Me and others in State Farm Mutual Enterprise Tech - ISD had our data used in a "PRT" pension risk transfer Retirement Annuity deal before I left the org. I now find out that Not only State Farm Mutual, Gainsco, BlueOwl and Alight (servicer) are involved but also F&G Life & Annuities. I also know me and others data was breached both that the state level (Illinois/depts) as well as the PBI and MoveIt and Change Healthcare data breached notified of. The Retirement Annuity "pension" portal (alight) and service has been terrible, lacking info we need for attornies, financial people and family. The Self Service "Portal" model was not implemented well and in a way that employees could get Good through info on what they were being foreced into (a tiny monthly Retirement Annuity) account (which we did not want and would never have done). I wanted to know the balance of my pension/retirement fund, the calculations/actuarial table, PROJECTIONS, insurance costs, service fees and other fees/costs involved in this "retirement annuity" I did not want.
The portal and Total Rewards staff at HR and SF Net (website) and Alight website had little to no info on 1. what this product was 2. balance of pension for me 3. options for drawing it out when I left like lump sum amount, balance data/info, projection, cash value or annuity detail or IRA rollover options). 4. The info was both lacking, and portal did not allow us to do much of anything (upload or get a tiny monthly payout).
I expressed my concern only to be berated in a letter by a "legal" person at SF communications and the HR Total Rewards/Retiree "Product Owner" brow beating me and basically saying I just don't understand the product and gave me a lax explanation again never answering the questions I posed multiple times. At this point, as my data has been breached with this PRT transfer deal to a product we did not want and never got full transparency or options on. AON Hewitt did a similar deal with Country Financial (as I ended up getting a full lump payout for IRA rollover from them after expressing my concerns.) Clearly Alight, F&G and State Farm are either intentionally giving ex employees the run around or never handled our data or calculations for these "annuity" products right. The Alight servicing has been terrible as well. The Total Rewards HR at State Farm has been equally terrible and demeaning. The Service Now and ticketing and communication systems at that org seems to abuse ex employees, those that complaint in writing or via their website.
I'd like to know who and how this is being handled here forward as it all has been abusive to (retirees) and those needing relevant info on this PRT deal and servicing. I am retaining an attorney if I continue to get the run around as the "too big to fail" or care motto is how State Farm Total Rewards and their Communications and HR/Compliance teams handle situations.
I am aware of other ex employees, policyholders etc that have similar concerns and experiences with breaches, transparency and service issues.
