Here is what I posted on BBB.
This place should not be allowed to stay in business. They give you 120 day price lock so you can get your loan and permits. The problem with that is it took them over 7 weeks to get me the plans to turn in to get the permits and I had to call them to get them. Then they didn't make the changes to the plans needed so they were rejected by the county. Mind you the only changes they need to make to their stock plan were to remove a closet on one bedroom so it would be considered a den so it would be good with the septic design, to remove a wall separating the dining and living room and to move a 220 outlet. All of which would have taken less that 30 minutes in the CAD program and they couldn't even do that right after 7 weeks. So because of their delays I could not meet the 120 day deadline and was charged over $27, 000 for their price increase. The sales department told me they were averaging 3 to 4 months to complete their homes and that was echoed by the department handling the paperwork. When the project manager met with me he said on rare occasions it could take up to 180 days. Which I believe is their guarantee when they like to say "built on time". And what a joke that is. if they don't meet that then they give you something like $100 a day for a maximum of 10 days. And that is from the time they pour the foundation, which was over a month from the time they received everything they needed from me. It has now been 6 months since the foundation was poured and they are now telling me they are hoping to have it done in two months from now. And of course the FEDS are saying they are going to raise interest rates so who knows how much their delays will actually cost me because the bank locks in the rate when the house is finished. The contractor that poured the foundation set it up wrong so when he pulled the bords off there were nails sticking out of the concrete every four feet about 1 1/2" so he just bent them over. I went around and broke them off and told the project manager they need to patch the concrete so the nails would not rust leaving streaks down the foundation walls. I have brought that up several times and he just says he will get back to me every time. The framer would work on the house sometimes only a couple hours a day saying he was building 3 other houses so he needed to spread his time out. So he must have lost several hours a week driving between houses. He could have finished mine about 2 weeks sooner if he would have stayed on it. It took over a month after the plumber was done to get an electrician out. At first the manager gave me dates that he was suppose to start then he said he was looking for another contractor. On week 4 I called him pretty upset and told him I was thinking of suing the company he laughed at me and said there were customers waiting over 2 months for their electricians. So if he knows this he needs to find more electricians. I then told him he needs to line up the insulation and sheet rockers now so this won't happen again. He said don't worry they are calling him hungry for work. Guess what. The electrical has passed inspection and he cant get ahold of the insulation crew because he thinks they are out for the holiday. When I was painting the house I found the framer didn't want to trim the truss ends to make them even so he just put plywood shims on the end of 5 of them so the board and gutter would be even. I wish I could show you a picture of how bad that looks. They are suppose to fix that but to do it right would mean they will have to remove the last row of roofing and trim down the plywood and re roof it or the roofing will end up half way in the gutter. He was supposed to be out already to do that but no sign of him. I found out you should never put a heat pump outside your bedroom because of the noise. I told them I wanted it moved to the other end of the house as it has not been installed and they said I would have to pay a change order fee. The only thing they would have had to do was run new freon lines as the electrical wasn't in yet. They don't even attempt to give good customer service. If you are already in contract with them I am sorry. If not run like away as fast as you can!

Desired outcome: For them to stop screwing people over.

I had an extremely similar experience. I made out cheap, but you can tell. It's really too bad the lack of transparency and communication
