On January 12th, 2024, my husband and I stopped by Hanks Furniture in Rogers Ark. We spoke with Drake. After browsing the furniture, we picked out a sofa, loveseat, and ottoman. We then left the store after telling Drake that we would have to go home and measure the room to make sure it would all fit. Later that day, I called the store and spoke with Drake again. At that time, I purchased the furniture by phone. I never received any documentation or explanation from Drake explaining their “restocking fee”, cancellation policy, nor any other store policies regarding the furniture. I never signed anything. The total cost of this furniture was $1998.36 per Drake. The next day, I called Drake back and added a chair. That cost was $549.69. We were to pick up the furniture ourselves sometime between Thursday, Jan 17th and Saturday, Jan 20th. On January 16th, I sent Drake a message stating I was sorry, but I needed to cancel the furniture and to please refund the payment to my credit card ASAP. I thanked him at that time. (I do have this still on my phone in my text messages) Drake responded and stated he was currently out of town, and I would have to call the stores office. I immediately called the store and spoke with a lady. I explained to her I needed to cancel the furniture at this time. She put me on hold for a few minutes then returned to the phone and stated that they had a 50% restocking fee. I explained to her that I had never picked up the furniture and it was still in their possession, so I was not paying a restocking fee. Immediately after this conversation, I called Capitol One to dispute the charges of $1998.36 and $549.69. The next day, Jan 16th, I seen that the $1998.36 was deducted from my charge acct. I called Capitol One back and disputed the $549.69 charge again. On Jan 13th that charge was deducted. Feb 1st, I noticed that Hank's furniture recharged me for the $1998.36 and sent a letter to Capitol One stating that I had received the furniture. I then called Capitol One and advised them again that we never went and picked up the furniture. I was then advised to send a letter to Capitol

One and Hanks Furniture explaining the incident in full.

Claimed loss: $1998.36

Desired outcome: I would like a total refund.
