Family heritage global life
Do not sign up for this company. horrendous outsourced customer service. They don't care about you or your issues at all. in fact when you call their number the very first option is to make a payment. They will make you jump through hoops to cancel. I had to go to my bank to block payments. i was being double charged and had two policies open in my name. i asked for a supervisor more than one time and was not put through with one. I wanted to cancel with them multiple times but every time they made me jump through hoops. they literally told me if i wanted to cancel to turn my card off. which is funny because when you sign up you sign up via routing and account number so even if you turn your card off you'll still be charged. they were rude especially when they knew i wanted to cancel. it's absolutely ridiculous the way they scam and mistreat people. this company is criminal. sending their sales reps to businesses and communities selling wolf tickets. No one told me it would be this hard to cancel when they were at my job signing me up while I was simultaneously working. taking advantage of seniors and those in need of insurance. As easy as it is to sign up, it should equally be as easy to log off. the same positive energy they use to sign you up should be the same energy to cancel. the fact is, anyone who's not aggressively trying to cancel, like I am, will be stuck being charged or double charged. seniors and those who aren't tech savvy are not going to be able to jump through hoops or go through the proper channels to get the account closed. my accounts still not closed. I had to get my bank to block future payments which isn't full proof because they have multiple merchant ID's they can charge you through. so even though I blocked the two Merchant ID's that have been charging me, my bank notified me that they can still charge me by using a different merchant ID. I left a BBB review and had to open an investigation through my bank and through the BBB. This was the worst experience I have ever had trying to cancel a membership. a membership that has put me into overdraft and caused me financial hardship. I work in 5 different places to make ends meet. I struggle to pay by bills. I don't own a car or a home and I'm ex-military. I don't ask for handouts and chose to live like a minimalist. I have insurance through my job and haven't needed Global life for over since months. never used the service. paid every month. and when i try to quit i spent an hour on the phone 2 times and basically was told oh well. and the two-question survey about the experience, doesn't happen if you or the person answering hang up the phone. so in both instances i was not able to leave a review of my experience. This is a criminal organization and there are so many other options for insurance and life insurance. please do not trust these crooks. Already have to investigations open and i hope they pass a law against criminal enterprises like Global life. Telling people to write an essay, send fax's, pdf, describing why you want to cancel and then having to wait to see if your justification for cancelling gets approved is absolutely. It should never be in your policy or training to tell a customer if you want us to stop billing you, then tell your bank to block payments. thats a crime. youre aware the payments arent authorized and you still continue to charge us.
Desired outcome: Refunded backdated and my account closed.
unauthorized savings account charges
On September 24th 2019 and October 10th 2019, Family Heritage charged my savings account for $32.00 (in total $64.00), after i had canceled my plan and got a confirmation letter saying it was successfully canceled. I canceled my plan on September 7 2019. I should not have been charged either times after the cancelation. How do i go about getting my money back? email is [protected]@yahoo.com

Ohhh Family Heritage Life Insurance
In 2008 a representative from this company talked me into signing up for for this policy. I was only 18 at the time and my mom thought it was a good idea in case I ever had a future illness or accident in the future and if I didn't there was a future pay out option which seemed like a win win. When I was 25 we called on the policy just to verify the age again when you were able to cash out for the first time. It was extremely difficult to get ahold of someone but when we finally did we were informed after 20 years I would be eligible. Recently I've been through all kinds of medical and family hardships. My grandfather past away hurting mine and my financial state and I was diagnosed with a spinal condition that left me with no choice but to take a leave of absence from work without any pay or options to take care of my medical expenses. During the process of my financial hardships I changed bank accounts as a result of consolidated my debt and after reaching out to the company at least 5 times to try to get my payments to come out of the new one they canceled my policy. This one piece of mail delivered to me was the only contact I had from Family Heritage in years. In a rage my wife contacted them which at that point they finally responded and offered to reinstate the policy (this was weeks ago, we are still waiting for the paperwork in the mail) meanwhile I have a medical condition I am unable to take care of at 29 and have wasted 32 dollars a month for the last 11 years that seems to be fraud. Signing with this company was the worst decision of my life.

Reimbursement for monthly fee taken out of bank account after request to cancel due to death
We contacted customer service via telephone in Nov of 2015 after the death of my uncle on Oct 29th, 2015. They continued to take out $71.50 out of his checking account. Sent a letter in June of 2016, they still continued to collect monthly payments until March 2017. They only reimbursed my aunt a little over $400.00 dollars when the total amount taken out was over $.1200.00. They claim that the policy had been transferred to his current spouse in 2012, but we have no paperwork showing that.

Scam of a company - horrible policies and an awful employer to work for!
Potential buyer beware. Potential employee (“independent contractor”) beware. This company solicits overpriced dread-disease policies (cancer, accident, heart-disease, and life insurance) door to door in lower-class areas, often to people who cannot afford traditional major medical health insurance. The only people who are really making money are the CEO, Howard Lewis, and his slimy entourage of upper management. You are merely a slave, given no base salary, no benefits whatsoever, who is encouraged to work from 10am to 9pm, Monday through Saturday to fatten the wallets of your managers while they are out brainwashing more potential sales reps. Why? Because the turnover for this legal pyramid scheme is through the roof – they can’t hire people fast enough to replace all of the turnover (which is probably in the 60-75% range. Seriously).
Why this is an awful insurance policy to own:
1) It is overpriced compared to Aflac and other policies available through your employer.
2) They target people in lower-class neighborhoods, many of which don’t own a major medical policy. They are conned into thinking that “at least they have some coverage.” In reality, they do not – they are only covered if their family deals with cancer, heart disease, or accidents. And poorly covered, at that – the reimbursements hardly cover the money you pay in premium.
3) The customer service is awful and they, like any other insurance company, will do their best to avoid paying claims whenever possible.
4) If it was so great, wouldn’t you have called them? They just showed up at your doorstep to sell this thing to you. Doesn’t that sound a bit strange?
Why this is an awful insurance company to work for:
1) Door to door. Residential.
2) They place you in lower-class neighborhoods, encouraging you to work from 10am to 9pm at night. Most of these areas are unsafe after dark.
3) No base salary. No benefits. Nothing. You pay your own gas, your own hotel costs, your own airfare to company functions, even the parties that are held at company functions – those go right on your tab! What a joke!
4) 100% Commission-based. And the commission is entirely arbitrary – they assign your contract percentage based on how badly they want you to work for them. The directors/managers are on 80% or higher contracts. They give their slave labor contracts ranging from 30-70% of the premium amount. That means, in most cases, your manager makes MORE money than you do on YOUR sales!
5) They don’t care if you quit – if you quit, your manager still gets paid on your policy for the time that policy stays on the books.
6) Policy retention – these policies, much like the salesforce, have an incredibly high turnover. Policies are cancelled at a ridiculous clip – somewhere in the 25-30% range. If not higher.
In summation, you are out of your mind if you are ever convinced that this is a good company to work for or buy a policy from. The polices are terrible, the salesforce is a bunch of kool-aid drinking half-wits who are merely slaves to their manager, who kicks back and makes the majority of the money while you sweat your tail off, selling this crap door to door. Buyer beware. Employee beware. You have been warned.
Interesting... We have had our coverage for 7 years and never thought we'd use it. Over the past 6 months it has paid us over 38k while my son has been battling cancer. The money has been a big help.
It is unfortunate that you have such a negative opinion. I'm assuming that you only worked for them and never had to use the coverage.
While I can not speak for every department, we have been very happy with the claims side of Family Heritage Life Insurance.
Checking account fraud
We bought policies from this company in july of 2006 thought the better of it and tried to cancel our policy the first time in june of 2007. Since then, they have fraudulently taken money out of our checking account for a loss of more than $4000. You can not have a civil conversation with them if you want to cancel. We took the money out of our checking...
