Ebookers.com Review: Lack of Customer Support and Flexibility
I recently had an experience with ebookers.com that left me feeling frustrated and disappointed. At first, I was drawn to the site because of the seemingly good prices and positive reviews from other customers. However, when I needed to reschedule my trip due to illness, I quickly realized that ebookers was not the helpful and reliable company I had hoped for.
The biggest issue I encountered was the lack of customer support. I tried to contact ebookers via email, but was unable to find an email address anywhere on their site. The only option was to call their customer service line, which ended up being quite expensive. When I finally got through to a representative, I was given conflicting information about whether or not I could reschedule my trip. Each time I called, I was told something different, which made it difficult to know what to believe.
In the end, I was told that I could reschedule my flight, but that I could not change the location. This was a problem for me, as I needed to go to a different city due to my illness. When I asked for the official terms and conditions that stated I could not change the location, ebookers was unable to provide me with anything in writing. This made me feel like I couldn't trust what they were telling me.
Overall, I would advise others to use ebookers.com only for browsing locations and hotels, and then book everything separately. This will give you more flexibility in case you need to make changes to your plans, and you won't have to rely on ebookers for customer support. While ebookers may work well if you don't need to interact with them, there is a big risk involved if something goes wrong. You could end up losing all the money you saved by booking through them in the first place. It's a cheat in their business model that's not worth the risk.
Ebookers.com Review: Glitchy Website and Unhelpful Customer Service
I recently had an experience with ebookers.com when I tried to book a ticket to India. I was in a bit of a rush and needed a ticket for the next day, so I was happy to see that the price on this website was cheap. I filled out the necessary forms and made sure to opt out of any insurance options. I then entered my debit card details and clicked on the 'Book' button, but to my dismay, the screen went blank. I tried refreshing the page, but nothing seemed to work.
I was supposed to be taken to a secure page after entering my debit card details, but instead, I was redirected to a blank screen. I wasn't sure if my seat had been booked or not, as I had given them my card details, but I didn't receive a confirmation email. I waited for a few minutes, but still no confirmation.
I decided to call customer service to check on the status of my booking. However, I had to wait in a queue for at least half an hour, even though I was supposedly only second in line. When I finally spoke to a customer service representative, I had to wait for another half an hour. I'm not sure what they were checking, but they asked me to call back after an hour.
At this point, I was pretty frustrated. I checked my account for any transactions, but there was no withdrawal made. I called back an hour later, only to be told that no booking had been made.
I was relieved that I hadn't been charged, but my relief was short-lived. Later that afternoon, I received a notification that a company called e-bookers had withdrawn 698.37?. This was the exact price of the ticket that I had supposedly not booked that morning.
I was furious and called customer service right away. How could they withdraw the money if I hadn't even booked a seat? I also hadn't received a confirmation email, despite constantly checking my inbox. I demanded that they cancel my 'booking' and was charged a 25? cancellation fee.
Overall, my experience with ebookers.com was not a good one. The website was glitchy, and the customer service was slow and unhelpful. I would not recommend this website to anyone looking to book a flight.
Ebookers Car Rental Nightmare: Overcharged and Misled, No Refund Received
I gotta say, my experience with ebookers was a total disaster. I rented a car through them and it was a complete nightmare. First off, when I went to pick up the car, they charged me an extra ?70 for a one way drop off, even though I had proof that it was only supposed to be ?30. They refused to honor the price on the printed document and told me to claim the money back from ebookers. It was a total hassle and waste of time.
To make matters worse, when we finally got the car, the "service light" was on. One of the agents checked it out and told us that it had been serviced but the light had not been reset. It was just one thing after another.
Then, when we tried to return the car to East Midlands Airport, there was no sign of an Easirent office, even though it was clearly stated on the rental agreement. We were in a rush to catch our flight and there was snow on the ground, which only added to the stress. After making several phone calls, we finally got directions to their office at a service station by the M1. It was a total nightmare.
I reached out to ebookers to request a refund for the extra ?70 I was charged and to ask them to correct the details on their rental agreement so that others wouldn't have to go through the same hassle. But despite three promises that the money would be in my account within 7 days, I haven't received a single penny back.
Honestly, I would not recommend using ebookers. The whole experience was a complete disaster and I wouldn't wish it on anyone.
Ebookers' Dishonesty and Frustration: My Experience with a Cancelled Flight and Refund Request
I recently had an experience with Ebookers that left me feeling frustrated and disappointed. I had booked a flight to Austria for a ski trip in early March, but two weeks later I discovered that due to Covid19, Austria had closed all ski slopes and tourist accommodations, and was refusing landing rights for flights from the UK. Despite this, Ebookers never informed me of any flight cancellation.
Trying to get in touch with Ebookers via their Chat system was impossible, as it seemed to be an automated system. I spent hours on hold on the phone and sent multiple emails, but never received a direct answer. When I finally did get through to someone, I was told that only a voucher was on offer and that the airline was enforcing this. However, I knew that as the service, my flight, was not going ahead, I was entitled to a full refund. I phoned the airline, BA, myself and they confirmed that a full refund was my entitlement, regardless of whether the flight was booked directly through the airline or via an intermediary like Ebookers.
Even on Ebookers' recorded phone message, they stated that airlines were only giving vouchers, not refunds, and that their hands were tied. The message even prompted me to press 1 to cancel my flight, which was already cancelled, and would have only resulted in a voucher, not a refund. This felt very dishonest to me.
It took more time on hold on the phone to Ebookers, but eventually, after I persisted, I got an agreement to a refund, which I received some 10 days later. It was a frustrating experience, and it left me feeling like I couldn't trust Ebookers or any of their affiliated companies, like Expedia, Booking.com, Priceline, Trivago, Travelocity, and Hotels.com.
In the future, I plan to book directly with airlines and accommodations to avoid any similar issues. While Ebookers may have eventually given me my entitled refund, the process was far from easy and left me feeling like I had to fight for what was rightfully mine.
Ebookers Review: Terrible Customer Service and Incompetent Staff
Ebookers, let me tell you, you have a lot of work to do. I have never experienced such terrible customer service in my life. I am beyond disappointed with the way my situation was handled. I had a name change problem and the service staff were completely incompetent. They gave me template answers and were of no help whatsoever. I eventually gave up on trying to resolve my issue.
To begin with, they wanted to charge me 10 pounds to add my Chinese name to my ticket. I understand that Chinese names can be confusing, but it is not my fault that they do not categorize as middle names. It is not reflected on my ticket, so I cannot depart the country. Ebookers only offered to refund me 120 pounds for a 470 pound ticket. That is unacceptable.
Secondly, they claimed that the airline charged them 50 pounds, so the cost would be passed on to me. But that is not all. They also said that if there were any differences in taxes and fees for my ticket, I would have to pay the extra. This means that they would have to cancel my ticket and pay for the difference in my "new ticket." This is an incredibly incompetent way of ticket booking and a colossal scam. Why is my name change not on the same ticket? Why do I have to rebook a "new ticket"? Is this not a way to get me to buy a new one at a higher price and increase your commissions? If the total price of my ticket is higher, the larger your commission?
Lastly, your customer service is abysmal. It is so bad that I have spent over 100 pounds on calls to your "helpline" all the way from Singapore. They did everything but help me. The attitude was terrible, and they offered zero probable solutions to my problem. I had to brainstorm for them, only to be rejected with "sorry ma'am, policy, regulations crap crap crap." You have ruined my holiday. How dare you call yourself a premier travel site?
Ebookers, you need to step up your game. Your customer service needs a complete overhaul. You need to be more transparent with your fees and charges. You need to have a better system for handling name changes. You need to offer better solutions to your customers. Until then, I will never use your services again, and I will make sure to tell everyone I know to steer clear of Ebookers.
Ebookers' Name Change Nightmare: A Warning to All Travelers
I recently used ebookers to book a flight from the UK to Mexico, which included several internal flights while I was in Mexico. Unfortunately, I have two middle names, and ebookers managed to mangle my name when transferring it to the Aeromexico booking. They made one of my middle names my surname and removed my actual surname entirely.
At first, I didn't realize my surname was missing because my full name is quite long. However, when I went to select my seats a month before the flight, I noticed that my entire surname was missing. I immediately called ebookers to explain the issue, but it turned into a two-week nightmare.
I had to fill out forms, send copies of my passport, and be on hold for an hour every time I called. They even hung up on me several times, and repeatedly asked for my "marriage certificate" to explain why I had changed my surname (which I hadn't). After all that, they finally sent me a curt email saying that the airline wouldn't change the name at all. My only option was to cancel the £570 ticket with a refund of £70 in taxes only and rebook a ticket for £1000. I was devastated to have wasted £500 and to be forced to pay an extortionate £1000 for a basic economy ticket.
I called ebookers in tears, but the guy on the other end of the phone hung up on me. I called again, still in tears, and the guy said he would "try one last time to ask the airline and would call me back." He never called me back, and no one ever replied to my emails after that.
Feeling completely hopeless, I guessed the email of an executive leadership team member of the airline and explained what had happened. To my surprise, he replied within an hour and asked for my number. Within another hour, his assistant had called me, and my ticket had been cancelled and a new one issued free of charge. I was speechless - how could ebookers have let me down so monumentally?
In my opinion, ebookers is more than useless. They are heartless and completely incompetent. I will never use them again and will book directly with airlines in the future to avoid any similar issues. On the other hand, Aeromexico was golden and has earned a customer for life.
Disappointed with ebookers.com's Price Guarantee service
So, I had booked my flights with ebookers.com from London GW to Dubai via Kiev. But, after giving it some thought, I realized that it would be more convenient and cost-effective to fly directly from London to Dubai. I called up the booking officer at ebookers and asked to cancel my flights. However, the officer suggested that I use their Price Guarantee service to match the price offered by another website called 'Travel up'. I agreed and went ahead with the booking.
But, when I reached the end of the booking process, I found out that the final price offered by ebookers was not the same as the one offered by 'Travel up'. I was told to send a screenshot of the 'Travel up' offer to an email address provided by ebookers. The booking officer also warned me to make sure that the website was legitimate and that the flights were exactly the same as the ones featured on ebookers.
I followed the instructions and sent the screenshot to the email address provided. However, I received a reply stating that the screenshot did not show the date. I sent another screenshot highlighting the date and the required evidence. But, I received another email stating that the screenshot was insufficient because the flight number was not visible. I sent another screenshot highlighting the flight number, price, date and time of the flight, the date and time I had discovered the flights, and the website it had featured on. But, I received yet another email stating that the screenshot was insufficient.
I am not sure what else I need to do to receive a price match. I am very disappointed and let down by the service provided by ebookers.com and their inability to fulfill their promise. It is frustrating to go through all this trouble and not get what was promised. I hope they can improve their service and make it more customer-friendly.
Ebookers.com's Lack of Customer Service and Professionalism: A Disappointing Experience
I recently booked a return flight from Copenhagen to Istanbul Sabiha Airport for August 2016 on ebookers.com. I was excited to visit Istanbul and spend the weekend with my close friends. However, my excitement was short-lived when I received a call and email from ebookers.com stating that my outbound flight to Istanbul on the 1st of August had been cancelled due to operational reasons. I was informed that the airline company had already issued me with another ticket for the 2nd of August. This was a major inconvenience for me as I had other plans in Istanbul and could not stay in Copenhagen for another night.
I contacted ebookers.com's Customer Service several times in order to find a solution. Each time I called, I spent nearly an hour on the line and had to explain my situation to a different person. After two days of trying to find a solution, I was told that ebookers.com could not do anything but refund the ticket price. I was extremely disappointed with the lack of professionalism and customer service from ebookers.com.
Despite the fact that the airline company had several other direct flights from Copenhagen to Istanbul on the 1st of August, ebookers.com kept telling me that there were no direct flights available. I even told them that I was okay with arriving at Istanbul Ataturk Airport, which is not far from Istanbul Sabiha Airport. However, ebookers.com was not willing to offer me a ticket to Ataturk Airport.
In the end, I was forced to either take the flight on the 2nd of August or accept the refund. The flight tickets had doubled since the time I booked my ticket, and I had to cancel my following day flight within Turkey and purchase another ticket. A refund was not enough to compensate for my lost time and money, and I had to cancel my original plans of staying over in Copenhagen and book a direct flight from London to Istanbul on the 1st of August.
Overall, I was extremely disappointed with ebookers.com's lack of customer service and professionalism. They did not defend their customers' rights and only worked for their business partners' benefits. I would not recommend booking any holidays or flights on ebookers.com. They might cancel your booking due to "Operational Reasons" without any explanation. Avoid ebookers.com at all costs!
Terrible Experience with Ebookers - Missed Flight and No Help from Customer Service
Had a really bad experience with Ebookers a couple of years ago and it still sticks in my mind. I was going through old emails and found the correspondence related to the experience, prompting me to finally write a review. My partner and I had booked a trip to Istanbul for Valentine's Day and were super excited about it. We double checked everything before paying and were sure that everything was in order. However, when we got to the airport, the lady at check-in couldn't find us on the flight. She said that the only flight she could find was one back to Ireland on the same date, but for the next month. We were shocked and told her that it was impossible as we had checked everything before confirming and paying. She wouldn't let us board and we had to buy tickets for the next flight, which cost us a lot of money. We missed that flight too because our bank accounts were blocked due to us using them abroad and forgetting to let the bank know. We had to pay even more money for the last flight available, which was going to cost us 800 between the two of us. We were so disappointed, angry, and let down. When we got home, I checked our booking again and it was down as the date that the lady had said, but it would have been impossible for us to book it incorrectly. We had both ensured everything was correct before paying and the date we booked back was in the same calendar month but the following week, so we did not need to open a new calendar month but just had to move the cursor to the following week on the same calendar. I got in touch with Turkish airlines, who referred us to Ebookers as we booked it through them, but they were not helpful at all. They said that we were supposed to ensure everything was ok before paying and it could not ever be an issue on their side, which I do not agree with. Things could go wrong with technology as well. Maybe with the details passed on from Ebookers to the airlines but basically they didn't give two *** and that was that. So they were no help to us at all and I have not booked anything through their website again. I would rather go directly to the airlines or Skyscanner who I find brilliant!
Ebookers.com: Terrible Service and No Refunds for Missed Flight and Delayed Luggage
I recently had a terrible experience with ebookers.com that I feel compelled to share. I contacted their travel agency in London back in March 2013 to help me book a flight from London to New York for April 9th of that year. The agent suggested a few flights, and I ended up booking a London-Montreal-New York flight with a 1.5-hour layover in Montreal. I mentioned to the agent that I had a Philippine passport and a B1-B2 tourist visa for the US, and asked if that would be sufficient. The agent told me to check with my local embassy regarding visas for transit flights, but I assumed that since they were the agency, they would book a flight based on the documents I had already mentioned.
On the day of my flight, I arrived at the airport ready to board, but the staff informed me that I needed a Canadian visa for the layover in Montreal. I was devastated to learn that I had missed my flight and had to book a different airline that did not require any transit. To make matters worse, my luggage was delayed for two days and was delivered to me with a slash in it.
My return flight to London was scheduled for May 14th and went from New York to Toronto to London. Regardless of whether or not I needed a transit visa, it was pointless to fly that same flight back. After weeks of arguing with call center agents and supervisors from ebookers over the phone from New York, they refused to refund me or reroute my flight back or offer any other settlement.
As a paying customer, I needed the service of a travel agency to avoid the hassle of booking, especially since I didn't know if I needed other documents for travel. All I knew was that I had a US visa. I gave my details, and the agent should not have assumed that I had all the necessary documents. They should have given me a direct flight, knowing that I had a Philippine passport and a US tourist visa. The agent was very insistent on selling the ticket, even though I said during the conversation that I wanted to check the flights for myself online.
I had a hard time figuring it out over the phone, and the travel agent did not really care if I had the necessary documents. He barely asked any questions about it. All he was concerned about was making the ticket sale. Ebookers should not be a travel agency; instead, they should be a ticketing office. I would have just booked the ticket on my own if I had to figure out all the document requirements on my own.
I spoke with agents and supervisors from call centers in India and the Philippines (connected with ebookers) to complain about what happened. I booked through an Indian call center, and they made me listen to the audio recording of the conversation where I mentioned my passport and visa, and the agent told me to check with my local embassy. They insisted that there was no agent error.
No amends were offered, and I paid for a roundtrip ticket that I never even flew on with the company's knowledge. Not a single penny was given back or offered to me. This is clearly the most shameful company I have ever encountered in my entire life. Your executives should be ashamed of the kind of service that their company provides their customers!
ebookers Complaints 10
Ebookers Review: Poor Customer Service and Misleading Website
I recently used ebookers to book my airline tickets, but unfortunately, I encountered some issues that were never resolved. I accidentally booked a flight for the wrong time and immediately reached out to ebookers to see if I could switch it to the next available flight on the same day. However, despite the airline having a 24-hour refund policy, ebookers was not willing to help me out. Their customer service team seemed incompetent and only provided responses that were convenient for them. I even spoke with different managers, but they all gave me different scenarios and were not helpful in resolving my issue.
To make matters worse, ebookers does not have a clear complaint department or procedure, and their website is misleading. They also do not follow the distance selling regulations, which has made it difficult for me to find out who their regulatory body is. I would strongly advise readers to avoid ebookers at all costs. It's better to book your flights directly through the airline, even if it costs a bit more, to avoid the unpleasant situation that I found myself in.
Ebookers' Price Matching Policy Falls Short: A Disappointing Experience
My recent experience with Ebookers was not up to par when it comes to their price matching policy. Compared to their competitors, Ebookers falls short in terms of flexibility and customer service.
One major issue I encountered was the strict time frame for claiming a lower price offer. With Ebookers, you only have 2 hours after making the booking to identify a lower price and claim a refund. This is a very short window of time, especially considering that prices can fluctuate rapidly. In contrast, a well-known competitor allows you to claim a refund within 48 hours if you find a lower rate on their own site or another party's site.
Unfortunately, I found myself in a situation where I could have saved ?176 if I had booked with the competitor instead of Ebookers. Despite contacting Ebookers customer service, I was met with inflexibility and a lack of sensitivity. The call centre representatives were unable to assist me satisfactorily, and a promised phone call from a supervisor was not returned.
To make matters worse, I found the quality of service from Ebookers' Indian call centres to be substandard compared to what I would expect in the UK. Overall, I was disappointed with my experience with Ebookers and would recommend looking elsewhere for a more flexible and customer-friendly booking experience.
Avoid ebookers.com at all costs - Terrible customer service and cancelled flights
I had a terrible experience with ebookers.com and I strongly advise against booking with them. I have used many other travel companies in the past, but this one was by far the worst.
I made a last-minute booking for a flight and hotel package, but ebookers took the money from my account and then cancelled my flights. When I called to find out what had gone wrong, they told me there was a card processing error. I assumed my money would be refunded shortly, but that was not the case.
I spent over two hours on the phone with ebookers' terrible customer service and my bank trying to resolve the issue. My bank told me that my money would be refunded in 10 days, but ebookers said they would not claim the money yet they had already taken it.
This booking was for me and my friends, and now everyone's holiday is ruined because of this company. My friends are so annoyed with me and they told me I should have booked directly with the airline. They were right, and I regret not doing so.
If this review can stop even one person from using ebookers, I will be over the moon. Their service is terrible and I will never use them again. Even if flights to the moon were only £1, I would not use ebookers and I will tell everyone how bad their service is.

Ebookers Review: Terrible Customer Service and Website Glitches Result in Wrong Dates and No Refund
I had a really bad experience with ebookers. I wish I could give them zero stars! I had a problem with their website. Every time I clicked on a ticket or price, the page loaded and said that the price was no longer available and showed a more expensive price. It was frustrating, but I finally managed to book a ticket. However, when I received the confirmation, I realized that it was for the wrong dates! I called customer service immediately to sort out the problem, but I talked to four different people, and none of them could help me. I spoke to people in France and in what sounded like a call center in India, but still, no one could help me. There was no procedure for this kind of situation, and I couldn't even change the flight and pay a fee. They refused to change the dates and suggested that I cancel the ticket with no refund and then buy a second ticket at full price. It was crazy! I spent a month's salary on this ticket, and instead of arriving on the 20th of December to spend Christmas with my family, I ended up with a ticket for the 27th. It was a horrible experience, and I will tell everyone I know to never buy from this company. They were really unprofessional, and it was a horrible experience. I still can't believe this is happening.
Disappointing Experience with E-bookers Car Hire: False Quotes and Poor Customer Service
I recently had an experience with E-bookers car hire service and unfortunately, it was not a pleasant one. I called to get a quote for a Honda and spoke to a guy named Garrish. He gave me a price of 155 pounds which I found reasonable. However, I wanted to confirm the price before making a booking, so I asked for his name and said I would call back.
When I called back, I got Darren on the line who informed me that the price of the car had gone up to over 300 pounds. I was shocked and told him that this was not what I was quoted earlier. To my surprise, he said that the price had gone up again while we were talking. I asked him to get Garrish on the phone, but he told me that Garrish was off. He said that my complaint would be forwarded to customer services and that I would get a response in 48 hours.
After waiting for two days, I received a call from a lady named Laxmi Viji. She told me that there was no record of me calling the first time. I was frustrated and asked her to get hold of Garrish. However, she told me that there were seven Garrishes there and she couldn't identify which one I had spoken to. I then asked to speak to the manager, but she told me that she was the last point of contact and that I needed to send an email with my complaint and telephone log.
Overall, I was very disappointed with the service I received from E-bookers car hire. It seemed like I was dialing an English number and ending up in India talking to people who were not interested in standing by their original quote. It felt like I was just a pound sign for them and they didn't care about what I was saying. I hope they can improve their customer service in the future.
Ebookers: A Frustrating Experience with Wrong Flight Booked and Poor Customer Service
I gotta say, I'm pretty bummed out about my experience with ebookers. I was trying to book a couple of flights that would take me about 8 hours, but somehow ended up with a flight that's gonna take me a whopping 24 hours! What the heck, man? The website was taking forever to load, and before I knew it, it had processed a booking for the wrong flight. I'm pretty sure it just defaulted to the first flight on the list, which is not what I wanted at all. Needless to say, I am NOT happy about this.
To make matters worse, ebookers then sent me an email saying that payment was being processed for the wrong flight, and reminding me to confirm my correct flight. But when I went back to the website, all I got was a loading screen with no flight details. So frustrating! I tried calling the contact number right away, but the only phone I had access to was the hotel phone, and ebookers started charging me for the call. After going through a bunch of options and racking up a hefty bill, I had to hang up because I couldn't afford it anymore.
Now I've got three emails from ebookers confirming the wrong flight and offering me a chance to confirm the right one, but with a price difference of 20 pounds. I don't know about you, but that seems like a pretty big difference to me. I don't think I've ever used this booking website before, and after this experience, I definitely won't be using it again. It's pretty rare for me to get this angry and write a complaint, but I just had to vent my frustration somewhere.
Ebookers Review: Terrible Experience with a Travel Scam
My experience with ebookers was absolutely terrible. I made the mistake of booking my travel through them and it turned out to be a complete scam. Let me tell you why.
Firstly, there is no phone number that is easily accessible. They only have an international phone number based in the UK, which is not helpful for those of us with limited calling plans. It's impossible to get in touch with them if you need to.
Secondly, there is no email address provided. This should have been a red flag for me. A travel agency without an email address is not trustworthy. They do have a chat feature, but it's useless for making changes to your itinerary. They'll just tell you to call them.
Thirdly, the phone number they give you is based in the UK, but you'll actually be speaking to people in India. It's misleading to think that ebookers is an English company when they're not.
Fourthly, the customer service is terrible. The representatives are rude and uneducated. They'll even hang up on you if you try to make changes to your flight.
Fifthly, any changes to your itinerary will cost you almost as much as the entire ticket. It's ridiculous.
Lastly, the payment options are not flexible at all. If you want to pay with a credit card, they'll charge you a service fee. Only debit cards are free of that fee, which is another sign that they're a scam.
I really regret booking my travel through ebookers. If I had done my research properly, I would have avoided them completely. I strongly advise you to stay away from ebookers. They're a complete scam.
Disappointing Experience with ebookers: Incorrect Room Booked and Poor Customer Service in Prague Hotel
I recently had an experience with ebookers that left me feeling frustrated and disappointed. I had called to book a Double room at Hotel Kings Court U Obecnigi Domu 3 in Prague, Czech Republic for a five-night stay from August 5th to August 10th, 2019. I specifically requested a room with a shower cubicle or walk-in shower, as I have difficulty using a bathtub.
Unfortunately, the advisor I spoke with did not seem to understand my request and booked a room with a disabled toilet instead. When I received the confirmation email, I immediately called ebookers to explain the mistake and ask for the correct room to be booked. The lady I spoke with assured me that the issue would be resolved and sent me an email confirming that the room would have a shower cubicle or walk-in shower.
However, when I arrived at the hotel, I was told that there was no information or email about the room with a normal shower cubicle or walk-in shower. The room I was given was intended for disabled people, with a toilet seat that was too high for me to use comfortably and a wash basin that was too low, causing me to strain my back every time I used it. When I asked to be moved to a different room, I was told that the manager was unavailable for the next five days.
Despite my frustration, I decided to make the best of the situation and stay in the room I was given for the night. However, the next morning I tried again to change rooms and was still unsuccessful. I was told that the manager was not available and that I would have to stay in the same room for the duration of my stay.
Overall, I was extremely disappointed with my experience with ebookers. While I understand that the people I spoke with on the phone may not have English as their first language, I feel that they should have been better trained to understand and communicate with customers. I will not be booking with ebookers again in the future and would not recommend them to others.
Ebookers: A Frustrating Experience with Booking and Refunds
So, I was trying to book a flight and hotel package online yesterday. I picked my choice and went to the checkout. I put in all my payment details and then it just crashed. It sent me back to the choice screen and showed a message that said "couldn't complete this transaction at present but try later" or something like that. I was pretty annoyed, but I decided to look on another website and found something better for less, so I went for that instead.
Later, I checked my bank account and saw that ebookers had taken my money. I checked my email, but there was nothing there. I called them up and explained what had happened. They apologized and told me that there was no problem and that it would resolve itself after a few days and the money would be refunded. They also told me how much would be refunded, which was only half the amount. When I asked why so little, they said to wait a minute and then left me hanging for 10 minutes before getting disconnected.
I called again and had to repeat everything again. This time, they told me that the amount they would refund in 5 to 10 days was just the hotel cost, not the airfare. For that, I would need to contact the airline directly. So, I did that and waited for 20 minutes on a premium number. Finally, I was told that they would not refund me because I did not purchase the alternative flight from them.
Honestly, I'm pretty frustrated with ebookers right now. I don't really want to call them again and go through all of that, but I guess if I want my money back, I'll have to. It's just really disappointing that a company like this can exist and there's no one I can complain to and make them accountable.
Ebookers.com: Hidden Fees and Poor Customer Service
I recently booked a trip to Lanzarote for four of my friends through ebookers.com, and I have to say, I was not impressed with their service. At first, they quoted me a price of ?218.78 per person, which seemed reasonable enough. However, when I went to purchase the tickets, I discovered that there was an additional charge of ?10.00 per ticket that had not been disclosed earlier in the process.
Now, I understand that they did mention that there "may" be a fee of up to ?10.00 per ticket, but that was hardly definitive. It wasn't until I had already paid for the tickets that I discovered the full extent of the charges. Even then, the ?10.00 charge was hidden away in another section of the website, and it was not at all clear that I would be paying an extra ?40.00 in total.
When I tried to complain about this, I was transferred to call centers in India and the Philippines, and I was not given the contact information for the London office. To make matters worse, I later discovered that there were additional luggage charges that had not been disclosed by ebookers or the airline.
Overall, I feel like ebookers is deliberately hiding these extra charges in order to trick people into using their service. It's a shady practice, and it borders on deception. If they were more upfront about the costs, I might have been willing to pay the extra fees. But as it stands, I feel like I was taken advantage of, and I would not recommend ebookers to anyone.
