Bad Teaching
I am doing an online class with a teacher that doesn't teach at all.Emails are not replied to till days later. replies are one sentence answers that are no help, one reply was a copy of the answer key to the assignment . the text book and programs are not the same as in the txt book we are assigned isn't even for the version of the program we are using. one text book is a 20 year old pdf and not a single item in it matches with the lesson templates so its paired with "2 min videos" and exercises with answers included. I cannot learn well like this in the simpler units i taught myself now i am struggling
Desired outcome: I want to know what i can do to be actually taught properly If i complain to the dean and this teacher gets in trouble i do not want to be targeted by them or fail because i complained about them
Internship project,
I am student of course business, I have scored good marks in my all the semesters, but for internship which was at the last of the course, i have to submit reports and internship project and then have to present the project as well. I have to present the capstone project instead of that i have presented internship project which was also right. But when my internship co ordinator told that you have to present capstone project, she did't gave me any date she just gave me 0,
Firstly my studies were going to completed till march the college extended it to april, my documents are till april and when the documents are expiring college is asking me to do internship of 2 months again. For these 2 months i have to go through the process of CAQ, study permit and sin no. Extension again. For extension there is requirement of showing funds also. Being a student its difficult for me to show funds as suffering from Covid19 pandemic. Its totally wrong that college is not dealing with their student and just failing me in internship project which is of no use for me. I have scored well in my whole course.
I will be glad if my issue will be solved and if i can get date for my internship presentation again. Thanks

3d animation program
The teacher is refusing to answer my questions when I am struggling to understand how to use some of the tools in 3D Studio Max. Almost every time I ask him a question, he gives me one of three responses, none of which are helpful:
1. He gets angry with me for not already knowing the answer (if I did, why would I be attending this program?), and walks away.
2. Sometimes he finishes my sentences for me, assuming I'm asking one question when I'm actually asking another. Then, having given me a completely irrelevant answer he walks away and ignores my attempts to finish asking the question.
3. And this is one he's been doing a lot in the past few weeks; I'll ask him a question, and he responds with "So what's your question?" I re-iterate the question as clearly as possible, and he responds with a very aggressive tone of voice, telling me to "play with the software", or in some other way deflecting the responsibility of answering my question to someone else. A good example of this; The class was trying to use Photometric lights for the first time, and, having seen that the way to control a light's intensity is to use the numerical values in Lumens, Candelas, or Lux, I asked what seems to me a sensible question: Is there some way that we can calculate the correct numerical values to type set these to, according to the dimensions of the room and the type of lights we're using? His response was "What's your question?" Whenever he says this it baffles me, and I always try to rephrase the question in an even clearer, more simple way. So I then said that, for example, the default value in the candelas spinner was 1500, which was clearly way to intense for the little room I was lighting, so I did a search on the Autodesk web-site and found that a 100 watt household light bulb gives off 139 candelas, but the brightness still looked wrong, so is there a way to figure out the correct value in candelas, or do we just play with the spinners and eyeball it? His response to this was to angrily snap at me "Ask Autodesk! I didn't give you those numbers, Autodesk gave you them, so ask them!" I'm getting very tired of being talked to like this, but more importantly, he doesn't seem to realize that I am paying a considerable amount of money for his tuition, not to mention the loss of earnings from quitting my job to enroll on this program, and to simply not answer my question is not good enough. Just to be clear, this program is the Herzing 3D Animation program in Montreal (I want to write that in full, so that if anyone re-posts this on other sites, the reader has no confusion about which college we're talking about).
I am beginning to think that when he deflects my question, it's to hide a gap in his knowledge, but admittedly I don't know that for sure. One thing I do know is that simply not answering my questions is not the same as teaching me, and could legally be seen as a breach of contract.
Aside from the lack of good, clear teaching, he frequently behaves very rudely. Another example; just last week, he spent what felt like a solid 5 minutes angrily reprimanding the whole class because we didn't know what an architectural floor plan looked like, or how detailed the measurements in it had to be. At one point he snapped - and I mean he really snapped this at us - that if we don't even know what an architectural floor plan looks like, we shouldn't be admitted to a 3d program. This seems really strange, as it assumes we've had some former training as architects; most of us are in our early 20's, and are studying 3d for the first time. Nonetheless, he left the room in a foul mood, before returning a few minutes later and loudly proclaimed in a very condescending tone that for those of us who haven't "even seen" an architectural floor, "I have this amazing resource for you", and handed out a bunch of photocopies of a floor plan. Why he feels the need to be so rude, I don't know, but I really have reached the point where I don't look forward to the classes any more, and it's purely because of his rudeness and poor teaching style.
If you're still reading, thanks for your patience. I'm posting this so anyone considering a course in 3d Animation can make an informed decision.
i agree, worst of the worst, computers were dated 2001, Photoshop freezes, projector braked during class the whole place falling apart. teacher is a piece of work, mood swing again this week, a pathetic failure of an artist. yells and treating students most of courses are YouTube exercises, direction don't care, dean don't care as long as we are stuck paying. the whole courses last 2 years of pure improvisation, 8 days for google research for our car tutorial, did the car in 3 days at home. we had a cool teacher but he left i don't blame him at all. we are learning mudbox now so the mood swinger can find an excuse for not being able to teach zbrush. we are stuck on maya crazy teacher is learning it as we go and yells if you go faster. sad it is a school for new immigrant, even the staff dont pay their teachers, poor costumer service, we are getting ripred off and other school are moving ahead with better content. stage and job are not guarantied.
last years student got their work stolen by stupid frustrated teacher and posted on artstation. that alone was reason to see half the class leaving and asking for a refund. i sent my complained to the ministry of education but the whole class have to be with me. from here the future look uncertain. Christian Page, Michael McCallister are 2 pimps of directors, sleezy thiefs who care nothing but their retirement. i do not recommend.
no quality, just want your money
School only wants money, they will let anyone in just for their money. I've seen tons of immigrants pay to technically be in school to keep their student visa, but they don't come to most classes and yet they don't fail out. School's dean Christian allows failing students to do retests for missed or failed exams so they can 'pass'.
The ads of a high placement/graduation is a lie. Students who fail, don't actually fail out, they are told to come back next year to redo courses so the school twists the facts and numbers to pretend they have good students.
Teachers and admin barely do their jobs, the internship placements that they sell to new students don't in fact work. We are left to actually find our own, the school puts little effort to help, when we don't find one, the school just gives us a big project and then says we've graduated.
Just come in and ask students who are almost finished their programs and see how many feel cheated on this fake education.

falwed system
I attended the in-class Web development course. I graduated with high programming grades. I felt like i left the school well suited for the real world. When the two month internship came around we were told, they might not have a job opportunity for you, so there is no point in asking. When the definition of an internship is to have a job opening at the end. I thought getting the internship was more difficult then the job search so the first person who interviewed me for the internship i took. Every week we wrote a report on what we were learning and sending it to our teacher and the school. In this company there were two internships, and one payed employee. At the end of the two months, both interns(including myself) did not receive a job. The other paid employee quite. I gained no experience from those two months. When i went back to the school and explain my situation, they did the fallowing.:removed that company from the internship list. Then they told me that if i wanted i could attend class again.
Its been 5 months, i am unemployed, and without professional experience. Now i am looking for a minimum wage job to pay for the school loan of $10, 000.
The school does not screen the internships. They do not read your weekly report to see if you are learning what it necessary. The minute your done your stage, they wipe their hands of you and say good luck. Then next thing you know you have to start paying off that loan.
They do not guaranty a job no. BUT they are supposed to prepare us enough when we graduate to have enough experience to get a job. Herzing has flaws!

Happened me the same
I'm a graduate from Herzing as well and i worked closely with them to find a job, this program cost me 20, 000$ i wish i never stepped foot in there now it seems to me soap at the end of a rope would be the best solution to my depression.
Dont go to this school they are thieves !
