Unable to cancel subscription without calling
Unable to cancel subscription without calling. If you sign up for something online, you should be able to cancel just as easily. This should be illegal.

I canceled my account in April , but received an annual account renewal in April . I never signed back up for this company so I should never have been charged.

You are required to cancel your free trial by calling a phone number instead of doing it online. They have no issue with taking your credit card number or creating your account online, but they require you to jump through hoops to cancel your trial and avoid being charged. This is not for "security" or "privacy" like they claim, otherwise they wouldn't allow you send your credit card details through their website in the first place.
Call all you want, no one answers the phone as you're trying to cancel
Call all you want, no one answers the phone as you're trying to cancel. This service is not worth it at all and their practice of requiring you to call us a scam to auto renew your subscription with no courtesy email. Stay far away.

EMeals requires a credit card to sign up for a free trial, but only allows cancellations over the phone
EMeals requires a credit card to sign up for a free trial, but only allows cancellations over the phone. They charge for 6 months at a time, so if you struggle to call during business hours early in your short free trial, you are charged $60.

No possible way to cancel subscription
No possible way to cancel subscription. It won't let you do it online and says you have to call. The phone numbers are a recorded message and hangs up when you press #1 or #2. So they have made it absolutely impossible to cancel! TOTAL SCAM!
Signed up for a free trial and cancelled over the phone
Signed up for a free trial and cancelled over the phone. Just noticed two months of charges on my credit card from this company even though they show my account was cancelled on their website. Disputes charges with my credit card because. This should be reported as a scam.

A very unethical company
A very unethical company. I did NOT agree to an auto renew and they did this without my permission or knowledge. I've reached out by email but so far they have not replied. It's been about 5 days now. I plan to call their 1 800 number and see if that helps tuesday, since I will be at work for almost 13 hours tomorrow.

Unable to cancel the subscription without calling. If you sign up for something online, you should be able to cancel just as easily. This should be illegal. Emailed multiple times requesting a cancelation before my subscription renewed. These requests were never processed. This is a shady practice where they are relying on you to not find the time to call until after it renews again. I encourage everyone to not do business with a company that chooses to operate this way in 2021 when most any online subscription can be managed online.

I have the same type of complaint
I have the same type of complaint. I only wanted to see what the program was about so joined the trial period. I tried several times to cancel any membership after trial period. They charged my credit care $59.99. I called and attempted to resolve this issue with the company but they claimed I didn't cancel in time and refused to refund my money. A warning to anyone considering trying their free trial; it won't be free and you will not be able to cancel until they charge you. I would not recommend this service to anyone. They are not a reputable company.

While I've not had an issue with the app/service, I got roped into another year because I never got around to cancelling last year (because there isn't an easy way to do so). Any business that allows you to subscribe online should allow you to cancel online, anything else is Shady as heck. Thankfully, when I noticed the charge go through this year I called right away and was told my subscription is cancelled and I'll receive a refund. Time will tell if that actually ends up happening. I have 5 kids, getting time/quiet to make a phone call isn't easy when I'm also working full time.
This service is not worth the money imo
This service is not worth the money imo. The meal plans are very boring and limited. They have a few interesting ideas, but most are for dumb things like flat bread pizzas. Their billing practices really bother me. They don't do monthly subscriptions; you have to pay up front for 3+ mo. You can sign up online easily, but neither the free trial nor the actual subscription can be canceled online. You can't email them, use their online chat, or leave a voicemail. You have to call during their business hours. They clearly make their money off of people who are too busy to call and cancel. Very shady business practices imo.
Ridiculous!
Ridiculous! I canceled my subscription for during the trial period two years ago. I looked at my bank statement this past Friday and saw a charge for 59.99. I called and inquired why I was being charged that this was canceled more than a year ago. I was told there were no notes about me canceling and my money would not be refunded because I was outside of some 14 day return window, How was I to know that when I thought this was canceled two years ago? The unfriendly agents refused to refund my money. I have not used this service since I did the trial. Looking back at theses other reviews it definitely seems they have found a way to scam customers. If you have this many complaints about the same issue, it seems it would be time to review your practices. Definitely not customer friendly. Furthermore, on the web it still lists the ability to cancel your trial subscription online - not saying anything about having to call which is what I did. I snapped a pic of just that. I want a refund.

Charging credit card
This service was canceled but my credit card was charged I want a refund I tried calling the customer service number, but it keeps telling me that was an invalid entry when I try to get support through the phone number. The charge was for 99.98 on my Verizon Visa card the charge was on 12/28/2023. I was in the hospital for almost 2 months and have just now gone over my credit card statements when I discovered this charge. I checked the BBB and the have numerous complaints about the same issues. I have not used this service I do not need this service and I want a refund.
Claimed loss: 99.98
Desired outcome: Refund

Trying to cancel trial
Literally just signed up for the trial yesterday and I’m not a fan of the eMeals concept . I could just log into my FREE Pinterest account and pick out meals for the week. So I Have been calling the toll free line since 7 am and it is now 4pm…. Same message of no one is available. This mess is a straight SCAM. All I wanna do is cancel before they try and charge me for something I’m not using. I will tell anyone who will listen NEVER sign up for this hot mess! Funny enough I was able to change my payment info to card I card I no longer use and is empty, so they gone try and take payment and it’ll keep declining.
Desired outcome: Cancel membership
Cancellation is a nightmare
I ga e called multiple times attempting to cancel my trial period. Everytime I call it says no agents are available and please call back at another time. Unable to cancel. Do not want to be charged. Will never sign up for this again. I have also attempted to contact via email with no response and there is no other way to cancel other than calling the number which it will never connect me to the cancellation system or a person.
Desired outcome: Cancel and do not charge my card for the subscription. If it is charged before this is resolved, refund immediately

Unable to cancel eMeals is by far the most frustrating subscription service I've ever had to deal with
Unable to cancel eMeals is by far the most frustrating subscription service I've ever had to deal with. After attempting to cancel last year after realizing that the value DOES NOT justify the cost, I was unable to do so because of their incredibly inflexible policy. The fact that prorated refunds are not offered is ridiculous. Now, I see a charge for another year renewal without any notification that my renewal was upcoming. EVERY other service on the planet reminds you of your upcoming renewal. I had already emailed about canceling within the last month and tried to call multiple times with no avail. I just want my $59.99 refunded and my account cancelled FOR GOOD. I will not recommend eMeals to anyone because of this headache when there are plenty of other services out there that offer the same thing.

I signed up for a free trial and immediately decided that I would like to cancel. Unfortunately, I cannot reach a representative and this company does not allow online cancellations. I do not want my card to be charged after the free trial expires.
I just cancelled my subscription approximately two months into the annual subscription service. I have not logged into my account since it auto-renewed in December and after cancelling, will not be able to use the service for the majority of the subscription. The company has refused to pro-rate the cancelled subscription. Because this is an online service, the refusal to pro-rate cancelled annual subscriptions is out of step with virtually every other business I have worked with. Very dishonest business practice.
This company is deceptive
This company is deceptive. I bought the service on *** and they auto renew. The app is horrible. They would not refund me the $72.98 I bought the service on ***. The app and service is horrible. It did not do what it was advertised. I figured I will just waste the $49.99 that I purchased on ***. I never use the app again. Then, all the sudden, I got a charge for $72.98. I just gave birth and was not able to check my account until now and they would not refund me. I spoke with a representative, supervisor, and manager. The manager, ***, told me that if I send an email, I would get upper management who will handle my complaint. This was a lie as she was the one answering my email. Very disappointed in the deceptive practice of this company. I want a full refund effective immediately.

Emeals does not allow customers to cancel online. They require you to call in to a customer service team with limited hours, and no voice recording machine forcing me to take time out of my busy weekdays to call in. Ridiculous, an absolute scam and they should be taken to court. If I can sign up online, I should be able to cancel online.
Apparently I made purchases in September, but now the only other time I got charged is the end of December. I have not received an email confirming a purchase beyond my PayPal. I can't access information about my address or any other contact information, nor remove my card. This website is entirely sketchy. They don't even let you cancle without calling in on a business day. I want a refund for my money lost. I have not received any food and don't honestly see a way to order food. I put a pay pal stop on this but I can't remove my card info and I have apparently made payments to recieve nothing. I can't even change my address or remove my card info from the site.
I have the same issue as everyone else. I called two times before the "free trial" ended and was on hold for more than 45 min each time. Why would a legit company allow you to subscribe to a service online but not allow you to cancel by any other means but phone, which is the worst possible way to try contracting a company nowadays? They seem to have the same canned response. "OUR records show you never called." Ridiculous! I want my $40 back period. If I need to file a complaint with my bank I will but this is outrageous.
I was charged for a service I did not want or use
I signed up for a 14 day trial for emeals.com in which I was supposed to be charged for the service after 14 days
I signed up for a 14 day trial for emeals.com in which I was supposed to be charged for the service after 14 days. They make it difficult to cancel their service by calling them and using the automated cancellation function which for some reason only works during business days/hours. So I do that, and use my personal phone with the number I registered when signing up. They didn't ask for any additional information for cancelling just to confirm I wanted to cancel, and I did. But more than a month after the 14 day trial, the 14th day being when I should've been charged if I didn't cancel, they randomly charge me $99.98. This is not a mistake on my part, I did everything correctly to cancel the subscription and they charged me unlawfully; hoping I wouldnt notice. You can see in the email that I signed up on July 30. They need to be investigated.

I was starting a free trial with e-meals but then in the process of subscribing, there was an error and the system charged me the full year of subscription. I want my money back. I was very interested in the trial but I can even trial it because it charge me in the first day.
I had initially signed up for service from this business and paid the fee. I have since tried a number of times to cancel the service to no response. I have contacted them via their website and requested to stop being charged to no response for 3+ months. There is no other way to contact the business I can see. I have been charged $35 so far for services I do not want and I'm not able to stop future withdrawals.
I signed up for the free trial as the site looked like it would be useful. I was wrong, tried it out for two days before deciding that it was not for me, so I canceled a day later. I was charged on 9/1 for *** which wasn't even close to the price I had acknowledged upon signing up for the free trial. I have called numerous times since to which calls have gone unanswered. I have emailed to which they directed me back to calling. I went to my credit card company and they are having difficulties with working with this company as well. This is a horrible business. I have wasted enough time; I want my money back as I should have never been charged in the first place.
Hello, I would like to cancel my membership, but after repeated attempts to can in, I have tried calling multiple times, but I've been disconnected almost every time after waiting in the queue for over an hour. The only time I talked to customer service representative they told me their system was down and they would be unable to cancel at this time. Anytime I leave a callback number I get disconnected.

Unauthorized charge to card, dishonest representation of membership terms in advertising Signed up for this app on a trial basis due to a social media ad which advertised a risk-free trial. After trial period, found that my credit card has been charged without my authorization, without any reminders, and without notification for an amount I never approved or saw during the sign-up process - would not have completed process if I had known. Unable to cancel membership because they have no chat, no email, and no one is answering their customer service line. Have tried this multiple times. The "cancel my subscription" link on the website takes you to a page that says "sorry, we can't cancel your subscription, please call us." They're only open a narrow window on a different time zone and half the time it just stays on hold forever. Very dishonest business practices.

I was curious to see what emeals had to offer so I signed up for the free trial. I browsed around the recipes and was not impressed so I looked for the businesses contact information so that I may cancel. They don't provide you with any other form of contact information other than a telephone number. So I try to contact them using the number provided and each and every single time there is no answer or means to leave a message. My bank account then gets changed $99.98 for this service that I don't even want. This is very bad business in my opinion.
The Emeals company has made it virtually impossible to get in touch with them for cancellations. You are forced to call to cancel and yet the number is an automated system. The charge is still pending on my account and with other reviews of having to do this multiple times I am very concerned about the cancellation and refund going through.
I subscribed to email over a year ago and used it once and have tried to cancel it since then to no avail. I can never get through on the phone. It is ridiculous that I can order it online yet need to cancel over the phone via a person. The worst is even though I have been charged at least twice I can never get it to function. I would really like to cancel and would love a refund
Had trial subscription through iTunes but canceled and was charged anyways
Had trial subscription through iTunes but canceled and was charged anyways. Was told I was not charged and account was canceled and to dispute with bank. I did this last year and the dispute was successful. I just got a brand new bank card due to unrelated fraudulent activity and the first transaction is from emeals. Unbelievable that they would even have access to that brand new card that wasn't even active yet! I want my money back! This company is fraudulent and has preyed on me twice now. Absolutely disgusted and the customer service was no help since they "don't have my subscription on file" they can't help me. It's not an iTunes issue either as I have gone through all alternative routes and did this same stuff last year. Ended up Having to dispute it with my bank. Will now need another new card and my account is locked until the dispute is resolved. Which in the past took months. Proof of fraudulent charges attached.

Unauthorized charge card dishonest representation of membership terms in advertising Signed up for this app on trial basis. Never answer phone Unauthorized charge to my card, dishonest representation of membership terms in advertising. I Signed up for this app on a trial basis because of ad which advertised a risk-free trial. After trial period, found that my credit card has been charged without my authorization, without any reminders, and without notification for an amount I never approved or saw during the sign-up process - would not have completed process if I had known. Unable to cancel subscription or delete my account, but they keep billing me for it
Unable to cancel subscription or delete my account, but they keep billing me for it. They make it extremely difficult to cancel the subscriptions. The website is terrible, and there are barely any options. The only thing you can even do is change your meal plan, but there's no way to cancel it online. I tried to cancel via phone but the number does not work. I hope they do not try to bill me again today as one of the subscriptions says it renews today. I did not even know in the first place that they were charging me for subscriptions, because I tried to cancel before my trial period ended. They have been billing me every three months for a year now, and I had no idea. Every time, I see a charge of 39.98! I'm upset to say the least. I have never used their meal ideas and kept getting charged. I'm extremely dissatisfied. I would like a refund on my meal subscriptions (that I never wanted in the first place) and for them to be canceled completely and my account deleted.

I need to cancel my account, but am unable to do so because my disability makes me unable to make phone calls, which is the only option
I need to cancel my account, but am unable to do so because my disability makes me unable to make phone calls, which is the only option. I've never used this service but have been subscribed for over a year due to being literally unable to cancel my account. More than once in lean times, the sudden charge drained my meager finances or put me into the red, resulting in being late on bills/unable to buy groceries. It is only due to my disability that I can't make phone calls and I should not have to explain personal health problems via email or even on this website in order to make this company understand that it is DISCRIMINATORY to not allow a simple email request or "Cancel Account" button on their website. Thousands of websites have this option. It is frankly ableist to deny this simple option, and I suspect the inability to request cancelation results in easy money like mine. I have never had this problem with any other subscription service or online membership, ever.

My dispute dates back to July
My dispute dates back to July . Emeals has withdrawn $39.98 from my PayPal account, without my consent, five times dating back to July 2 and most recently on July 2. They withdrew on July 2 & April 2, then again on Jan. 1, Oct. 2 & July 2, totaling $199.90 taken without my consent. Emeals advertised, a risk free 14-day free trial, I did try them, solely for this reason. However, within the first use of attempt at trying the service I knew it would not work for me. I canceled my membership within the first 24 hours of establishing my membership. I cannot log onto their website as I do not have an account with them, I have no account # or username that I know of to reference, yet they have been taking money from me for a year. There is no direct contact info only a "help ticket" form that you can submit. I have submitted said form and requested they refund me all $199.90 and to have some form of communication to confirm, they have not done this.

Company is nearly impossible to cancel with
Company is nearly impossible to cancel with. I was charged because their only way to cancel was not working I tried for a week and a half to cancel by phone as are their requirements. I am at work every day during their hours and do not get scheduled breaks. I stayed on hold until I got a call to take care of a patient every time. I tried numerous times. I never spoke to a person. As to their claim that you can leave a call back number or cancel numerically by phone, that is false. Never on any of my calls was I offered either of those options. I called both phone numbers listed. As a last resort, I tried sending a message to cancel my trial subscription and let them know of my issues I was having trying to call. I wanted to let them know I did indeed want to cancel and had been trying for plenty of time. I was still charged the yearly fee. I feel this is unfair. I would like my subscription cancelled finally, my account removed, and refund issued for the yearly subscription please!

Unable to cancel and still billed I started free trial on 11/19 and have been trying to cancel it since 11/30, well within their policies
Unable to cancel and still billed I started free trial on 11/19 and have been trying to cancel it since 11/30, well within their policies. However, I have not been able to actually get thru to a person so I can cancel. I have made several attempts and on 12/1 contacted them through their website "contact" link. I have only gotten an automated reply requesting that I look on the website to find the answer to my question. That same email states the following: "To request cancellation please view the member area on our website to manage your subscriptions or call us at [protected]." Which I find a bit misleading and confusing, as you are not able to request cancellation on website in member area but that is given as if it is a viable option. I was billed $39.98 on 12/4 and still have not been able to cancel subscription. I have not used the service beyond looking it over during the free trial period (and that was minimal). I have also tried to find a way to delete my account and have not been able to find an option to do so. This seems like a common and extremely shady business practice!

My account was charged $99.99 without any renewal reminder and company failed to respond to cancellation and refund request
My account was charged $99.99 without any renewal reminder and company failed to respond to cancellation and refund request. I did not receive any renewal reminder for the service that I had signed up for over a year ago. I had not used the app for months prior to renewal and have not used it since. Within days, while the $99.99 payment was still PENDING on my bank account, I contacted eMeals directly through their online support form to request a refund and cancellation. I figured it was the proper way to handle this situation, rather than having my bank dispute it for me. They failed to respond to my request all together. I proceeded to dispute the transaction through my bank. Today, I learned the request was denied (by my bank). This issue has been going on for almost 3 months and I still do not know if they processed my cancellation request. This business practice is shady and I can't help but think they're hoping people don't PERSISTENTLY ATTEMPT to cancel their membership. Truly shameful. I want a refund for services not used. There is no way to even get a hold of them . I have sent THREE support tickets to them to date (2 were sent in today, one including my cell phone where they can reach me.)

I signed up for E-Meals YEARS ago
I signed up for E-Meals YEARS ago. It cost $99 annually. I have not used the service in years. I was digging through credit card statements recently and discovered an April 1, 2022 charge for $99. I was surprised since I have not been to the site, logged in, or received any emails from them in years. I started an online chat to request a refund. I was told that it was their policy not to do refunds and that I would have access to the service until it renewed the following year. While it is true that I did sign up for their service years ago, and also true that I have not been closely monitoring my subscriptions well enough to catch the fact that they have been continuing to charge me, I am very frustrated that they would not give me a refund for the renewal charge that just went through. I think all of my various subscriptions send me an email notification before the subscriptions renews which gives me the option to decide whether or not to continue the service. It seems deceptive for them to never email me and keep charging me year after year when I do not log in or download their menus. And at the very least, when I finally catch on, not to credit me back the charge when they know I don't use their service.

cancelled this service well over a year ago but it renewed with out permission I know that I cancelled this service over a year ago and was surprised to see the bill on my credit card. I went on line and emailed them in the "Help" section that I cancelled this and needed a refund on my account and to not auto renew again. I noticed there website made it extremely difficult to cancel. In fact the phone # is listed on my credit card bill so I called to explain. I was surprised that the person wanted to know" what date I cancelled" What phone # I used and if they "find" a record then they will look into it. This is very suspicious! She noted they could not track my call because they "got a new phone system", but would not prorate my service either. Its December 5th and I see the charge from 10 26. She said, you only have 14 days to cancel after that I can not cancel. A billing cycle is 30 days. Again, very suspicious practice. this company is a shame! I am going to call my credit card company and dispute this. When I came online to Complaintsboard.com...I see the exact same complaint. What kind of company wants your money when you no longer want or need their service. Even when I offered to pro rate they were in no way customer service focused rather putting me in a position to "prove" that I called and cancelled. I plan to share my experience to warn people about this company and their unethical practices.

after their billing error in 2018 emeals failed to process my requested subscription cancellation
after their billing error in 2018 emeals failed to process my requested subscription cancellation. They renewed 12 and won't refund in 2018 I started a subscription to emeals. They overcharged for the initial subscription and after a lot of effort on my part they refunded the over-billed amount. They were also having a lot of issues with their Android and iOS apps that was taking A LOT of my time to try and resolve. Shortly after that I called and requested the account to be cancelled as I had no interest in a company that starts a relationship with over-billing, and started business without having completed proper use case testing on their apps to ensure a positive UX. It was assumed they fulfilled their commitment to cancel. Then in December they billed for renewal. I didn't realize that until mid-January and I emailed emeals asking them to cancel the account and provide a refund. They replied that all cancellations must be done over the phone. That's clearly not a customer friendly process and doesn't sit well with me since it seems to only be required to favor emeals and their revenue - which immediately made me think of the initial billing issue in 2018. Because I have no time during the business day to call and wait on hold for companies, on February 4, I asked my husband to call and cancel the subscription and request the refund. He first spoke to *** who was more than less pleasant but a typical customer service rep citing policy, "usual practices", and who said we are 49 days past the cancel/refund period. My husband argued that had they properly handled the cancellation request in 2018 there would be no refund to request. *** began arguing there was no record of a call from my husband's number and she was very confident emeals' call tracking software is infallible.I noted it was irrelevant but asked why emeals requires a call to cancel when an email is so much more convenient. She could only say it's "our policy", which is never helpful to a customer. If you don;t know why a policy is in place then ask, don't tell customers, "because it's policy". I asked to be transferred to a supervisor to discuss. As is typical with most customer service reps she said, "I'll transfer you but they're going to tell you the same thing". After a lengthy hold, during which I assumed the supervisor was reviewing notes, *** (sp?) came on the line, introduced herself, and said, "How can I help you?". I asked if the last rep had not shared the issue, the reason for my call. Reagan said she did, and that she had reviewed the account. So again, as is typical for customer service reps, *** asks how she can help when she knows the issue and should have started by saying she'd reviewed the account, and restated my issues/concerns. She more than less repeated what *** had said. I began to ask her why the policy is that a call is required to cancel but she clearly is not empowered by emeals to make decisions outside of policy, so I decided she probably wouldn't know why the policy existed. I asked for her supervisor. As with ***, *** said, "she's just going to tell you the same thing". I was then transferred to *** (Manager) who came on the line, introduced herself, and said, "How can I help you?". AGAIN, I asked, "Did the last rep not share the issues and why I'm calling?". *** said she did and I asked, "why then would ask how you can help?". *** kind of chuckled and said something to ends of, "I guess we just say that." No, WE don't. I've had customer facing roles most of my life and have NEVER had a disgruntled customer call transferred to me, or called them back, without knowing the details and starting the conversation with, "I understand restate what I understand and what you want is restate the customer's goal. *** had no intent to help, but did know why the "must call to cancel policy existed" - so emeals can get feedback. I argued that could easily be done via an internet form, email, etc...it did not require a call. She agreed but said, "it's our process".
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.

No possible way to cancel subscription. It won't let you do it online and says you have to call. The phone numbers are a recorded message and hangs up when you press #1 or #2. So they have made it absolutely impossible to cancel! TOTAL SCAM!
