I only used the service for a couple of months then Century link became available and more recently trouble-free Kwickbits.
I received an email from Hughes about updating my payment information and it had my account number on it. With that, I was finally able to reach a human. I said please discontinue my service and come get this thing off my roof. I was put on hold 4 or 5 times. Luckily it was my day off and was told that there was 3 pieces of equipment that I had to return. And that I would be sent a return sticker to pay for the return. And I had to return the box on the antenna to their office. I asked if I needed to get on the roof and detach it from the antenna myself? Yes, was the response. Finally I was going to get rid of an autopay for something I don't use. In closing the representative told me that if I didn't return any of the items I would be fined. He said that the fine could be as high as $350 and that I had about 60 pr 90 days to return everything I agreed to. So I asked if anyone was going to come and take the dish. He said that someone would contact me about that. I wonder if some companies make autopay difficult to cancel on purpose. I know of some, like Amazon, cancel autopay immediately. I wonder what percentage of their revenue is from autopay from customers who no longer use their service. And I wonder why the person that is supposed to retrieve their dish from my roof cant also get the black box attached to it and the 3 items mentioned, at the same time they pick up the disc That's 3 different ways to return just a few items. 3 different ways that can go wrong and 3 different ways for me to be fined $350.
Recommendation: Save everything because you may have it for a long time. Don't loose anything. You could be fined if you do.
