I came in to your empty emergency room tonight with an emergency, we think my girl friend is having either a minor heart attack or seizures and she is in pain on a scale of 10 she is an 8, dizzy, nauseas, can't stand. Triage took her in and kicked her back out into an empty lobby for an hour. I had to call your patient advocate to get anything done and they come out in 5 minutes and take her back. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE AND NEEDS TO BE LOOKED AT. WE WERE TOLD ROOMS NEEDED TO BE CLEARED AN HOUR AGO AS SHE IS CRYING FOR AN HOUR HAVING TROUBLE BREATHING AND SITTING UP RIGHT. THIS IS NOT RIGHT AND WE FEEL LIKE Y'ALL TAKE US A JOKE. I WILL RECORD NEXT TIME SHE COMES IN WOTH CHEST PAINS AND HOW SLOW YOUR LOBBY IS AND POST IT FOR THE WORLD TO SEE THIS IS NOT THE NUMBER ONE HOSPITAL IN EAST TEXAS. GET IT TOGETHER.

A etmc cargo truck just came into Williams Chicken on video survillence soliciting narcotics crack cocaine to pick up on Gentry parkway here in Tyler Texas. It was a black male in his late 50's that drove throughout Williams Chicken inside the heart of the drug stroghold here in Tyler.

I am a patient at the ETMC Clinic in Chandler. I called this morning to a leave a message about my prescription for my blood pressure medicine going to the physical pharmacy I use versus the mail order pharmacy I use (the pharmacy I use for my bp medicine). My message was recieved and was sent back to the doctors nurse. The nurse then called my home phone versus my cell phone which was left in the message to contact me at. The nurse left a message with my mother and was rude. She said, it was my responsibility to contact the physical pharmacy to get things cleared up, and that basically she had no time to do what was left in the message to do. My message had to stated to contact the mail order pharmacy and said number I left, and to use a specific reference number to expedite my shipment of my bp medicine which I have been without since last Wednesday since the post office lost the shipment and she had faxed the refill request to the wrong pharmacy. I had left within the message my cell number to call me back if their were questions. Meanwhile, I have now paid a second amount for my medicine and am left without the 90 day shipment of my medicine since she has NO TIME to follow through on the refill request to the mail order pharmacy so that they can ship my medication which they would like to do.

My son is a patient at the ETMC clinic in Frankston. I called and made an appointment for him for his monthly Vyvanse refill. I made the appointment for 2/22/17 at 4:00. When I made the appointment, I wrote it down as I was talking to the receptionist, read it back to her, and she confirmed it. When we got to the clinic yesterday, the receptionist told me she didn't have an appointment down for him. Then she looked for any appointments made for him and told me she had him down for March 1 at 4:00. I changed it to 2/28, and in the meantime my son is out of his medication. This is the 3rd time this has happened at this clinic over the past few years.

My Son was in hospital after having 2 seizures from too much Dilantin in his system. The Hospitalist, Dr. Bentley was very rude with my Son. My Son politely asked him why his neurologist did not check his blood when he saw her and Dr. Bentley got irate and left the room. My Son then checked himself out of hospital. To me it was very unprofessional on Dr. Bentley's part. My Son had a grand maul seizure in June and his brain is not back to normal. He has anxiety and gets anxious when people don't do what they are supposed to do. The ER was not a good experience either.
Negligence refuse to transport.
My 2 year old son had a seizure and stopped breathing. We called 911 and waited for about 10 minutes with an unconscious unresponsive baby, only to see the ambulance pull up nonchalantly and stroll to the door. The medic never touched my son and just started asking questions about what was wrong. I told him we needed to get to the hospital after about 4 minutes of questions. I told him specifically that we wanted transport to the hospital. And he said he had more questions, I told him to ask them on the way or we would just take him ourselves, and he said he wasn't taking anyone anywhere. We finally told him we would take our child ourselves and he just got in his ambulance and left.

My son had a seizure for the first time, I had took him to ETMC Hospital were they had given him fluids and poke him in every area you could think of. As parent it's hard for your child to go through so much pain. A doctor by the name of Dr. Zachery had check my son heart rate and temperature, and he had ask many question such as how long has he been sick has, has he been eating, and if he was allergic to anything. I had told him that he was allergic to penicillin, we were at the hospital for for over six hours to find out his fever was what gave him a seizure, and that he had a ear infection which didn't make matters better for him. They later gave me a prescription for his ear infection so when I drop off the prescription the Pharmacist noticed that the prescription they had given me had penicillin, I was so frustrated that they would given my child something he could not have.The Pharmacist persisted that she would call the hospital and have them prescribe me something else. I waited at the store pharmacy for a hour with my sick child trying to get the medicine he needed. My son was to fussy that I could not wait and who could blame him after what he been through. The Pharmacist said she would call me as soon as the hospital could fill the medicine I needed. Later that day she calls and to my disbelief she told me that the hospital would not give me a prescription, and that the other doctor's would not sign off either, and it was their mistake that the prescription was wrong but they couldn't give me anything, it only sounded like no one wanted to be held accountable for someone else's mistake, they had the nerve to tell me I had to call my primary doctor myself and let them know what symptoms my son had and have them write a prescription for me. I had ask for some one higher up to help me and later that person called me she was the medical advisor administration to only tell me the same thing, but the only difference was she wanted me to go back at the hospital, just so I can get a prescription for my son .I am beyond being very piss off because so much time has passed by and I still didn't have what I need. The Medical Advisor (Sarah) told me that the reason that the doctors would not give me a prescription was because that they did not know the patient and wanted to make sure that they give him the right medicine if that was the case don't you think they should have gotten it right the first time.I finally got the medicine I needed but at what extreme I had to take, I only could think how careless this hospital is in not paying attention to details. Thank goodness some does and that was the pharmacist who caught it.Thanks for your time I'm just a concerned mother who just needed one thing a medicine to help her child get better I guess for some people that was just too much to ask.

no communication "zero"
From they day my father was transferred from Athens TX ETMC to the ETMC Tyler Texas there was no communication. He is being transferred from ETMC Athens TX with pneumonia and heart failure. Upon arriving there they had no ideal at all why he was there. His oxygen level was very low and they started asking us how long he has been treated for COPD which he never had... he has pneumonia people. They do a heart cath and the doctor comes out asking about the COPD and had no ideal he had pneumonia. REALLY! It was one problem after another pertaining to communication. I finally asked to speak with his case manager and expressed all these problems and she told me someone in administration would be contacting me... never happened and it went from bad to worse. My brother is an RN and started questioning some of the meds and the case manager took it upon herself to call my sister who lives in San Antonio tattling on us. What the crap? They were moving him to another room and this charge nurse on the specialty wing come out yelling she was in charge and just reaming these little girls who had nothing to do with anything. HOW professional is that... right in front of the patient and family. We were told they were moving him at 3PM and give us a room number and the number to the phone in that room. At about 8:30 that nite they moved him after returning him back to the wing where he was. When they finally move him to the room there was no bed in the room at all. I can write a book on mistakes and non communication problems with this hospital. And no one seems to care. They do have some really good doctors but they are only as good as the information they receive.
medical incompetence
My Baby brother is 3 years old. my grandfather took him to the hospital. He hasn't been eating or drinking and has had a continuous fever. He has been telling me and my grandfather that he has a bean in his nose. His fever was reduced before he was taken to the hospital. I was employed by East Texas Medical Center's Emergency Medical Service for three weeks. During my probationary ride-outs, my field training officer told me to stay for the full 24-hour shift, even though EMTs were supposed to leave by 8 PM. I was afraid that if I were to leave, he would tell the education department that I was insubordinate, so I stayed. Instead, they fired me, even though I was following orders from my direct superior. I cannot sue them because Texas is a work-at-will state, and I was still a probationary employee. I am ineligible for rehire for six months. I encourage all EMTs and paramedics to stay away from East Texas Medical Center.
They said that was the sole reason. And no, I didn't stay awake for the full 24. They let me sleep on the couch in the station. I got up when we had a call at 3 am and had no problems with staying awake for the call.
