GE CRB Amazon
Amazon
This is a letter for dispute and for CEO of GE CBR Amazon.
This all starts back when I purchased this camera from Amazon. I received the camera in broken condition. It never worked correctly. I called the company that sold me the camera system on Amazon and a Manager told me to send it back in the prepaid packing slip that he would send me on an email. I boxed this up and sent it back for a refund. Then about a week later I get a package back from the vendor and it’s the original camera I sent back for a refund. When I open the box it was thrown in the box with no bubble wrap and it was flopping around. Also it had some of the lenses missing and the power cords. I then called the company and they told me that it was pass the return date and they could not accept it. I told him that a Manager told me that you would take it back due to the camera was broken when I got it. He told me that I was full of crap and I am stuck with it. I told him that it was broken and he said to send it to cannon and hung the phone up on me. I then called Amazon for a dispute to get my money back. They then told me around two weeks later that it was a 3rd party company and they could not do anything about it. They told me to call GE Amazon Card and dispute it. I then called GE to see what can be done. I spoke to customer service and they told me that they would put in a dispute for me and that I would get some paperwork in the mail. I got the paperwork in the mail and sent it back in. Time went by and I did not hear anything, then I got a bill in the mail with some late charges on it and also it showed past due notice. At this point I was worried about my perfect credit. I then called back in to GE and got a very rude lady on the phone. I then asked to speak to her supervisor and she put me on hold and around 5 minutes. Then a lady by the name of Vivian at ext 4058 got on the phone on 9/19/12. I told her my whole story and she told me that the late charges would be taken off and that she would send over to the dispute department to have this credited back to my account and they would charge back Amazon. I trusted her and she gave me her name and extension. Well some time went by and I did not hear anything from GE and then I got another bill. I called into GE and got on the phone with Abbi at ext 5185 on 10/31/11. I told her the same story of what was going on and she told me that she would try to get in touch with Vivian. I was then put on hold for 10 minutes. After being on hold she told me that she could not get in touch with Vivian. She told me that she would take care of this and I would get a bill with a 0.00 balance on it. She also credited the late charges for me and said that it was taken care of. Well that did not happen as you can tell. I then called back into the call center and this time got the rudest man on the phone that I have ever dealt with in my entire life. His name was Richard Gregory and he would not give me his extension and I hope you may find him in the notes. He should not be talking to customers. He told me that he would send me a new dispute form to fill out and I would have to start this process all over. I was very upset at this point. I have been very patience to this point. I then waited for these papers that never came and then I called one more time. The lady I got on the phone could barely speak English and she said that she would send an email to Vivian the original lady I spoke to. Guess what? I have not got a call back or an email or any more paperwork. Today I got a bill in the mail with late fees and past due amounts. I am not going to pay for this. You need to remove the amount of the camera and all of the past due amounts from my account. Also I checked my credit report today and there is a bad mark on it. Please also have this removed from the credit reports. Please let me know when this is all taken care of.
Sincerely
Michael J Sheets

insane interest payments
I accepted a 11K loan in 2007. I was told it was a 5 year loan and I would be responsible for 60 monthly payments of 262.04 and the loan would be paid off. In 2010, I saw I still had 8000 to pay off. I have never missed a payment and now, today, my payoff amount is 9400. When I called up I was told I still had 62 installments, so 62 months left to pay it off. After making calculations, this is going to cost me 30K for an 11K loan. Customer service cannot explain to me how any of this is possible.

Constant, all day phone calls
I have been getting numerous calls from GE Money on my home phone for about 10 days now, 10 to 12 calls a day, even on SUNDAY! I don’t answer these calls as ALL my bills are paid on time, every month! They never left a message.
Finally I got fed up with seeing they had been calling and turned my home phone ringer off, I then called the number from the caller ID and got the credit department at JC Penney. I ended up talking to THREE people before getting an “account specialist”. All had India accents.
I told the man that they could clearly see my account has been paid ON TIME, EVERY MONTH. He confirmed this, and he said “is it possible you have someone else on your account using your card”? Ummm…no. I check my statement every month. He said it was possible someone else is using my home number as their contact. I then asked the man to PLEASE check his records by searching my home number to make sure my account is the ONLY account registered to the phone number. He told me he couldn’t give me that information. I protested telling him I wanted the calls to stop, that he could see that my account is CURRENT and NOT past due, and to PLEASE get to the bottom of the issue and find out why they are calling me. I do think someone used MY number as their contact, and their account is past due, thus the calls.
The man promised me that the calls would stop.
A half hour later I saw that they once again had called! If it continues I will send them a certified letter via snail-mail demanding they stop with dates and time I *tried* to get this issue resolved. If that fails I will be contacting the F.T.C.
I frankly told the man that I would be scouring my credit and there had better not be anything false or wrongly added to my credit file because someone is using my home number for their delinquent JC Penney charge account. The man told me they don’t report to credit bureaus accounts based on phone numbers.
I just hope I am not a victim of identity theft.
Late fee charges
Here is my GE Money complaint. I purchased flooring on 11/18/11 and financed the amount at a promotional rate of 0% for 1 year through GE Money. GE Money then contacted me by mail and offered to set up automatic payments by logging into my account online. Great I thought, I don't have to worry going over the 1 year promotional period.. I logged into my online account, took the total I owed, divided it by 6 to pay it off in 6 months, and set up the first payment for 12/2/11. Note this is less than a month after my purchase. When I set this up, GE Money had yet to send me a bill with my first payment date. On 12/2/12, GE Money withdrew my monthly payment from my account, so I figured I was all set.
In January 2012, I open my mailed statement and I see that I was hit with a late fee. So I call GE Money and they said my payment was late. I explained to the rep my situation and he refunds me the late fee. So today I happen to jump onto my online GE Money account to see if they hit me again, and low and behold, they did. I again see my payments made, and tacked on late fees. I contact GE Money, again explain the situation, and they remove the late fee. He tells me even though I set up auto payments, the payment date is behind the due date. Any accountant could explain that my original payment less than a month after purchase puts my original payment then following payments on time and before the due date. Why argue with someone answering the phone 12 time zones away. So I go in my online account to modify my auto pay date 3 days prior to due date. That is when I see a $2.00 interest charge. HELLO! What is there not to understand about 0% finance. This is a total scam to think you paid your account in full, leave a small balance on an account, then wack a person with late fees. I have seen GE Money reply to other posts. GE Money management, I would love to hear from you. This is someone who pays ALL their bills on time and has an outstanding credit rating. I attached a picture copy of my e-statement original purchase and payment as proof.
I got 12 months no interest on a couch last year and have it just about paid off. I logged into this new site you have (which is not very user friendly - you guys make it pretty hard to register) and notice that not only is my account past due (despite the fact that I've made monthly payments well over the minimum each month), but I have 2 late fee charges. This may seem minor to some people on here, but I keep good track of my finances and have never run into this sort of scam. So I paid $200 on March 9th, which, I'll admit was 7 days late (minimum payment was $25), then apparently they charged me another late fee for April because the remaining $175 couldn't apply to April's payment. The customer service guy claimed that I would not have received the late charge if I had paid on the 10th instead of the 9th. Apparently the statements go out on the 9th, so if I had paid on the 10th INSTEAD of the 9th my payment would have been applied to April's statement and I would have only received 1 late fee. This is garbage and sounds illegal. Very convenient timing. Also, I can't see payments made on the account prior to September 9th, 2011 because "the system doesn't go back that far" according to the customer service representative. He claimed I would have to provide a written request to view this information. How convenient.
I would hope something with the GE name would run a little smoother than this. I've had 3 other credit cards for over 3 years now and never had any sort of problem. This experience was a little disturbing. I've seen the CEO of GE speak, and I'm not sure he would condone this sort of operation as helping to pull the US out of recession as he likes to talk about. Hell, he was on the President's economic recovery advisory board.
Please note...I have made a payment in excess of $25 every month since I've had the account. Most of these payments were $100 each.

Mega Best Brands Card
I purchased a couch in April 2009 from a local store in my former town. I used my Best Brand GE card. The problem is that I prepaid all taxes foor this couch to the store and put up some earnest money on the couch too totaling $149, 00. I put the rest of what I owed on this card. I asked the clerk not to put it under same as 90 day cash. Well, I also called GE Money Bank and told them this same thing. This transaction was not to be a 90 day same as cash. So the first month was fine. I paid $69.00 on this purchase to this card. The second month I paid $49.00 toward the purchase. The third month, well guess what was on my bill, my interest was assumed for not paying off the couch in 90 days. That was the banks fault. I called them and they said the would take that off. It was not on my bill the next month. So now I am paying this bill at regular payments of $29.00 being taken out of my checking account online. By now I have gotten this bill down to $450.00 as of June 2010. I paid all the other bills on time, not late and online. Iget this phone call in September from this angry man, saying I owe $750 on this couch that I bought in June 2010 and that I need to pay for it. I went out my bill out and checked and they don't correspond with what this man said. I asked him to let me talk to his supervisor and he said no. I also told him that the call was being recorded for quality purposes and training, through GE Money and he said he didn't care. He was rude and nasty. I called GE Money Bank about this later that day and my balance was $418.93. I asked them how this man got what he did out of my account. My account was sent to a collection agency after I quit paying on it because this man kept calling me. What happened was this account went to a section where the accounts accured the interest to the 90 days, but my account was not suppose to go there. They were trying to get me to pay interest three times on the same account.
I remember reading about that. She sued GEMB for the same reason I should sue.
And Stupid 34, how do you know? He might just be a Federal Agent working with the FBI or Secret Service. He may not even be a he.
Never thought it would happen to me. It was always other people. I am disabled, so that helps. I majored in college in Sociology Criminology in the seventies. I had to take some Political Science classes, so I know how to read law books and I do understand law. I am not an attorney and I am not a paralegal, yet I have been paralegal work on this and the other one that was dropped.
You do not know how many collectors get on here and get real nosey. That is what I thought when you first came on. And like attorneys there is what if. Yes I am nervous, but this has to be done. If I can stand up for myself, I hope to show others that they can too. I would love to sue GECC though.
What is your stanse in knowing what is going on? Are you an attorney in another state?
I did this already. My court date set Oct. 30. I was planning to use my interrogatory questions in court. RE: This is the JDBC who doesn't file anything back.
I suppose I am having a conversation with you. I guess you are okay. Are you okay with this? I found my paperwork and my bank statments and I am going over them with a fine tooth comb. Yes they did indeed deducted payments from my bank account illegally and I was also sending them in payments. I am checking this with my accounts file to see if I made a mistake. So far the only mistake I have made was not catching the GEMB sooner, by gee they help me get that paid off. As of February 2010, my balance which includes interest is $183.75. Which this would made sense to have it completely paid off in August of 2010. After I get this all together and on a spread sheet, do you reckon I ought to send it to the JBDC? I will of course have this notarized at my bank.
Sorry i came at you. I am in the process of fighting another JDBC, who has not sent anything to prove that the account they have taken me to court on is mine. Tuesday, I am filing the motion to set a court date and call to get the date. They filed a suit in December 2011 with no account number. In my state, without the account number this could be anyone's account. Our Court Rules say the suit has to identify the defendant. Just merely stating that you have brought a suit agianst someone in a store's name does not prove that the account belongs to you. I guess they didn't have the account number and thought I would supply it. I do not have to do that. My reply to the Summons was "This Claim nor the affidavit has an account number on it. So this not my account."
I have given them ample enough time to amend the account number. I sent them interrogatories and asked for documents and things along with admissions. They filed the admissions, but nothing else. I had to file the motion to compel back at the beginning of July and their 30 days are up on that. So it is time to set the court date so I can persuade the Honor Judge in this matter to force them to compel or dismiss with prejudice. The other cause was dismiss by the Plaintiff's attorney in that if this went to trial he won't be an attorney in this state any more. Plaintiff does not own that particular account. This attorney does. It would be very hard for him to show their claim and prove their claim, because I kept all my paperwork that this attorney's office sent me and nowhere had anything I had ever been sent had the Plaintiff's name on it.
You should not have posted the way you did. You did not help by saying I had not paid my bills or even thinking that I didn't. Shame on you. For matter of fact I have already done what you said way before you said it. That was before I even posted here. I do stand my ground and still won't be intimidated by the bottom feeders or even those on the top. I was not picking a fight with you, but to say I had this complaint, but sometimes people feel that they may have the same story and they come here to ask questions. I did not ask a question. I made a statement. Also I have had other complaints with this same company GECC on other accounts. Their people just do not know how to enter payments in the system or their computers stay down alot, especially right at time to pay the bill online.
This man, this is none of your business. I would not want to have to get a court order to find out who you are and then have to sue you for threatening me. Oh and I can have FDCPA look at this and tell you the same thing. Look I am a success person at what i do and it is going after junk debt buyers and other people so if you don't mine keep your comments to yourself. Most of these bottom feeders do not have all the information they say they have or they would send it all on request within the thirties days they have to prove themselves. If they donot send all the items requested then they will be liable in court. I just will not pay someone who screwed up an account and I want be intimidated either.
My account was sent to collections (third party). I just happen to see my GEMB folder and to my surprize this very account was paid of in August 2010. How could GEMB take a credit and turn it into a debt? I am either going to file a lawsuit on GE and the Collection agency or if the collection agency will accept what I have on file that they can't get, then I will sue GECC for a scam.
Don't listen to th!sman he is scammer and thief.
Payment not credited
I made a payment to GE Money LOC, PO Box 530913, Atlanta, Ga [protected] with telephone no. [protected] on 7/2/2008 in the amount of $369.61 to my acct. no. [protected], online through my bank account Chase. After a few days, GE called me that my account is past due and that there is no payment made. I told them I already made my payment on 7/2/2008 but GE told me that they did not receive my payment. I called my bank, Chase told me that they already remitted my payment to GE and that I have to call GE. I called GE but they could not track my payment. To maintain my credit name, I agreed to make another payment for the same amount on 7/7/2008, with the thought that they might find the first one later. Until now, after almost 4 years, that first payment was never credited. I have other accounts with GE that were all fully paid. Can you help me, in the name of consumer protection, if they might have credited those accounts in error and must have produced a credit balance that is suppose to be returned to me. Those accts. are the following, GE Capital Financial, Inc, address PO Box 79110, Phoenix, AZ [protected], Telephone no. [protected], acct. no. [protected] and GE Money Bank, address PO Box 960061, Orlando, Fl [protected], telephone no. [protected], Acct. No. [protected]. $369.61 is a big hard earned money for me and until now I still hope to recover it. Thank you very much.
I requested a lower monthly payment from Ge Money twice April of 2008 and September 2009 both times over the phone I was told that payment would lower both time they continue to bill me the amount prior to lower payment approval. they are not getting the point if my payments are not lower I will not be able to continue making payments.
Gap Visa Closure
Hi! I'm writing because I'm extremely upset at Ge Money Bank. I had a mistake last month with a pymt on my Gap Visa card. The issue was I'm in the process of switching from 1 bank to another. During the switch I didn't realize I hadn't updated my bank information. To make my balance an even number I paid a minimal about of $1.83 as I had already made my pymt that month. A few days later I logged into my account and it said my account had been closed. I immediately transferred money over to my old account and paid off balance in full. I think called and spoke to a young lady at Ge money bank who understood my situation and promptly re-opened my account. Today I receive a letter in the mail stating my account has been closed. The lady I spoke with advised this was rectify situation. I attempted calling today to speak again of my situation and was not helped. I am attempting to reopen my account as I have other accounts with Ge money, but I may not keep but close due to this situation. I love the Gap and up until this point Ge money and would like my account reopened with it's credit line intact etc.
Never e-mail to someone called bamagirl sounds like a stripper. GE Gap is a new scam by Gap to create Visa Gap cards which no one wants or needs. To get a live person say agent, agent, agent, then voice recognition will connect to a live person. Absurd isn't it!

1099C
IN 2010 GE MONEY BANK charged off several of my accounts. Fancy that! As I was gathering my papers to put in the tax folder, I suddenly I wanted to get some info on the 1099Cs from the IRS Tax Lawyer. This is what I found out. If you got any of these from [protected] and didn't know what to do with them, you need to send them to the IRS as income. Now here's another story. If you didn't get any and they were charge off and you got debt collectors taking you to court, make them prove that they have full ownership by proving that they received all paperwork including the copy of this 1099C. Why? Technically if they can't prove this they aren't the true owners. Until GEMB Retail sends you your copy of the 1099C to file with your taxes as income, they still legally own the account. That means Security Credit Services, LLC, Midland Funding and MCM, and all you other collection agencies suing can do so as owners, because you fricken don't own the accounts.
Crooks
Watch out for GE Money Bank when you use them they get you on interest if you make a payment make sure you get credit if not you will be paying them for ever. I have a Lowes card through GE Money bank make pay-ment every month on time but GE still charge me late fees. My balance went from $700 to oweing them over $1200 in a couple of months stay away from opening a Lowes credit card if they use GE Money Bank.
Crooks- they GE will tell you a lie in a split second DO NOT trust them. IF there is any one out there like myself I want to get a Class Action law suit againt GE Money Bank for all the wrong they have did to people like myself and others. Come on lets do this and get Banks like this to do the right thing.
I am not doing anymore business with GE money bank. You cannot understand their service representatives ( based in India) and they just laugh at you when you try to get any information from them. I was suppose to get a promotional deferred interest on my dental procedure. I got my statement and they are soaking me for 15% interest on my loan...what a bunch of crooks. I won't do business with them anymore. I am transferring my balance to a 0% percent rate on another credit card and cancelling carecredit or ge money. I recommend if all who are having this problem do the same if you are able. Oh, and good luck running down their address...doesn't seem to be posted on their carecredit web site...what's up with that? Don't you all think that's a bit sneaky to say the least?

I have the same problem, who ever heard of any credit care charging a monthly fee and at the same time promote being interest free for x number of months. I paid early and they claimed I was late! How insane, I'm looking into seeing if the attorney general or whoever to investigate their practice, this is predatory lending if there ever was one!
Scam
This company is a scam. I needed dental work to be done. Wanted to use my credit and logged into the website to see that my account was closed. It was closed because of inactivity. Sorry that I did not have a reason to go to the hospital or the dentist. Not only that when I was trying to find out why they said because of inactivity and if I wanted the credit I would have to reapply. I wanted them to resend the letter with information on why the account was closed in June 2011. Was given two different numbers-[protected] and [protected] ext 42138 and none of them worked. What a scam. Next, I spoke with a manager named Matt and he told me that they have only two ways to report it: Closed as credit grantor or buy the consumer. I asked for it to be changed and he said that he cannot do it. WTF. I don't want this to be seen on my report as something that I did not pay for. It looks bad to be seen as closed by credit grantor. Why can't this be changed. Lawsuit?

This is company is a financial Parana! They have no grace period (our electronic) payment was 2 days late and because there were other late charges (three and you're out) that were easily explainable...for instance...a double payment (several hundred dollars) within the billing cycle (by a day or two) and thinking that we had made that payment for the next billing cycle...Anyway, 3 strikes and you get charged the FULL interest. They had the nerve to charge us interest on a deferred charge that was PAID OFF the previous month! Our interest in now @ 30%!. We borrowed on our insurance policies to pay off the $4913.68 due within this billing cycle and now SHOULD HAVE a zero balance...given the horror that this company is, I'm sure they'll find a way to add charges to next months bill. Today we are going to cancel that card and next month pay off a loan with another area of GE Finance. Wow, we thought Capital One Credit Card was bad but this company has them beat by a country mile! BTW, their Customer Service Reps are androids, not human...they should all live and be well...far away from us!
I paid my care credit card online on the due date; approx 5:06 in the
afternoon and was charged a late fee of $39. They tell me if its one minute after 5p.m. it gets posted to the next business day. Therefore
not able to reverse the charges being that it was posted after the date I was online.
How can they get away with this nonsense. Its highway robery!
If it gets taken out of my checking account on friday why should there be a late fee?

I love GE Money BANK now known as GE CAPITAL RETAIL BANK.. Iwas late once on a payment and they waived it and said that they always waive once in a twelve month period as a courtesy.. How nice of them to give me a chance when it was my fault to begin with. I am going to buy a new bedroom and living room set this weekend and am driving an extra 30 miles to go to the store that uses GE CAPITAL as their finance company. I would recommend this finance company to anyone that comes into contact with them. GREAT RATES.. GREAT SERVICE ! Do not let those other guys with the negative comments fool you, all they really expect is for you to be responsbile for your end of the deal.. which means PAY YOUR BILL.. and you will be fine :)
Do not get involved with this company!
I went to the website to find out how much credit I had left and saw an almost 900 dollars finance charge! I called the company and they said that my interest free year had run out 3 days before. I explained I had just returned home from taking my son to the Air Force Academy and was just sitting do to do my bills. All they would say was "You were warned!" over and over again. No, I wasn't warned. I received nothing from them. I knew I had to pay them in June 2010. They purposely moved the date up so they could get their money. I know the date I used the card one year ago-June 26, 2009 so why is it now June 17? I have no idea what to do with these people so all I can do is warn everyone else. Do not get involved with this company!

Do not let those other guys with the negative comments fool you, all they really expect is for you to be responsbile for your end of the deal.. which means PAY YOUR BILL.. and you will be fine :)

My daughter who still lives at home, was having problems with her teeth before we lost our home to foreclosure and when we moved to where we now are, she continued to have problems plus was on antibiotics almost continually for 2 years because of teeth and no money for her to get them tended to. She went to a franchise dental office and she wasn't even working at the time (she has a medical problem where she is loaded with Candida from all the antibiotics she took for 2 years and can't work) and they offered her Care Credit. When she came home, I questioned right away why she would have gotten Care Credit when she wasn't working but we figured at least she got some of the problems corrected, not all. Now, almost 2 years later, she is still having problems with the one tooth that they did a root canal to, her Care Credit bill is up over $2, 000 (was originally around $1600-$1700). She feels they did not take all the nerve out and that is why she's having problems with it still but that isn't the main problem--we are getting phone calls about the bill, like someone else said on here, 5-7 times per day, 7 days/week. They even start calling before 9 a.m. in the morning which I don't think they are allowed to do but do it. The are very persistent if you answer the phone. I'm just tired of the whole thing--the bill is going up and up because if you don't pay the bill by the due date, they are adding late charges, overlimit charges and who knows what else! How do we get help with this! My daughter can't work because of her physical problem (because her immune system is very, very run down) so we have to pay her bill for this and we are swamped with bills right (my son lost his job before we lost our home, needed get his GED, just got that done but needs to get his vehicle fixed so he can at least get a part time job and then go to computer school in the spring and we are helping him with his bills also. It just isn't fair that companies like GE Money Bank prey on poor people and we need to get help but where do we go? She only has this bill and one other one that we have to pay and the Care Credit one is going up and up and up! What to do?
Banana Republic Account
On December 14, 2010 I was offered a payment plan by GE Money Bank/(GE Capital Retail Bank possible name changed effective October 1, 2011). GE Money provided a written letter stating the terms of the payment plan. According to the letter GE Money Bank was supposed to deduct a monthly amount of twenty dollars ($20.00) from my bank account every month starting on December 20, 2010.
In addition, to the $20.00 deduction, GE Money Bank is also charging a monthly amount at thirty five dollars ($35.00) without proper notification and without my consent. Furthermore, this extra $35.00 charge was never mentioned verbally when the payment plan was established on December 14, 2010 nor have GE Money Bank provided any written documentation with regard to the $35.00 deduction.
On September 13, 2011 I called GE Money Bank to obtain a balance on my account. To my surprise the balance was arounde $475.58 when the original balance on December 14, 2010 was $237.90. I immediately asked the representative to explain why the balance was so high. The representative indicated that $35.oo was charged because of late fees. I challenged the representative because how could I make a late payment, if GE Money Bank was deducting $20.oo monthly from my account? Then, I asked for the manager and the manager indicated this $35.00 charge was included in the initial plan. This statement is totally incorrect. It was never notified by GE Money Bank of the $35.00 deduction.
At this point GE has charged an extra $315.00 that is, $35.00 each monht and plus taxes starting December 20, 2010. I have attempted unsuccessfully to resolve this matter. GE Money Bank is charging money without people's consent or without providing any written notice. At this jucture, I have invested a lot of time and energy with GE Money Bank without a resolution. I have requested GE Money Bank to stop the $20.00 payment monthly that have been deducted on time every month and to stop taking money out of my bank account or stop using any card provide in the past for payment due to this issue.
As a result, I have decided to sue GE Money Bank in order to obtain justice. GE Money Bank has only provided an address which located in Atlanta, GA. It has being hard to find out if they have another address within the six district in Long Island or within the five borough in New York. I would like to find out what would be the correct location to make my complaint to the court of small claims. If you can help please e-mail me at [protected]@yahoo.com.
Thank you very much,
Wendy
We ran into similar problems with them. We pay our bill every month. The bill is due on the 14th for $20. Well this month our bill said $77, so I called to find out why. Our payment for May was not processed until the $15th, hence a $20 late fee. That means a late fee equal to our monthly bill. Then for June, the payment was not processed until the 17th, so another late fee, but this time for $35. Plus interest on the late fee’s as well. We are interest free on our loan, until 2016, but they can charge a late fee for them processing the payment after the due date, and then charge interest on that late fee. Also the late fee’s were applied to the account on the actual due date. So they were charging us a late fee on the date the bill was due. Which means even if the payment had been processed on the due date, we still would have incurred a late fee for not paying the bill earlier. Well they agreed to credit back one of the late fee’s, even though both were at the fault of not processing the payment when it was paid. However, the one late fee they are crediting, we still have to pay them for and they will then apply that extra amount toward the balance. So they are forcing us to pay extra toward the balance, instead of crediting for their mistake back on the monthly bill. They said this is their practice. I did contact rooms to go directly, to let them know about how their credit line company was treating the customers. The lady I spoke with, who took the report, was not too happy about what I informed her of, and said that this is not the type of reputation that rooms to go wants reflected on them. I had even told her that after we pay this furniture off next year, we were considering getting a new bedroom suite through them; however, now I feel like if we do not have the funds to just buy it all up front, we won’t use them because I don’t want any more credit line with GE Capital due to their practices.
This company is a monster! They charging too much in my credit account, instead my balance gets lower, it keeps the same because of their deferred interest charge that cost around 100.00. I am jobless and I sent them a letter to explain my situation and looks like they don't care. Instead in helping you like removing the interest charge, they keep charging it. The customer service is also horrible, they are not helping you to solve your financial problem. Beware of this credit company, they have no heart when you get in to financial trouble from them.
Yes I have an account too with GE Capital, and I am not very pleased with them, they are charging me double late fees.
I think I also will contact the news media, their parent company is General Electric, so what does that tell you?
Plus they are charging me $24.46 for interest, plus a $29.91 for acct. securitiy. I even stried to call them, spoke to a
manager with no results.

We { my wife and i } recieved a bill from ge reguarding a purchase made in agusta ga Rooms to go { we live in fl and never been to agusta}-- We were resolved of all charges 5/ 12 yesterday i recieved another bill from ge for the same account { which we closed 5/12 } They said we made another purchase in ga for the same exact ammount-- REALLY-- FROM A CLOSED ACCOUNT? They { GE} don't take care or protect any of their customers-- After bieng on the phone with GE, Rooms to go corparate, And the store in agusta ga-{ which said no one made a purchase- the account is closed--ALL DAY-- Still nouthing is resolved-- I don't know what to do- They all want a order # which i don't have-- I didn't make the purchase..All i have is a bill from GE for a account that i was resolved of 4 months ago...BEWARE OF GE...THEY ARE NO HELP OR CAN TELL ME HOW TO RESOLVE THE ALREADY RESOLVED ACCOUNT...I guess i have to contact the news people or a attourney.
Cheesy and impersonal sounding, boilerplate type response they give suggests maybe this is a common issue for them? Also the one I signed up for - ALMOST - had a Utah location and I am living in San Francisco...
I was about to buy LensCrafters eye exam and glasses/contacts thru these people, since I am on a REALLY limited disability income and MediCal no longer provides any optical or eye related support now. My glasses broke yesterday, I can't see a thing, literally, due to extreme myopia since age 5 or 6 that got worse with age and now I have to lean my head against monitor just to type this...Jeepers now I will have to spend every cent I have just to pay for this because of their required annual eye exam first, and then the glasses themselves at cheapest will run me $150. I was really hoping to eat this month, thought this might help, glad I have the moxie to check out all things seeming too good to be true.
I am with GE and want to assure you that we take these matters seriously and strive to work with accountholders for resolution in extenuating circumstances. For further accountholder assistance, please contact us at gecapitalcares.com

GE Money Bank is the most incompetent and fraudulent bank I have ver dealt with. We had taken out a 0 percent financing for 1 year credit card through a furniture store. We ordered $2000 worth of furniture that we never received. The company went out of business and put through the charges anyway. GE Money kept sending us bills for $3000 even though we told them we never received the furniture and it was supposed to be only for $2000. We sent in letters and dispute forms and called them over and over. No one could speak English and they kept hanging up on us. Next thing we know, a collection agency sends us a judgment letter for $6000 and froze our bank accounts. We were never served and GE Money fails to respond. We had to pay the money and they still took $11, 000 out of our bank account 2 weeks letter. No one knows anything. No one responds to anything. Where should we go next?

creditcard scams
This has happened to each of 7 accounts I have with GE Money Bank:
They offer special financing for store accounts such as Sleepy's, LensCrafters, Ethan Allen, etc. On each of my accounts, Ethan Allen the last, they sent the credit card and the first bill to the correct address then they dropped a portion of the address for the next bill so it never got to me. This would have made me late had I not been attentive to my finances which would have incurred a late fee and negated the special financing boosting the interest rate to over 25 %. On my last account the sent my credit card and first bill to a different address so I never got them. They also do not give the required 3 weeks to pay a bill from the time it is sent. They also charge a fee for telephone payments.

Theft
I have made ALL of my payments on time with no problems using the Care Credit website. You have "reversed" the last two payments resulting in late fees. When I call, I’m told they cannot "locate" the bank account used to make my payments even though the payments were taken out of my account! $100 was reversed on my account twice, but NOT reversed back into my checking account. In other words, you have my money, but refuse to apply it to my account. I have documentation that it has been paid, but it keeps disappearing from my account. I find it very disturbing that this is happening right before my interest free promotional period is up next month. It is my opinion you are intentionally sabotaging customers close to their payoff in order to collect fees and interest. I am afraid to send in my final payment for fear it will not be credited to my account and be charged your outrageous interest rate. Please credit my account and get it up to date asap so that I can pay off the balance and close my account. Once I can be sure you have “found” my payments and credited my account I will be sending a final check to pay off the balance via certified mail. I have had this checking account for over 20 years and have never had anyone tell me before they “couldn’t find” the account. Very interesting to see how many other people are being scammed by GE Money/Care Credit!

Unethical billing and collection practices
Bate and Switch: The same thing has happened to me. I paid off the promotional balance, on time with money drawn off my Health Savings Account on time-in plenty of time to not incur the interest on the medical bill. They rejected the payment without my knowledge. About two weeks after I paid off the bill, I get a "courtesy" call stating that I had missed a payment. I was flabbergasted. I called the company. The customer service rep was an idiot, telling me that GEMB does not accept payments from Health Savings Accounts. When I asked to speak to a supervisor, she hung up on me. You don't hang up on me unless you want to hang yourself. So I have filed three complaints to the BBB. GEMB also conducts business in multiple states, so the consumer doesn't know who to deal with. I have had communications from them from FL where you send your payment, to OH where you send in complaints that fall on deaf ears, and now from some woman in SD(Darcey Segatti West, Corporate Specialist, Consumer Relations). The latest communications I received from GEMB states, "unfortunately, GEMB does not accept payments from HSAs submitted as a debt" even after I called my bank. My bank told me that I can use the money in my HSA to pay off any bill I want. The designation HSA is only for IRS purposes, not GEMB's purposes. It's simply a checking account. Money is money. My bank resubmitted with the very same account information I sumbitted to GEMB on 04/14/2011, and GEMB took my money from the very same account I used the first time. So which is it? Do they accept money from health savings accounts or don't they? This is just another example of greedy credit card companies engaging in unethical billing and collection practices, trying to stiff the consumers. I am warning everybody, "Do NOT get talked in to using a GEMB card to pay any doctor or dentist." It isn't worth the harassment. Medicaid patients don't have to even pay a copay if they don't have the money, so why are working class consumers being forced in to contracts with companies like GEMB? To Mary K: GEMB doesn't have to cancel my card, I cut the blame thing up and threw it in the trash!
Please send my any email communications to [protected]@yahoo.com if you have any more hassle from GEMB. I think a class action law suit against the company is in order mys elf after reading that suggestion on this board. Apparently, GEMB is engagin in unethical billing and collection practices across the board. I will NEVER use that card again and stick with my own money market account at BB&T, a bank that I trust and knows me.

late fees
I paid off in full a balance from a medical credit card of several hundred dollars. I then recieved a bill from the company that I owed them $1.00 which I sent them a check for. I then recieved a bill for late fee's a few months later. I called the number on the bill and the service agent told me it would be taken care of. Several years later I recieved a letter from a collection agency stateing I owed several hundred dollars in late fee's. It is now a charge off.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer's satisfaction.
I was charged a late fee in spite of the fact the payment was mailed 5 days early. They said they needed 7 - 10. I said even Visa doesn't ask that. It doesn't take more than 3 days to get from Michigan to Florida. Also it took me 10 minutes to get the first person and almost 20 minutes before the escalation person answered. They do not have a way to contact them on-line. If they are experiencing a "high volume of calls" it's because they either don't hire enough people to answer phones or people are calling after getting ripped off. Personally I think it's both. I will never buy from them again which is sad because the maytag store near me is very nice and provides good service. GE Money Bank is a scam. Never Never again.
I have submitted two payments online through my checking account. Each one 4 or 5 days in advance of the due date. I was charged late fees on two payments, saying they were not recieved on time. When I made a phone call concerning this I was told it was because they could not recieve electronic payments from my bank. Iwas told that my bank was mailing them. How could a bank as large as GE not accept electronic payments? Is this so that people are forced into using phone payments at the last minute? At a cost of 10-15 dollars. Late fees of 39 dollars, are certainly more profitable than interest. Ihope that they fail and are out business soon because of the stealing.

GE Money
oh these are ###.. I batter not see GEMONEY walking around a dark alley one of these days or i will be getting my money back.. I paid on the internet and had payment confirmation numbers and they still charged me late fees.
Oh, I definitely agree. Today, I was on the phone with them because of a supposed late fee. I paid the Bill on 3/21 before I left for vacation and paid other bills at the same time. The other bills I paid, posted 5 days after I mailed out the checks, which was on 3/25! I sent GE Money bank on the same day and they didn't post the check until April 13th, 3 weeks later! I was fuming. It took me 3 tries to have them remove the late fee since I just paid about $500 dollars on the account to lower the amount that keeps continuing to climb because of interest rates, or whatever they are doing with supposed 'promotion ending' and not paying by a certain time.
Eventually the last person on the phone listened to me and removed the late fee, but I am so glad that this awful account is closed because this was the biggest mistake I ever made - opening this account. I will never, ever do something like this again. This was the biggest scam. Lessoned learned - Stay away from GE Money bank and pay the card off ASAP!
It's a sistematic practice of GE Money Bank. They did to me two times. I'll never use this fraudulent bank again in my life. ' BE CAREFULLY'.
I had the same thing done to me. I paid my bill early and was charged late fees because it was not paid during their computer cycle or something like. The Rep could hardly speak english so it was to understand anything. He was very rude and almost insulting when explained my problem. I got my card through Rooms To Go so buyer beware, they do not have the best reputation either.
tell me about it, they rip people off big time. We were charged late fee's on two accounts about 3 times before I got fed up and canceled the accounts. Then I recieve things in the mail from them telling me they closed my accounts because of late payments. Not me closing them but them, and they reported it to a collection agency. Please do not deal with these people!
Withdrawal of payment AFTER 10 Stop Payment Issued
Hello :
My name is Jeff Gibson, I am A member of the Canadian armed forces and I like many Canadians am hear to register a complaint against GE Money . I purchased A motorcycle 3 Years ago for $11500, I called GE Money When I was @ the Dealership last week to find out what the balance owing on my loan was because I was interested in getting a new bike . Myself and the sales rep were told $1070.98 I asked If I could have a stop payment put on the old loan due to the fact that my trade in would more than cover the balance owing. The sale was finalised on Friday the 6th of May, the stop Payment was put in place on the 3rd of May and GE MONEY decided that the Payment would come out of my account on the 4th of may, even though there was a stop payment put on the account . I would advise all Canadians that this company is NOT TRUSTWORTHY they agree to one coarse of action and then go back on it without informing you . I will Ensure that if any member of my unit asks me about financing through GE Money I WILL Tell them About this despicable Incident and to look elsewhere for Financing .
Its not like my Credit is bad or I miss payments this is a Screw up and they will have to MAN /WOMAN UP and take responsibility for there actions. they charge insane fees to people who miss payments (I never have ) so GE giving me my money back ASAP Like tomorow would be all im looking for, if not the JAG will direct me on my next move.
no they said that the stop payment timeing was ok I asked the girl if they would do this and she said no it is ok the stop payment is set and the ballance owing was due by the 12th of May . The dealership and my bank are going after GE for the money and I am Going to speek With the base JAG in the morning this is theft and there is no excuse if they couldnot put a stop payment on the account they should have told me, and the Loan Buy out should have been reduced by that payment.

Don't borrow money from them you will regret it they are the biggest scam artist's in the market today read this... General Electric CEO Jeff Immelt defended the company's payment of income taxes after protesters interrupted his speech here at the SAE World Congress.
"Tax rate was 29 percent last year, " Immelt told a couple protesters at Cobo Center as they chanted "pay your fair share" a few feet from where he was speaking.
About 20 protesters scuffled with Detroit Police before they were escorted out of the building. The protestors blew whistles and attempted to enter the SAE exhibition hall, but were forcibly blocked from doing so.
GE spokesman Gary Sheffer said the company paid a 25 percent income tax rate in the United States in 2011 — and a 29 percent rate globally.
In total, GE paid $2.9 billion globally in income tax in 2011, Sheffer said.
GE said it paid a 7 percent U.S. tax rate in 2010 because it had lost $32 billion in its financial services unit and because of other tax breaks, Sheffer said. "We paid income taxes and we paid another $1 billion in taxes across the U.S. — state, local federal."
"The folks that are protesting here are unfortunately protesting based on misinformation. We did pay taxes. Our rate was lower, " Sheffer said.
Protesters said they had tried to present Immelt with a tax bill for $26.5 billion for what they asserted GE owed in back federal income taxes under the 35 percent statutory tax rate.
"Mr. Immelt, when are you going to pay the $26 billion in taxes, " asked Shyquetta McElroy, a mother of two who traveled from Milwaukee. "I pay my taxes year after year — why doesn't GE?"
Few, if any, U.S. companies pay the statutory tax rate because of various tax breaks and incentives in the tax code.
The protesters asserted that GE has become "the poster child of American corporate tax-dodging" and argued it has been paying only a 2.3 percent effective rate over the last 10 years.
Immelt joked that the protesters had given him some "good practice" for GE's annual meeting in Detroit on Thursday. The United Auto Workers union has said it is considering protesting at the meeting.
