Eastern Visayas Regional Medical Center not providing complete information and breach of confidentiality

Good day,

I was admitted in EVRMC and ws diagnosed having HIV. In my admission, I would like to complain about how the doctor delivered and the sensitivity of the information about my diagnoses.

Before I was tested, I talked to a nurse for counseling and she deliberately mentioned about confidentiality about the test and result. She assured me that the only people that will know those information are the nurse that I was talking to, the attending physicia, and the medtech that will perform the test. However, the nurses in the ward was able to get hold on the information. What's is worse is that when the doctor informed us about the result, there were strangers present inside the room where I was informed. I was put in a 2 bed room and the other bed is occupied by another patient which has a family member with him. It was very an uncomfortable situation for having a very sensitive information. That's a clear breach of the confidentiality from the doctor and staff nurse.

Next is the lack of information provided in obtaining the proper treatment for the disease. We were told by the nurses' station that we have to go back after 10 days after the results has been confirm. We went back in February 14, 2020 to the department that handle the treatment for this disease and was told that we need to submit an updated laboratory test to be enrolled in the treatment.

It was a hassle for us since we were not fully informed of the matter from the moment we got discharged and asked if there is anything else that we need to bring to this said department.

It is understandable that we don't have any other choice but to comply since we are the one in need but as the patient, I am back experiencing the symptoms of my sickness which I am very worried about until I get the proper treatment just because the information given to us is incomplete and both the nurses' station and the department that handles my disease is not coordinated in their information.

Eastern Visayas Regional Medical Center Repair of telephone line; no dial tone; no incoming and outgoing calls

Incident happened about a month ago; 2nd week of October when the electric post near our ward in the hospital had trouble and our tephone line # [protected] was affected. telephone line; no dial tone; no incomin and outgoing calls. It is located at Eastern Visayas REgional Medical Center Orthopedic Ward Nurse's station. We need it be repaired ASAP as we had difficulty in our communication/ referrals and our patient services is very much affected.
