refund withheld 2 months continually being told it has been paid / not paid
During my stay in mid June 2015 there was flooding in hotel which meant all guests had to vacate and terminate stay in hotel. I am owed from them around 159 euros and have been fobbed around for last 2 months and I am being told money refunded then not etc, My bank details etc are all in their hands and every email is a waste of time. As hotels.com / expedia.com was my link to them I am complaining to get this refund and expect more as consequence than being ignored for so long. I keep asking my bank and they tell me nothing at all had ever been attempted to be put into my account from this Appart'city in every date they told me they tried to refund me, some 3 or 4 times now.
I believe there may be up to 100 people from the time the hotel was closed who are to be refunded who may be in same position, possibly.

I booked accommodation at a Hilton
Hotel in Vienna and emailed them a few days later asking to change the booking. Several weeks before the time of the booking. I had my Visa card debited but no further contact until I emailed twice more when I got a response to say it was non refundable. So, like many others it seems I have no accommodation and a large debt to pay.
What now Gala Hotels? You are a fraudulent organisation according to a great number of dissatisfied clients.

money taken from my account, hotel not booked
I am owed over $1000 after they received my payment but failed to book my Hotel. The hotel was in Cuba,
I arrived to find the Hotel had no knowledge of my booking. The hotel had been closed for repair and the group under which it is managed always relocate customers if they need to.My experience of hotels in Cuba is one of honesty and helpfulness and I do not believe they are to blame at all, only Gala who should be responsible for their promise to accommodate.
In our case the Hotel did not have my name or payment from Gala so I had to find an alternative and pay again. I have spoken to Gala, tip, when you telephone them, you have to use the "booking option" of four choices or they will not answer the phone at all, you will be left on music for hours option.
I have been promised money that failed to materialise and written many emails for which I only receive generic replies to say they are looking into it. The money was taken at the end of June. It is now August 18th. I am getting nowhere with my claim and they refuse to allow me to speak with a supervisor. They promise return phone calls which never happen. I feel reading reviews of others that this company has a level of dishonesty that others should avoid. I am happy to write again and give a better opinion should this be resolved in the next week but I fear it is a scam as others have testified.

Fake company, we made reservation for hilton Amsterdam on 4/4/15. Our credit card was charged at the same time of out booking. At the time of our arrival to Hilton Amsterdam we were told that our reservation does not exist and never did. Do not do any business with GalaHotels. Com I have made Hilton Amsterdam reservation through GalaHotels 3 months prior arrival. Upon arrival to the hotel we are being told that we do not have any reservations. I called my Credit Card co and been told that GalaHotels credit my card 3 days prior arrivals. We had to pay regular Hilton Amsterdam price and wait a day for a room to be vacant. This Co is a Fraud, do not do any reservations through them.

I tried to book a hotel from this webpage. I paid with a debit card, they carged me and sent me an email with the confirmation.
Two days later, the sent me an email asking me to send them a photo of my credit card (I paid with debit) and also a photo of my passport. All by email. In my country, this is illegal to ask you for a photo of your bank card.
They refused to book the hotel, and they didn't return me the money. Also its impossible to talk to them by phone.
Scam company. Not recommended. Be careful.
I booked a hotel with gala hotels and got a email with the price. 2 days later they emailed me again to confirm the booking. I rang the hotel and they had NO booking After ringing them a few times they finally booked the hotel. When I looked at my bank statement they had taken 100euro more then they quoted. NEVER again would I even think about using them. They keep emailing me with deals etc. I just delete them all.
I'm starting the process of asking for the refunding for a money over an hotel in spain i did cancelled well in advance! That booking waa charged from the visa card. I received an email saying the refund will be payed, after the 21 days, nothing. Then, i phoned them; they say the refund will be there in 3 days. Now, they dont answer over the phone; sent a mail, did not have answer... If this is a fraud, can we all join together and do something?

Booked a couple of times with Galahotels last years. Was allways ok. Now booked a hotel in Athens centre (Greece). We arrived around 10 pm: there was no reservation. After hours of phoning and talking: they found a reservation with another hotel with about the same name, but 12 km furtheron! Though the adress etc. on our voucher was the correct adress! We had to pay again for the hotel where we now were and which we, in fact, also had booked. Next morning we got the confirmation from the hotel 12 km furtheron, that we in fact díd have a reservation there, under my name and paid with my creditcard. But nothing about refunding! No question about that! Allthough we did NOT sleep there and the reservation was on another adress! Now, back in Holland, I am busy since two weeks, phoning and emailing hours and hours. NO reaction to emails, on the telephone I’ve just been sent from left to right and back again and again; spoke to at least 10 different people, but every time NOBODY can find anything about my case and I had to start to explain it everytime over and over again. Just to hear somebody say “I’m sorry sir, can’t help you” every single time.
I’m fed up wit it, guess I’ll never get any money back, and will never ever book with Galahotels no more!
(I've got the prepaid hotelvoucher with the correct adress, my creditcard-payment and also the reservation with my payment and name from the "wrong hotel", all "black on white"...)

On my above assessment I received a response from Gala Hotels within 24 hours. They offered apologies and pledged to refund the money . Furthermore, whether I wanted to change my review . My response was that if they kept their word ( my deposit money back ), I would change my assessment, and noted that that would never be quite positive because of the effort it took me to achieve this and because of the fact that they initially did not respond ..., only after a " bad review " . So here is my adaptation : fine that I in the end got my money refunded quickly, but the most urgent advice is to take real care for your customers! And do not make it virtually impossible to contact Gala hotels if there are problems ! The latter in particular for me still weighs very heavily and I find myself with the thought that I still will not book so easily anymore with Gala hotels!

I would like to inform anyone reading this: never book over gala hotels on the internet.
My story: - i have booked hotel in brussels (Cascade louise) and it seemed anything was ok: i’ve got booking confirmation, voucher from the hotel, invoice and when i confirmed the booking the money was immediately withdrawn from bank account.
- in the mean time the information from the bank if there is everything ok, because money was withdrawn from some turkisch company
- one day after the bed surprise…. Info from gala hotels that there is “ unfortunately” no place in the hotel and that they propose another hotel (Lower class hotel) and there will be no additional payment needed?!
- i refused and asked them to return the money.
- they confirmed that they will return the money in three days and now i am waiting what will happened.
However i am afraid i will have to sue them since info from personal on reception was that they do not know the gala hotels company and that is probably a criminal.
So my message is: never gala hotels
I would like to inform anyone that Gala Hotel has refunded all the money due to abortive booking from their side -already confirmed and paid booking of the Hotel Cascade Louise in Brussels they have not reserved. I have claimed and they have refunded all the money within ca. 10 days.
Anyway I will think twice to book over Gala hotels once again.

Apart from needing to use better English you are very fortunate to be booking in a hotel. Some people don't even have the money to book at a hotel far less book themselves into a private hospital. However, let us see what will happen with your issue.

I made one reservation on the website in 02.05.2014 for 3 nights in Barcelona at Hotel California.The GalaHotels charge my credit card and sent me one voucher for the booking I made.In 19.05.2014 I arrived at hotel at 10 pm and the personal for the hotel say to me that reservation dont exist.
this was a fake booking because on the voucher it was 3 days whit halfboard but the hotel have just breakfast all the time.
I write one email because on the telephone dont answer at that time.
Galahotels give the money back but I want compensation because I pay a lot of money in plus .
They want to give me just special discounts for the next booking but I never made in the future booking whit this company.

I have booked a hotel in September with galahotels.com, they took my money, when I arrived at the hotel, in December, there was no reservation in my name and I did not have a room! I called customer service to galahotels and they replied that they will refund the money but so far have not done anything. On this site they said they would contact me but they did not, they are liars, none of them called me to fix it! It's been several days and I have not received any refund, they invent excuses, saying that the problem is my bank, but it is not true! are crooks!

I booked a hotel room using galahotels.com and soon enough received booking confirmation. Same moment my credit card was charged for this booking, everything looked as it was supposed to at the beginning but when I arrive to the hotel they told me that there is no booking under my name. Soon we discovered that this booking company is just another scam on the internet. Avoid them at all costs.

Plus, none of their phone numbers work, so good luck calling.

They robbed me! They said full price then when I went to the hotel they charge me an additional $35. Someone asked for me to send the bill. I did 2 months ago several times no response. I booked the hotel in Rom, got the confirmation and a day later the informed me:
"Unfortunately your booking in ROME for 18-Aug-2018 – 20-Aug-2018 could not confirmed due to lost availability at the hotel you requested.
We will need to relocate your booking to an alternative hotel:
You will not need to make any extra payment."
I disagreed and informed them that the hotel is still available at booking.com and the hotel they offer is 30% less expensive and without breakfast than the prioe I paid!
I recently got burnt booking a hotel through galahotels.com. I had to book a hotel in a small Spanish town about 3 hours before getting there. Upon arrival, the hotel informed me that they had received no communication about my booking. They graciously offered to wait until next morning to see if they information would be received by that time. The following morning the hotel receptionist called Gala Hotels but no one was picking up the phone. I ended up paying the hotel directly (which I have no problem with whatsoever because unlike Gala Hotels they actually provided me a service). Hence, I was charged twice once by Gala hotels and another time by the hotel.
I has been several days since I sent an email to Gala Hotels requesting a refund but haven't heard from them at all. I emailed Trip Advisor because it was their website that allowed Gala Hotels' listing. I filed a dispute through my credit card company and should be getting my money back (not a large amount) but it is a shame that Gala Hotels is still able to advertise and cheat people out of their money.
No refund even after more than a month of cancellation.
I have also been logging 4 complaints cases and the answer is to wait for the next couple days!

I booked a London hotel with them online and was charged for the booking after few days I got a confirmation of the booking via email but to my greatest surprise the next day I got another email from them stating the price I paid is for another cheap hotel. Hi, a lot of people knows that Hotelcollect is a scam site, I think wich the new name for the same fraud is Gala Hotels.com
They have the same location and are using the data base of hotelcollect.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
On arrival at the hotel we've been informed that Gala Hotels has canceled our bookings and so we had to pay again at the hotel front desk.
Gala was not reachable (phone, mail etc). They just generate standard mail replies when using the customer care portal.
Our credit card provider has returned the money in the meantime.
They cancelled my reservation, the phone numbers do not work and they do not answer submitted cases from their website. This is 100% a scam. I've been trying to contact them for 3 months now and have not received any information. I've had to now go through my bank in order to try to get in touch with them.
They are COMPLETE CROOKS.
Booked a room through them, they took my money, and never made the reservation with the hotel.

My mon lost a money we very annoying
I make mi reservation a week ago. Until today the hotel don't have any information about my reservation. We pay in advance more that 1k dollar. Tired of writing this page and they tell me I need waiting and waiting. I don't recommending at all this service
I have made a refundable reservation with them for an hotel in Lausanne (Confirmation number [protected] ). The next day I had to cancel for personal reasons. They called me to confirm cancellation and promised to refund my deposit. Ten days later, they do not reply to my e-mails and of course they have not refunded me.
These people are so bad they dont have proper customer service. And they say what we pay is all but at the end we pay more at the hotel. Cheating people. Don't ever use this site! And i was trying to call them they never responded! Such liars th y are!
