Gameforge review: Ikariam

Me and 18 other players have been unjustly banned recently due to the whims of a game operator with false charges for something he/she interpreted to justify such malicious action. A total of 201 account were banned from Ikariam, world Beta in Romania for multi-account charges, despite the "reason" being something like "pushing", or rather a very loose interpretation of the game rules and guidelines. We played the game normally, the same way we've been playing it for several years, and just because we were very well organized (we use a whats-app group to chat and plan) and almost never failed to participate in coordinated alliance-wide actions, we were all banned with all our accounts. We have proper ip-share treaties an never din any illegal actions. In fact the game itself prohibits any illegal actions.

Upon inquiries into our bans, most of us couldn't even create or access our support accounts and even after a successful ticket was submitted, the answers were either "automated" or vague after an unreasonable amount of wait time.

Escalation of the tickets is very difficult and a proper response is non existent.

The sad part is that some of us have invested money in the game and our accounts are now banned for pretty much invented reasons, using a banning reason that is false.

Also because of the nature of the situation, most of the players do not have the knowledge or financial means to pursue legal action against the company, but legal action will be necessary and very probable. In our perspective, the ban is equal to theft, due to the money invested in the games virtual currency that is mostly unused on some accounts.
