WCCF sent a guy to fix my washin' machine
WCCF sent a guy to fix my washin' machine. He said it needed 220 electric, not 110. I gave him $65 in cash and he left. I called an electrician and he said it was already wired for 220 and I just needed a new breaker. Easy fix. Then WCCF started sendin' me emails and bills. I called and emailed 'em back sayin' I already paid. But then they sent me a bill for fixin' my dishwasher. I ain't never used it 'cause I like washin' by hand. Now they want me to pay $65 plus $35 late fee. I think they should give me my money back 'cause their guy didn't know what he was doin'. And their accountin' department ain't much better.
I had a dude come over to check out my fridge/freezer
I had a dude come over to check out my fridge/freezer. He showed up on time but he was all sick and kept sniffling and coughing without covering his mouth. He even coughed inside my freezer! I told him to stop but he got all offended and kept going. His hands were dirty too. He said the motor was busted and it would cost $300 to fix it. I said no thanks and just paid the $55 fee. He tried to lower it to $250 but I wasn't having it. I called West Coast Chief to complain but the manager just made excuses for the sick dude. It was crazy, especially with the virus going around. Can't believe it.
I'm a 32 year old vet in property management
I'm a 32 year old vet in property management. Called for Dishwasher fix. Tech came in and did the repairs. I got a bill of $195 and paid it. 3 days later, tenant calls and said same problem with Dishwasher. Tech comes back and said I need to replace the Control board. $279 for the work since it's under warranty from the first work. 3 days later Dishwasher is back to where it was. They offered to come in and look at it, but tenant refused since she thinks they don't know what they are doing. I worked with this company for a long time, but I don't like the decision they make with repairs. Tech tells tenants better to replace it after billing for nearly $500 which is the price of a new machine. Manager calls explaining to me, but I don't agree with their biz behavior. Will not use them, nor I recommend any management company to waste their time and money. This company was good 20 years ago, but it's not the same anymore.
These guys are bad news!
These guys are bad news! My home warranty company sent them to fix my air conditioner. They came out last year to fix it. The guy looked at my AC and said that the fan and motor was broken and he needed to get it approved by the warranty company and buy the parts. He came back the following week to fix it. When he was done, he said that I needed at least 3 pounds of Freon and that it costs $60 per pound, but the insurance will only pay $10 per pound and that I would have to pay the difference. I said okay and stayed to watch what he was doing. I decided to video the Freon recharge and he got mad and demanded that I turn off the video. I refused to turn it off, so he stormed off and left.
When I called someone else out to recharge the Freon, he said it doesn't need it. In fact, my A/C will never need it unless there's a leak.
I'm mad because he scammed me for $300 last year, and almost scammed me for another $150 this year!
I picked this company from a list given by Burbank Water and Power Replace Before it Breaks Rebate Program
I picked this company from a list given by Burbank Water and Power Replace Before it Breaks Rebate Program. I called 4 different guys on the list to get estimates. This is the 3 company who gave me an estimate. I was NEVER told that there would be a $75 service fee by West Coast Chief Repair (none of the other companies charged a fee for an estimate). The technician who came (who by the way did not even test the HVAC unit like the other companies) hands me a bill for a $75 service charge. I called and spoke to Andrew who said his manager said they don't even participate in the program. I then said I was never told there would be a fee to provide me an estimate or I would have not agreed. He put me on hold again to talk to his manager, and came on saying they charge this fee for the program as well. I refused to pay and he threatened to take me to collections! Wow... The technician who came was polite and courteous, but also was not aware of the replace before it breaks program. There was a bit of a language barrier, but from he told me here was here to give an estimate on replacing my HVAC. The person I spoke over a month ago knew of the program and told me there was a hold (about a month ago) on the program by the city, and would call me to schedule a visit, but DID NOT say there was a $75 fee. When they called 2 days ago to schedule, now that the program was reopened, again, they DID NOT advise of the $75 fee. By the way, your website says "free estimates". I also added provided this review on Yelp.
Don't use West Coast Chief Repair, also known as Chief Appliance
Don't use West Coast Chief Repair, also known as Chief Appliance. If your Home Warranty company is booking them for a repair, you can say no and ask for another company. Our air conditioner stopped working in September . We paid $1465, and the Home Warranty company paid around $5000 for a new system to be installed. In 2020, we noticed water marks on the ceiling in the guest room, but we didn't think it was coming from the air conditioner. We thought we caused it by spraying water on a wasp nest outside the house. We waited until we were ready to remodel to do anything about it. During the remodel, our contractor found out that the condensation tube was not installed correctly and was leaking. When we called West Coast Chief Repair, Sean Zovk said there was only a 90-day warranty, and since it passed *** by the city, it must have been fine. He said they could send someone to look at it for $75, and then we would have to pay for the repair. They wouldn't pay for the ceiling that we had to replace. Ashley later waived the $75 fee, but it still had the same result. Our contractor fixed the problem in five minutes, but we had to pay to replace the ceiling. So, my warning to you is to ask about warranties and inspect the work yourself. There was so much insulation in the ceiling that the water marks didn't show up until after the warranty period was over. A 90-day warranty is not long enough for an expensive repair like replacing an air conditioner.

On 9/14, the dude who manages my apartment sent West Coast Chief Repair to fix my AC
On 9/14, the dude who manages my apartment sent West Coast Chief Repair to fix my AC. The guy who came to fix it took off some ceiling tiles and then went up to the roof with a green tank. When he came back, he had some parts in his hands. I left him alone for about 5 minutes to do his thing. When I came back, he was in a hurry to put the ceiling tiles back. He set the AC to *** and left. Later, I accidentally moved the temperature gauge while cleaning the control panel. The repair dude came back and asked if I moved it. I said sorry and he tried to put it back to 60°, but I wanted it on *** and on auto (he had it on ON). I went to sleep for 4-5 hours and woke up feeling sick with a sore nose, throat, and chest pressure/whizzing. I turned off the AC and opened all the windows.
They charge a made-up fee that insurance won't cover, so you gotta pay extra if they don't do the job
They charge a made-up fee that insurance won't cover, so you gotta pay extra if they don't do the job. I hired WCCR to fix my Viking fridge, but they had bad customer service, lied about what needed fixing, and hung up on me. Plus, they charged a fake "coil cleaning" fee that's the same price for every repair, even if it doesn't involve the coils. They know insurance won't pay it, so you gotta pay out of pocket or they won't fix it. But they didn't even clean the coils on my fridge, they just fixed the motherboard. They do this to everyone, and won't fix it unless you pay the fake fee.
I called these guys to check my furnace cuz it wasn't heating up
I called these guys to check my furnace cuz it wasn't heating up. A dude came over to check it out and said he could fix it. He left the unit on and said he'd send an estimate by email. But the heater was still blowing cold air and wouldn't turn off, even when I tried to shut it down. I called the company to report it and the dude came back, went to the attic, and turned it off. A couple days later, it was hot and we needed to turn on the AC, but it wouldn't turn on. I called the company again and the dude came back and said he disconnected the power cuz the furnace wouldn't stop running. The estimate was expensive and they said they needed to replace some parts. I talked to Sean, the manager, and told him the problem was with the furnace, not the AC. He said I had to approve the estimate first. I called another company for a second opinion and they found out the previous technician messed with it and ended up burning up the circuit board. All the parts they said needed replacing were actually in good condition. I contacted Sean several times about this and asked for a refund, but he only wants to give me $75 for the checkup. I think they should take responsibility for the damage their technician caused. I sent Sean the report from the other company and the invoice, but he's not being helpful.
