This Company's work ethic and communication are extremely poor
This Company's work ethic and communication are extremely poor. I had *two valuableitems taken from my home by someone they hired, which is completely unacceptable. They should prioritize trustworthiness, but unfortunately, they fail to do so. Additionally, their prices are exorbitant while their delivery falls far short of expectations. My *smalladdition, which is only 200 Sq feet, has been dragging on for over a year now. It is frustrating and disappointing. Moreover, the owner's behavior is consistently rude and disrespectful, further adding to my dissatisfaction. Choosing to work with father and sons was undoubtedly the worst decision I could have made for my home.

On March 16th, we had a father and son duo come out to our house to provide an estimate for the necessary home repairs. The company sent a salesman who gave us a detailed breakdown of the project and the associated cost. We informed him that we would need to finance the project, to which he assured us that it wouldn't be a problem as they offer in-house financing. This was great news for us as it meant we didn't have to search for a separate finance company. The salesman quoted us a price of $45,000 and informed us that the project would commence in May. During our discussion, he inquired if we could make a down payment, and we agreed to put down $3,000. We assumed that this amount would be deducted from the overall price, and he confirmed our understanding. Additionally, he introduced himself as the owner, along with his son, which instilled confidence in us regarding the project. However, when we contacted them in May to inquire about the start date, we discovered that the salesman was not the owner and had sent our paperwork to a finance company. Unfortunately, the finance company declined our application for financing, so we requested a refund of our down payment. Surprisingly, the salesman informed us that we were not eligible for a refund due to a contract we had allegedly signed. However, we never received any contract documentation from them.
I entered into a contract with them in July for the purpose of adding an addition onto my house
I entered into a contract with them in July for the purpose of adding an addition onto my house. The plan was to demolish the existing addition, which I was not satisfied with, and construct a new one. They informed me that the progress of the project was being delayed due to the impact of Covid-19. I have been in recent communication with the Supervisor, but due to the ongoing issues with the Father and Sons, I decided to hire another contractor to oversee their work. I attempted to contact the manager and a woman in charge three weeks ago, but unfortunately, no one returned my call. However, last Saturday, a woman named *** instructed me to visit their office. At this point, all we need is a starting date as everything else has been approved. They requested my presence at the office to approve some changes, but I was never informed or shown these changes. It is important to note that they are not authorized to make any alterations without the *** or the Supervisor I hired, as the original drawings had already received approval from the city of Chicago. I am unaware of the nature of these changes as they have failed to provide me with any copies or inform me or my contractor about them. My expectation is for the job to be completed according to the original drawings that were approved by the city of Chicago, as well as by myself and my contractor.

I reached out to Father and Sons Remodeling to have a dormer installed on my house
I reached out to Father and Sons Remodeling to have a dormer installed on my house. On 2/10/22, I signed the contract and made a down payment of $6,000. The agreement was that the work would commence on the first day of spring. However, it is now 10/10/22, and no progress has been made. The village has requested that the contractor pay a $2,000 deposit for incidentals and $883 for the permit, which was originally included in the price I paid. However, Father and Sons are insisting that I make the payment directly to the village. Furthermore, the village has informed me that the contractor has not provided them with the necessary licenses. The contractor claims to have given the village $10,000, but the village denies receiving any payment. I should have been more cautious when the contractor negotiated, renegotiated, and ultimately canceled the floor replacement in the affected area. With winter approaching, I have rearranged my home in anticipation of the work starting, but nothing has happened. My husband has serious and ongoing health issues, and I cannot afford to have my roof torn off in the middle of winter by a contractor who has already proven to be unreliable and dishonest. This project has already caused me a great deal of stress. I demand a full refund of my $6,000 or that the work begins within the next two weeks, with a guaranteed completion date of 11/20/22.
