This tour was Safaris in Kenya, a helicopter flight over Victoria Falls, and a pleasant end of tour stay in Cape Town South Africa. The trip was hugely enjoyable, the experiences priceless, and value for the money unbelievable! Thank you Indus Travels!

We and another couple booked a trip to India in October for May . We paid in full. Their website at that time said that we could get a full refund in the event of major itinerary changes. It also said they would not be booking our flights until 60 days before departure. We were so excited. Then the pandemic began. Travel was restricted and the Canadian government told all Canadians to stay or return home. No flights were booked. Indus tried to force a date change on us saying they were willing to offer us one date change anytime in the next 12 months which we didn't want. We wanted the date we booked and asked for a refund. They said they weren't cancelling the trip even though travel was not allowed and that we had to take an alternative date or nothing. We chose nothing. They didn't even offer to refund our flight money which they didn't even attempt to book. It would have been a welcome show of faith. No, they just changed their website regarding refunds and kept our money. It took us over a year to get our money back from our credit card company but we got it no thanks to Indus who fought the credit card refund too. So now they don't have any of our money for that trip and they have no prospect of our money in the future when we travel again. Beware of this company. They will say anything to get your money and do nothing to help you if they need to give it back.

Indus travel trip to India (Majestic India) in the fall of 2019 was very enjoyable. Some communications with the office could be at times slow, but trip was great. A very good value for the money. The tour operators *** were wonderful. Staff was amazing and so friendly. Hotels were outstanding. Tours and day trips were well organized and I got to see so much more than I thought i would. Would highly recommend.

Unethical business practices have marred our experience. We paid $817 for a hotel upgrade, but Indus ignored our email requests for confirmation of the upgrade. The hotel we were given was not the same as the one advertised on the website. Our trip was scheduled from March 9 to April 7, but due to an emergency, we requested a change to our outbound flight, hoping to still utilize 10-15 days of our $6000 booking for flights and hotels. We checked Indus's terms and conditions, which stated changes were permitted for a $100 fee plus any applicable supplier change fees. However, Indus claimed our outbound flight could not be changed and treated our request as a cancellation, offering no refund.
We contacted the airline directly and were informed that changes were indeed allowed for a $300 fee, but Indus needed to initiate the request. Despite providing evidence from the airline, Indus refused to assist. On a second call, the airline agreed to change our flight since Indus was uncooperative. Our entire trip was altered due to Covid-19. Following the advice of the Reservations desk, we reached out to the hotel directly to inquire about a possible credit for a future stay. Once Indus became aware of our flight change, they cancelled our hotel reservation and informed me that I was cancelling my trip, asserting that the airline should not have made any changes.
The internet is filled with negative experiences regarding Indus Travel, yet it maintains a high rating with the ComplaintsBoard.com. I have filed a complaint with the appropriate consumer protection agency. It is clear that this company does not provide a high-quality service, and the credibility of the ComplaintsBoard.com's ratings is now in question. Travel arrangements and accommodations were 5/5. We were centrally located; close to shopping; everything ran smoothly and nothing but praises for Indus Travel. All questions were answered quickly by friendly staff. We have traveled over 40 countries and our last trip (Feb. 2020)was the first time booking with Indus. We will not hesitate to book with them again. We are already recommending Indus Travel to all our friends and family.

We took a tour with Indus Travels to South Africa. It was the group of 6, we came back on Nov.23,2021 . The trip was planned for 2020 and due to pandemia postponed . My husband was worry but everything was superb. The transportation was a comfortable van, the hotels couldn't be better. The guides and drivers were knowledgeable, professional and helpful, and our safety was always a priority. Definitely we would recommend the Indus Travels .

We just returned from Indus' Taste of Portugal tour
We just returned from Indus' Taste of Portugal tour. We had a fantastic trip and everything went as planned. Our tour guide Sophia from the local travel agency in Portugal (Lusanova, contracted by Indus) was one of the best guides we have ever had. We had 5 fantastic days of touring and free time in 8 cities. The hotels and included breakfasts in 3 cities were top notch. The sites we were taken to were of on all travel sights top lists of places to visit. The transport to and from the airport were problem free. This was the perfect tour for us and I can't recommend Indus enough. This is our 3rd Indus tour and we are anxious to book a 4th Indus tour, once this pandemic clears and trvel is again safe. Thank you Indus for giving us so much travel joy!

We booked a trip for April and due to Covid-19, we moved it to Sept
We booked a trip for April and due to Covid-19, we moved it to Sept. 2020 and now we have decided to move it to April . Indus has discontinued our original tour and offered a similar tour. We have a balance outstanding as our original tour was more expensive than the new tour. However, after 10 days of requesting a change in date to 2021, no change has been made. The sales consultant says the same thing everyday, that the change will be made by end of day. This is not a complicated change. We have paid our full amount and the level of customer service thus far has been abysmal. In addition, I received an invoice to re-book our tour which was not what we requested at all and a charge of $175! We are not getting any straight answers to our questions about re-booking our tour and this has been extremely frustrating. After this experience, I would not book with Indus again. Their handling of the Covid situation has been terrible.

I am appalled at how Indus Travels is currently handling the situation for trips that have been booked and paid for months ago, but they have had to cancel due to the coronavirus. A group of four of us booked in early September to go to Ireland on April 13. Indus is refusing to provide a refund, or even a credit to use at our discretion for a future booking. Instead they are offering to switch us to a fall date, and honour the price we've already paid, or we can delay by a year and go next spring (our preferred time to visit Ireland) but we will have to pay $300 more to do so. And they will of course keep all of our money for this trip for that entire time. I have previously had very good experiences travelling with Indus, and have recommended them to many people, but their attitude towards this situation has left me feeling like they really don't care about their customers. In fact, they are offering full refunds for anyone who booked after March 1 - a time at which the world was already coming to grips with the COVID-19 pandemic, and travellers were beginning to understand that they should re-evaluate whether to go anywhere. But they will not offer the same courtesy to those of us who booked months ago when there was no indication the trip would need to be cancelled.

On 2/6 I paid $898.00 USD for a 50% deposit on a tour of South Africa offered by Indus Travels. Unfortunately, too much time had elapsed for me to seek a credit card refund of that amount by the time the tour cancelled due to Covid and Indus would not refund my deposit. Indus did offer me a voucher good for one of their travel products until July 31 which I reluctantly accepted. I recently tried to book a current tour Indus was offering to Mexico for $999 PP for May 11 using my voucher. To make a long story short, after several telephone calls I was told by Indus that the Mexico tours (Colonial Treasures of Mexico) had been cancelled due to Covid until July this year despite what the Indus web site says. Here's where it really gets interesting: I was able to book the exact same tour by the same exact Mexican land tour company, ***, for the exact same date, May 11, through ***, a subsidary of ***. *** So now I am left with what is apparently a useless voucher from Indus Travels who made it such a point last year to express their sincere regret for my cancelled tour and earnestly pledged to give me full value for my loss in the future.

Indus learned of flight change, cancelled hotel & called to tell me I was cancelling my trip & airline should NOT have made flight changes. ***. ***. The internet is rife with horror stories about Indus Travel yet ComplaintsBoard.com gives an *** rating. Re: Tour with Indus Travel for April 19 to May 9. Paid in full. I want a refund in full with no penalties for the tour that will now not take place. The company says this trip is not taking place and is suggesting it is postponed. Therefore this extrapolates to cancellation. They will not admit to the trip being cancelled and refuse any refunds as per their own "Terms & Conditions/Cancellation Policy" that were current at the time of sale. Indeed these Terms and Conditions were altered/changed during the last week of March . The original Terms said in capitals: "OUR LIABILITY IN SUCH A CASE IS LIMITED TO A RETURN TO YOU OF ANY AMOUNTS YOU HAVE PAID US. If we make major changes prior to your departure". A postponement is a major change, since it is a denial of travel on the date specified. Indus Travel is offering a transfer for a future trip with penalties and fees (WHICH THEY WILL NOT DISCLOSE). I have indicated to them on several occasions that I require a full refund without penalties and that substitutions of any kind are unacceptable. Any reference to Covid 19 & its effects have no baring here since the contract Terms & Conditions I agreed to, have not been met. Indeed Indus Travel should be covered for liability insurance of their own to include pandemics, *** Indus Travel should not rely on client credit cards & travel insurances to cover any losses initiated by them. Indus Travel must realize that cancellation or acceptance of any new dates/trips by the client would result in the client's personal credit cards/travel insurance not giving reimbursement of lost funds, since the client would then be the one breaching the contract if the client were to agree to any change. I would like ComplaintsBoard.com Vancouver to make contact with Indus Travel with a view to providing me with a full refund without penalties/fees, per the original contract. Indeed changing the contract would be considered *** and unethical. Looking forward to your earliest positive response.

Indus is an unscrupulous company. They make it very difficult, if not impossible, to post an honest, but unfavorable, review on their website. On our recent trip to South Africa and Victoria Falls they left us stranded at the airport in Johannesburg. No one was there to pick us up and no one answered the emergency phone numbers they gave us in case of a problem. When I emailed them about this (from the airport), they simply gave us the exact same information over again as if that would magically make our driver appear or make someone answer the phone. Then, they told us the name of the wrong (and completely closed) hotel for the first night of our trip so, after finding a taxi, we were left standing in an empty parking lot, in an unsafe city, at 1:00 a.m. We also signed up for one of their optional tours, which did not go everywhere that was advertised (but they later offered us a $22 credit for the missed portion). Now they keep putting us off and they will not post our honest review, which, by the way, also highlighted the great guides we had for a couple of the locations, Based on the inaccuracies in their itinerary, leaving us stranded with little concern and no assistance, and their refusal to post our honest review, I cannot recommend using Indus.
What a wonderful trip offered by Indus Travels! Hotels, food, tour plan, guides and customer service were superb. They also handled very well the COVID-19 entry requirements in a very professional way and we traveled safe without tension. Tour of lifetime!
