Equity Partners Insurance Services Stay away

Equity Partners Insurance Services, Inc. 34641 Grantham College Dr. Slidell, La 70460 Brian and Nicole Silva scamed me and my wife out of $1, 750.00, plus around $1, 200.00 in moving expenses in December 2007. We signed a lease to rent a house they bought and renovated in the presence of "Owner/Agent-Nicole Silva". Nicole, Her husband and Father met us at the house after taking our check, giving us the key and we moving all of our furniture, appliances and boxes into the four bedroom home. She introduced her father and husband to our family and the next day relisted the house back onto the market. Two days later, our check cleared the bank and Brian Silva, President of Equity Partners Insurance Services sent me an email stating that we had to move out of the property within 5 Days. We had just spent 7 days cleaning up the yard and house and moving all of our belongings into the house at 206 Constelation Drive in Slidell, LA. Five days after that, Nicole Silva, "Claims Adjuster for E.P. Insurance" went to the courthouse and filed an eviction notice against us, stating that we had NO CONTRACT, because her husband did not sign it and she has NO INTERESTS in this company(She is just the Real Estate Agent). Twelve months later we have not gotten one cent of our money back from the Silvas and we have an eviction on our record from a house we never lived in(Because they turned off the utilities and would not give us the permission letter to get it turned on in our names. She must have really needed this money for Christmas, because in her correspondence, she insisted that the Check be made out to "Nicole Silva"-It is a good thing I had the intuitiveness to write it out to the Business Name she put on the lease! NICOLE AND BRIAN SILVA ARE NOTHING MORE THAN TWO LIARS, THIEVES AND SCAMERS...PLEASE BE AWARE OF THIS BEFORE YOU DO ANY BUSINESS WITH THEM! January 21, 2009. They continue to try and remove this complaint without giving us back the money we gave them at the time of the lease signing. If their INTEGRITY is so important to them, why is it that they can not return our money when they reverted to saying that we had no valid lease contract ?! December 3, 2009.

You do know that you can go to the real estate commission and file a complaint. Also notify the DA's office in Slidell.

Wish we had seen this before we rented the same house from the Silvas. We moved across the country to this house we saw for rent online. When we arrived, no one had the keys and we finally hunted down Brian who brought them. He acted as if he had never seen the house before. It was filthy and the garage roof was caved in. The air conditioner was broken and the floor was falling apart. We spent a year here fixing things up. We painted the deck, put in an outdoor BBQ, put blinds up, painted the front door, entryway and kitchen. Replaced mailbox and added front window shutters. We replaced toilet seats and kitchen faucet. We were putting in so much of our own money without compensation, we decided we needed to buy our own house. Once Brian found out we were leaving, he put a lock box on front door and had realtors and clients coming in and out with very little notice. We accommodated all requests. Nicole had come and took pictures of the house with all of our belongings. When we told Silvas what was ours he said we were not to remove anything. We moved out after our 30 day notice after being harassed by threats of eviction day after day. We even had a police man come by to verify we weren't harming the house in any way. We still have not received our $1750 deposit back and Mr Silva has texted us that we won't be any of the deposit back. (No explanation). Mr Silva then went to my work and filed a complaint which caused me to lose my job. As the previous people stated...DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH BRIAN SILVA, NICOLE SILVA or EQUITY PARTNERS INSURANCE. They are scammers.
