I signed up for PayPal buyer credit, and spent around $700 in various products online. When time to pay my bill came, I submitted all of my information, double checked it, and didn't worry about it. The ONLY way for me to see the account was to go through the PayPal website. I thought that was strange, but didn't think to much about it. I pay ALL of my...

GE Money Bank Charges for services not rendered

I went to a dentist and he sold me an appliance that never fit me.

I had to go to another dentist and pay more money. Now GE Money still wants me to pay $1000.00 for something I couldn't use. Plus they have upped the interest rate even though I made payments. I really hate the way they do business.

Also to you Bent, if you were smart enough to read the actual terms then you would have realized that the account security you paid for is not provided by GE MONEY. Most account security programs are provided by a completely separate company than the bank granting you credit.

You may want to use spell check before posting a comment for now on.

Obviously you are all financially challenged, incompetent, and completely ignorant. You are the "at risk" demographic that most likely has a poor credit score because you don't pay your bills on time or not at all. You are the reason why the ecomony is in the state it is in, the irresponsible group of individuals that causes banks to have to charge fees. If you knew anything then you would know that due to the credit card act of 2009 the federal regulates the interest rates the banks charge and yes they have gone up as have the min monthly payments. The Government has made many changes in hopes to make Americans be more financially responsible than they have been in the past. Basically the government has had to babysit you all and that has caused a negative impact to the rest of the Americans that do pay their bills on time. So we have to pay for your stupidity. If you are dumb enough to sign a contract without reading the small print or realizing that the bank has nothing to do with the practice with whom you made the choice to go to without doing your homework and render services then you really do deserve the highest fees and finance charges.

Number240 -
Chiropractic scam? Please explain. Although there are all types of chiropractors just as there are all types of businessman, salesman, dentists, doctors, stores, etc, I would like to hear what you mean by a "scam"? I am not very familiar with CareCredit, but chiropractic will work if you have a chiropractic problem. Do you have other medical conditions? Chiropractic will help you, but I know you do have to listen to your chiropractor and follow their care plan. If you stop early or don't go as they tell you, how do you expect to get better? It's like if you went to an orthodontist and only would wear your braces for a few days/weeks instead of the whole time they told you to wear them. Get it? Chiropractic works and if you do have a problem, talk to your chiropractor because I just hate seeing anyone talk poorly about chiropractic.
Best wishes for health and happiness!

I have been paying monthly for Account Security Insurance through GE Bank/Care Credit along with my charged payments since august 2009 just incase I lose my job due to health or any other reason. I started a new job January 5, 2009 and lost my job January 12, 2009 due to work related injuries/illness. I had my primary physician fill out and send 3 X one of their insurance forms that stated that I was still injured/ailing and may not be able to return to work for a year of more. They are still today sending me a bill that should have been paid off. I have sent an e-mail to my state attorney general to help investigate why they are not covering my bill. I have borrowed money to keep paying up till now. I have always had good credit and paid my bill on time. I fear that GE Bank / Care Credit will be ruining my credit rating, becuase of their neglect.

Got stuck in a chiropractic scam, where Care Credit funded the useless process. No help from the treatment. And the unbelievable interest rates and late fees.
They are truely bloodsuckers.
I only i could spread the work more!
Stay away from Care Credit, GE Money Back.

Oh my god i thought i was the only one dealing with these non-sense people. Believe it or not i have been trying to get a refund for a year now and no one is helping what so ever. I went to the american laser center which actually are the ones that applied for care credit. I told them i am going out of the country for a few months so i dont want to charge anything right now i just want information on services and charges. so the manager made all the paperwork for me and said i didnt have to pay for it right now i could just fill out the paperwork so when i decide to start the procedure i would get the same rate instead of something more expensive. She sujested that care credit offers 0% financing and if i have good credit i might be approved for that. I again told her that I dont want to be charged for it right now because i will not be in the country for 6 to 8 months. She said just apply for it and if you are approved you can charge it when you come back. Next thing I know I got a bill from Care credit for $6500.00. So then i went back to the american laser center and told the manager who charged this amount and why was i sent the card with an amount already charged to it. She assured me they would refund me and said that she cant refund me herself the regional manager would. Two days after I went to see her and I found out she has been fired. My flight was the next day and I gave all the info to my mom and left. My mom went to them every month and paid the card every month because not only did they refuse to refund me they said if she didnt pay on time every month they would sent it to the collection agency and that would ruin my credit.
When I finally came back in the country 7 months later I went to them and explained the whole thing to the new manager and she said that our services are non-refundable. I told her that is fine but the manager here told me she would refund me because I never charged the service. Then she kept saying the regional manager is not available. Then she changed her story and said you have to call care credit and file a dispute with them not us. So then I called care credit and filed a dispute. American laser center sent them a receipt for the charge that doesnt even have my signature on it and yet care credit sent me a letter saying the dispute has been decided in the merchants favor. If i didnt sign the receipt and someone else at the laser center did then how is it in thier favor? Also the so called proof they sent of my service being used is for a different package. I didnt even dispute that one! To top it all off now that it has been a year and I am still calling both of them to get a refund for this non-sense the 0% financing ended so this month I got the new bill with a $1400.00 finance charge on it. Have they lost thier minds!
I am totally pissed off and have searched for hours online and realized there are more than 100 other complaints about both american laser center and care credit. The only person that ever got a refund was a man who contacted his local newspaper and got them involved. Now i have contacted a lawyer and I am also finding out which news channel helps consumer disputes and going to them with this. I'm paying thousands of dollars for something i've never used and which should have been refunded a year ago! I'm also going to find out if a class action can be filed because so many people are wanting to do the same thing!

Just left a comment on an other site in regards to them...It was a site called pissed consumers and we are very much not the only ones that have a problem with care credit. Here was my post:

I had almost the same issue as Martha except it was a paperless issue...so much for trying to save paper! I've been paying almost all my bills online for years and yes I READ THE FINE PRINTS. After not receiving 2 statements I went straight to the website to see what was going on only to realize I was past due on one payment and was about to be past due on the second one. I immediately went to make a payment and the only option I was given was to do auto payment which I later found out will only go into affect 30 days later. After still signing up to auto payment just to be safe I awaited a confirmation stating the payment was received.

I get a call the following day by an "unknown" number saying I was due on my bills and had a conversation with a "sam" reading obviously a script and no clue about anything else thanks to the oh so common outsourcing. After explaining my end of the deal he did confirm that the records would show the payment on his end later that day. 15 days later (yesterday, when I was in the hospital with a ivy stuck to my arm!) I get an unknown number call but was obviously not able to answer and no message was left. They then choose to call my co-signers WORK number rather than his cell number...like every other PROFESSIONAL company opts to do first! Upon getting out of the hospital today I find out what happened and still woozy and now pissed off I call the idiots working the "customer service" to get by far the worst service I've gotten yet.

After talking to idiot number one and being called a liar (oh yes...it's true)...went on to talking to the supervisor, hereon referred to as idiot number 2. With more of a scripted conversation and now me being officially furious the conversation went on to him questioning my ability to read, refusing to let me speak to his supervisor, name calling from his end, raising my blood pressure to a very unhealthy level, no remorse or apology from his end about the problems dealt with his website, refusal to explain why my payment wasn't processed even though my bank account sure as *** got charged for it and why I still have to now pay a late fee regardless. One more issue from them and I will have my lawyer involved since all the transactions online is recorded as well as the conversation over the phone. Idiots.

You need to take that return up with your dentist.
Go back to them and get your refund you will
have to DEMAND satisfaction or you will get nothing.
They made money off a product that does not work.

as far as carecredit goes make your payments on time.
do not incure intrest payments or they will make
more on your teeth than the dentist.

root canals? Its cheaper to pull them !

I hate them, too. They want you to go online for everything, but their Web site is painfullly slow!

My account with them is very new. I thought you just made payments every month and as long as you paid the right amount by the end of your free-financing period, you were good. I made four payments that got there each month around the 8th. Turns out, my due date was the 1st. It is clear that my intention was to make regular monthly payments. I also paid well above the minimum amount. However, after checking my paper statements (which, luckily I still receive) I noticed I was getting a $39 fee each month.

They said they could only credit one of the $39 late fees I received--as a courtesy.

I guess the only leverage I have against them is to close my account. Luckily, I'm in a position to pay off my balance (minus their fees) and close it. I am surprised they'd rather lose an account and irritate a customer than credit a 39 fee.

I'd really like to know who is suing GE Money bank and if this is a class action. My niece is bombarded with over 20 calls a day beginning from 8:00 a.m to 9:00 p.m. 7 days a week even though they are taking payments from her checking account every month. (I took a loan out for my niece). She had to unplug the phone. The money being taken out of the...

GE Money Bank They don't keep accurate records

Our care credit account has been a pain in the neck since we got it. They did not send our first bill so immediately (6 weeks after the surgery) had added extra fees. Then to get all that cleared up took hours. We then paid the "payoff" balance with our tax return but suddenly the offer disappeared. There was now $60.00 left over. In the meantime I sent $20.00 toward that as I was too busy to argue at the time and I just found out that wasn't even accredited to my account and they added another $50.00+ of interest charges! Our bill is now $133.[protected]@!

I will contact the medical provider and tell them to trash that company's pamphlet.

I also signed up for Care Credit to have extensive Dental work done. I discovered that some months they started skipping sending me a statement. The first time I hadn't realized it . I recieved a phone call at work saying that I was late with my payment. I said I didn, t think that was possible as I always pay my bills almost as soon as they come in the mail. I pay before the due date and usually extra. When I got home I checked my check book and sure enough they were right. I searched high and low for any mail I could have miss placed. Nothing. I called the number from and old bill and spoke to a very nice young man. He looked back over my prevoius payment record and said he could see that I had always payed in the manner previously stated. He removed the 35.00 late fee from my next bill and also didn't make me in default of my promotional interest free loan. I figured out how pay my bill on line through my bank. Fortunately. Every other month, almost, I don't recieve a paper statement on my account. First I had been able to log into care credit's web site, but quite often it doesn't seem to be possible. I'm trying to transfer the rest of my balance to my Discover Card before I get nailed with a now 900 and some dollar interest. The funny thing about this interest charge is the lower my bill goes the higher that becomes.

I am going through trying to get finance charges reversed now from GE CREDIT for something I payed as I was told to do in full to reverse the finance charges. Very unfair company without customer satisfaction at stake at all. ALL OF my previous payments were timely. BEWARE and hoping they set their customer service up a little better in the future.
I was scolded that I didn't read the statement on the expiration date clearly . They sent me the new statement the day of the expiration - I called for Balance, was told balance with out incurred finance charges...they still hvae the charges on my account for finance. IT ws a deferred CARE CREDIT PROGRAM. YIKES!

Care Credit & LA Weight Loss

In June of 2007 I signed up for LA Weight Loss and they offered a 90 day interest free payment plan. I agreed to their terms. Within 10 day after signing up, I chose not to do LA Weight Loss and requested a refund from them, which I did receive. On August 17, 2007 and I sent a cheque along with a letter to GE Care Credit advising that this was full payment for my account within the 90 day interest free time frame. I started to receive phone calls within that week looking for my first payment, which was past due, however, I did advise them that full payment was in the mail. Thinking the matter was done, I took off to Ontario for holidays. During that time I was getting a phone a day from GE looking for payment, at which time I told them I had paid it in full. It got to the point after about the 3rd call, I quit answering my cell due to long distance charges. When I returned home to BC in September, there was bill in the mail showing a full outstanding amount. I called and again said I had paid this in full. They were showing no record of payment. I gave them all the info they requested, date of the chq, chq # and the amount. They said they would track it down. September passed with no more calls, and again a bill showed up with a full outstanding amount. Once again I called and got the run around that it wasn't showing as being paid. At this point I called my bank and found out the cheque had cleared thru my account on August 21, 2007. Just 4 days after I sent it. I called back and I asked for a manger and was put thru to some lady named Brenna and she told me to get a letter of trace from my bank with both sides of the processed cheque and fax it to her attention. I did as I was instructed on September 11, 2007. Upon receipt of the banking info I faxed Brenna the information requested. October again the calls started, and again I told them the account was paid in full, gave them all the required info and they tell me my account is still outstanding. Every time there is a call it's always a different person and they don't seem to be able to read on the screen that some else has called and the info that I have given them is the same each time. On October 15, 2007, I received another bill showing my account was still outstanding and NOW THEY'VE ADDED $53.61 INTEREST CHARGES. Once again I fax to Brenna's attention with banking info and asking that the billing be adjusted accordingly. October 17, 2007 I get another phone call from customer service telling my account is in arrears. By now I'm very angry and feeling extremely harassed. I give them the same story and hang up. At this point I decided to call back and try to get this resolved. Each and every time you call in you have to give them your name, address and account number, even though you've keyed in your account number on the phone pad. The girl wanted all the info again and I said I wanted to be put thru to a manager, I was put thru to a guy named Devon and once again it's the whole entire story. He tells me after putting me on hold a number of times, that he has found someone who can help resolve this and transfers me over. I'm grateful that finally this was going to get resolved. WRONG! She tells me that she is in customer service and has nothing to do with straightening out accounts. I told her I had faxed twice to Brenna. She proceeded to tell me there was no Brenna or Brenda that worked there. SO WHERE DID THIS FAXED INFORMATION GO TO? She couldn't tell me, at which point I asked for a manager and was told, manager was on break. I was not going to have this go on any longer, so I demanded a manager or the manager's manager. She put me thru to some guy named Mike, and again the whole story. Mike gave me a fax number of what I believed to be the accounting department. It turned out to be a wrong number. Now the blood is boiling. I call customer service get a very nice lady named Rachel, explained I don't want to get into details but was given a fax number for accounting that isn't working. Could she please help me with the right number. She put me on hold for awhile and tried to get thru to accounting, but all the lines were busy, so she said she would call back with the required info. This is the only person over the past 2 months that has offered to do anything extra to try and resolve this issue. She called back within 15 minutes with a fax number to the Escalation Desk that was supposed be able to fix this. That was at 11:00 am on Wednesday, October 17, 2007. I did request a reply from them advising that the situation was resolved. As of 9:20 am this morning I've had no return fax, and the calls have started again. This time I was rude and yelling and hung up on them, as I'm at my wits end and was just about to break down in tears. From there I have faxed again to the Escalation Desk as well as I found the fax number for Care Credit on line. In my letter I have advised that I must have an answer by 4PM today, or I have no other choice but to go to CTV News and deal with their problem ombudsman to get this cleared up once and for all. In the past I had some credit issues so I don't need to have this monkey causing any further problems.

GE Money Bank Ignoring letters and calling 10+ times daily

For five months I paid my payment to GE money bank on time. I even paid over the amount. Shortly after my surgery on my eyes (april 06) my son was diagnosed with a lifelong disease. Despite the fact of having insurance , his expenses exceeded thousands of dollars a month. I live paycheck to paycheck. I own nothing. One of his medicines cost $444.99 / month. By August I was struggling to keep the electricity on. I wrote three letters to GE and none were answered. They now call me up to ten times every day. They refuse to respond to my letters and continue to harass me!

Bware!

I purchased a promise ring for my boyfriend from Daniels Jewelers in Feb 2007. I never saw a bill from them and I never got a phone call for 3 months. They called my work supervisor harassing him and he told them that they had the wrong number, so he gave them my cell phone. I was very sick for 2 weeks and did not answer either my home or cell phone, my boyfriend did. He told me that it was from GE Money and I needed to return the call immediately, well I wasn't going to deal with them until I felt better. A week went by and that whole week my cell rang about 6-20 times a day from an unknown caller, and when i finally picked up it wasn't even a person i was put on hold so i hung up and went to the store and talked to the employees there. They called up GE for me and when it was all said and done they screwed up my billing address and apologized and said they would repair any bad notes or collection notices if I had any in my record/name and just made sure that I knew I had to pay 3 months in one lump sum because of their ### mistake... who they have typing up bills? GE Money Bank Missing cheques!

These guys are not sparing any customers. I have used car loan running with this GE Money. I paid Rs. 18,520 in cash for last 4 installments. I also paid Rs. 500 as the swapping charges of cheques besides 18 cheques of my Sydicate bank account. I made the payments on April 4, 2007 and the money was not credited to my account till may 2,2007. I went to their Pitam Pura office, then the money was credited after I spent more than 4 hrs there. They also promised me that my next cheque will hit my new account but... did not appeared as yet. I already closed my last ABN AMRO account. Two days back collection guy called me and used a foul language, because they presented the old cheque in old account. Now I am worried about my 18 cheques those I gave from my new account.

Is someone knows Mr. Vishal Pandit's contact details (CEO & President, GE Money India) ?... pls give me... because let us know him what kind of fraud are being done by his colleagues.

GE MONEY & LOEWS FINANCIAL have been harassing me for the past several weeks attempting to collect a debt for an account holder with the same first and last name as mine, but is not me, nor my debt. First of all, I have never applied for a LOEWS credit card, nor have I ever owned one. I am not even a home owner, so not much home improvement going on at my place by me. I originally received a letter attempting to collect a debt in the amount of $935.00. I was surprised to receive the letter knowing I had never owned or applied for services through GE, or LOEWS. That day I ran my credit (and paid the credit site fees out of pocket) to see if someone had stolen my identity and was attempting to use my information to obtain services and credit. I was pleased to find that nothing was reporting to my credit from LOEWS or GE MONEY. I then called GE MONEY & LOEWS FINANCIAL at the number posted on the letter. I informed them that I didn't think they had the correct individual, and they asked to confirm my social security number. I gave them the last 4 digits, which DID NOT match the SS# they had in their collection records. I then asked to confirm the additional information on the account to see if they had my phone number, or address. According to the rep, they additional information did not match mine either. She stated that it appeared to be a mix up, and that they most likely found my information through "skip tracing" and that she would remove my info and note on the account what she had found. I then wrote what she had advised me to on the letter and returned it as instructed. She stated I SHOULDN'T be getting any more mail or communication regarding the matter. I felt like matters had been addressed accordingly and gave it no more thought, until...

I received yet another letter, and another, and another in the same week. All four letters came after our conversation, so I assumed they were already in the mail, called GE MONEY to tell them that I was still getting mail and send the additional letters back as I did the first time exactly as they instructed me to. Again, the rep told me I shouldn't be getting any more letters, and that she had COMPLETELY removed my info from their system (which apparently didn't match what they had on record, that they magically denied having every time I called about the letters).

So, the next week I was happy to see that no more letters came from GE MONEY or LOEWS FINANCIAL. However, at this time they started in with the harassing phone calls. So, I had finally gotten the letter issue handled and they started calling me instead. The issue I have here is that I gave them my phone information so they wouldn't call me, and then I started getting calls, so it was easy to assume that they had started using the information I gave them to continue to harass me for a debt that isn't even owed by me, or anyone I know. I nicely requested each time they called me that they review their notes on the account and that they kindly see that I stop getting these types of calls, and that it was getting pretty old after having received an average of 4 calls a day to my cell phone over the course of the week. Each time I got a new rep who called me, I told them the same thing, and was as polite as I could be (not my typical reaction to these mistakes, but I was trying to be nice). Each time I was assured that my information was out of their system, and that they have no record of me in it, and that I wouldn't be receiving any more calls to my cell phone. At that time, I was under the impression that things were handled and that I wouldn't be getting any more calls. Not so lucky...

The next week, and weekend. I was again surprised (getting harder though since now nothing would surprise me from these people) to get another call, this time it was on my home phone, which I don't even give out or use for any reason. The other funny thing, is that my phone bill for my house isn't even in my name, it's in my roommates name. I was literally steaming as I was trying to spend Valentines Day with my sweetheart and during our movie, the damn COMCAST caller id kept popping up saying it's GE MONEY calling. Arggg. At this point I had had enough from these people, and felt like it was not borderline harassment anymore, but was now full-fledged harassment. I immediately phoned the number that was calling. I asked to speak with a supervisor, got a new person, asked to speak with their supervisor. When I finally got to the person who told me they were as high as I could go, I explained what was happening (basically everything I wrote above) and that I was not happy at this point about the way this matter was being dealt with. I then told the rep that if I got even ONE MORE call, period, that I was going to write reviews and pursue the harassment by any means necessary including via my State's Attorney General (Rob McKenna), the Better Business Bureau (BBB), the FTC and Online through review sites, blogs, forums, Twitter, Youtube, etc. and any other way I could find. She nicely listened to my rant and assured me that AGAIN, FOR THE TENTH TIME, that I WOULDN'T receive any more calls, either on my cell or at home. And that after 30 minutes I FOR SURE wouldn't be getting any more calls to any of my numbers. She also attempted to transfer me to the Fraud Dept. so that I could have them investigate the matter form their end. I am not sure why she suggested that, but figured any one I could get to remove my information on their end would be better than taking their word for it. So, during the transfer I got cut off, had to phone back and wait forever to get back where I was. Finally got through and turns out the Fraud Dept isn't even open on weekends. I decided to give them one more chance at this point and went on with my Valentines Day. Did not get any more calls thank heavens.

First thing on Monday, I phoned the Fraud Dept. to follow up with what the rep and I had spoken about on Sunday. I got on with a very nice gal at the Fraud Dept. that was nice and seemed very helpful. She informed me that it wasn't Fraud, that it was a mix up due to the fact that they skip trace for information that may or may not match information they have on record for their accounts. She kept using the word skip trace. To me this whole scenario seemed weird. And had never had anything like that happen before in my 28 years. She also assured me that my info would be cleared on her end, and that I shouldn't be getting any more calls, unless they run another skip trace and end up with my information again. I told her that wasn't acceptable, and if they were going to use random information like that, that they needed to have a way of removing information that was deemed to be invalid for their actual account holder, that way, people like me wouldn't be getting harassed like I had been. She said she couldn't do anything and that she had removed my information and that I need not worry about calls.

Less than 30 minutes later, on Monday I got another call from GE MONEY and LOEWS FINANCIAL on my cell phone. "Are you kidding me?" I asked. Needless to say, I was not nice to the last person, I told them that this call was the straw that broke it for me, and that I was going to follow through with my promise to report them, review them, and plaster my story all over the Internet. So, that's what I'm doing. I usually don't even write reviews online, nor do I have time to do such things. I just really feel like this is all wrong and that if I don't speak up it might continue to happen to me, and others out there.

If you find yourself in a similar situation with GE MONEY and LOEWS FINANCIAL don't wait as long as I did to start speaking up. Seriously, I tried to be nice and it doesn't cut it with these collection people. If I were you, and had it to do over again, I would have reported it to my State's Attorney General, BBB, FTC and all over the Internet from the beginning. Take my work for it, the squeaky wheel tends to get the grease.

These people are really not sparing any of their customers... My mother was paying the car installment for the last few years, suddenly on the last week of june 2008 we recieved a legal notice from their advocate ordering us to pay a certain amount saying that our cheque got bounced, when asked GE monet they informed that the cheque for the month of april got bounced... we went to pay the amount to pitam pura where we asked that why were'nt we informed about this earlier so that we could have come and payed the amount in april itself...we were sent to this very not so polite person Mr. Pankaj of the collection dept.when asked that why were'nt informed by him as he was the only person dealing with that, (this was not the first time even last year unfortunately one of the cheque got bounced and we recieved a call from the GE Money informing us about it and one of the guy came and personally collected the amount) his response to this was shocking...he said..." yeah we didnt inform you...but you will have to pay the whole amount". Our question is that if we were informed earlier we would have paid the amount much earlier and without the interest of two months... if this company has recuited someone specially to inform the customers and Mr. Pankaj has this responsilbility then why will he not do his duty properly? WHY THE HELL... we will pay pay the interst amount of two months coz of his negligence?I think such irresponsible people dont deserve to work for this company... who outrightly deny their responsibilty and dont have any manners of talking to elderly people... his last words were..."yes i did not inform you but better pay the amount... coz at the end you will have to pay".

Got talked into this 0% credit card to cover medical bills. Wasn't aware that if I did not pay off by the end of the promotional rate I would have to back pay all of $2,432.00 in interest. But planning on doing so all along saved me from that little bit of "fine print" news.

I sent the money 4 weeks b4 it was due just to prevent any mishaps. Thank god I did as they seemed to have LOST my payment so I sent another check which also seemed to take forever to post. I strongly believe this was in the hopes of my not paying it off so they could add the additional fee.

It's been over a month and they are still holding almost 4K of my money. Every time I call they have a different excuse. Today they claimed this was my first call; I should have called b4 (if I was that anxious). DUH! Then they got rude because I was upset when they insisted I never called before!

In all my years of overpaying, I have always gotten my refund immediately. Matter of fact, been told they cannot hold my money even though I insist as I know I'll have another balance before long. Yet GE Money seems to think they have every right to my money for 90 WORKING days; unless I call to request my refund. Then I can have it within 30 working days.

Trying to complain via email is a joke as is their website! So sent a letter via snailmail as I’m sure whoever I talked to today has no intention of mailing my money. I can almost guarantee the next time I call they’ll have no record of today’s call either!

Stay away from these scammers.

GE Money Bank Wanting me to pay for the product that was never shipped!

I order a computer from Peach Direct. Three months later not computer. GE Money Bank is sending me bills. Even though they know the computer was never shipped. I called Ge Money and was told by the Customer Service Rep. "We gave Peach Direct the money. Until they give it back to us you will owe the bill. Huh? Can someone tell me who I need to contact to try and get some type of class action lawsuit against these people? Peach direct had another finance company, because their number is on one of my bills. When I called them they said you have the wrong number. We DO NOT HANDLE FINANCING FOR THEM ANY LONGER! So now I think GE Money might be a scam, And the two of them might be working together.
I just need some help in cleaning up there scam and exposing them to the credit companies and getting the bad reports off of the credit reports they have ruined.

GE Money Bank Charged fees after closing account

GE has been found guilty of so many counts of criminal and fraudulent behavior since 1977 it is amazing that they are still in business. Radioactive testing on humans, fines for pollution, and for illegal credit collection practices totaling hundreds of millions are just a few (http://www.cleanupge.org/gemisdeeds.html).

I have had my fair share of horrible experiences with them. My wife and I purchased two TVs on a zero percent interest plan (or so we thought). GE Money would only approve two separate loans to cover the purchase amount one for me, and one for my wife (hmm). We thought this was odd, but we decided to do it anyway. We received a statement from them in our second month of the loan informing us that we had not made full payments on each loan (note: we had not made any payment). On both loans they charged us a late fee, removed the zero percent plan, and increased the interest rates. We thought that we had no payments for 12 months. We called GE Money they said that we were supposed to make minimum monthly payments, but that is not why they removed the plan after the first month. In a very rude and disrespectful tone, the GE Money person said that our credit limit did not cover the full amount of the purchase on each of the two loans. Each loan had a very small amount due something like $300 combined against a $5000 purchase. Sure enough there was about $150 due showing on each statement. To maintain the zero percent program we were supposed to pay the $300 or so dollars the first month. The store where we purchased the TVs did not disclose this. They were shocked when we brought it up. GE Money was not upfront when we entered into the zero percent loan agreement. They could have required that we paid these amounts as a down payment when we purchased the TVs, but they didn’t. These amounts owed were not disclosed at the time of purchase, and they are simply odd. I wonder how many millions of people GE Money has pulled this stunt with. The retail store that sold us the TVs was willing to write a letter on our behalf, but we decided to pay off and close both accounts, but I will never forget the experience.

Round two; my wife needed some emergency dental care. She opened an account with the dentist and did not notice that it was GE Money thinking it was some company named Care Credit. The amount was $500 (with a much higher credit limit for more work needed). We had some confusion on payments owed again. The short story is that after 2 months they charged us $59 in fees, terminated our low interest plan, and charged $30 in finance charges. Here is the interesting part. I called them at 2.5 months into the loan and asked for the total amount owed (the pay-off). I paid it and closed the account, which they verified. I get another a statement the next month informing me that they received the payoff amount (thank you), but that they want an additional $30 finance charge, and $10 check fee, which they neglected to collect at time of payoff. I don’t understand how they have a right to continue to ask for additional, retroactive, interest after they provide a payoff and acknowledge closure of the account. Is this legal? It should not matter that its $500 (plus about $100 in fees and interest in 2.5 months) what matters is the horrible behavior of these people. The fact is that if I don’t just pay it they will charge late fees up the wazzoo. Why do Americans continue to put up with this ongoing abuse? We are to blame if we don’t do something about it.

GE money bank just took over my Citi account. The account was closed. I only know because Citi left their number on their answering machine for inquiries about the change. GE money never sent a statement. That alone tells me they wanted me to be late so they could charge a late fee. I closed the account with Citi because I did not need it. Only owed a little ove $1, 100. I will post this any where and every where will be be praying strongly for the company to fail in tirely in the business market. They are unscrupoulous and do not have good business practice and do not deserve to exist in the business wolrd. When this countries wolrd market does finally fall, I hope they fall the hardess. Everyone reaps what they sow.

Consumers should be able to research finance companies first before making a decision to apply for a finance product.

If consumers can see that GE Money products have distinct disadvantages, that the customer service is poor, the interest rates higher, and the debt collection process is very aggressive and damaging for the consumer it is more likely that consumers will not take up GE Money products.

Loss of business for GE Money and lower profits will really make an impact against GE Money

I just received a letter from Universal Fidelity Collection Agency stating that Chevron/GE Money Bank has turned over a bill for collection. They claim that I owe them $224.30. My husband has been dead for 5 years and I have not used the card. In fact, I shredded the thing. We opened the account when we were traveling to New York in 2001 and that is the only time that it was used. Its strange that I never received a bill for over 5 years. Explain that one!

I am extremely creditworthy and have always paid my bills in full and on time. My complaint has nothing to do with being slammed with an incorrect late charge or interest fees. Nor am I "stupid, " as presumptiously assumed by one of the other posters on this blog. (I am always immediately suspicious of those who call others "stupid" for reporting corporate misbehavior and always have to wonder whose side is buttering their bread anyway.)

At any rate, it strikes me that GE Money Bank now has their fingers into everything. They have just taken over my Chevron gas credit card which I have held for years.

I only found out about the GE Money Bank take-over of my Chevron account after recently requesting a copy of my credit report. My credit report is showing TWO different Chevron accounts in my name, and both accounts are showing as currently active and open (I have only ONE Chevron account). One of the postings is showing an account number that I have not yet been apprised of AND the entry is showing that the account was just opened this month, an action that was NOT initiated by the customer.

After contacting Chevron's service representative to question this matter, it was explained that G.E. Money Bank was in the process of taking over my Chevron account and that I would soon be receiving a new Chevron card reflecting the new account number. It was further explained that during the “transition” period, two different accounts would be reporting to the credit bureaus (even though I have only the one) and that the former account would “eventually” reflect as “transferred” to the newly opened account.

In these times of customers having to meticulously monitor the opening of unauthorized accounts in their names, I find it unacceptable that Chevron is already reporting a newly opened account in my name without clearly noting the transition matter in the customer’s records with the credit reporting agencies. While it may be standard procedure for corporations to do this, it is still an extremely poor policy.

The Chevron customer service representative that I spoke with let it slip that they have had a number of phone calls from concerned customers questioning this matter, which is indicative of the great deal of unnecessary time this is taking on the cutomer's part to investigate the situation.

I have written Chevron a letter requesting immediate closure of my long-held account and demanding that my credit records be properly adjusted to reflect the correct status. I don't need this type of aggravation, all because GE Money Bank cannot keep customers properly informed and implement proper reporting measures to the credit bureaus.

I am so worn out from this bad experience with GEMB. I also paid a bill in full prior to the expiration of the intro rate. They confirmed it but later sent a statement reversing the check and adding fees and interest, saying my bank wouldnt honor payment.. My bank actually was never contacted by GEMB for payment! This is such a scam I can't believe they are getting away with it. What can we do? This has gone on for 11 months for me... no response. Certainly no professionalism or ethics.

Good luck to all of you! I have had just about every experience with ge money that each of you has posted!

It began with the purchase of a motorcycle 4/06. I received my first loan payment notice 4/28/06, with a due date of 5/10/06. On 4/29/06 I mailed out a check for the amount due.

On 5/10/06 the phone began to ring... guess who.

After a brief, and rather "curt" discussion with a cs rep, I checked my online bank statement to find that ge's check cleared my bank on 5/4/06. I called that fabulous "800#" and wound up arguing with several cs reps and "managers" who insisted I was a deadbeat and trying to get out of paying my bill.

I let it go and waited for the next statement to arrive. Lo and behold, late fees for the month of May; the payment, which cleared my bank on May 4th, was not credited to my account until May12 by ge.

I travel frequently for business. I didn't take the time to immediately call them to straighten this matter out. Instead, I came home to an upset wife wanting to know why I hadn't sent ge a payment. Apparently they had been calling daily to remind me the June payment must reach them on time, even though it was not yet due; they claimed they were calling me out of courtesy because I was late the month before.

The events go on and on. I could fill up an entire server.

I am currently working with our state agencies to file charges of fraud and unfair collection practices.

I have filed with the BBB and the FTC but as one of you mentioned, this company does not care and does not respond to anyone.

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH GE MONEY BANK! YOU WILL REGRET IT!

GE Money Bank Nothing but a nightmare!

I have been having problems with Exxon/Mobil G. E. Money bank and Allied Collection Agency. It has been nothing short of a nightmare. I fell behind on some of my credit card bills due to family illness. On August 30th I received a call from Allied Collection agency. They informed me that I could accept a settlement to pay off and close the account. I wanted this account closed and wanted to get this bill paid off. So I accepted the offer to make two payments of $174. 00. The person at Allied said I could pay by check or debit card. I said that would be fine either way because my debit card comes from my checking account.

I gave them my debit card number and they asked me when I get paid so they could take out the money. I told them I get paid on the 6th of September and two weeks from then around the 14th they could take out the second payment of $174. 00.

Never during this conversation did they tell me that I had to mail in the second payment, nor did they give me an address. They just said that the payments would be taken out on those said dates. About a month went by and I did not hear from Exxon nor from Allied. Finally over a month later Exxon sent me a bill for 400 and some odd dollars. I called the 1-800 number on my Exxon statement and asked them why the account had not been paid off and closed. They informed me that it would take awhile to close the account but that everything was fine. Another month went by before I started to receive calls from Allied demanding payment and that I owed Exxon almost 500 dollars. I explained the payment deal that I made. I had to go back and review my checking information to see that they did NOT take out the second 174 dollar payment.

I informed Allied and Exxon of the situation. Allied told me that it was my fault for not mailing in the final payment and I broke the settlement contract. I informed them that they did not take out the second payment. Allied continued to argue with me stating that it was my fault for not mailing in the second payment. I again informed them that I was NEVER told to mail the second payment in. They continued to tell me they did tell me. I argued with them that if they did tell me to mail the payment in why don't I have an address or any account information to mail such a payment?

To make a very long story short Allied has been calling me 10 to 25 times a day up to 10 hours a day trying to collect this debt. I have spoken with at least 5 supervisors whom all tell me to contact Exxon to try and fix this debt. When I contact Exxon , Exxon tells me to contact Allied. I have written 3 letters to the G. E. Money bank which handles Exxon's accounts and no one has returned my calls or letters. Each time I call Exxon they direct me to different 1-800 numbers one of which was a ski resort! Allied has not stopped stalking me. Today they called 32 times. I spoke with one woman at Allied today and explained the entire situation to her again. She claims she spoke to her supervisor and said there is nothing I could do about it because I waited too long to resolve it. I informed her I have been in constant contact with Exxon and Allied since September and no one has responded or tried to resolve my problem. I informed her that I am more than willing to pay the 174 dollars that I agreed to, so the account can close but she refused to listen and began to yell at me to pay my bill. The woman did NOT speak very clear English and each time I have spoken with anyone at Exxon or Allied they all have very heavy accents from India. She refused to put her supervisor on and yelled at me to pay my bill. I finally told her I would be speaking to Exxon again which did no good.

Allied called every 10 to 15 minutes until 10 pm tonight. I work graveyard and am elderly. I can not unplug my phone because of a very elderly parent whom is dying. I must have my phone on. This situation as made me sick and has caused health problems. If anyone can help me please let me know. I am on a fixed income and just want to pay the 174 dollars, close the account and have this situation resolved so Allied stops STALKING me.

Incredible to see how many people got problems also with the six week body makeover, I paid to get this product delivered to my house, paid with my amex, I do not understand how they got my SS and made the report on my credit, this was a purchase not a credit, I was reading their forums on their webside
to find out that I am not the only one with the problem; most of us are getting a 479 to 92 collection on our credit report, we are forced to pay or to have a bad credit.

How many of you would like to get together and file a class action suit against Allied? Their harassment and intimidation tactics are in direct violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. They have cussed me up one side and down the other, threatened my husband’s job and refused to provide me with any backup to support the debt they claim I owe. If possible I suggest that you record all conversations you have with this agency to support you allegations, I know I am. I am also contacting an attorney to get more information on filing suit.

I had an Exxon card since 1976. Without notification they closed my account because they decided I didn't use it frequently enough. My credit with them, and everybody else is perfect. I asked the lady who could only say "Sorry about that" when I told her my account I've had since 1976 was closed without notification and asked if she would re-open the account she again "said sorry about that you can open another account". So I told her to please listen to what I think of ExxonMobile and shredded my credit card. Times like this I wish I could speak Eastern Indian.

I would like to know how I can resolve a problem with Exxon: after having many problems with them (they sent bill to wrong address; I was called by reps from foreign countries who had trouble understanding the issues involved; EM used GE Money Bank for a awhile & they screwed things up, etc) and having to convince them to drop late fees, etc., I finally closed my account. I had not used it in 4 months, yet my bill was over my limit. Writing and talking w/them on phone did not fix the problem. When I asked for closing amount the rep told me it did not include an unwarranted late fee. My check bounced (c. Chevy Chase takes over a week to clear large checks, local ones, but will clear your check in a minute). So that fee was added to toal; it turns out that total included an unwarranted late fee so I told them to use that to cover the returned check fee. They refused. They then kept my account open, charged me $10/mo, and added another $29/mo each time I refused to pay. As I was in sidoute with them at the time AND had closed my account, I would like to know how and why cc companies can get away with this? There is no local office to go to; no small claims court, no recourse: they can act capriciously and do, and then this ruins my credit more. Each other company jacked my APR up to almost 30% (which borders on usury) BECAUSE of these companies, NOT c. I was late paying them. I am unable to get another cc now with a decent APR, nor can i get a card w/more than $300.00 limit. This is all because of companies that offer to help you repair or build your credit and offer you very small credit limits: they then do NOT work with you or help build your credit. I have paid all other debts in a timely fashion, even when ill or unemployed. I had relocated & missed some payments. It is the cards witht the very small limits ($300) that seem to cause the most trouble! You are treated as those you owe them serious money: they also will try and charge you $32.00 when they let you go $1.29 over your limit. Cards can immediately be declined, and now some companies are not doing that, as they've found they can make 100's of millions of dollars by charging people over-the-limit fees instead of declining authorization. I am unable to have a card that offers me protection in an emergency, ie, one for less than 29.999% APR. All of my problems have centered around cards with a $300 limit. Certainly other people have gotten in the same jam & now have ruined credit and/or are paying companies monies not owed JUST to try & fix the problem. I will not pay EM another cent: I did not use my card; they screwed things up; they had different reps calling me; letters were ignored, and now their reps call several times a week. The original $29.00 is now a supposed legitimate $142.00. IS there ANY way to deal with this sort of thing? Why do cc companies have the right to charge fees while in dispute w/customers? Is it legal to charge fees for disputed fees not paid? This is a form of legal theft: this is not credit used by me, these are fees charged by them and they may not be in the right, so why can they sit back & stack up fees and the consumer has no way to have their side really dealt with: how can the companies be judge and jury? Why are they allowed to charge fees that local companies could not get away with? Why is Their decision the only true/valid/right one? Of course they will decide, "after reviewing the facts", in their own favor! What can a consumer do and why isn't their more information to warn people that those companies offering help rarely do, and it makes little sense to have small card limits w/o automatic payments from a bank, c. things come up, a payment is late and then your $300 is used up in annual fees, late fees, etc., so you get 125 for a supposed 300 offer & then are at risk to end up paying hundreds for the use of that supposed 300 if you are late on a $15 payment. Also, why are companies allowed to raise your APR when your account with them is up-to-date? Thank you!

How do I stop the collection agency from contacting me?

Under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, if you notify the collection agency IN WRITING that you want it to cease further communication with you, the collection agency cannot communicate with you further except:

* to advise you that it is stopping its effort to collect the debt; or
* to advise you that the collection agency intends to take action, such as bringing a lawsuit against you.

This law applies whether you owe the debt or not. If you write such a letter to a collection agency, be sure it includes the following:

* Your name and address and, if available, the account number on the statement received from the collection agency;
* The date;
* A statement that you are exercising your rights under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act; and
* A statement that you want the collection agency to stop calling or writing you, or both.

See sample letter "B." BE SURE TO KEEP A COPY OF THIS LETTER. Mail the original to the collection agency, with a copy to the original creditor.

THE LETTER MUST BE SENT TO THE COLLECTION AGENCY. If, after you send the letter, the collection agency contacts you again for some reason other than the two reasons stated above, the collection agency has violated the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. Under this law, you have the right to bring an action against the collection agency for money damages and lawyer fees. THIS WILL NOT STOP THE COLLECTION AGENCY FROM SUING YOU FOR THIS DEBT. IT ONLY STOPS CALLS AND LETTERS FROM THE COLLECTION AGENCY TO YOU.

This statement came from a website call LawHelp http://www.lawhelp.org/WA/showdocument.cfm/County/%20/City/%20/demoMode/=%201/Language/1/State/WA/TextOnly/N/ZipCode/%20/LoggedIn/0/rpc/1020100/doctype/dynamicdoc/ichannelprofileid/13862/idynamicdocid/1642/iorganizationid/1553/itopicID/859/iProblemCodeID/1020100/iChannelID/7/isubtopicid/1/iproblemcodeid/1020100#200d. I have never had the misfortune to be harassed by collection agencies every day, but have been told by many financial experts that if we tell the harassing creditor to stop calling because they are causing undue stress, they have to legally stop calling. If they continue to call, then they are in federal violation and you need to contact the FTC to let them know.

I had a DIRECT TV bill go to collection with Allied, and was hoping to have them remove the collection from my credit report, since the bills were being paid by someone else at a different address, therefore leaving me unaware of the balance due. But, from what I have read, it looks like I will have an uphill battle with them. Yippee...

Good luck, and make sure you tell the harassers to stop calling because they are causing undue stress. They are supposed to stop.

I too am currently being stalked by this unreasonable company. My experience with them is almost a carbon copy of yours with only a few details changed.

The nature of my supposed 'debt' is to the Doubleday Book Club. After sending written notification to them to quit the club, they continued to send me their monthly mailings. Because I considered that I was not a member any longer, I threw them away. When they eventually sent the books, I marked them all 'Return to Sender' unopened, and sent a second and eventually a third letter to them saying that I was cancelling! Eventually the mailings stopped but they billed my approx $42.00 for books they said I received and never paid for. It is impossible. I always paid for all my books promptly when I was a member and when I attempted to quit I was in good standing.

I replied to the bills by returning them with the payment stub with the words "Books were returned!" and left it at that.

About 3 or 4 months later, Allied Collection Agency starts calling. Every day. Without fail. Sometimes more than once a day. And they are still calling! Always the person is speaking with such a thick Indian accent that I can barely understand him/her. I have explained the whole story to various assistors and 'supervisors' and always with the same result. "Thank you. I will notate that, but the calls will continue." This place is driving me nuts, but I refuse to be bullied and harassed into a debt I don't owe. I wish I knew what my legal options were.

GE Money Bank Late fee charge - scam!

Due date 1/13/07 - called to make payment by phone was advised needed checking acct. nmbr. and there would be a 15.00 chg. or could pay online to avoid fee. Went to computer to pay online where payment would not be late, did not take check book with me, they do not accept credit cards. Had paid online before - auto input for routing nmbr. but did not auto input acct nmbr. Went online on my bank and sent payment in that way, printing receipt - Received bill on 27th, charged a late fee of 29.00 - called and spoke with Mike #1187 and he advised me since they did not have payment in by 5pm on the 13th a late fee applied. I advised him I had receipt that it was paid before 5pm on 13th - he said since it was not on their website it did not count that I should have pd the 15fee it would have been cheaper - or pd sooner and it would not have been late, I thanked him for his advice on how to manage my busy schedule but payment was sent on time.

To the orignal poster :

You paid late. Period. End of Story. That's how the cookie crumbles. There is a service charge whenver you make a payment via phone no matter who you deal with, what planet are you from?

~ What don't you get, if you pay late, you're getting charged a fee! How hard is it to pay your bill on time. This company LOANED YOUUUUUU money. Pay them back and quityer[censored]en.

They don't run the postal service, no one does, so if you sent your payment in the mail, and it didnt make it till after the due date, here's a choice, start walking it in to a payment location. We live in technically advanced times, there's always somewhere you can walk in a payment to.

Stop relying on the mail and using it for an excuse when your payment is due on the 1st, don't mail it on the 31st and expect it to get there on time.

I have been trying to resolve my account with JC Pennys since early April. I sent the balance of my account long before the due date & it was not posted until after a late fee was charged & I got a collection call demanding payment. After ordering much more, I then sent a check for $1067.70 to close that one on 03/23/2007. It was not posted to my account until 04/10/2007 (after late fees). I returned some items that did not work totaling $401.16. Of that, they sent me only $311.09. I contend that they still owe me money for all the late fees & the remainder of the returned merchandise.

Would appreciate it if you could help me with this matter.

I had two accounts with GE Money Bank. One of them had a zero balance, the other was in a 6 month no interest period. The payment due date was the 14th of each month. On 12/26 an online payment was mailed from my credit union to the bank. The payment did not post until the 15th, which caused a late charge and the 0% period to expire. I called the bank and demanded the late payment be removed and 0% reinstated. As a "courtesy" they did. The very next month, I submitted the payment on the 26th, which arrived and was posted on the 31st. Amazing that it took only 5 days this time, but 20 the last. However, this time, they posted it to the account with a zero balance causing another late fee and the 0% period to expire again. I was advised they could not remove the late payment again as it "was not their fault" it was posted to the wrong account and that I should have been more careful with my payments. This company continues to create scams to make money however they can.

I have a Care Credit card from my lasik with a billing cycle of the 6th. I made 2 payments in the month of January. One on the 3rd, 3 days before the payment was due, and one on the 5th for February. The payment on the third was fine. Unfortunately, since they received the 2nd payment on the 5th, I got charged a late payment fee for February because the payment was 1 day before the end of the billing cycle. I have never had a late payment fee because a payment was 1 day EARLY! Luckily, I sent March's on the 7th of February. $30.50 is what I was charged because they received a payment 1 day early.

So, I call... And the representative on the phone will not do anything, so I speak to a Supervisor named Dawn. She then says this isn't the first time I've received a late payment charge so there is nothing she can do for me. Apparently, I sent October's payment out on time (9/15) but November's payment was sent out on 10/05. Again. Me and my early payments. So now I'm up to $61.00. Luckily again, December's payment went out on 11/07.

I've not ever been delinquent with my payments. I prefer to pay early as opposed to late. Since September, I have made 9 payments to GE Money Bank. All of them at least triple the payment due. Does anyone else feel that this is ridiculous? Is it even legal?

To me, this is preposterous. Even worse so, was how rudely I was treated on the phone by the representative and her supervisor. The supervisor hung up on me! I'm a good consumer. I pay my bills and I pay them well before the due date. I hate getting ripped off by Credit Card companies. Apparently if you're not going to be paying the extreme amounts of interest on your card, they need to get money from you somehow so they'll invent ways.

GE Money Bank This company is ripping people off!

I had Dental work done with in a two week period. The bill $10k each time was submitted separately. This month we received a bill from GE indicating they had charged my account a 3k finance chg for a promotional fee that had to have been paid by 01/17. The new bill totally NEW format came in Jan. and it was the first time ever that these charges were highlighted. I called and asked if I could pay the whole amount off today, because in feb 02/07 They're hitting me with another $5k. I spoke with a supervisor Brock. He was extremely rude. I indicated I plan on writing to the President of the company, since as far as I am concerned there are very misleading on the promotional fee charges. If we hadn't caught this we would have been paying a 26% interest fee. Back dated 18 months. The way the program was described to me was that there was no interest until after 18 mo. WHAT A RIP OFF.

I was approved for a Walmart Credit card last year with a credit line of $3, 000! I used the card only twice and kept the balance at ZERO and my card expired. Walmart has me apply for the card again and this time I get a letter from GE Money Bank with a check mark next to a box that says: If checked here, the request was judgmentally reviewed and denied for the following reason: PREVIOUS APPLICATION APPROVED. I made a payment on the internet, but instead of $400.00, $4000.00 was sent. When I called to stop this payment I was told by the supervisor in India "Carol Smith" that "the system cannot stop electronic transfers". I was told that since my balance was only $1000.00 "They would send me a check for $3000.00 and I would have to wait to get my money. I asked to speak to someone above Carol Smith and she informed me that there was "no one else to talk to". I would think that a company as large as GE would be using State of the Art systems by now, or is this another way to rip off the consumer? I know I'll never do business with a company that uses GE Money Bank ever again.

GE Money Bank Finance charges before due date

I also had one payment left on my $3000.00 loan for an elliptical Runner. My promotional period was set to expire on 2/15/07. Today in the mail I received a new bill with the full interest over the life of the loan now due in Full. A full month ahead of the specified period. I just got off the phone having spoken to 3 different outsourced call centers and various levels of "management" who all said that even though I'm trying to pay my Balance (minus the suddenly due interest) that they can't ..and won't waive the charges. I work at a bank and we have the ability to waive ANY fee's we charge as a financial institution. I know GE Money has the same capabilities.

Why is there no recourse for people getting ripped off by this company, or whatever it is? I just went round and round with a person from India. I think I got the late fee removed, but after reading these comments, who knows? It happened because of their idiotic web site, which has you turning the auto pay off and on. This seems to me to be a total ripoff, for unsuspecting customers. You make an extra payment, which somehow turns off the auto payment? Come on! I do a lot of online payments, none of the other sites are set up to screw you. Who has control over these practices?

The more consumers that can access reliable information in a timely manner to better

Ge Money is truly the most insidious of credit companies I have yet to deal with. I took the loan when my dentist pushed it toward me without reading the fine print. I was, in fact, in arrears for paying off the loan within the "free interest" grace period. It was a tough blow to be assessed such huge penalties, but I paid. When I finally realized they were not crediting me for the amounts I wished to pay on line and were assessing more charges I took a small personal loan from my credit union to be done with these vultures. Not to be. I cannot no matter how hard I try rid myself of these thieves. I sent my final payment registered mail even though it was not actually owed to them. GE took the money, on-line from a bank account that was closed and are now charging me not only for the money I did not owe but already paid, but they want it again and they are charging me for bouncing a check and all manner of other charges.
I have documented as much as I possibly could as I began to realize the horrific nature of this institution. I am fighting back with letters to my Attorney General in Michigan, my state Senator and Representative and calling or writing each and every better business organizaion that will listen. These people need and deserve a well publicized class action lawsuit. Who will represent us? How do we go public?

I've had similar problems with a 1-year no-interest credit card offer on a purchase. Over $600 of finance charges on an original $2400 purchase. I've filed complaints with the Better Business Bureau, but no luck. GEMB has predatory, unethical practices and I would definitely sign on for a class action suit.
