Hello, my name is Debra Sharkey of Riverview, Fl. I signed up for the EOS Gym in Riverview, Fl. When I signed up with James on 29 May 2023. I really felt as if this was a great relationship the way this was explained based on my needs. I was a long-distance endurance athlete, suffered injuries that had me sidelined for a few years and was ready to get back into the gym. EOS offers on their website post-injury rehab and anti-aging prehab, just what I needed pending another surgery on 28 Aug which was clearly stated and is noted in my PII file. Signed on the dotted line, charged on my credit card 6/12/23 $280x4 60 min sessions. What I got was bounced around to 4 different trainers. Then I had to travel for 1 week for work in June. Upon return, Andrew Reyes contacted me and stated he would be my trainer. We met on 28 June 23 and went over desired outcomes and restrictions. I explained we were not where I wanted to be because of not having gym training in June and that we would only have 8 workouts in July because I had to travel for work for 2 weeks in August, but would like an on-the-road plan.
Turns out we only had 6 or 7, he cancelled. Let me tell you what happened during these workouts. I know how to work out, what I wanted was someone to watch and adjust my position. I have had 6 shoulder surgeries and a L 4-5 fusion in Jan 21. Wanted to make sure I was not going to hurt my back. Andrew was constantly on his cell phone, my positions were not adjusted to make an effect, he rusted me through workouts on 10 July to train another, and still to this day I have no workout for home or travel use. I have 2 months of training that I paid for and no training. If I told him I was not able to do something due to a prior injury, he insisted. The workouts that I have done with him are juvenile. Not something I would pay $70 an hour for. Constantly wanting me to do crunches or exercises that would affect my lower back.
When we talk, he asks me if I know the exercises I have done on Les Mills! I have tried to talk to the staff at Riverview EOS, but they constantly say they are too busy. I had ankle surgery on 28 August, my trainer stated that I had to have a doctor's note to freeze my account. I sent a note to my trainer after surgery, no reply.
I have served 24 yrs in the Marine Corps, and work for the Dept of Defense. Have run 5 Ironman's and many other long course races and was looking to get back into the gym and use the pool facility. I have paid for 2 maybe 3 months with no training and will be down again until my tendon heals again. I feel as though I have tried to work with my trainer and the facility. I am 56 years old and he is 22 trying to break into WWE Wrestling.
I have tried to resolve the training plan with my trainer, but he gave me excuses. Talked about the rushed training session, and he said that is just how he planned that session. I saw the girl waiting for him when I got there, wanted me to start earlier, but I was doing cardio on the bike. I told him I was not giving the gym a Dr, note for my ankle surgery is privileged info and not for extracurricular activity. Talked about freezing the account, and stated his manager could only do 1 month. I don't want to pay for services I am not receiving. When I do start again, is he working for nothing because he has already been paid? What is the incentive?
Desired outcome: Outcome: I am obligated to the amount of $3640. I would like to be refunded for the training that has not been used and out of my training contract, however, I would like to keep my gym membership. Debra Sharkey843-321-1069
