distance charges to speak with someone. I've sent them another email and am waiting for a response as of today (7/16).

I filed my return on e-file, saved my information for logging back in, etc
I filed my return on e-file, saved my information for logging back in, etc. Eventually I got curious about status, tried to log back in using all of the login data that was saved on my computer, e-file wouldn't accept login, told me to change password, etc, said they would send link to my email. I wasn't exactly sure what email I had used, so I checked every one I've ever had and I never got anything from e-file- not confirmation, not reply, nothing. So I attempted to contact them through every avenue they offered, eventually contacted an agent who siad they had no information about me at all, and to set p a new account. I then COULDN'T set up a new account because they said they already have an account with my SS#- I contacted rep again, and they insist they ha nothing, but it's impossible to set up an account because their website says that THEY DO. Absolutely impossible to resolve issue with them, no way to contact a human by phone, email replies were absolutely unhelpful, Now what do I do? I don't even know if I'm filed. Their phone number just directs you to their email, so it's a circle.

Attempted to file an extension with a payment through this company
Attempted to file an extension with a payment through this company. Sent a payment and waited to see if my extension was accepted by the IRS. Got two emails hours later. First one said my extension was accepted by the IRS. Second email at the same time as the first said my extension was rejected. So I emailed the company in the morning and they said I can change the information and resubmit with having to be charged again. I tried to change my info but their user interface is not very user friendly. So I decided to just send money to the IRS directly. Having that done I figure everything was successful. But, the company's software has the ability to submit your extension twice if you double click on the "submit extension." So the rejection was the company's submitting my extension twice... which shouldn't be possible. Me thinking my extension was rejected, because rejected means rejected and not that they received the extension twice. So in the end I paid the IRS twice which over drafted my account all because of this company online software which needs updating because this should not be possible and if it does they should take responsibility for it. Which of course they did not. They admitted the fault in their software and still refuse to reimburse me. I will not use this company again I will not refer them.

Filing my taxes with e-file.com was great-- until it was time to actually file
Filing my taxes with e-file.com was great-- until it was time to actually file. First, I opted for direct deposit, then E-file.com charged me for my state tax return preparation (ok, cool), but then I went to send off my paperwork and I get an error message saying that my "bank account information is invalid". So I went back and re-entered it and...same thing. I did this a few more times (trying to delete extra spaces and so on and so forth) before realizing it was futile. So I e-mailed e-file.com with a support request and this was their response "Thank you for your email request. We are currently aware of an issue with this section of the program. At this time, we have forwarded your information to our developers for review. Once a resolution has been found to this issue, you will be notified via email. Thank you for your patience during this time. If you have any further questions or require additional assistance, please feel free to contact us again. Thank you,E-File.com Support # 2426 Please visit our help center at https://www.e-file.com/faq/get-support.php Be sure to recommend our site to your family and friends." So this was a KNOWN issue before I attempted filing, but they still charged me AND as of 9 days later, they still have not fixed the issue. I am extremely upset and will NEVER use e-file.com again nor will I ever recommend them to anyone I know.

I tried like 50 times to get into my account, but no luck!
I tried like 50 times to get into my account, but no luck! Now I'm totally locked out and can't even delete my account. The service I got was so unsatisfactory! I'm demanding a refund of $49.95. I called them up, but they were useless. I had to go and dispute this charge with my credit card company.
I used this company to file my taxes before they made it unnecessary
I used this company to file my taxes before they made it unnecessary. They mentioned that since I only had income from employment, I would need to pay fees for filing. I sent them an email to inquire if there was a free alternative. They replied saying there wasn't. Consequently, I paid the fee, but my file got rejected. I sent them another email expressing my dissatisfaction, feeling like I got scammed. It's funny how they promptly responded to my fee inquiry but ignored my complaint. I feel like I wasted nearly $50.
I decided to try e-file.com, LLC for my tax filing needs
I decided to try e-file.com, LLC for my tax filing needs. They took my money right away, but unfortunately, my forms were rejected by the IRS. When I spoke with their customer service, they informed me that I would not be able to proceed with their service. I tried calling them, but there was no phone service available. So, I had to email them to request a refund since I wouldn't be able to use their service. However, they are refusing to provide me with a refund. They are attempting to charge me for something that I cannot utilize. I wonder how many other individuals they have treated in this manner. I am requesting a full refund of $73.99.

On [protected], I filed my taxes with e-file and they asked me to put in my debit card number to pay for it
On [protected], I filed my taxes with e-file and they asked me to put in my debit card number to pay for it. But guess what? After I paid the whopping $57.98, they had the nerve to tell me that I needed to include my 2020 AGI. Like, why couldn't they tell me that before I forked over my hard-earned cash? So, I called their service number *** and they had the audacity to say that since the payment went through, I couldn't get a refund. Can you believe it? I then asked for the home office number, but she had the nerve to say she didn't have one to give me. Seriously, why did they take my money without giving me all the info? I would really appreciate some help with this. Thanks
I filed my 2019 taxes thinking it was the authorized website
I filed my 2019 taxes thinking it was the authorized website. My return was sent on February 26. I emailed them specifically to ask about the status of my funds. They refused to answer my question and instead told me they couldn't provide a status check on someone else's account, which wasn't what I asked. They also charged me $35.00, even though I was told it was free. I agreed to pay anyway. My return amount is $894.96, sent on February 26. I want my money. It was sent supposedly to someone else's account, not my own that I entered. I found that out when I had to verify my identity with them. I won't use them again now that I found the real efile.
