Instyler Bait & Switch + Faulty Product

DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT OR GIVE THIS CO. ANY OF YOUR BUSINESS!
Instyler telemarketers are "bait and switching" customers and then when you try to return this terrible product, they claim you're not telling the truth. This company is a scam! The telemarketer secures the sale with "bait and switch" offer, as they relentlessly try to upsell. (They got me to say yes to almost $200 worth of extras). The worst part is that I was told I could keep the 2nd one that they are sending for free, even if I was unsatisfied with the one I try. I asked why I would do that if I wasn't satisfied with the product, and they replied that Instyler is so committed to spreading the word about their products, that they'd want me to "pass it on" to a friend ...because it might work better for someone else. After all, she said, that's what I get for my trial fee.
In any event. I tried the product and didn't like it. Tried it again and again, thinking I was doing something wrong, and still didn't like what it was doing to my hair. When calling back to return I was relentlessly upsold AGAIN with other offers so they wouldn't lose me, (including knocking over $45 dollars off my bill!) -go figure that one!. After 15 minutes of pleading with me to keep it, I finally said THIS IS ENOUGH and told them I was done. They finally gave me a return number and instructions, which included returning BOTH instylers. I was so annoyed that I called back to speak to a supervisors when I recalled that wasn't "the deal" sold to me. The supervisor took absolutely NO responsibility and told me that he couldn't believe me, that I must not be telling the truth. When I told him I had no reason to make this up and that I wasn't calling to keep the product becuase I liked it; that I was calling on PRINCIPLE! He claimed I was in on some scam from a blog and told me to return both products today or I would never see my credit. I plan on reporting their company to as many agencies as I can so others are not taken advantage! DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT OR GIVE THIS CO. ANY OF YOUR BUSINESS!
PS: For whatever it is worth, the product they sent me also did not have the upgraded computer chip I paid extra for and it broke after only three uses/attempts.

These people from Instyler are crooks!

I bought their buy-one-get-one-free package and the super shine and style kit for $164.90 on June 3, 2010. Then 60 days later these insatiable thieves started to charge drain my money from my card for some unwanted hair products.

My credit card company immediately called me and I was told that Instyler would automatic sign up anyone who ordered from them, and this charge will "continue" forever if you don't catch it!

Do not buy from Instyler! Buy from other stores if you want the hair iron so badly. Once they have your credit card, your endless headache begins.

We were contacted by telephone whilst on vacation, asking to confirm our shipping address for the Instyler product. As we had ordered no such item, I told them to cancel the order and that I would be spiking the order with our credit card company.

Today, about a week later, we received the Instyler. I am tempted to send it back "Refused", but after reading these comments hereon and elsewhere, I think that I'll be contacting the Postal Inspector Office and taking that route.

This is the first time that anything like this has ever happened to us, in over thirty years of ordering by mail, phone and computer.

I was sitting here with my credit card out and ready to order after seeing an informercial. I just want to thank everyone who has posted here. I "bought it" hook, line, and sinker. Then I remembered "buyer beware" and decided to check it out. Without this sight I'd be out a great deal of money for a crappy product. THANK YOU

I loved the product so I ordered 2 more. I got a call from a third party company (I suppose) and they told me my instyler would be delivered and I told them I already got it. They proceeded to tell me that I was a "special" customer and I would be sent this special stuff like a gas card and charge my credit card $1.00 but after a month if I stayed with the program I would be charged $24.00 a month. I tried 3 times to tell them I didnt' want it and they pushed so hard that they told me that the minute I get it in the mail I could cancel it by calling the 800 number. I am a pushover to a point and rarely complain but I sincerely tried very hard to say I don't want it! They still insisted that all I had to do was cancel it as soon as I got this "stuff" in the mail. Now I have to watch for junk mail like a hawk to find it so I can cancel it at the first opportunity. I called the customer service line for instyler and talked to someone that sounded like a 17 year old boy that didn't have a clue what I was talking about. I emailed and left info in the comment section on the instyler site. I think the product is awesome but it's the greed involved in "unselling" that ruins this for me. I hope the ones I have last a long time because I just don't even want to give this company my information anymore.

The worse customer serivice I've ever seen in my 45 years of life! Try and call the company and was on hold for 95min! Now I have to cancel my card just to get them to stop!

Instyler credit card charged after returned

This is not a reputable company... It is a scam. The product did not even work. I called to get my return # and sent the item back within the 30 day time limit. They sent the product back to me and marked the box "wrong RMA #" along with a joke of a letter saying we are sorry for any inconvenience.
I had to call again and wait on hold for 30 minutes and talk to 3 people. Finally, they gave me a new RMA #. I sent it back again and have been billed for 134.97. I sent a letter a month ago demanding my money back and have not received it yet.
DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT~~

Instyler Fraudulant Advertisment

I ordered this product per Amanda on October 5th 2008, after not receiving the product for a month and a half, I called to cancel order. I was told I could not cancel for it was processing. I was charged $149.96 0n dec 11th but did not receive the product until December 30th. I returned to sender with out trying the product. The service I received cost me $102.00 in over draft fees and $11.48 in return receipt. I felt after the service, that I did not receive, I needed to have proof I returned product for a reimbursement of 149.96 to my acct, now I have to wait to until Jan 30th to call back, wait on hold to speak to Chris (Manager) who has been wonderful in helping me resolve this matter, to have him transfer me to Marissa which the first time I was disconnected, who is his manager and get my overdraft and return receipt cost returned due to fraudulant advertisememt.

Instyler charged my credit card after I told them not to

I placed an order on December 5, 2008 for the instyler product.. A couple of days later, I tried to track my order online via their website.. It came up saying they could not find my order, I then called the customer service number they gave and they said it would take 72 hours for the order to appear in their system. I waited 72 hours longer.. they still could not find my order.. I gave the Rep my info and my phone number and she told me her Supervisor would call me back .. I waited three days and then called the company back..I spoke with another Rep. and he told me " We found your order and it's being processed as we speak. I told him to cancel the order, he told me he couldn't because it was in process. I told him that there wouldn't be enough money on my card and it would be declined. I also told him not to run it through again if it was declined. Needless to say, a week later, I checked my credit card account and sure enough, they put it through..AGAIN.. So, back on the phone I went and I spoke to another REP. She told me that they put it through twice... I told her the whole story and I also told her that the other sales rep was supposed to put a note on my account NOT TO RESUBMIT...All she told me was that noone said anything about not resubmitting..Supposedly, the order has been shipped and was supposed to arrive at my house on the 24th of December by 4:30pm... Today is the 26th and still no product.. Aword of advise to all the people out there that watch those infomercials STOP.. CHANGE THE CHANNELL... I got screwed and I don't want it to happen to anyone else...

I am advocating for my sister, who is going through the same old..same old as the previous posts. What a scam! They claim she is three days past the date on which they could have issued a return number, which would be based on a non-existing tag with a number on it... even though calls were made before that and no one from their company ever called back, as they had said they would, and one number was busy continually for hours each day. Even if they ever "let her" make the return, they will keep her shipping and handling, as well as her having to pay for the return shipping, which we will have to get a receipt for, since otherwise, I am sure they will say it never arrived. She has burns all over her head and hands now, and sadly I am passing on the story to try to help other innocent buyers. STEER CLEAR OF THIS COMPANY AND PRODUCT.

I've talked the Denise in the product area and she kind of talked me into buying the products. She said they will not take my money until products are shipped. I called the next day and the rep said that my order is being processed and I can't stopped my order. This was March 16 I beleived that I made the order. Today is March 20th and I have one order out. My products is not shipped out yet and I want to stopped the order and can't get in touch with customer service, which thier time says 5:30 am Mon-Friday and I called before 7am and they said that thier office is closed and called back the normal business hours which she said from 5:30am to 5pm. They are full of it. The rep told me to refuse the package If I don't want it. If my products haven't been shipped yet why I can't cancel my order. I will have my account changed and they won't mess with my money. Stop calling these people of ordering. I will close my account soon as I get my things. They are liable to go into your account. InStyler as advertised on TV is a fraudulent business. The product was advertised for $14.99 for a trial period of 30 days with a full refund if satisfied. I ordered the product and they charged my credit card the sum of $149.96. The product is horrible and when I called the company, Tre Milano, I was told they would charge me $30.00 to return it. Instyler Order Processing

I placed an order online on Dec 2, which was confirmed with Order #776743. However, I made an error on the order so I called Dec 3, to correct the error and was told the order wasn't in the system yet, that it takes 24 hours. I called again Dec 4, told order not in system, takes 48 hours.
Called again Dec 5. still not in system, told it takes 72 hours. Called again Dec 6, still not in system, told they don't know why.

The Instyler was given to my daughter for her 17th Birthday. Nov. 23, 2009 and fell apart while she was useing it on January 27, 2010 Gee Wizz what a rip off. Customer Service is not very helpful... they don't care. They already have your money so in other words SCREWED Big Time! I would think they would rather keep a million happy customers That would order a new one every two years, for more profit, than screw people over and take there money and laugh in there face... Sad for me and VERY SAD for my daughter. I really wish they where a honest business. Paid alot for Instyler and would pay it again if IF it would last at least a year or longer... what happend to good ole' American Spirit !

This product seems like a piece of junk. I bought one and i am not happy with it. i cant seem to get anyone in customer service at Instyler to answer my calls and tell me how to get a refund. Does anyone else have one of these things? In the commercial it looks like it really works so easily.
