Prepaid-USA Similar to many the reviews below I received a card with $1000 from my company

Similar to many the reviews below I received a card with $1000 from my company. I didn't realize the card expired in 1 year, I was saving it to use for my newborn son only to see it expired and the funds care completely stolen by prepaid USA or as they say "forfeited" with no way to get any money back. It took me months even to get through to customer service - with their line often being busy with no way to talk to anyone, I left multiple messages and never received a call back. I feel cheated and that this is fraud.

I was having trouble using a recent gift card and was unable to use it anywhere. I called Prepaid USA and talked with Hannah who talked me through the process of registering it. Once it was registered, I was able to use in it both in store and online which was my goal. Hannah was very professional and helped me solve my problem quickly.

Prepaid-USA I tried and failed to use this card a handful of times, I set up a pin etc

I tried and failed to use this card a handful of times, I set up a pin etc. but was never able to get any use out of it. Imagine standing at the checkout counter and getting your card declined, how embarrassing. Just now I called the number on the back to see what the issue was and learned that the card recently expired - what a load of BS. I thought there were laws against gift cards expiring. PLEASE CONSIDER A REAL GIFT FOR YOUR EMPLOYEES. These cards may be easy to give, but they are not easy to use, and expire in 1 year.

I was trying to use my card online and it would h work. After contacting customer service the rep informed me the card had to be registered to use online. After doing this the card worked. The rep was very nice and helpful.

Prepaid-USA This company is ***!

This company is ***! I never write reviews but I just want to warn any corporations or HR departments from using them as an employee benefits provider. They deduct fees from the balance of the card each month after issuance and make the expiration date very short. I had misplaced my card and only to find it had expired a month ago and prepaid USA refused to issue a new card. When asked what happens to they money, the representative told me to read the terms and conditions on the website to see where the money went. What kind of business model is this? They are stealing money from company's and their employees. DO NOT USE!

Prepaid-USA I previously reached out the company due to an expired card

I previously reached out the company due to an expired card. I explained that the card was misplaced prior the expiration date and I called the number on the back of the card to follow up on it. I called several times with last call being in a month later. I then left a voicemail on that last call, but still no call back. Finally months later I found an email address and explained the above. I was told that since that voicemail was after the expiration date and that I was given a call back. However, there is no record of that on my end. It seems like they don't want you to get in contact with them regarding a card, which seems disingenuous.

Was wondering why I couldn’t place an online order - called customer service who told me that I needed to register my card online (along with my address, etc). Once I did that, the card worked great. Customer service picked up immediately and answered my question. No complaints

Prepaid-USA Excellent customer service!

Excellent customer service! My questions were answered and problem solved very quickly. However, the company itself is a hassle. Same experience with everyone else who's reviews I've read. Registering your cards is a hassle and you have to register them in order to use them. Each card had to be registered since the login was only for the specific card. Originally I tried to use the cards in a store with the PIN number and even those were rejected. After registering it online through their very long and annoying system, I was able to get the funds I needed. Too bad the company is not as worthwhile as their customer service who was so kind and quick to reverse the charges after I told her how annoyed I was by this process.

You have a total gem in your employee Mia. In today's time where so many are not wanting to work, you have Mia who shows great pride working for USA Connect, Inc. and takes her job very seriously. I was expecting a several day delay in any response to my email. I know staffing can be slim pickings and to have an immediate response to my email by phone, followed up by an email was most impressive and appreciated. I hope she is valued by YOU, the Employer, as she is valued by ME. She totally resolved my concern though I now realize I didn't explain it very well. She somehow knew was was happening and was spot on on how to fix it...and it got fixed. I pray she sees this and has a very "Merry Christmas" & "Blessed New Year."

I received several of these "gift cards" from my employer only to find that the funds expired in a short period of time and appear to be in direct violation of the Federal CARD Act (CREDIT CARD ACCOUNTABILITY RESPONSIBILITY AND DISCLOSURE ACT OF 2009). Under this Federal Act, non-reloadable debit cards should have funds available for a minimum of 5 years. Prepaid-USA sells cards that expire within just one-year, and do not provide options for consumers to recover the remaining balance. Even if a card expires, the funds should not expire, but this business explicitly states they will not issue new cards and funds are gone. If you want to reward your team, go with a company that supports consumers and provides funds for the minimum required 5 years.

Be aware! This company scams! When your pre-paid debit card expire at one year only, they will not replace your card with or without cost. They just simply forfeit your money. Even it is against fedral law of CREDIT CARD ACCOUNTABILITY RESPONSIBILITY AND DISCLOSURE ACT OF 2009! I am so wondering, as a financial service provider when cards expires, the money neither goes to the issuer nor the issuee or State unclaimed fund pool but to their own pocket and they keep telling you this is perfect legal? This is so unacceptable! I am filing a formal complain at comptroller of currency under U.S. department of Treasury. If you are experiencing the same lost, I encourage you to do the same so. DO NOT LET SCAMMER TAKE ADVANTAGE ON YOU! https://

My company purchased a large quantity of $5 visa cards to send to new customers in welcome mailers. At the time of purchase, there was no clear indication that a $3.95 inactivity fee would be charged after the 10th month of inactivity. Then, every month after the 10th, additional inactivity fees are deducted. Mind you, these inactivity fees are deducted even when the card hasn't been activated yet. We just wasted a boatload on visa cards sitting in a fulfillment center that are all now worthless. Very disappointing. I was told that our clients can call a customer service line to reverse "one inactivity fee." However, when I called that line I was sent to VM and their voicemail box is full. Had we known about the limited shelf life, we would've ordered a smaller amount or may have passed on the idea entirely. Beware of this expensive scam.

Prepaid-USA I haven’t even been able to log on and use my card after a week of trying

I haven’t even been able to log on and use my card after a week of trying. I received a digital card from my employer and I was able to activate it over the phone fairly quickly. However, I have yet to able to logon to the website to add a zip code, rendering the card completely useless in a digital format. When I try to enroll my card online, I complete all the information, but continuously get the error message “Please Update Your Information”. But, if you try to click through too many times, you’re locked out. As others have stated, I have tried contacting customer service at least 20 times, but no one takes the call. The message is that all representatives are busy, but won’t give you the option to stay on hold and wait. I tried leaving a voicemail, but no response yet. Seems like a scam. My employer must have ordered at least 3500 of these cards and I hope they don’t use this service again. It has been nothing but a poor experience.

One word...SCAM! i can't imagine how these people get up and go to work every day. I've been dealing with them for 5 months now over $1,000 of expired cards. Like the *** they are, they negotiated the replacement of a specific number of cards in exchange for a 5 Star customer service review on this site (see October ). These many months later, i have received nothing but excuses, runaround and finally silence from the very same people mentioned in other posts on this site. It is clear to me now that they never intended to replace the cards. They engineered a scheme (which, by the way, cost me more money in shipping fees) and then conspired to deflect, mislead and lie with the understanding that i would eventually give up. Shameful business...Shameful people...buyer beware! By the way...it seems to me that the service fee they receive per card is not how they make their money...they hope and expect that a large number of prepaid cards will expire with funds attached, so they win when their customers lose...shameful business model.

Prepaid-USA I have ordered large quantities of gift cards from Prepaid-USA on two occasions

I have ordered large quantities of gift cards from Prepaid-USA on two occasions. I have always been pleased with the customer service--timely responses to inquiries, asking the right questions to ensure that the product I received would meet me needs, and on time delivery. But I am prompted to comment at this time because I was unable to use a large order for an event during 2021 and early 2022 because of Covid. When I realized that the cards were about to expire, I contacted the company to see what could be done. Even though it is not the usual policy, the company offered me a refund minus a service charge due to the circumstances. We are a tiny business and having to bear the loss of that amount would have been a real blow. The representative Ruby was able to meet my needs, gave exact and thorough instructions as to how to return the cards, and receive my refund. Prepaid did not have to do this, and I am so grateful that I was able to deal with human beings dealing with human beings who did "the right thing" in these unusual circumstances. They have a loyal customer in me.

Prepaid-USA I utilized this company for a large company event ordering about 126 or more gift cards

I utilized this company for a large company event ordering about 126 or more gift cards. In approximately July, we reduced this number to 86 cards needed and had already paid the company the full amount. Due to our time frame PrePaid-USA was great about adjusting the order to the number needed and then assured us they would refund us the remainder of the amount. This was a 5 digit amount, not a small sum of money. Here we are in July 2022. 12 months from our initial order and about 11 months since we have been owed a refund by this company. We have received countless excuses that they have mailed the check but, are not able to mail a check with tracking information. They claim they have mailed 3 checks over the last month but, never with tracking or any details about the envelope, package, ect. We are now being told that they can magically send with FedEx tracking in a method we suggested 6 months ago (bank mails company a check and they mail it to us with tracking.) Still have yet to see this check ... We will be taking out business elsewhere from here on out. Users.. Beware.

This companies' business plan relies on the fact that you will not re-coup the face value of your card. After setting up the card, I was declined use at a gas station, online retailer, and Lowes. When I tried again to use the card this week, I was told that it is now expired and has no value. It has been a huge waste of time trying to get any use out of this. Prepaid USA only offered to provide a replacement card after I posted a negative review here. They wanted the negative review deleted before they would begin the process of getting me the replacement. Is this how legitimate businesses work? They declined to send a check for the value of the card, proving that once the card is purchased, they consider a good portion of the cards value to be their profit since it will not be recouped, through fees, declined use and 1 year expiration term. My employer has agreed to stop using Pre-Paid USA services, and will fund the value of the card to me. Hopefully other potential customers read the negative reviews here before they spend any money on this fradulent business. Also for fun reading check out all the 5 star reviews and see how many you think are fake, my guess would be at least half.

I agree, with many of the reviews of this company! I to had three cards valued at $50 each, that clearly stated they were good through November , first of all thank goodness I looked closely, I knew they were in my wallet, and had planned on using them for the holidays, had no idea they had an expiration date! However when I went to use them in November, the value on all three had decreased to $38.15! As with many others, I have tried to call, research other customer service numbers, call and have yet to get anyone on the phone. i started calling in November when I would have some time to spend on it. I finally was able to get someone from the bank on the phone yesterday, which gave me an email address to reach out. I did get a pretty quick reply, only to tell me that my cards now carried a $0 Balance, and there was nothing she could do! When I emailed her right back to explain what I had already told her, that I had tried to reach someone in November, even left messages, with no reply, she did not reply, emailed her again, and asked her to give me a call...no reply! Update... So I just got someone on the phone with USA Connect, and she refused to help me! She kept saying that she had no one to transfer me to in her dept. I told her to transfer me to someone in her COMPANY that could help me, she refused. UGH! This company has horrible customer service, and I to believe its a scam not to mention to be in direct violation of the Federal CARD Act (CREDIT CARD ACCOUNTABILITY RESPONSIBILITY AND DISCLOSURE ACT OF 2009). Under this Federal Act, CONSUMERS PLEASE BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY!

I bought ovr $20,000 worth of gift cards from Prepaid USA in December for my company. We used the gift cards as rewards for diffrent things. We gave out all the gift cards by June/July cuz the company got sold to another company. Now it's 2021 and the gift cards can't be used no more cuz they expired at the end of 2020. And if the gift cards weren't activated on time, Prepaid USA charged a $3.95 fee. When I talked to a person, she said they told me about the expiration date and fees when I bought them. They didn't. And she only talked about the card holder services agreement, but most people throw that away. How can a company that says they're for employee rewards take money from people? They didn't try to give me new cards or let me talk to a boss about it. How can a company charge a fee for the card, then charge more fees, and then cancel the card in a year? They're just taking money from people. I would never tell anyone to use this company.
