Overcharged
I accepted the Care Credit to pay my vet bill for my kitty and dog bill. At first it was very timely with my payments and Care Credit book keeping. Then, the book keeping began to turn very bad the closer I was to paying the total bill off.
For three years I have been battling with the increases in payments due to Care Credit saying in print and via telephone calls from them at all hours of the day/night any given day of the week that I have'nt made a payment. I went to the BBB of the Southland . And I received a phone call from a BBB in what the caller identified as being in Florida; saying 'you have paid-off Dr, Shinn's dental bill in full., I shouted good.
Then I started getting letters and phone calls. Someone from 'G E Money bank' stating You owe on acct no. and the animal vet account . Well; this acct. was down to $300 .Now They say, I owe Care Credit over $700.00! And, G E money bank $613.51... for both dental ans animal vet bills. The company's Care Credit and GE money bank are both addressed thus: PO Box 960061- Orlando, Florida. and it came-up as a hotel. not an office building. I am so tired of making payments on both bills, and the bill keeps going UP. I believe this is a fraudulent business.

Predatory Lending
AGREE WITH PREVIOUS POSTS 100%! GE Money Bank should be sued, shut down, whatever it takes, to get rid of them. I see that once again, I am not the only one.
My Paypal was in good standing, but they lowered my limit and right before the payment due date, so of course I got hit with a fee. And they charge interest on their fees. They did the same with my JC Penney card, which was also in good standing. They pulled stunts like this and others several years ago, when I had a loan for something else with them. It ended in a very unhappy way for both of us. They are the biggest lowlifes in the credit industry.
I had several store credit cards before I found out that they control most of the big retail store credit cards (NOT Macy's--that's a different one) and Paypal. We should close all of our accounts with them, since that's what they will do antway if we don't owe them anything on them and BOYCOTT ALL of their cards and services. Maybe the retailers we love will get the hint and use another company to take care of their credit cards. GE Money Bank needs to go down HARD!

I think I may be the victim of predatory lending practices by GE Money, but I don't know what to do about it. I am ashamed to admit it, but I know very little about money. When I got my GE Money Bank Card to purchase a ring, it seemed like I should only have to pay about 100/month and that I could remove the balance over time this way. But it turns out I somehow ended up with a 29% interest rate. Now I owe them a bunch of money, I have lost my job and apartment, and they keep calling me for the money. I don't know what to do.
they "slashed" your credit line because you defaulted on other credit cards. its not GEmoney bank's fault you have bad credit!
quit blaming other people for your own faults!
WOW! I thought it was just me. Thanks for the warning. I'm sure they are coming after my JC Penney account next after slashing my Lowe's and PayPal accounts. They are the worst and how dare they start off the letters with "Thanks for being a good customer, we appreciate your business" when it is so obvious that that they don't!
Credit Card Lowered limits and closures
I received notice from Sams Club Discover (GE MONEY BANK) that they were lowering my limit from $4500 to $140. (I owed about $100.) I immediately paid the balance off. I then received a letter that they were closing the account. The reasons for lowering the limit and closing the account were "Months since last delinquency" found upon reviewing my credit report. I had just ordered a copy of my credit report, and have NO LATE PAYMENTS EVER.
I just received a letter from JC Penney (GE MONEY BANK) has lowered my limit from $500 to $100. I owed them a balance of $47. The reason again was "Months since last delinquiency". I have good credit, and have never paid them or anyone else late. I called the # and asked why they did this, and they told me to get a copy of my credit report. I have a copy in hand, as I am trying to buy a home. There are no late payments or anything negative on my report. This is an unfair business practice, and stupid. I have been a good customer, and am not a bad risk. Shame on them.

I wish I would have read these reviews before getting this card! I received a JCPenny credit card with a $700 credit limit. Today I paid off a large amount and the limit was reduced down to $130. What a joke. I am in the process of refinancing my car to a lower interest rate. I hope this won’t hurt my chances. Had I known, I would have put off paying off this card in full, while using my funds for more Christmas shopping this season. Haven't been screwed by JCPenny's credit card yet? Wait for it. Enjoy trying to work with their slurring, nonchalant workers, and their vocal fry. Easy to apply and get approved, but good luck to your credit! All the fakes standing up for JCPenny are probably employees themselves. They need to be sued!
Like everyone else, I have had the same thing happen. I had a $2500 credit limit with GE and JC Penney. I have had them for 5 years now. After each large payment they have significantly reduced my credit limit to where now my combined limit with what I owe is a little over $200.00 WTH! I knew after I made the last large payment to get my balance down, they would do this. This is the third time! Only this time, I paid it nearly off. You would think that after 5 years it would go up! No my credit isn't perfect (who's is these days?) but they have always been paid! So, today, I will close them out. To say goodbye to JC Penney wouldn't exactly be fair. They have really great deals. But GE... good riddance! I will never do business with them again. There are plenty of companies, should I choose to go in debt that will be happy with my business.
I also received a letter today from GE letting me know they were reducing my line of credit on my JC Penny’s account because of some bogus delinquent accounts and some public record crap they said was on my credit report. This is totally false as I also just refinanced my house and have my credit report in my hand (all three bureaus) and there is nothing on there that they are claiming. Also, never been late and recently I have been working on paying off all my credit cards and theirs was one that I paid half of it off all at once and planned on paying the remaining balance soon, also I just paid GE off when I refinanced my house as they were the 2nd mortgage holder. I think they are mad that I am paying off JC Penny card versus paying the minimum amount so they can rape me for years to come along with my second mortgage……. I
have had it with JC Penny and GE; I hope JC Penny is happy that they are
driving away customers. Goodbye JC Penny and GE! And good riddance
I bought a "Sleep Number" bed, that GE Money Bank financed. I was never late with a payment, and paid off the balance (approximately $1800.00) within a few months. I had a credit line of $5, 000. Several months later, GE sent me the same BS letter as the other frustrated customers, lowered my credit line, then eventually closed my account that had a 0.00 balance! ( Maybe I was punished for not purchasing another bed?) ... I used to shop at JCPenneys pretty frequently, until this past year. I prefer Nordstrom. My credit line used to be $3500.00 with JCP, and I was never late with payments, always paying above the minimum due. Well, since GE took over their financing, guess what? Yes, I received a similar, degenerate letter. GE Money Bank is completely unprofessional and unscrupulous, and my advice to anyone who comes across this company, is to AVOID them AT ALL COSTS. They will screw you. I will be paying off my JCP balance in full, and then cutting up that crappy card. As long as JCPenneys continues to do business with GE Money Bank, they will lose a lot of business. What a shame...
GE Money calls me several times a day about the JC Penney account of a woman I've never heard of. Several times, I've explained this to them, and they promise to take my number off their list, but the calls keep coming. I've also explained that since I don't have a GE Money or JC Penney account, and am on the National Do Not Call List, their calls violate the law. They don't seem to care. At this point, I'm so disgusted that not only will I never do business with GE Money or a JC Penney card, I won't set foot in Penney's again.
You are a GEMB shill, aren't you?
They did the same damned thing to me and me credit report is damn near perfect! The only "ding" is that I probably have too many open accounts (because I tend to respond to marketing pressure---from people like THEM!)---and my usage is over 75% on a lot of them. Big deal! I have never had a problem making my payments on time, and I have NEVER missed or been late with a payment for JC Penney. But based on some flaky program they said "scored" me they have lowered my limit down to my existing balance. As the commenter above noted, this is really stupid, as all it will do is alienate existing customers. Duh! I read on another site that their single store sales are down almost 8%. This kind of action certainly won't help.
i dont agree with it that if the credit report is saying that ur delq. to ge money they have to go by that if its not showing on ur credit reprot then u need get it fixed through the credit report and then im sure they will adjust ur line to what they fix on it any company can only go by what they are told so there for becareful cause if they are telling ge that then they will tell ur other credit cards adn they will all start to get lowered
your credit lines are being reduced due to delinquency found in your equifax credit report. if you try to tell me you've "never been delinquent on anything" i know your lying.
cardholders are still getting credit line increases, customers are still getting approved for new accounts, GEMB is not doing anything illegal.
if you told a friend (we will call him james) you would let them borrow a thousand dollars and one of your other friends informed you that when james borrowed money from them he never paid it back, would you still let james borrow a thousand dollars? absolutely not!
why are you blaming GEMB for your own poor credit? take care of your bills and be a responsible borrower and maybe you would be here giving us the "woest me" because the other shoe finally dropped.
@the OP-- its not just delinquency that afffects your credit score, when you bought that new house with your "perfect credit" (liar) your debt to credit ratio shot through the roof.
to be quite honest im tired of hearing this from everyone, take responsibility for your own actions and quit yer bi+chin!
I've already had GE lower the limits on 2 of my cards - the first one was a Old Navy card, and I never used it so I didn't care. The second one was a Walmart card. That one p&ssed me off and I called them over it. I told them that I knew for a fact my credit score was better at the time they lowered my limit than when they gave me the card in the first place. I also reminded them I had NEVER went over my limit and had ALWAYS paid more than the minimum due each month. As a matter of fact they lowered my limits right after I paid each card off. So I told them to shove the Walmart card. Then today I get a letter saying their cutting the limit on my JC Penney's card. I wouldn't care except this is pushing my available credit vs debt ratio sky high! I thought the government was supposed to step in and do something to stop the credit card companies from screwing consumers...I guess that will happen when pigs fly
Credit Fraud Waste and Abuse
Don't ever shop at Daniel's Jewelers. Don't ever sign up for GE Money credit. If you do ... you'll be sorry.
I purchased wedding rings for my fiance and myself at Daniel's Jewelers.
That's when the problem started.
Daniel's sells their credit to a collection company called GE Money. I was told there was nothing to pay for 90 days. I was not alarmed when no bills arrived at my home. I even stopped by another store to purchase more jewelry.
A little over a month after my purchase I noticed my credit score dropped about 20 points. It took several weeks to find out why. GE Money ran my credit about 3 times and thought it would a good idea to mail my bills and credit card to my x-wife's house since that showed up on the credit inquiries.
So ... GE Money registered a late payment when my x-wife didn't pay my jewelry bill and GE Money gave my x-wife a credit card in my name.
It never seems to have occurred to anyone at GE Money or Daniel's Jewelers to use the address I actually wrote on the credit application. The idea never dawned on anyone to even compare my application to the billing statement when the bills were not paid.
You would think a jewelry store that sells wedding rings to people over 50 years old would realize that person might be divorced, but that idea would never occur to someone with the IQ of a fence post.
I'm finishing up remodeling work on my condo so my fiance and myself will have a nice place to stay and I submitted applications for credit to help with the cost. All were turned down.
It is not humanly possible to f**k up worse than this.

Ge money charge late fee $130. I dont' even know that company because I took cordblood for my son and they redirect to them. Now they charge $890 and certainly close my old account. I am afraid and paid off $2100 but ge money did not close my account and they sill charge $40.
I don't know where to complain.
they call 8-10 times a day and never leave messages. They use several different phone numbers to trick you. I don't answer "Unknown" calls because of political phone calls, so if I don't answer my home phone, they call my cell phone within seconds.
I get a call from this company about once a week stating that I have missed a payment. I called the lender directly with the number on the back of the credit card. According to them I am up to date with my payments.
They apparently bought out Citi Bank's active Ashley Furniture Accounts. They sent me a new card to activate and said I never closed my account with Citi which I did back in October of 2010. So now this card is costing me 2x against my credit score for an account I didn't want or ask for with GE Money.
Phone call from [protected] the automated voice gives you a list of options to push the voices says my name incorrectly, the first time I hung up. The second time I waited to speak to an actual person who also said my name wrong, they asked for the last 4 digits of my SSN which I refused to give because of my name being wrong and the fact I do not have a GE Money account. Not sure if this is a scam or not but it appears it could be.
Bunch of robbers. I took a loan from them in Year 2003. Paid it off in 2005. They started calling me for last 1 week saying i owe them a petty amount of 4000. My EMI was 2663 and according to them my 2 checques were returned. How are they even calculating this amount. And y were they quite for 5 years if cheques were returned. I really want to go to consumer court.
I SEND TWO MONEY ORDERS IN THE SAME ENVELOPE. ONE FOR $500.00, AND THE SECOND ONE WAS FOR $200.00. ONLY ONE MONEY ORDER WAS RECEIVED ON APRIL 1, 2009. IT IS UNBELIEVABLE, IMPOSSIBLE, AND INCREDIBLE THAT GE MONEY RECEIVED ONLY ONE MONEY ORDER. GE MONEY IS CHARGING ME STILL $500.00 DOLLARS. WHERE IS THE $500.00 DOLLAR MONEY ORDER IF IT WAS IN THE SAME ENVELOPE. HOW CAN THIS BE, I DON'T UNDERSTAND.
If your Company doesn't stop calling [protected] a dozen times a day, we will sue you for harassment!

Beware GE Money ! These crooks will issue a credit card with due
date on FIRST, then mail invoice on LAST day of month, so you can't
pay on time - THEN hit you for "Late Fees"
These Jokers are CROOKS !
BEWARE G.E. Credit! - STAY AWAY !
I am very upset and extremely angry that my credit limit was reduce without my knowledge. Been a loyal customer 6 years and without notice had my reduced by 2500.00 of which I was to use on vacation and to help out household bills because of the seasonal job that I have in construction. Every winter I have to use my credit cards to get thru the winter until next year. I would like to know where I can file a complaint.
Unauthorized bank withdrawals
I have an auto loan with GE Money Bank. In November 2008 I authourized a payment for $405.00. Well, the next day they took out another $415.00 out of my checking account since they now have my account information. Not only that they attempted to take out $229.00 a few days later and another $229.00 two days after that. Ofcourse by then my bank account was raped and caused over $275.00 in NSF fees. I called several times and faxed them the information that they requested. Here it is mid January 2009 and have not had this issue solved by them. On top of that they still call me and state that I am late on my payments! I suckered in and made another payment to stop the computerized harassing phone calls. I spoke to the collections manager Caleb Hanger and told me that they were looking into the unauthorized withdrawals. Again it is now over two month's later. I got Caleb Hangers direct number from an employee and call him everyday regarding my situation. I leave him messages because he either is never in the office or totally disregarding my phone calls.
It appears that it is O.K. for them to get away with taking money out of your account without authorization which to me is illegal and don't even care about following up on THEIR customers complaint. What is a person do when this occurs? My next step is to get lawyers involved. I have already filed a [redacted] and going to call the Better Business Beurau. Dont deal with this finance company! Just google GE money bank ripp off and see all of the others that are in a similar situation!

The more consumers that can access reliable information in a timely manner to better
Consumers should be able to research finance companies first before making a decision to apply for a finance product.
If consumers can see that GE Money products have distinct disadvantages, that the customer service is poor, the interest rates higher, and the debt collection process is very aggressive and damaging for the consumer it is more likely that consumers will not take up GE Money products.
Loss of business for GE Money and lower profits will really make an impact against GE Money

They have done same thing to me. I sent a letter(major complaint) to the Atty. General's office. They don't handle these types of cases, but was forwarding my letter onto the right department. We have now owe more on this item almost 3 yrs later than what I paid for it!
I also was just ripped off by GE money. they not only took 302.00 they put it on a check number that i don't even have. I called and they say I authorized it, but here is the catch, the day they say this happened I was in the emergency room all day with my mother. I incurred over 120.00 in bounced check charges from there dipping into my bank account. The jerk on the phone even said to me that that would be illegal for us to take without authorization. I asked to hear the recording they say they have and was told we don't let anyone hear them. Yea, right... how can they if it doesn't exist. I told him they do not have my permission to take funds out of my account ever again. But, I don't think they care. I think they will try it again. MY mistake was making one payment over the phone with this criminal company. I spoke with my bank and need to put in a affidavit of fraud. They are going to take back my money from GE, refund the bounced check charges. MY saving grace is they picked a check number i don't have. On a day I have proof I was not home to answer there phone call. I now need to close out my account and open a new one. ( to insure it never happens again.) My banks advise is that never pay with a check over the phone. If you need to, Pay online or use your mac and you can always get a new card rather than deal with closing an account and opening a new one. Small consolation now. If there is a class action suit, , count me in.!
After falling behind on ONE payment of approx. $25, GE Money began calling me upwards to 10 times a day. I finally spoke with them and explained my current situation; they seemed recptive and even "reversed" the late fee. I pre-authorized a payment for August 7, 2009, only to find out they took it out on August 4 instead. Not only did this cost me $70 in NSF charges, but they charged my another late fee AND a $10 fee for a "phone payment."
I spoke with them today and explained that this whole ordeal has just cost me $120 in unneccessary charges, and that I wanted my $70 back, the late charge reversed, and also expect reimbursement for the $10 phone payment fee, that I was never told about.
I was told that the manager was going to "review" my phone call and determine whether or not I truly did request the payment to be on the 7th, and to call back NEXT WEEK!
For God's sake, I could have went online myself and made the payment for FREE. This is just crazy! Fortunately, my bank (who said they have heard of several similar situations with GE Money) graciously agreed to reverse ONE of the overdraft charges for me.
I can't imagine that GE MONEY will admit their wrong doing, even if they do bother to "review" my phone call.
I think a class action is in order as well. I authorized them to take $86 out of my account. My minimum is $73. I was not behind in my bill. They are stating that I authorized them to take the "minimum payment due" from a prior statement where I had made a payment since the statement and before setting up auto-pay. With auto-pay I selected "other amount". They took out $163 rather than the specified $86, and I was charged $22 NSF by my bank.
They have come up with every excuse under the sun to claim that they did no err.
We need to find a good attorney as I am quite sure there are LOTS of us out there with the same gripe.
I will be filing a complaint within my state of Montana.
i think everyone shouild get together and file a class action lawsuit against them i'm overdrawn by 2500.00 because of them there thieves
Payment not honored
I made a payment on tuesday January 13th of $800 to my consumer HHGREGG CC, which is managed by GE Money BANK, and the money has been deducted from my checking account, but still today January 16th, the available balance has not been updated. I called the customer service and this rep, Michelle, who I think needs to learn better English, stated that unfortunately the payment has been received but available balance not ready yet. Then I asked for a supervisor, and after 20 min wait, she said that funds some times take several days because of banking transfers...HELLLOOOOOO, we are in the 21st century! Is the money traveling in a car pulled by donkeys?
This is the worst bank experience I ever had, but no one can do anything against them, it is a real shame.

Poor Customer Service about our Dispute
Poor Customer Service from GE Money Bank,
We opt for Tweeters 0% interest for 12 months and ended up with GE Money Bank for the Credit Card. Tweeter has since claimed bankruptcy. We purchased our TV on Sept 10, 2008 and opt for a extended warranty for 5 years for 374.49 (including tax) which we NEVER Do... When Tweeter filed bankruptcy they were paid from GE Money Bank for the Extended Warranty but Tweeter did not bother to pay Service Net. We had called and found out they quit doing business with Tweeter August 14, 2008. Sooooooo on our credit card we have a charge and put into dispute. Everytime we call we are given a different answer on how long the dispute will take. Today 1/14/2009 talked to Jose and I asked to talk to his supervisor and was told that was not possible and he hung up on me.
I do not understand what is so difficult about this dispute. Its a credit card and the company did not pay the 3rd party Service Net. I guess I am used to dealing with American Express. They are fantastic and customer service is fantastic also.
Does anyone have any ideas or someone else I can Contact?
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
According to this release Service Net is honoring the warranty whether or not purchased before the contract ended.
http://www.ct.gov/dcp/cwp/view.asp?Q=432040&A=3618
Amajon, Your extended warranty purchased at Tweeter should still be valid. ServiceNet has stated that they will honor these warranties. I would suggest contacting ServiceNet about your extended warranty.
Payment options
I had quite a bit of dental work done last year. In my dentist office, I see the Care Credit information that will allow you charge your dental work to the credit card using the promotional purchase that is no interest for a period of time, which is normally 12 months. So, I received the credit and put my dental work on the card. I tried to pay it off before the promotional purchase offer expired but was not able to pay the entire balance.
Needless to say, I did not want the huge amount of accrued finance charges to be added to my balance. I called GE Money to pay the balance using another credit card just to discover that they only accept payments by check. You can’t even use a debit card to make your payments to this company. And, my credit card was not offering balance transfers at this time.
Well, now I’m stuck with that huge finance charge that will be added to my balance.
So, what type of Credit Card Company or any other type of company would only allow payments via check. It’s the credit card companies that know that there is a likely possibly that you will not be able to pay the entire balance by end of a promotional period. Therefore, more money in their pocket due to additional finance charges.
Beware of using Care Credit. It certainly helped me in the short term, but I got screwed in the long term.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
We recived credit for dental work. This company was referred to us through our dentist. Since paying on time for quite some time, they all of a sudden raised out finance charges to $432.00 I have just contacted the State Attorney General's office and am seeking to find a class action suite against them. I have found many others through this complaint board and would like to have all of them also contact their attorney general. Thank you
Bajaskier, what ended up happening?
Good for you. If you bothered to read your terms and conditions, they can raise the rate at any time. You agreed to the terms when you signed up.
All the credit card companies are jacking up rates before the new credit card law takes effect in February.
Billing cycle changes
I paid over half down on a total of $3000 with Lasik Vision located off 28th street in Grand Rapids MI
The remainder was financed through an offer with GE Money Bank for 18 months same as cash with a minimum monthly payment. My first payment was set up with a due date of 12-5-07. I then set up the payments on my bill pay for the year to be paid on or before the 5th of each month. Midway through the year my payment schedule was changed for no reason. My account started accruing interest on top of a 40.00 late fee for five months before I caught the scam. They refused to work with my despite offering to pay the balance in full if they were willing to erase some of the late charges. No deal! They were rude and a gal by the name of Shantel, actually hung up on me! I will never do business with these people again and I sincerely hope the company goes under. We will be contacting the Lasik Center and advise that they switch to another financer in the future. I was paying more in finance and late fees than my payment covered!

Agree completely, worst customer service and shady billing practices.
WILL NOT CHANGE payment date
I have been a good paying customer. I faithfully make a payment each month and even pay more than the required amount due in-order to pay the account off faster. The problem is, the date due is BEFORE I get my unemployment check. Therefore, it does not matter how much money I send it is being eatten up by a $39.00 late fee and an larger finance charge added to the account each month. I have written to the El Paso, TX., office -no reply! I called CS today (1/2/09) and was told that there is no way they can change the due date in the system. That is VERY strange! All companies I deal with can do that -- so now we know HOW --- GE is making all their money off us poor souls who needed to purchase something with a credit card and we are being punished for it! -- CS told me make a payment on-line, then send another payment after the 12th of the month and that will get posted early for the next month. I'll actually be ahead according to CS. ----- I'll give it a try just to see if this will help save me money.

i agree. ge money bank wont do anything to help their customers. all they do is hang up on you or disconnect you when you call customer service and if you ask them to help you in any way you can just forget about it. all they do is add fee on top of fee, over and over again. i will NEVER do business with them again, as soon as i finish paying this card off i will run the other way as fast as i can if i hear their name
I called them in Dec 2008 to request a change for the due date or statement date. Right now it falls outside of when I pay every other bill I have because it is due at the end of the month. I was told the same thing - thye are unable to change the date.
Interestingly, in Jan 2009 I got my bill on 1/22 with a due date of 1/28 but their statement date was 1/5. So their bill took 17 days to reach me but I had 6 days to pay them. I pay online so there's no problem. But I can see where this is going.
I will cancel my World Market card after I earn my next reward. No sense getting caught by late fees.
I'm experiencing the exact same type of issue right now with my Paypal credit card, issued through GE moneybank. My payment has always fallen after the first, so payment has never been a problem. All of a sudden my due date moves to the 27th, after I've already made a payment on the 1st... meaning I would have two payments in one month (which I can't afford on disability) OR skip a payment, which I had to do, and now they want an ungodly minimum payment with late fees and such which I can't afford either. I called and was told they can't change the due date, and I'd have to write the corporate office. I refuse to correspond via postal mail, it's just not intelligent business on the part of the consumer. I'll be calling them again soon to let them know that if I can't deal with someone in authority personally, I will no longer make payments and they'll be free to play the collections game all they want.
fraud charges
I was approved for a loan in Nov. 2008 in the amount of $4, 900.00 for medical purposes. I did not wish to use this loan and phoned them Dec. 18, 2008 to cancel and close this account which I did not use or receive any service or money on this. I received a letter stating the account was cancelled but I have a balance of $400.00 which they expect me to pay. I will not pay this scam for which the only service they performed was approving a loan for about a month. The company is listed in El Paso, Tx. but the bill comes from Orlando, Fl.

DO NOT PAY THEM ! IT IS A SCAM!
First:

For some reason, GE listens to them.
Now read the following and you discover why you should avoid them at all costs!
Go to www.complaintsboard.com. Do a search on CareCredit, GEMB of GE Moneybank. You will notice they have a running scam.
1) Their offer is for interest free financing if the balance is paid in full after x-months, usually 18-24.
2) No matter if you mail in your payments, have autopay from your charge card, or direct debit from your bank account, GE will ALWAYS claim they did not receive your payment, or received your payment late. Why? Then they can add late charges! And of course, your last payment is always lost, therefore “you did not pay-off your balance in the predetermined time frame”. Then they try to collect a huge interest payment effective from the inception date.
3) You cannot contact the company via e-mail; they ignore e-mail.
4) You cannot get a response via snail mail; they ignore your letters.
5) If you are willing to sit on hold for 45-60 minutes, and punch in your account number countless times, you may be able to reach a person with a pulse. In most cases, the employees speak/understand English, but are not overly bright.
6) Said person will claim your payment was not received, or received late.
In my case, I had electronic records of every payment. I also paid extra every month. When asked that I provide the proof, I faxed copies of the electronic transaction records as well as e-mailed same. Of course, they "never received it" despite the fact that I was holding the FAX confirmation in my hand and looking at the e-mail receipt.
Advice:
1) If you have entered a contract with these scammers, beg, borrow or steal whatever
amount of money you owe them. DO NOT PAY INTEREST OR LATE FEES (unless
you actually were late). Send a CERTIFIED CHECK, RETURN RECEIPT
REQUESTED FOR THE AMOUNT YOU CHARGED less any payments already
made. Write your account # and “Paid in Full” on the check.
2) If you did direct debit or credit card payments, close the bank account or cancel the
credit card IMMEDIATELY AFTER the check has cleared or the withdrawal is
posted. They tend to post charge card debits almost immediately.
3) Save all your evidence should they threaten to come after you. However, they won't
because they would lose; I am telling you from experience. I threatened them with
court and was refunded all interest and late fees.
4) Check for class-action suits in your area; there are many going on nationwide.
Here is a letter another gentlemen sent to CareCredit/GE MoneyBank:
To Whom It May Concern:
The purpose of this letter is to file a formal notification of complaint alleging numerous violations of the Consumer Credit Protection Act (15 U.S.C. 1601) on the part of CareCredit, in that CareCredit, aka GE Capital Cons Cardco aka GE Capital Consumer Card Company. GE Capital Consumer Card Co. is a ""creditor"" by definition of 15 U.S.C. 1601-§103-f (Consumer Credit Protection Act) and therefore falls under the federal jurisdiction of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC). GE Capital Consumer Card Co. has knowingly and illegally: - made a promotional offer of ""interest-free"" or ""deferred interest"" which, by its actions as enumerated below, it had or has no intentions of fulfilling, said offer falling within the definition of Section 226.2 of CCPA.
- levied late fees and finance charges when payments were actually received - and deducted from my bank account - PRIOR to the due date, - charged illegal and exorbitant ""account security"" fees without any form of legal disclosure or explanation as to what those charges may be, constituting a ""surcharge"" under sections 103 and section 167 of the Consumer Credit Protection Act (15 U.S.C. 1601), hereinafter referred to as CCPA. - has instituted retroactive ""terms and conditions"" without proper notification, in violation of § 226.7 of the CCPA. - has provided such ""terms and conditions"" in a format that appears to be a third- or fourth-generation unreadable photocopy consisting of print so small and faded as to be illegible, in violation of § 226.5.
- has made it virtually impossible for customers (clients) to contact them in a timely manner by failing and/or refusing to answer telephone calls for periods of up to 7.5 hours (by placing the customer on hold for such lengths of time) and by failing and/or refusing to provide any means on its web site of contacting CareCredit by email or any other means than an unanswered telephone line. - has acted to quash any meaningful payment inquiries by refusing to provide requested information to the bank upon which payments were drawn, in addition to failing to provide telephone-answering staff as alleged above. DETAILS: Application for the above-referenced account was made under a ""promotional offer"" (Exhibit A - promotional offer), which provided for no interest if the account was paid in full within 48 months.
This agreement was for the issuance of a ""medical credit card"" issued by GE Capital Consumer Card Co, 5300 Kings Island Drive, Mason, OH 45050, to cover dental (oral surgery) expenses in excess of that which were to be paid by the payee's dental insurance. The debt agreed upon was to be $1, 500.00. The first payment was due September 4, 2004 (Exhibit B - statement of payment due).
Payment was received via electronic funds transfer on September 2, 3004 and was deducted from the payee's bank account prior to 2 pm the following business day, September 3, 2004 (Exhibit C - email from USBank, formerly and aka Firstar Bank). The minimum payment on the above account is $45 per month. The defendant states that ""payment is due by 5 pm on the due date"" to ""avoid additional finance charges."" Payment was received and cleared well before that time.
Electronic funds transfer payments through USBank is guaranteed to arrive on the date specificied. This form of payment was chosen specifically to ensure timely receipt of payment, since US Postal Service delivery to and from payee's address is often very unreliable. In four years, I have had no problem with electronic funds transfers reaching their destination late.
The payee then received on Sept. 13, 2004 a ""late notice"" (which bore no postmark and was, in fact, bulk mailed - Exhibits D-1 and D-2 - envelope and late payment notice) claiming that no payment had been received, when in fact, it had. In addition, the payee was informed that a late fee of $35.00 and an ""account security fee"" of $23.25 had been charged additionally. In a document received Sept. 13, 2004, after the contract was entered into, labelled ""Account Security Debt Cancellation Agreement"" (Exhibit E), there is no mention whatsoever of any ""account security fee"".
Payee contends that this ""account security fee"" constitutes a hidden and therefore unlawful interest or finance charge, in violation of federal law. On that date, Sept. 13, 2004, payee attempted to call the phone number provided [protected]) and was informed by a voice recording that ""due to a high volume of calls"" there would be ""a lengthy wait time"". Payee kept the line open and was on hold for 3 hours 47 minutes before finally giving up, unable to speak to single human being during that time.
Additionally, the payee contacted the bank (Exhibit F - email) to notify them of the allegation by GE Capital Cons Cardo that no payment had been received, even though existing bank records clearly documented otherwise. USBank aka Firstar Bank responded to the payee on Sept. 14. 2004 (Exhibit G - email) that it was investigating the matter, then followed up with another communication - also Sept. 14, 2004 (Exhibit H - email) that ""GE Capital Cons Cardco will not discuss customer accounts with third parties"" and suggested that the payee call [protected] - the same phone number which GE Capital Cons Cardo will not answer.
An additional payment of $55.00 was made by the payee and received September 17, 2004 and deducted from the payee's bank account on Sept. 18, 2004 for the payment of $45.00 due October 4, 2004. No statement was received for a November payment, due Nov. 4, 2004; however electronic payment was made and received Sept. 29, 2004 in the amount of $100.00 (Exhibit I - details of USBank transaction printout), even though the payment due was $45.00. For the December payment, due Dec. 4, 2004, an electronic funds transfer in the amount of $100.00 was scheduled to be received Nov. 18, 2004, though the amount due was $45.00.
On November 12, 2004, payee received a statement from GE Capital Cons Cardco (Exhibit G - statement) claiming no payment was received for October and that a late fee of $35.00 had been assessed, as well as a ""finance charge"" of $106.64 and an ""account security fee"" of $22.38. The payee was also informed that the ""promotional offer"" had expired on an unstated expiration date, in violation of the agreement made and the promotional offer (Exhibit A). Also on November 12, 2004, the payee again attempted to call both toll-free numbers provided and was informed by a recorded message that ""due to a large volume of calls"" there would be a ""long wait time."" After 2 hours and 17 minutes, the payee again gave up, and on November 13, 2004, sent this document with a certified letter to the defendant.
In summary, payee has so far paid $400 on a $1, 500.00 debt and is informed the balance is $1, 563.13. All payments have been made and received before the due date. The payee asks for full restitution of the unlawful and exorbitant fees in the amount of $463.13 charged by GE Capital Cons Cardco, as well as all attorney fees and costs pursuant to this matter, and for full reinstatement of the ""promotional offer"" terms which were, and are, part and parcel of the agreement between the payee and GE Capital Cons Cardco.
The payee hereby notifies you, under the requirements of the Consumer Credit Protection Act. [15 U.S.C. 1601], that the aforesaid charges of $463.13 are contested for the reasons outlined above and that no such charges will be paid in the future. Payments will be made to repay the original amount of $1500, as contracted, in the time length necessary to avoid interest fees, per your ""promotional offer."" It is my intent to file legal action - as a class action suit if possible - and to seek full restitution and double damages as provided for in the Consumer Credit Protection Act
Opt out letters
Are you kidding me? When are the credit card companies going to start acting more responsible and honest about their practices? I recently got an opt out letter in the mail on December 30th saying that the interest rate would be raised on Jan 1st. Give your customers time to send the opt out back. Didn't we just give you 1 billion in bail out money? Why must the financial companies be so greedy and dishonest? Just keep on punishing the customers that pay the bills on time.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
I am sure that the board of directors of these companies are interlocking; but can't find any listing without paying for them. One would think that GE Money, Citi, and other card companies would fall under the RICO laws gangland style loansharking. The only way to stop them is to not use them. I too, have had a Lowes card for years and received the same type notice. I told them to close the card and mark my account "closed by consumer due to perceived unfair credit practices" . Lowes wins by getting their money up front for the short term; however, if enough people complain to Lowes store managers who know how much you purchase there, perhaps they will spread the word up. Stores like Lowes, Sears (already paying the price) will suffer in the long haul.
You are better off without them. Here is why:

PAYMENT SCAMS
I HAD THE LOWES CREDIT CARD. I MADE MY FIRST PAYMENT THROUGH SOME CRAZY PAY THING ONLINE. TO MAKE THINGS EASIER FOR ME, I STARTED PAYING DIRECTLY FROM MY BANK ACCOUNT THAT I HAVE HAD FOR OVER 10 YEARS. I MADE 2 PAYMENTS IN OCT ($30) ($30), 1 IN NOV ($60). I WAS GETTING CALLS SAYING MY BILL WAS NOT PAID, HOWEVER, THE MONEY LEFT MY BANK AND WENT SOMEWHERE. GE MONEY CLAIMED TO NOT HAVE THE MONEY AND HAD NO IDEA WHERE IT WAS, BUT IT WAS NOT IN MY BANK ACCT. MY BANK GOT INVOLVED AND WE CONVERSED MANY TIMES WITH GE MONEY TO TRY TO FIND OUT WHERE MY PAYMENTS WHERE. FINALLY, THE INFORMATION CAME BACK. I HAVE A RTG CARD, THAT I OWE $0 MONEY TO. NOT KNOWING GE MONEY BANK OWNS (LOWES AND RTG), GE MONEY PUT THE MONEY ON MY RTG ACCT AND CLAIMED THEY HAD NO IDEA HOW THIS HAPPENED. THEY TRIED TO PUSH IT ON ME SAYING MAYBE I PUT THE WRONG INFORMATION IN MY BANK. IMPOSSIBLE, THE INFO CAME STRAIGHT OFF OF A BILL I GOT FROM LOWES THAT HAS NO INFO ABOUT MY RTG ACCT AND I OWED $0 TO THEM-NO WAY. THE MONEY WAS THEN TAKEN OFF OF THE RTG CARD AND SUPPOSEDLY PUT ON MY LOWES ACCT. IT SHOWS ON THE RTG ACCT THAT THE MONEY WAS TAKEN OFF, BUT LOWES CLAIMS THEY ONLY GOT $90 AND THEY CLOSED MY ACCT AFTER I SPOKE WITH A CUSTOMER SERVICE REP WHO SAID MY ACCT WAS FINE, ALL CHARGES WERE TAKEN OFF, LATE FEES, OVER DRAFT-EVERYTHING. SHE EVEN SOLD ME CARD PROTECTION AND I GOT THE PAPERWORK IN THE MAIL. I MADE ANOTHER PAYMENT ($30) FROM MY BANK ACCT, BEFORE I KNEW ALL WAS WELL AND THERE WAS NO MORE PROBLEMS. LAST WEEK, I WENT TO LOWES TO PURCHASE A FEW THINGS AND MY CARD WAS DECLINED! $0 BALANCE $0 CREDIT-------GE MONEY BANK CLOSED MY ACCT TO COVER THEIR WRONG DOING AND I STILL HAVE MONEY MISSING ($30) THEY CLAIM TO NOT HAVE. THE CUSTOMER SERVICE REP WENT TO GET HER SUPERVISOR BUT HE NEVER GOT ON THE PHONE, SHE SAID ISSUES ON MY CREDIT, WHICH IS THE SAME THINGS ON MY CREDIT WHEN I APPLIED FOR THE LOWES CARD, WHICH TO ME IS A BUNCH OF BULL. THEY SCAMED ME AND TO COVER THEIR BUTTS, THEY CLOSED MY LOWES ACCT WHICH IS UNDER $500, BUT MY OTHER ACCT IS WELL OVER THAT. NOW WHO IS BEING SCAMED?
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
they get away with it because people keep funding them don't you get it... don't pay and take it to the news media instead there are not enough reports being made here but get it out in the news media and see what happens...here is peer to peer
I received a letter today that our Lowe's card had been closed. We have been Lowe's customers for years and always paid off our balances well ahead of time. It's not like we need to use the card all of the time, but I guess if you don't carry a balance, you're not valuable to them.
Our credit report will reflect that the account was closed by the guarantor which will impact it negatively, even though we were never deliquent. This is a travesty. It's difficult enough to maintain a good credit score with the current economic climate, then when companies like this piece of resort to tactics like this, consumers are being punished for GOOD payment practices. Of course, we're at their mercy and there's absolutely nothing we can do about it.
Word of advice to all consumers...do not do business with stores using GE Money Bank as their guarantor for credit accounts. You will ultimately wind up regretting it if you do. If you are doing business with them, pay off your accounts and close them before they have a chance to close them for you. Your credit score will take a hit, but not as badly as when they close them.

I ordered the cd for $2.95 and come to find out the ###-HOLES took almost a hundred dollars out of my account not with my permission they just took it. I am 61 and disabled and would like to eat human food not dog food which is about all I can afford now.
When I signed up for this grant cd I was charged $2.95, when I got to my bank I found out they had charged me $95.00. I am 61 and on disability, so I can not afford someone coming in and taking nearly a hundred dollars out of my account. I have to eat too.
I got a card last April with Lowe's for 500.00..didn't even use it until June when my refridgerator went out...I went with a 6 month no payment, no interest charges...in January I paid 51.00 on the account as it was actually the first payment due...then in Feb..I paid the entire balance off which was around 500.00...So I go online today, and find that yes...it was clear...I paid the balance off...but it said NO available credit...So I am wondering...WOW...I was never late...paid on time..and even paid the account off...I thought it was just a computer glitch or something...so I called and they said GE MONEY reviewed my account and decided I was not credit worthy...LOL..I thought..I pay my entire bill off and they think I am not credit worthy...what are they looking for..people who don't pay their bills off? Personally I was offended...I am not just some kid here playing with credit..I am from the old school...where integrity matters...I am 62 years old. Anyway...HOME DEPOT has been more than generous to me on the credit line...so I guess I will take all my business to them...Any comments if you have had a similar situation happen to you...I would appreciate.
OH MY GOD!GE MONEY BANK CLOSED MY ACCOUNT AFTER I HAVE BEEN A CUSTOMER FOR 11 YEARS AT LOWES. I HAVE NEVER BEEN LATE AND I PAID THE ACCOUNT OFF. WITH A CREDIT LIMIT OF $1200. I WENT TO THE STORE TODAY TO BUY A FEW THINGS AND MY CARD WAS DECLINED. I CALLED GE MONEY BANK FROM THE STORE AND THE REP SAID THERE WAS NO EXPLAINATION. IT WAS JUST CLOSED. THAT IS FINE, I WILL TAKE MY BUSINESS TO HOME DEPOT.
GE money has very deceptive practices and I dont understand how they get away with it. I pay my lowes bill at the store on or before the due date, and every month I get a late fee. Last month they took it off, for feb which is showing up on march's bill they added another late fee, when I paid it on time! They have late fees, on top of other fees, and so on...I pay on time every month and manage to get fee'd to death. I cant wait to refinace and be done with these crooks.
Mix up with payments
I had an account with GE Money Bank to pay for a chair, paid it in full and bought a mattress, also with a different account with GE Money Bank. The first check I sent to start payment on mattress went on the account for the chair which was paid in full. So now I have a credit on the first account (PIF) and no payment on the second account.d6be4

GE MONEY BANK COMMITS FRAUD/SCAM
I have a "QCard" from QVC television retailers.
The card is thru GE Money Bank.
I had 2 promo purchases in 2008 - one due 1-10-09 and the other due 2-10-09, on what QVC calls "deferred billing".
QVC runs promos at slow times to increase purchases by offering billing due in a few months, at stated times in future. They call it "Deferred Payment".
First of all, all of these many years I have learned that QCard does not remind you NOT to pay your deferred promo advance ahead.
They sneak it in your current balance hoping you will forget about the deferred part not being due yet.
But that is not the main problem now.
I returned a purchased item that would be due 1-10-09 on the deferred payment offer it was bought on.
The bill does show the return for $68.36
However this is where the bank conjob comes in.
Instead of crediting that item for the 1-10-09 due date it had -- it took $68.36 out of the amount not due until 2-10-08 -- which was a distinct and separate item and should have remained a distinct and separate item.
GE MoneyBank is now conning me and asking for the $68.36 out of the item not due until 2-10-09 and is showing that only $3.67 will be due 2-10-08.
This is not a mistake.
This a con on consumers.
When QVC offers the "Deferred payment" to get a sale, the buyer must use the QCard.
GE MoneyBank and QVC knows very well what it is doing when it offers deferred payment only on QCard.
They cannot plead "mistake" when they try to con early payments from consumers.
I would not use the QCard otherwise because it has a ridiculously high APR 22.8%.
I ONLY use it when a deferred payment is offered.
But then GE Money Bank gets sleazy and dishonest.
GE MoneyBank needs to be ordered to:
1) Clearly on the bill show ONLY the balance that is due NOW and not include deferred promo balances due in the future, so that they hope you will forget and pay it all early.
2) When a return is made it does NOT affect the LEGAL AND BINDING contract for the item that is still on future promo and no sleazy con job trying to con early payment from the consumer.
I am so relieved to see in writing what I am experiencing. GE is fraudulent. They tack on late payment/finance charges on products that were returned well within the pre-determined timeframe. When you attempt to resolve the issue, you are rebuffed. They don't want to resolve an issue. They just want to wear you down, ruin your credit rating and enjoy making threatening phone calls 5-7 times daily. What I don't understand is why QVC has teamed up with this unsavory company and are unwilling to assist you. I canceled my membership with QVC after 25 years as a customer. There must be countless people like myself. Maybe QVC will realize when enough people cancel their membership. I hate QVC and make sure I tell everyone about my negative experience. I work at a hospital that has 15, 000 people. We have our own blog/e-mail/staff bulletin board. That reaches a lot of people.
If you are concidering to finance with GE Money? RUN THE OTHER FLIPPEN WAY! My Husband and I purchased a stove and financed it through GE MONEY. They denied recieving our four first payments added finance charges. Everymonth said our payment was late when we pay all our bills online and the bank said that it showed that we payed on time and extra payments monthly. We purchased the stove through GE MONEY for 12 months no intrest. YAH RIGHT! Its 6 months later we have paid $1000.00 when the stove actually was for $500.o0. If you need to talk to GE MONEY?LOL! You can not reach them unless you plan to be on hold for 2 hrs and that is after you have pressed a 100 numbers and been directed to 5-7 other numbers and than you waist your life away waiting in total ANGER waiting on someone to take your call 3 hrs later. Who cant speak English and never gives a direct answer or help than they hang up on you! THEY HANG UP ON YOU! I would rather have used my microwave and ate frozen box food for a year maybe two than ever use GEMONEY! They are THIEVES! You can plan on weeks of aggravation and no outcome. SOMEONE SHOULD SHUT THE DOORS ON THAT PLACE!ASHLEY DRAPER!
Unfair charges
After seeing an add on TV about Empire Flooring,
NO Finances, NO Interest, NO payment April 2008.
I thought this is a good deal, I ordered my floor covering, and signed a contract with Empire Floors.
Their was no mention of the financing being done through GE Money.
Time came for my payments to begain. I was in shock of the finance charges of $200. a month until the time it started, around $2000, overlimit, interest charges, and regular payment. I tried very hard work with both companies, asking them for my copy of a contract between me and Ge Money, its been six months of requests for my contract, I have Not recieved it. I have written the Attorney Generals office, who pasted it on to some one else. Their is no way for me to the payments, and its ruined my credit, which use to great. I'm so beside myself, I don't even sleep. They threaten to sue me, and place judgement on my property, although, I pay them what I can Every Month. To date from May 2008, and it is now Dec 2008. I have paid GE Money $1879. If anyone can tell what to do, please help.
Its unfair charges as well as fraud on GE Money and Empire Flooring in Florida.
I FEEL GE MONEY IS A HORRIBLE COMPANY.
THEY SHOULD BE PUT OUT OF BUSINESS. AS WELL AS EMPIRE FLOORING. THEY TAKE ADVANTAGE OF PEOPLE WITH NO KNOWLEDGE OF FINANCING PRACTICES. SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE, BY LAW MAKERS TO HELP THE PUBLIC TO FIGHT COMPANIES THAT TAKE ADVANTAGE.

Oh I can so relate. I bought a $1400 rug and they added over $700 in charges on my first bill. I contacted both Empire Today and GE and neither company will work with me, even though I offered to pay them in FULL from the very first bill. They want their inflated interest and will not budge. They are crooks and will rip you off just because they can. I would love to find some others who want to file a class action suit against this bunch of criminals who are stealing our money and ruining our credit!
Refunding over payment
I made an overpayment on my husbands account. I wanted to pay it down so I sent them eighteen hundred dollars. Going thru our family finances( due to fact that have been laiad off)I realized that we needed the back one thousand dollars that we sent to them. I called personally but not being the card holder the could not help me. So my husband called and they said that the could refund the thousand dollars and that it would take up to four weeks. So when that four weeksa was up and we still didn't receive that over payment my husband called and found out that the adjustment was never done. So the lady said that she was sorry and now would get the process going to send us back a thousand dollars. Well tomorrow will be the fourth week(the actual eith week) waiting and my husband check his account w/ GE Money on his honda account and it still has not been adjusted. This money was to go to varies other bills like our heating bill, water bill, and our utily bill which now are two months past due. Most important we needed to get our three children Christmas presents. What are we going to now? Thank you Ge Money for having a heart. Great Customer Service!

I completely agree and understand! I had to open an GE Money credit account through PEPBOYS in order to pay for some unexpected car repairs. There was supposed to be 90 days same as cash, at which I only got 30 days. When I called about only receiving 30 days, the GE associate argued with me!
Next, I did not receive my credit card for almost 6 months! I had no way to make payments (no card number, no account number, nothing!). I had to call in all of my payments and change the address to the correct address every month, because GE Money kept changing my account information! I finally had to tell them to leave my account information alone!
When I made my first online payment, I sent up my online account for automatic payments. It took a full month to start my automatic payments. When I checked my account this month, the automatic payments was turned off. So I made a one time payment (to make sure my payment is onetime) and then turned the automatic payments back on, expecting again that it would take another full month to start. Instead, the automatic payment started the next day and now my checking account is overdrawn because two payments were taken out for the month of June instead of one payment! I was also charged $30 in fees due to the over payment from my credit union. When I called GE Money, I was told by the associate that GE Money would refund the over payment (not including the $30 in fees), but it would take 7-10 business days for me to receive a check in the mail! If this happens with my other credit card, they return the over charge to my checking account within 1 day, not mail me a check in 7-10 days! I now have to scraped together cash from somewhere, to fix my checking account while GE Money takes their sweet time giving me my refund!
I plan on paying off my GE Money account and closing it! I would not refer my worst enemy to GE Money! Completely lousy service! No one should have to put up with this kind of customer service ever! GE Money Bank needs to get their act together!
FRAUD/UNEXPLAINED CHARGES
This company is a rip off! I had dental work done and my dentist recommend this company called care credit. It was promotional, no interest for the first year. After 3 months they charged me interest and back charged me $1500.00 on top the loan amount. No explanation has been given to the reason as why this has happened. I've been paying this loan on time and now that the loan amount is getting lower they decided to wack me with a 30% interest rate increase and back charged the interest rate for the full amount of the loan. Again no explanation has been given as to why they did it. This company is a scam and once you have a loan and/or credit with them it will not go away even after you pay it off. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!

Disputes Department
I was charged $3000 from a company that promptly went out of buisness. I never received any product from them. I just want GE Money to credit my account. Simple. Easy. WRONG! Does anyone have an inside number for the disputes department? This is better kept secret than the Holy Grail. Customer Srevice does not know anything and gives form answers. How can a disputes department not have a phone number? Unethical. HELP!

After my cat developed an abscessed tooth earlier this year and needed veterinary care, I took her in to see the vet. She required anesthesia and a tooth extraction. I applied for CareCredit to pay her $316.95 bill. This was not done lightly, I do not apply for credit willy-nilly and this is the ONLY credit I currently have. At the time I had a job but was not making very much. The vet bill was the only thing I have ever put on my CareCredit card.
The first time I was late on a payment I started receiving phone calls, at least 3 a day, sometimes as many as 8 per DAY. GEMB wants their money! My APR went up to 28.99% (no big surprise, I was forewarned) and I was put on a payment plan with automatic deductions from my checking account. The problem here is that paying the minimum payment amount takes care of the interest and finance charge ($9 per month) ONLY and the credit balance remains largely unchanged. After about 3 months the payment plan ceased and GEMB simply sent me bills in the mail for payment. To date I have paid $234.20 on my card.
Today I am unemployed, 60 days late on payment and receiving at least 3 calls a day from GEMB. I recently answered the phone and learned that my card balance is currently $466 due to interest and fees when the original purchase was $316 and AFTER making $234 in payments. I attempted to explain what was going on to the collections person on the phone; he told me all he could do was put me on an automatic payment plan to be deducted from my bank account. I told him I have $10 in checking, none in savings and no cash, so an automatic payment plan was not feasible. I explained that I am eating Ramen noodles and 99 cent bread. I told him I was unemployed. He persisted, telling me that he needed my checking account numbers. I hung up. He attempted to call back twice within 5 minutes so he could try to get me to approve the payments.
This company is simply out to make money by f**king it's customers in any way it can. I hope GEMB goes down with the rest of the corrupt financial institutions in the US.
My wife used care credit to help pay for some dental work. This was a no interest promotional plan that was offered at the Dental office. Right from the start they sent us a bill for late fee's and return check fee's. They also jacked the interest to 29% annual fee's. This seems to be a scam they run by claiming that they were gave the wrong bank information and couldn't collect payment. I feel it's their responsibilty to make sure they have the right information and once a problem does accur, they should phone and get it straightened out. This is nothing more than a rip-off and I recommend that everyone be aware and stay away!

I was a day late for the month of Dec. for the first time and it went from 46.00 to 61.oo, so I paid it, but now I have to pay a late fee again when my payment was recieved on time for the following mo. The operator said I will have to pay a late fee anyway in order to get it out of the system and she can not do anything about that. I like to have good credit and I like paying my bills on time. I try to be very responsible, but I will not pay for a penalty that doesn't exist. My email is quintinamaeweather@comcast.net if this needs to be discussed further. A letter will be written soon if I am charged for it.
thanks

GE Money Bank Continues to charge $50 plus in interest to my account and refuses to take it off. I have called several times and they say it is not a no interest promotion account. The store scanned it, the receipt shows the promo card. The store manager has called and asked GE Money Bank to change it.
I have called and asked them to change it. The refuse to change it and say they have no record of anybody calling from the store or me every time we call. This happens every time when using stores that do there financing through GE Money Bank. Sam's club every time, Bass Pro Shops once so far and Big R, this one, once so far. What can I do?
GE Money Bank lowered my WalMart credit from $400 to $100 for no other reason than my age 76. I pulled a report CSC Credit Services that show all credit cards and revolving account were all paid on time. GE Money Bank fails to give a legitimate reason for their action.
I am boycotting WalMart, Lowes and any other company or product they represent. I encourage other to do the same and also join in a Class Action law suit against GE Money Bank for discrimination.
My son's girlfriend went to a dentist office for a check up and was given the details of work required. It was more than she could afford and they set her up to apply for a loan. She did not qualify on her own and so she added me as a co-signer without my permission. She entered my SS# and all other information. No one from GE or the dentist office every called me to asked me to sign or verify my co-signing of this loan. GE has told me the only way to fix this is by filing a police report against the mother of my grandson and a resident alien.
I don't believe that I should be put in this position as GE accepted co-signing information without confirmation or my signature! I find this practice of securing a co-signer without calling or verifying involvement highly suspect and criminal.
Please advice!
On July 29, I was called by a GE Money Bank rep that informed me that they had not received my July payment. I immediately made a payment by phone, for which I was charged a 10.00 fee for the trouble.
Upon checking my bank statement when I got home, I found that they had received the payment and GE cashed the check on July 9. I called them back and was told to fax the statement to [protected]. I checked with them two weeks later and was told that “these things sometimes takes 3-4 weeks" and to call back the following week.
I called on Aug. 20 and was told that they had never received the fax and to refax. I confirmed the number, refaxed the information and asked for a confirmation call, which never came. I called on Aug. 28, and was told the fax machine was “down" and I would have to send it by mail. I did a search and found an account of this same scenario from 2007 along with tens of thousands of other complaints about this company.
I mailed the information on Sept. 2 and it was signed for on Sept. 8. I spoke with a rep on Sept. 15 and was told that the payment would be applied on the Oct. statement. When it did not appear, I called yet again and was told by an “Escalation Specialist" that it would take 1-2 billing cycles.
I called on Oct. 20 and Chris #7099 confirmed that my July payment had been applied to a different account due to a scanning issue (the scanner misread the account number that a GE employee had recorded on the check). He said it would be put on a priority status and would appear within 30 days.
I paid off the entire balance on Nov. 4 and sent a letter stating that the final payment had been made and the account was paid in full.
I called on Nov. 12 to check the progress and was told by Pam #71549 that the processing of research had JUST been started on Nov. 11. with no explanation for the delay. On Dec. 1, I spoke with Steven #74202 to check progress and was told it would be another 1-2 billing cycles and that nothing could be done to rectify the mistake they made. I reminded this rep that the balance was paid and the only outstanding was money they already had. He said that until they resolved it, I would be charged with late fees and possibly reported to a collection agency.
On Dec. 12, I spoke with Barbara #BFA who guaranteed the payment would be posted by midnight that night. I called on Dec. 15, and not only had it not been applied, I now had a 39.00 late fee attached. I spoke with Nate #74227 who informed me that they had just sent a letter to me requesting a front AND back copy of the check along with a letter from my bank. When I asked why this had not been the request back on July 29, there was no reason given. I reminded him that GE confirmed back on Oct. 20 that they knew they had the money and even knew the account to which it had been applied. It made no difference to this company.
I got the “proof" they requested and sent it with a four-page letter from my lawyer threatening legal action if they didn't get their act together. I finally received a letter on Dec. 30 with the resolution and a half-hearted apology for “any inconvenience this may have caused."
This company is expert at lying and giving its customers the runaround. It would seem that there is a script they follow to make the process of correcting their mistakes as long and as frustrating as possible. It took five months, over 20 phone calls, research and a scathing letter from my attorney to get them to correct the mistake they knew they made.
This letter was also sent to three CEO;s, Mark Begor, Jeff Immelt and William Cary. I have not had the courtesy of a response from these three gentlemen. Judging by the amount of online complaints, I can only assume that they have too many to respond personally. I was never allowed to speak to anyone in the Research Dept. Their customer reps were rude and condescending. I am recommending that the physician who set me up with this Mickey Mouse company find another bank to provide credit to his patients. I would suggest that anyone with a dispute, get an attorney on board immediately, keep records of whom you speak with and what you are told.
I was approved for a loan for a $8, 000 motocycle seven years ago. The original loan that I got sold what was left of it to GE money Bank about 5 years ago. I called in my payments every month and at the end of my loan, I was contacted by their collections department because they claim that I still owed them $615 for interest on late charges. If I didn't pay their late charges, I wouldn't get the pink slip to MY motorcycle that I so happened to pay for every month!
On Tuesday, I sent them a payment of $215. I contacted them 2 hours ago because they said I was late on a payment for the late charges. As soon as I hung up the phone with GE Money, I called a family member to see if I could borrow the rest of my "late charges" from them to pay off GE Money, and since this person agreed to help me, called GE Money to give this stupid place one last payment. Only to find out that in 5 minutes, the finance charge on my "late charge" went up $4! Are you kidding me?!?!
I got the GE money card last fall for chiropractic care. I thought it was a o% interest rate at first. I pay double the amount every month and I get whammed with a defered interest charge once it was 75.00 another, last time it was 95.00. I had just given them 40.00! I think there should be some legal action we could take against this ruthless company! How can anyone ever pay it off? Lissa S from NH
I had a few hundered $ left to owe. They now say I owe 545.oo. This is my wife's Card. I told them I wanted to pay it off right now and since I'm not on the account and I'm the one who pays for the thing every month they will not tell me. So I told them to put on their computer... Husband will not pay for remainder and Wife will claim Bankrupt!
They can kiss my A...
I worked for GE in Australia. We should spread the word! Thier bonus structures are based on ripping people off. Get the fat cats fatter and have all of the workers get nuthin. ### GE fraudsters, should be shut down and given no federal funding.
They are correct.
GE has no way of knowing you didn't actually co-sign.
Why did she have access to your SSN in the first place? You're careless for letting her or your son have access to it.
Good parenting btw, you must be so proud that your son is making good decisions like getting girls pregnant. Sounds like a whole family of winners.
