Disaster averted!
I don’t have a review. I just want to say thank you to each of you that have reviewed F&G Life Insurance Co. Yesterday my life insurance agent said he found the perfect life insurance company for me. I asked them who it is. He said Fidelity and Guaranty.. I told him I’ve never heard of them and I will research them before we proceed. Thanks to all your reviews, no way I’m going forward with F&G. I will let him no tomorrow to scratch them off the list and to come up with another company. Thanks again everyone!
Liars & Thieves
Fidelity & Guaranty Life (F&G) took my 2021 interest from the iShares Gold Trust away from me; $7,500 went missing from my annuity account value on December 15, 2022. They went back over a year in the past & just took it. I filed a complaint with the California Department Of Insurance in January 2023. F&G was ordered to give me all my funds back (full account value of $133K), waiving all their surrender charges, in April 2023. I had to also file a complaint against F&G’s appointed agent, Brandon Kimmel. On April 14, 2023, I discovered some damning new evidence against their appointed agent who sold me F&G’s infamous “Power Accumulator 10” (An FIA that’s main selling point is all about “GROWTH” 👎🏼). He had falsified all my material information on F&G’s electronic application; also was able to alter my info after he obtained my e-signatures. This was all done around the time of F&G’s implementation of “Solicitation Via Virtual Sales” & “Remote Policy Delivery Options”, et al. I’m devastated; left with no life insurance that I had for 26 years (a universal life policy which had significant cash value), no annuity/death benefit & can never again trust annuity insurance companies nor agents. My goals & plans were destroyed; three valuable years of the ten years I had left to obtain some “GROWTH” have been wasted. I was also subjected to tremendous abuse by the most ruthless woman named Karyn Doehring (a “compliance analyst”) whom F&G sicced on me to harass, verbally abuse & threaten me via telephone (I was never allowed to communicate with this woman via email) throughout this whole ordeal. She also tried numerous tricks on me, trying to force me to sign incorrectly worded F&G forms which contradicted her verbal words & would have been detrimental to me if I had signed them. F&G started having serious complaints beginning in 2019, when Chris Blunt became president & CEO. F&G officially went public on the NYSE in December 2022, the exact same time my funds (interest I made that was sitting in my account for over a year) went missing — not a coincidence. F&G engages in unethical & illegal business practices & only cares about their shareholders, not their policyholders/customers.

This company have been taking money from my account for years and they are giving me the run-around. I had put in a stop payment request in 2018 and for some odd reason, there are still t stealing my money. Scam artist in the flesh, told the bank but they are saying that its an ach so therefor it is nothing they can do. I had to open a new bank acct *** obviously they have all my personal data...bums!111
I give this company a 0 rating. This company is a piece of [censored]! I had life insurance with them for over 20 years. My premium went from $77.00 a month to over $1,000 a month. I wrote a letter to cancel. They took *** out of my checking account that was for other bills. When you're on social security, $1,000 is a lot of money. When I called they said they never got the letter. Would not refund my money . Whatever you do, do not take insurance with this company. I called and they were very hateful to me and said they would not refund my money. HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE COMPANY. DO NOT TAKE ANY KIND OF INSURANCE FROM THEM. They won't let me comment unless I leave a star rating so I'm leaving one star but I don't even recommend one star. HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE COMPANY!
Do not buy!
Do not buy! They drop you they charge you heavily to reinstate once your over 65. F-minus for this company. My father lost $10,000.00 with them. Now that my mother has passed away, he cannot afford to keep up with their loophole games. Go to Metropolitan or any other company but them.

This is a horrible company to be avoided at all costs. at the time i signed up for it 15 years ago, there were no ratings readily available. the company increased my premium 15 years later from $89 to $812 automatically withdrew the money and wrote a very misleading letter that the premium will be reduced by $3.49. Misleading? Oh yes. Here is what they meant, the premium should've been increased from $89 to $815 but they reduced it by $3 dollars to $812. Can we do a class action case?
I made multiple attempts to have my money disembursed
I made multiple attempts to have my money disembursed. I began my request in November . I still have not received any funds (February ). There is always an excuse. I have to submit, for the 3rd time, a request disbursement of life insurance form. My agent didn't follow thru with multiple texts or concerns. I would never recommend this company to anyone.

This is an A+ rated company for a reason, have dealt with this company for years as a financial professional. If you deal with Insurance Agents that have no idea what an annuity is then you are in for a wild ride. They all work differently to address different concerns. If you are looking for a specific payout amount for life and I put you into one that doesn't even have an income rider(ability) to do that then that would make you mad! If you wanted growth only and I put you into an annuity that averages about 1% or less but has a great roll up on the income side and more than makes what you need for income would you be happy? NO! WHY? Because you need to use a planner that actually takes into account your needs and puts you with the company that meets those needs. And then you would be happy. This company is an A+ rated company, we do lots of business with them and they are great to work with. Working with over 200+ companies I can honestly tell you this company is my favorite to work with. They are always nice, accomidating and will go the extra mile for me. Maybe that's because I am a Financial Professional. But to be honest, an individual should not be dealing in annuities anyway. Their Financial Professional should. So if you are the one dealing with the company I am going to assume you were sold by none other than the INSURANCE AGENT just looking for a good commission. People, be careful who you work with and make them explain why this product is great for them. Now, I will say not all F&G products are right for everyone. Many times they aren't who is right for someone. Which again falls back on the Advisor, not the company. Its not the companies fault that an insurance agent sold someone something that wasn't for them. Because they do not promote to sell the product to just anyone. They want you to use suitability to see if it is appropriate for the customer. Problem is some people lie. But F&G is an excellent company! They have some great products that make double digits and also have good payout factors, meaning good income. And their customer service is unbeatable.
Horrible life insurance company! I asked for an accelerated benefit claim form as I was diagnosed with stage IV cancer with mets. I have 2 policies. The policy I asked the ABR form was the $100k face which premiums were drafted monthly and was active. To date, I have not received a claim form, it's been 3 months. I had one policy that was quarterly billing which I mailed what the customer rep to prevent the Universal life policy from lapsing. It took a while for them to find and match the payment though I indicated my policy number. I received a check of $33.66 they charged me $1391.16 surrender charge for the accumulated value in the Universal Life policy I have with them which the F&G rep was paying for my policy but the notice retroactively cancelled.
Do not buy!
Do not buy! My husband has been gone for 7 weeks and they still have not sent my life insurance. It took almost three weeks to get the paperwork to fill out and even longer to Process the payment. Every time I call to check they extend the date. (*** working days then *** working days and now ***). They are unsympathetic and unhelpful. They call themselves a small but mighty team. I have NOTHING good to say about this company.

The worst company I ever handed money to!
The worst company I ever handed money to! About 6 years ago I started a annuity for over $20,000 with a promised 7 - 8% return. 6 - 7 years later now it has barely made even 1% return! While the stock market has doubled (100% gain) and tripled. Nice that they promise a 7% return and never pay even 1.5%! So you make no money and if you try to pull it out before 10 years you are charged a very high % penalty fee (a fee way more than you will ever make)! What a rip!

Awful experience
Awful experience. Been trying for 7 months to annuitize deceased father's annuity. 800 number provides incorrect info. Calls get disconnected when you ask to speak to supervisor. Have called them more than 20 times. Sick of the hold music. Office loses forms you fill out and send back. Fill it out again, send it back again and wait again. Every time they 'lose' a form is another 3 week turn around delay. Still trying. They're running out of excuses.? It should be embarrassing.
Zero points is not low enough
Zero points is not low enough. There should be a negative scale as well for F&G. I have an annuity with this company of over $700,000. I wanted to begin my annuity payments as of Feb. 2022. I filled out all their documents and emailed them in on Jan. 5 2022. Since then I have had 7 phone calls, sent in additional documentation at their request, have been promised return phone calls, including a "guarantee" by a supervisor that someone would call me, all to no avail. They are quite literally holding my money hostage. I have now engaged my attorney as a last recourse. My advice to anyone seeking an annuity would be not to consider F&G in any capacity.

The company won't accept my termination of the policy because it has a polciy that the letter must be written no sooner than 60 days to the date the term renews. They have my letter that states I don't want the term to extend, but won't honor it because it's too early. How stupid is that? I bet they are hoping I won't cancel the term insurance so that I have to continue to pay the huge price jump the term makes! While I appreciate having the coverage when I needed it, this makes me wonder if something had happened to me whether or not my beneficiaries would have received the funds. It feels like they are playing tricks. They know I want to cancel the policy, acknowledge having the letter, but won't honor the letter because it's not 60 days before the term ends.

Nothing but run around
Nothing but run around. I have disability insurance with Fidelity & Guaranty Life along with a life insurance policy.. In July I had brain surgery at UCLA to remove a tumor the size of a large lemon. I started the claim process in August as soon as I returned home. I was not allowed to return to work nor drive. I have to have MRIs every 3 months for at least a year or longer. They gave me a date of when to expect a check, that date came and went. When I ask for updates they want more paperwork. Every time I, my doctors, my work have submitted the requested paperwork they want more. They have no problem taking your money but when something like this happens they have you jump thru hoops. It is now the end of December and still no check and they want more paperwork. If I could rate them less then one star I would. I am cancelling my life insurance with them (wonder how long that is going to take).

I paid $73.00 a month for 15 years into an insurance policy so if I could not work due to an injury the policy would pay my mortgage. I never used the policy, and I was told in 2021 I could cash out my premiums for about $12,000. I called recently and was told I could cash it out now for $8,500. I agreed. I have been given the run around since October as to why I have not received my money. "We mailed it and it was returned", "we must have spelled the name of your city wrong. We'll reissue it". "There is a 10 day old on it then it will be resent". "I don't know what you're talking about". "It's being reissued." "There will be a 10 days told." "We cannot send you a copy of your policy and documents because your account is closed". "Someone will call you back". I still have not seen my check. I'm filing a complaint with the US Department of Justice, the Iowa and Nebraska attorney general's office and getting a private attorney. This company is a total fraud.

A+ Rating Has Nothing To Do With How They Treat Their Customers/Policyholders (which they cheat, lie to & treat horribly, not to mention their customer service is the worst ever). A+ Rating Only Has To Do With Their Financial Strength & That Does Not Mean They Are Good To Their Policyholders, Which Everyone Can See From All F&G’s Complaints & Reviews All Over The Place Online !
Also, it’s your favorite company to work with because you, the agent, make the most commissions off of selling F&G’s products (referring to annuities like I had) which your unsuspecting client pays for because it’s all built into the policy from the very beginning. But you keep on misleading honest, hard-working elderly people to take their money. Agents do not have their clients’ best interest in mind; only their own — despicable !
0 is my Rating I learned, that I became a victim that you only read about
0 is my Rating I learned, that I became a victim that you only read about. I been paying $405.96 on my policy for 30+ years and the way it looks on my papers I pay the same amount until age 94. On May 2 I received a pending Lapse Notice stating min. due $185.94. I looked at the last statement for payment date and was wondering why such an odd amount. I submitted a $101.49 EFT quarterly payment on April 3 and it cleared April 15. On May 4 I spoke to customer service. I was informed my new monthly payment is $101.90 quarterly $305.70. I explained everything to him. He's telling me that this happens with life Policies. I explained I am retired and this is a big difference. I informed him, I was never informed of this when I was sold the policy that my rates would go up. To me, it looks like it stays at $405.96 yearly the entire time I pay and this it's $0 after that as what I understood that is on my contract. I informed him what I had from 1990 that what I believe is my contract and I don't see anything like that. I also, was looking at the Yearly Values and Benefits yearly premium printout that I have that is dated June 6, 1990 that I informed the agent I was looking at. He was not able to see what I was reading. He told me he would have to request a copy of the contract, it was to old to pull up at his end. It would take about 3 days and I would hear from him at the end of the week (that did not happen? Still without a copy of the contract. Also, I asked why I didn't get a notice of the raising of my rates and just Pending Lapse Notice. The agent did not have an answer. May 13 spoke to another agent she informed me still No Contract to review--Lost. Boils down--the higher rates need to be paid. She couldn't promise in the future that the premiums would not go up again (the rates did go up to $203.88 every 2 months, on top of the $101.49 every 3 months). I asked, when you sold the policy, why your not told about your monthly bill going up. No real answer. My answer--either a Con or Amateur (Not trained properly) Also, the 2 times I called the automated system could NOT find my policy. Since, I have had this policy so many years and my age is not the best to start a new one, I have no choice but to pay what they say needs to be paid above and beyond the original amount. Hopefully, we can get this all resolved. After all the research, this is common practice of the sales of policies and the rates finally go up at retirement age. If I was aware of this unfair activity, I would of just open a savings account or something along that nature, and I would not be in this predicament. I hope, this all has been one big mistake and the problem will be resolved. Also, when I did an Internet search there are many similar issues that I am dealing with.

Fidelity & Guaranty Life Complaints 13
Their customer service, or lack of
Well, it seems as though I’m not the only one who has had horrendous experience with this company. I was starting to wonder what I was missing and it turns out, they are just terrible to work with all around. A couple of years and numerous attempts at contacting this company for information about an account, WITH the proper documentation on file, and always told they can’t talk to us etc.. given the run around from day 1. Never helpful. Now that it’s too late for the previous and sufficient documentation to afford us information that WE HAD the right to, the less than helpful Compliance Analyst mails out a generic response citing state and federal privacy regulations as an excuse to continue to provide zero service. Maybe if you had done your job from the start, we wouldn’t still be asking for this account information now.
Annuity — missing funds from account value
I was in dispute with this company, Fidelity & Guaranty Life (F&G), over thousands of dollars that just disappeared from my account value on December 15, 2022 — stolen from me. They took away a large amount of interest I made; went back more than a year in the past & just took it. The California Department Of Insurance (CDI) handled it, after I made a complaint with them, since January 9, 2023. On April 3, 2023 F&G was ordered (or they “offered”) to give me all my money back (“account value”), having to waive all their surrender charges — approximately $133K. They then issued a check to me on April 25, 2023 & the check was just cleared last month on May 20, 2023.
Thereafter, I also had to file a separate complaint against the agent appointed by F&G. On April 14, 2023 I discovered some new, very important & damning evidence against this insurance agent; that the agent appointed by F&G, who sold me the infamous “Power Accumulator 10” (An FIA that’s main selling point is all about “GROWTH” 👎🏼), had falsified all materially significant information about me in F&G’s “e-app” (digital application); also was able to alter my info after he obtained my “e-signatures” on the e-app. This was all done around the time of F&G’s implementation of “Solicitation Via Virtual Sales” & “Remote Policy Delivery Options”, et al. This agent suggested only F&G because HE made the most commissions from them; never had my best interest in mind. He had to give all his commissions he made off of me back to F&G (chargebacks?).
I am devastated! Now I am left with no life insurance that I had for 26 years (which had significant cash value), no annuity with death benefit & cannot trust any agent nor annuity insurance companies. He destroyed all my goals & plans, wasting three valuable years of the ten years I had left to obtain some “GROWTH”. I had been doing all this research & investigation by myself nonstop since December 2022, causing me undue mental stress (that’s an understatement) & also suffered tremendous abuse by F&G’s ruthless “compliance analyst”, Karyn Doehring, whom verbally abused & harassed me like a bully via telephone (I was never allowed to communicate with this woman via email) throughout this whole ordeal. This ruthless woman tried different & numerous tricks on me, trying to get me to sign contradictory & incorrect forms that would have been to my detriment.
Finally, I found all the evidence I needed against this crooked agent. This agent is in big trouble also, since what he did is a felony. I am going to make sure this man will never be able to do this to anyone else ever again, especially the disabled & the elderly.

I was misled by a sales rep saying my investments would be liquid and I can take my funds at any time, even if I canceled my policy. I got the policy more as a savings plan vs a life insurance policy since I already have life insurance. He sold me on the fact that I would make 7% on all money invested. I went to cancel policy today and they said I had no cash value to get back . I invested $600 into this savings account and think its best to give my money back. I don't mind taking some money to pay for the policy but that wouldn't warrant them my entire $600.

We tried to surrender an annuity and get our money back
We tried to surrender an annuity and get our money back. They keep giving us excuses and hoops to jump through, while they stall. We had an annuity with this company that we decided to surrender. We submitted our form with all necessary documentation. After about 10 days they claimed that the signature didn't match so we have to submit the form again with a copy of our driver's license and passport. We provided that, but after another 10 days they claim the signature now doesn't match the signature on the driver's license. Now they want us to get it notarized, so we can "attempt" to surrender again. It's our money, no matter how much we meet their demands they won't give it up.

I purchased a Term Life Insurance Policy from F&G policy # L0845853 and paid every months payment on time for 18 years
I purchased a Term Life Insurance Policy from F&G policy # L0845853 and paid every months payment on time for 18 years. I was told the policy would renew at the end of January 2022 and that I would need to send a letter to stop the renewal if I didnt want my premium payments to go up. I sent the letter according to how I understood the agent was advising only to have it cancelled 30 days before the end of the term and was hit with a $3100 penalty for terminating my policy 30 days before the end of the term. I tried explaining to the agent that my letter expressed my intent not to renew only to be told there was nothing they could do. In a day where we having rising prices and tough times, Im distraught that this company would penalize me for $3100 because I mistakenly worded my intent to not renew letter in a way that suggested I wanted to cancel 30 days prior to the end of the term. Where is the justice in that?

Fidelity and Guaranty Life has billed us for an alleged missed payment and cannot state which payment according to their records was missed
Fidelity and Guaranty Life has billed us for an alleged missed payment and cannot state which payment according to their records was missed. On July 7 my husband, Charles D ***, and I, *** L ***, each took out a term life insurance policy from Fidelity and Guaranty Life, policy numbers XXXXXXXX and XXXXXXXXA, with a total monthly payment of $153.60. In April the usual payment was made. However, the next billing indicated a charge of $307.20 for a missed payment. We began to check our records and found that although we had a copy of Aprils check it had not been reconciled on our bank statement. A payment of $307.20 was made in August to cover the April payment. Payments of $153.60 continued to be made for May, June and July. In January we again were billed for a missed payment. When F & G was contacted by phone and asked what payment was missed it was obvious the representative didn't know or could give a credible response. After being put on hold for a while she returned and said a payment was missed in 2011. We have no knowledge of missing a payment back in 2011 and never received a notice at that time. We will not make a payment that we feel is not due.

Seeking assistance for a frustrating experience with F&G employees
Dear Sir or Madam, it is with regret that I am writing to seek your assistance regarding a recent extremely frustrating experience I had with F&G employees. I contacted a representative on January 31, 2022, to request a Certificate of Annuity, not a letter or statement. I was assured that the certificate would be ready to send shortly. Due to the time-sensitive nature of my request, I followed up with F&G on March 14th. I was informed that the certificate had been sent on March 2nd. However, as of March 22, 2022, I have not received it. In my latest communication with F&G, I was given a reference number and was told that an incorrect certificate had been sent on March 2nd. Upon checking my F&G secured mailbox, I found the wrong certification statement. I was promised a callback today, which I have yet to receive. I urgently need the correct Certificate of Annuity for submission to the Consulate. I request that management verify my information, review my previous correspondence, and take appropriate action. I am available at any time for further discussion. Thank you.

My aunt passed back in December and left me a life insurance policy with Fidelity
My aunt passed back in December and left me a life insurance policy with Fidelity. I started the claims process January 13. I was told that they would complete their due diligence on the file and send out paperwork Within *** business days. We didnt receive said paperwork for 30 days, then need to fill out papers and send back along with a death cert. I received packet Feb 11 and 2 day aired it back to them the next day. So they received my paperwork Tuesday feb 15. I followed up later that week and was told it would be processed and a check mailed within *** business days. I called again March 9 to check on the process. They told me at that point that they are backed up and they are hoping to process a check by the end of March possibly the first week of April. I spoke with them again today March 21 and the timeline has changed yet again. They are now telling me they are shooting for April 13 but no guarantee. There is no timeline at all that they have stuck with. If due diligence is completed before original paperwork was sent to me then why does it take so long to cut a check once packet was received. I have asked for a supervisor and was told multiple times there is nobody they could transfer me to. I am at the mercy of whatever they want to do. Its bad enough that I have to deal with the pain of a lost family member without the aggravation and lost hours spent on dealing with fidelity. I have done everything asked of me and would like to receive payments due to me.

In July, I received life insurance reinstatement forms from F&G
In July, I received life insurance reinstatement forms from F&G. Upon receipt of the forms I contacted F&G because I was unsure as to why I was receiving reinstatement forms. I was told by the customer service rep that my life *** policy had lapsed due to payments not being received for 2 consecutive quarters. I was a few weeks late with my June quarterly payment, but I had sent by 2nd quarter payment back in April. I questioned the 2 consecutive quarters and proceeded to complete the reinstatement forms. Along with the reinstatement forms I had to send a check for $393.12. The date the check was written was July 16. On July 22nd F&G cashed my check for $393.12 for reinstatement along with my check for my second quarterly payment dated and sent on 4/25. The company either intentionally or mistakenly withheld my 2nd quarter payment which lapsed my policy. The next part will indicate why I believe it was intentional In February, I was diagnosed, as a nonsmoker, with stage 1 lung cancer. In May, I had a lower left lobectomy following the procedure I was declared 100% cancer-free and did not have to endure any further treatments. As part of the reinstatement process, I was asked to complete a health section, and I indicated the change in my medical history. F&G then proceeded to contact me to ask for further information about the medical change. When my policy was reviewed by the underwriters they denied my reinstatement. Why is this an issue? Because the company withheld my payment from April 25, F&G lapsed my policy due to their mistake in accounting. I have been consistently working on this issue since July with absolutely no answers as to why my April payment was withheld. I believe the company intentionally withheld my April payment to lapse my policy so they could deny me reinstatement due to the changes in my medical history.

RE: Annuity Life Policy Inquiry L0121827 Issued: 6/7/YYYY
RE: Annuity LifePolicy Number: L0121827Date of Issue: 6/7/YYYY On January 22, I became the Executor of my sister's financial, medical, and overall welfare interests. In her files, I discovered two documents from April 24, regarding a policy by OM Life for $121,000 issued on June 7. No actual policy was found. A letter from OM Life provided contact details, now outdated. On June 24, I spoke with a Customer Service representative, Tera, and explained my Executor/Power of Attorney status. I sought documents to confirm policy surrender or cancellation. Tera informed me that OM Life was acquired by Fidelity Guaranty and no record of the policy existed. After questioning the integration of records, Tera asked for a notarized instruction letter and POA copy. On July 12, I requested all documents related to the policy from its issue to the present. I got a signature confirmation of receipt on July 16. On August 11, I was told by Fidelity that a response was forthcoming. On September 1, another representative confirmed a letter was sent to the original address, which is now invalid. Despite my requests, Fidelity refused to send it to my current address and has not acknowledged my legal request. I have received no response.

***Correction: Omit “CT”. Don’t know how that got on there***
Very smart choice, Jason. I wish I would have known more about them before I got into that mess, but I trusted the agent — big mistake ! The agent kept saying how great they were & never suggested not one other company. Sure, CT great for the agents because they make the most money (commissions, et al.) by selling you an annuity (FIA) from this fraud company, F&G. That’s why the crooked slimebag agent I had only suggested this evil, greedy & unethical insurance company to buy a 10-year annuity from. He & F&G ruined everything for me. They all put me through five months of pure hell (that’s no exaggeration) until I finally got all my money back, plus the interest they tried to steal from me, plus they had to waive all surrender charges because the California Department Of Insurance ordered them to.
GOOD LUCK TO YOU ! 🙂
