Hyde Park Plumbing & Heating Limited is a bit of a mess
Hyde Park Plumbing & Heating Limited is a bit of a mess. They can't seem to get their act together when it comes to giving quotes or contracts. The ladies in the office are a bit rough around the edges and can be pretty rude. They never seem to get back to you when you call, and I'm pretty sure they don't know how to use a measuring tape or find the center of anything.

I got Hyde Park Plumbing & Heating Limited to check out my pool heater. A guy came over and checked the outside of the heater for a few minutes and said the heat exchanger was busted. He said it would be just as expensive to fix it as to get a new one. But then I got a second opinion and they opened up the heater and said the heat exchanger was fine. They replaced a different part for $140. But then Hyde Park sent me a bill for $113 just for the quick diagnosis that was wrong. Don't use them if you want good service and fair prices.

Hyde Park Plumbing and Heating is the bomb! They totally rocked my old bathroom from the 50s and made it look like a million bucks. I kept changing my mind about what I wanted, but they were cool with it and helped me out every step of the way. These guys know their stuff and they're super chill. I gotta give a shoutout to the whole crew for working their butts off to make my dream bathroom a reality. And props to the peeps who gave me some sweet ideas that made it even better. Thanks, Hyde Park Plumbing and Heating! You guys rule!

Hyde Park did a tough bathroom reno in an old house (built in 1880). They ripped it all out and put in a fancy whirlpool tub, marble shower, moved the toilet, and put in a sweet heated floor (OMG it's so nice!) and new vanity. They also put in a new recessed mirrored medicine cabinet. They did all the electrical, including wiring for the tub, new lighting (pot lights and wall fixture), and moved the switches to the best spots. They took care of all the plumbing, gyproc/wall repair, and even fixed the window and door trim. We're more than 100% happy with the work. They gave us a quote, stayed on budget and on time. The sales guy came by a few times during and after the job to make sure we were happy. I totally recommend them for a job well done.

Hyde Park Plumbing & Heating Limited is the bomb! They helped me out big time when my furnace was making a terrible noise. Me and a contractor were painting after my neighbor's fire when we heard it. We turned it off and it took me a while to get in touch with my property manager. But the next day, two cool dudes came and fixed it up real quick. They listened to everything I said and even recognized me from another job. They didn't stop until they found the problem and fixed it. Then they answered all my questions and explained everything to me. They even helped me with my thermostat settings. lumbing company Hyde Park came to my house to fix two problems with my drains. They left and came back to do the repairs. Their work was not good and I had to call the owner. The sewer smell is still there. They got yellow glue on my sink and damaged the wall. They also got glue on my carpet, which I had to throw away and replace for $300. I called the owner to come and see the damage, but he never did. Later, I got a bill for work that the insurance company did not cover. They did not tell me that the insurance company would not cover these costs and I did not sign off on the costs or work. They sent my file to a collections agency and now I have $1,100 of damage to my house.

I got an email bill on Feb 20, 2021, for some work done at a place I used to live at. They billed it to my old address, even though I moved out in Dec 2019. The new owner did the work, not me. I called a bunch of times to fix it, but the people were super rude and didn't help. Now some collections people are after me. I think they still have my old address from when I used their services in 2016. They should just call the new owner to sort it out. I'm not paying this bill and I'm not happy with how they treated me.

He promised to charge me $110 per hour for the actual hours worked. The workers finished the job in less than 8 hours on May 11. But when they sent the invoice on June 1, they overcharged me and reported inaccurate hours. I emailed them on June 2 to correct the hourly rate and actual hours worked, and to remove the $150 charge for tool use. I needed $648 + HST deducted. They haven't replied yet.

Now, the heater makes a loud bang and other gas appliances don't get enough gas. Another gas company had to come in to diagnose the problem. Hyde Park said they put in a request for a new meter with enbridge, but it's been a month and they haven't contacted me back. They had three chances to check the btu usage, but they didn't. They also billed me for the house service call. I still have a bill from them, and the heater still makes an explosive sound when it turns on.

He came back and replaced the seal again, but it still leaked. Another guy came and replaced parts in the tank, but it still leaked. They said I needed a new toilet for $400 or $500 plus installation. I looked into it and found the leak was from the water supply hose. When I told them, they sent someone else who quickly fixed it for $15. They didn't check the hose before. They charged me $303.97, but I thought it was unfair because they didn't look for the problem, just replaced things. I sent them $100 with a letter, but they didn't respond for months. Now they want $203.07 and sent the bill to Kingson Data and Credit.

We had a tankless hot water heater that was acting up last July. The water would go from hot to cold and eventually just run cold. We called Hyde Park Plumbing and they sent out two guys, *** and , on July 13th. They changed the internal mixing valve and charged us $580.26. But the problem persisted and the water would still go cold while we were using hot water. We called them again and they sent out another plumber on Aug. 14th who said the problem was with our taps and we should change all the cartridges. We have about 10 of them, so that didn't seem reasonable. They charged us $109.61 for this "service call" and I was pretty frustrated. I called the office and spoke to the Manager, ***, who said not to pay the bill and he would send his brother, ***, out. The company called and said they would send someone out, but I told them not to bother if they were just going to give me the same advice or if it could be given over the phone. Well, *** didn't come, but *** did. He looked at the water heater and said they would have to come back again after I observed the heater and tell them what lights or indicators come on when the water went cold again. For this information, they charged me another $109.61. I thought this charge was unreasonable too, so I called the company again and said not to come out if they were just going to give me advice over the phone. Shouldn't a job be covered by some kind of warranty? The original problem wasn't resolved, so I don't want them to come out again. I only want to pay the $580.26 that I already paid. These people are incompetent.

He left to call someone and came back with the price. Later we asked for bathroom job and Dave did it fast. We asked if he could help with other stuff and he spent 2.5h. Got invoice for $418.67. Weird that two people from same company charge same but give different time estimates. Got invoice for job not done, called HPP&H and spoke to manager Becky. She didn't listen and interrupted us a lot. She hung up on us. We want apology and to cancel invoice #*** (REVISED) from HPP&H.

I asked for someone else, but they sent him again. I refused to let him in. I am disappointed with how they treated me. Our old General Manager had no issues with them, but I was taken advantage of. We are getting someone else to fix it, and I don't think we should be charged since I only asked for a quote.

I called Hyde Park Plumbing, and they sent technicians who spent 40 min and said the tenant was flushing baby wipes. The problem came back after two days, and the tenant wasn't even home. I was charged $305 for this visit. I called again, and the technician spent 20 minutes onsite. They said the tenant was pushing a lot of food down the drain based on some rice pieces found in the sewer. It was impossible to push food down the drain due to the sink design. I was charged $321. The problem came back after a week. I was told to read the notes in the first bill about another reason, and I should've got the drain flushed. It wasn't communicated to me during the calls. Hyde Park Plumbing told me it would cost me another ~$350 to flush the drain. The total solution would cost me close to $1000. I lost confidence in their ability to diagnose and fix the root cause. They failed to investigate and fix the root cause in a single attempt. There was a severe lack of communication. I was never notified about the cost or what was being done during the site visits. Eventually, I hired a plumber from *** and got the problem solved for less than $100. The problem never resurfaced even after almost 3 months. This proves that Hyde Park Plumbing lacks technical competence, courtesy, and communication skills.

They did not apologize or try to contact me by phone or mail. This is not how a good company should treat its customers, especially when we have been doing business with them for years. They have harmed our credit rating, and it's their fault for not having our correct contact information.
