Attempting to collect debt reported charged off by lender. Harrassing phone calls without giving any business information or proof of debt. I was called by the same number repeatedly with no messages left. When I called back one day, the man I spoke to said he was attempting to collect a debt but would not identify himself, the company or give any information or provide any proof before asking for my personal identification information (including my social security number). I only recently received a letter from a so-called collections company claiming that they are attempting to collect this debt.

I have faithfully been making payments on my account each month as per agreement. Galaxy has sent me court papers without any prior communications regarding my loan account with their chosen law firm.

Unfair practices have been advised, and I've been warned that charges will be filed if I don't pay the debt. However, I am a victim of identity theft and have provided proof to the company, Galaxy International Purchasing, whose contact details include a redacted phone number and account number. The credit card in question was reportedly opened on 09/20 and was later closed with $1,277 written off. This item has appeared on my credit report, yet I did not open the account. Both my wife and I are victims of identity theft. Galaxy International has been calling me, advising that charges will be filed if I don't pay a debt that I did not initiate. I intend to file a complaint against Galaxy International for their actions.

How can charges be filed on a debt under these circumstances? Moreover, I was advised to pay over $3,000, which I consider to be extortion and a violation of my rights under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. These companies have been harassing me, inaccurately placing an item on my credit report, and threatening to file charges. I plan to file a complaint with the FTC, ComplaintsBoard.com, CFPB, and involve my attorney to file a lawsuit against Galaxy International if the item is not removed from my credit report immediately. I have also issued a cease and desist notice as I do not wish to be harassed by these companies, yet they have continued to contact me. I am requesting the immediate removal of the item from my credit bureau report.

I was guaranteed a removal of negative collection once paid in full and it has yet to be removed from my credit. Not even after this company failing to prove to me the debt was mine I still paid it so I can have the derogatory mark removed from my credit. I am trying to purchase a house for me and my son but this derogatory mark is hindering me from accomplishing that goal. This company handles their business very poorly and I don't recommend to any future consumers. This company does not keep their word and has been giving me the run around and I don't appreciate it. There are plenty of people that don't care about collections and to spite the company will wait the full 7 years so the collection can fall off but no I tried to do the right thing and I was given their butts to kiss and I don't appreciate it NOT ONE BIT! Please respond and resolve this issue by removing the collection from my credit. Being that it is paid.

I was told because of the Corona Virus Epidemic that our checks wouldn't be Garnished again until August or September! This company decided to Garnish my check anyway! Ok I don't who these people are not paying 762.72 to someone I never contacted at all or even borrowed this trying get out debt not in more so fix it Well I never asked for money from this company and I don't even know who they are I am trying to get out debt not put myself in debt and this is not on my credit report cuz I look at it all the time and this place not there so fix this ASAP please
