I enrolled in this school last fall. I really wanted to take their CADc course as there was not another one in the state of maine. First thing, I went in and they filled out a worksheet saying what I would need for financial aid and what I would get for financial aid in my posket while going to school. I agrees and signed the paperwork to start 3 weeks from that date. Two days before the class started I got a call stating they were not having the night class and that I would have to be int he day class, I told them no I signed up for the night class for a reason and that I would not be able to take thed day one due to babysitting issues, they asked me to come in and figure out something so i could take the day class. I came in the next day( mind you the class was to start the following day after that) and they told me there was no way to help with anything and if I could find a daycare, i told them i would see and made some calls and came back an hour later and told them i wasn't finding anything. they told em I had already signed the paperwork and I said that it was void due to it being at night and they brought out mt paperwork and had already taking my first half of Financial aid and said I would have to pay that back. I was so mad and did not know now what I know so i signed there paperwork that was dated 30 days before hand.
They told me I would get my first check for 1600 31 days after i started classses. I took out a personal loan to pay for daycare. 30 days later i went into the finincial aid office and they told em that no i would not get my first installment of money till half way through the course and then the other half when i was done with classes. Half way through i go to see them i get another story, that I would not get it till i started my pre clinical. I went when i started my pre clinical and got yet another story stating that I would not get half of it till I was half way through with my internship and the other after I finished it. Now at this point I have paid out over 600.00 a month for childcare and it has been almost 8 months, and I am broke.
So i leave there office so mad and start my preclinical it takes me 7 weeks to do it and I go to them and tell them i can not start my internship due to now having the money to pay childcare, i had spent my savings and was already paying off a loan from the beginning from child care, and that to start my internship with no financial help would make no sense and to have to wait till i was half way through and to work somewhere for 320 hours and not get paid and not get my financial aid either made no since. I asked for a LOA. They told me that I was denied a loa becuase there were ways for me to go around my financial hardship. I went online and stopped payments for financial aid to them and stopped school, two months later when they tried to get there next installment they were deniedso they contacted me with a copy of my LOA to sign and start back up in september. I signed it and went back in september when my kids were back in school and now they tell me I have to take the 7 week pre clinical all over and then i can start my internship. I am so mad at this school, they have done everything so backwards, illegal, and there financial aid dept. is a joke. they do not give you your money till they have been paid in full for schooling and have a credit on there account. Now you tell me, does it make sence to go to school for 12 months and not get your financial aid till you are done school? what is the point of getting the money?
Please do your work before you go this school or any other private for profit school. you may get burned, and if you do stand up for your self and do your homework on everything you are doing so you do not get burned like i did..

Agreed. I am currently enrolled in their LPN course in Kittery. The administration is a joke, the rampant cheating that happens in the school is a joke, and that's not bringing the questionable loan system they have into the equation. If I could do it again, I would NOT chose ICCI.

The Maine Board of nursing was called on the school. Additionally, 2 students were caught fist fighting in a patient's room, both students are still in attendance. Threatening letters were sent to instructors by people in the school. The content was severe enough that the police ere called. To top it off the school was put on lockdown due to an unstable man claiming to come to the school to kill himself. This school is not safe, organized, and shows a complete disregard for training safe nurses.

Everyone cheats and ppl who actually don't get screwed .. the tutor don't know there ### from there elbow . When I got to term two thru decided to tell me I own more money when I paid in full term three they changed the 80% on the competency to a 90% me and other students failed the exam cuz the tutor taught us wrong and the DON corrected the test and scorched us all we were basically set up for failure and I can't even graduate w my class now ... Wohoooo pick icci guys it's the BEST

Complainers will always find a way to rant! The truth is that there are hundreds of students graduating from ICCI every year and working in their field. School is what you make of it and so is your workplace. If you know cheating is happening in your class you have a responsibility to either speak with the person cheating or let the administration know. The school has put a lot of policies in place to help stop this but it only gets better when everyone works on it, including the students! This nursing school has changed my life! Nursing school is not easy no matter where you go, but the teachers really care about the students at ICCI and want them to be great nurses. Clinicals were great and I learned everything I needed to pass the NCLEX and I am now an LPN. So are hundreds of other ICCI graduates who worked hard and took responsibility for themselves! People who see themselves as victims don't make particularly good nurses anyway!

The response marked "GetRealAlready" on 5/29/14 is written by an employee of INTERCOAST INTERNATIONAL TRAINING, INC. dba InterCoast Colleges. I have found several of these "planted"
remarks on multiple complaint sites, pretending to be a student presenting a positive response. The
wording of the comment reflects some upper level education, but the content reveals a not-too-clever
thinker... 1) what student would care about or state (twice) that the school has "hundreds of students graduating every year?" None! 2) What student would know about, or care, or write that the "school has put a lot of policies in place?" None! 3) what student would care about, or write that "everyone should work on it, including the students" None! only an employee would! WHO THINKS THIS HYPE IS WRITTEN BY A STUDENT? Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooobody.!

The comment from "GetRealAlready" on 5/29/2014 is an InterCoast employee pretending to be a student posting a positive reply. I have seen this type of reply to negative comments about InterCoast on several other complaint boards. They mainly come from the company headquarters in southern California and are fairly well worded, but are not clever or well thought out. Really, Get Real Already, what student would know, or care, or write about "hundreds (sic) have graduated and are working"?.(twice in the same comment) NONE...What student would know, care, or write about "the school has put a lot of policies in place about cheating" ? NONE...What student would know, care about, or write that "everyone should work on it including the students"?... NONE. How many people think that "GetRealAlready" is really a student? Just how stupid do you really think ICC students are - - -
- - - - - Intellect is invisable to those who have none - - - - - -take your own advice and get real already.

You should get real already! No one could possibly mistake you for a real student from InterCoast College. You are an employee of the school - what student would EVER know about, care about or
even write (twice, no less in the same breath) that "hundreds of students have graduated from the school and are working in the field"?...nobody! What student would know about, care about or write about how
"the school has put a lot of policies in place (cheating)", and "everyone should work on it, including
students"? Who are you trying to kid? How stupid do you think the students are? Intelligence is invisible to those who have none. Why don't you take your own on-line name as advice, and get real already!

This school is a joke! That's what I'm dealing with right now. I have passed all my classes and now they calling me to the office to tell me that I have failed. I'm calling the board and I'm going to fight them on this. That's just ridiculous!

The school is a joke, presently applying to a A.S. program at Community college that I should have done in the beginning. They targeted low income towns in Mass knowing the state was paying the bill, more than half of the student body cheated and when someone tried to clean it up they fired her and called all the students and asked them all to come back. They sold off more that half the equipment and put us in two rooms at the end of the hallway half way through the program - still charging us full price. They fired all of our instructors never knew who we were going to have from day to day. Ms Brown is laughing all the way to the bank !
