The Company Italk cold called me beginning of 2017 and I have to say there were charming promising fast internet which caught my interest. I had been with TalkTalk for many years however internet again not very good. I decided to go with this company without looking them up BIG MSTAKE
The internet very poor and I did tell them about this and nothing happened. I did not receive a written contract which a company has to provide by law, I asked for itemised bill and I agreed to pay extra as I needed a record if certain calls for an on going medical claim for my sister, the only thing provided was a cost of the calls but no telephone numbers. This I also complained about but nothing happened. My fist account was higher than 8 expected with hidden costs however I allowed the amount to be taken by direct debit. I had called them and wanted to leave however they said I had agree to a 2 year contract and could not without paying over £400.00, I decided to speak with citizens advise who told me I was within my rights due to no contract been sent to me. I let them take a second payment due and the decided I needed to write to there head office which I did and they never answered my registered letter so decided it was time to get my solicitor involved. I was advised to wait until my 4th bill was due find out the amount ring the company and settle the bill by card over the phone and cancel my direct debit with my bank, then telephone Italk and tell them what you have done. My Solicitor also wrote a letter and had no reply.
We thought that would be the end of the matter and I returned to Talk Talk. However that was not the case they continued to call me on my land line text me on my mobile and email me. They continued to answer nothing kept telling me I would remove my Internet remember they were no longer the supplier of my internet. They then started fir months bombarding me with calls on my land line as many as 10 a day as well as calling my mobile when I banned the number they were calling on they used another and so it continued. I have a sister with special needs who is 72 and I am 70 I decided to report the company to the police who said was illegal to do this. Then they kept doing into my account and taking money some times £200 plus the dud this on about 6 occasions which each time my bank refunded. My bank then wrote to me and suggested I open a new bank account keeping my sorting code only, that stopped that however the calls continued with regard to my land line I now have Call Control which has stopped them calling but they continue calling my mobile and send texts and send emails. At one point along the way they said if I lay them £50 that would be the end of it but I was nit prepared to lay this awful company one penny.
Today I have received a Final Demand Letter from a company HGC Howard Gemini Clarke informing me that with costs and interest the total would increase to £581.32. My Solicitor has retired through illness and closed his practise so I will have to use another Solicitor.
How does a company like this survive ? I had a very successful Interior Design business for 40 years never needed to talk any one to court and was never taken my self.
It would be nice to hear you comments.

Dear Sir/ Madam I have a similar experience with italk they are chasing me for £401 for breaking their contract .My contract started live on the 8/06/2017 the internet was terrible I reported but nothing happened I cancelled within two weeks of the internet going live well within the 30 days cooling off period . I sent back there router it could have been faulty they never bothered testing the signal or the router . I called them serval times nothing. I was or thought I was on the unlimited fibre option i was paying £30.49 p/m they say I wasn't . but when I checked the booklet I received there was three prices No 1 was unlimited Broadband at £19.99 p/m Option 2 was unlimited fibre £30.49 p/m and the last one was unlimited superfast fibre at £35.49. So in my eyes if I was paying the £30.49 p/m I should have been on the option 2 they say I wasn't if I wanted the fibre it was going to cost extra cant remember hoe much it was but it was more expensive that BT my last supplier . And today I received a letter from HGC that unless I settle the debt they will take me to court bring it on. C W Booth
This is how they stay afloat... For as many of us refusing to be bullied and blackmailed into coughing up our hard earned cash, there are thousands like my neighbour who are being robbed of their money, with learning difficulties, lack self asteem and the warewithall to stick up for themselves and verbalise an argument or who to contact to deal with these scammers. I successfully did this on her behalf but she's only one person. People who get on phone lines on behalf of this company for a wage are just as bad in my view. Sub human to.consistently Rob people and not give a service !
After over a YEAR of HELL with these people, slow internet + crackly landline - the line failed ...we had no phone and just 2 meg of internet speed ...after buying credit for my mobile via the slow internet, I phoned them ...after a week they sent someone to fix it; - there was a fault, it was outside ...but he wrongfully recorded the job as a non-fault... - they tried billing me £150 for the job, - but I did not purchase the line ...it was THEIR Line... - anyway, I cancelled them totally... - now I just have hg clarke attempting to contact me SIX TIMES A DAY! ...I will NOT be paying them, - hope they try to bill me for 500 quid ...I will make them eat it!
Funny enough I was about to ring these solicitors to pay an outstanding debt that's turned into a ccj now but this debt goes back about 4 years I would say, I want it off my credit report so am I within my rights to offer a payment to shut them up or have to pay whatever it is that these people howard gemini Clark are going to expect or is it through the court that issued the ccj which I don't know which court it was
