I had 3 projects done by Al P at my house. The biggest project was a wooden backyard deck that needed repairs and painting. Because of its condition, it had to be replaced completely. The new deck looked great and I was told to let it dry for a few days. Upon inspection, it looked like the wood splinters from the screw holes were left on the deck and then painted over, leaving sharp spots all over the deck, which meant you couldn't walk barefoot on the deck. I spoke to Al on the phone and explained the situation and he agreed to sand the deck and then repaint it. He said he would take care of it the following week (I would be out of town that week). When I returned, it had not been done. When I called Al, he said he had come by and hammered on some of the screw holes, but he couldn't do anything about it. He implied that I should have known that this was a possibility and would not correct his crew's error. I believe he should fix the problem.

I think that Gracewood Enterprises Inc. charged me too much for a job they did at my house. I paid $795.00 on 3/8/22 for labor and materials for the project. The original quote was $595.00 plus materials and a 25% delivery fee. I don't mind paying a delivery fee for materials that they bought and picked up from the store. But I don't think it's fair to charge me for materials and a delivery fee for my own property. That's what happened here. Last year, we hired Gracewood to replace the paneling on two sides of our home. We bought more Hardi-Board/cement board pieces than we needed. We kept them for this project. I thought the $200.00 they charged for materials was too much because we had most of it already. When I got the receipts in the mail, I was surprised to see that they charged me $93.56 for the materials we already had and added a delivery fee. I emailed them and asked for a refund of $116.95. They offered me $50.00, but that's not enough because they charged me for my own materials. I haven't heard from them since 3/17/22 about this problem.
