Fantastic furniture and their online support staff are a joke! I recently purchased a queen-sized bed frame from their online store. The only communication I received from them throughout the entire process was the confirmation email stating they had received my order. The email stated it would take 1-7 business days to receive an additional email stating my order was ready for delivery, and would then be able to arrange a suitable delivery date. This email never came. I contacted Fantastic Furniture on the 7th business day asking where my order was, and I was informed they would contact their supplier for follow-up. In the meantime, I moved apartments. When I moved into the new apartment, I found I had an attempted delivery card from ‘Aramex’ stating I was not home when they had attempted to deliver something (I had no idea what they were trying to deliver or that it was my bedframe, as I had received no communication from them about it). When I inquired about my options of collecting the parcel, I was eventually informed I could either collect it myself on the other side of the city, or have an attempted re-delivery at an additional cost. I was then required to drive to Port Melbourne to collect this unknown parcel in my own time in my own car, using my own fuel and paying for tolls. When I arrived, I found that the parcel was my bed frame. As I have a Mazda 2 car which is very small, I was forced to try and shove the bed frame into my tiny car to take home. Neither Fantastic Furniture nor Aramex had told me the bed was ready for delivery, that it was coming on a particular day, that it was out for delivery, or that delivery had even been attempted. I then contacted Fantastic Furniture about this, requesting a refund for the delivery fee ($41), as I had not had the bedframe delivered, but instead had to go and pick it up myself. The Fantastic Furniture staff then stated as their delivery partner had supposedly ‘delivered’ the parcel (despite it not being delivered, and me having to go and collect it), I could not receive a refund. The staff have been completely irrational with their so-called justification about why I can’t receive a refund for the delivery fee. They continue to repeat the same thing, that the delivery fee covers the time from their partner warehouse to my location, but as the delivery was unsuccessful, they took it back to their warehouse, and as my order was received, I won’t be getting a refund. What they can’t seem to understand is that the delivery was never going to be successful, because they never told me a single thing about the delivery, and I had no idea it was coming. Shame on you Fantastic Furniture for robbing me of the delivery fees when the delivery wasn’t even made, forcing me to use my own fuel, pay for tolls, and try to fit the very large parcel into my tiny car! It is absolutely unacceptable that this has occurred and good luck getting any future purchases from me again.
Recommendation: DON'T BUY FROM FANTASTIC FURNITURE
