Itasca 3m thinsalate boot itasca

I bought these boots at Bass pro shop last year at the end of the season. I've only used them a few times. I was by a bonfire and I noticed my boot was melting! I wasn't that close for this to have happened to a quality material. There were many other people around the same distance as myself and it only happened to me. I'ts hard to find a boot that fits me, so this is extremely upsetting. I would like to get an exchange if possible. Thanks

Itasca itasca boots are junk

I bought a pair of rubber boots, i've only worn them 6-7 times and the sole is coming off. I got them at tsc and they don't have any at this time to replace them with. I'm not going to buy anything else from your company and will tell as many people as I can about your poor quality product (I will post this on fb) if nothing is done by you about my boots.

Itasca ice breaker winter boot, mens

I found these in new, unused condition, during a recent move. Not sure if I actually bought them (Nor how much I may have spent, obviously); or, if they were a gift. I've literally only had them on for 15mins.in looking around online I noticed these boots are priced from $15 to as much as $60... For the same make & model. I also noticed that the same exact boot is sold under several 'brand names'. The only difference is the patch sewn to the tongue.in place of 'itasca', there is a different brand in it's stead. Even the 'thermo lite' and, 'thin insulation', below the brand name are exactly the same. Lacing/eyelets: same. Only a slight variation in the sole pattern, & bottom tread pattern. White tag on inside on tongues are identical to pics of the boots across all the brands. Reads: "stock#: 642057, name: ice breaker, size: — , man made materials, made in china".in new condition... Wearing boots around house; not even outside, yet; and the seams are already starting to split. I wonder if some sort of adhesive could be used along seams, to prevent further splitting. I may give 'em a couple coats of waterproof spray. Again, w/ the price ranging from $15 up to $60. I've barely used them and they're starting to fall apart. If you see a pair for $15, may be worth keeping by the door to run out in medium amounts of snow. However, if their over $20, i'd suggest you pass on 'em. If you do get them... Don't use them as your only, or regular/daily-wear boots. Even in the $30 to $50 range there are quite nice options.

Itasca Boots

After looking for the manufacture to lodge a formal complaint this is the only website I could find.Obviously this is not a reputable company whatsoever. These boots were purchased at Boscov's in Toms River N.J. for $70.00.The biggest waste of money I feel.I do not wear them everyday, more like maybe, once a week. They are very water-proof I can testify to, but two the eyelets have just ripped right out for no apparent reason.I feel they are very poorly constructed and if I was a working man and wore them everyday they surely would have given out after a month or so.For the price they cost me and the use I got out of them I find them to be a very, very poor choice of footwear and will be spreading the word.

Mine I bought in New Jersey too. One of the end caps of the "shoe laces" that wrap around the leg calf (the top of the boot that is) came of and apparently they are forced in under pressure by factory machines, and I can't get it back in. It was my second time wearing the boots and the missing end cap makes it look like an eyesore. RR in Jackson, NJ

Itasca leak and weather cracked rubber

I purchased a pair of Itasca "Swamp Walker" boots from Walmart in November of 2010 for hunting season. Nice looking boots, camo, 800g Thinsolate, adjustable straps on top. HOWEVER, within 3 days I noticed that the left boot was leaking a bit. I found where the leak was, right on the left side of the toe ridge cap. I returned the boots to Walmart. I exchanged them for a SECOND pair of the same boots. I used them throughout the winter trapping. This spring, I again began to get wet feet. I checked the boots over and discovered on the top of each foot, the rubber appeared to be weather cracked, and were now leaking. AGAIN, I returned to Walmart. This time I was told that this was the last exchange that I would be able to do. So, I am now on my THIRD pair of ITASCA Swamp Walkers. I contacted the company today at [protected] and spoke with a company Rep. They advised me that there was a full 1 year warranty on the boots, and that Walmart should have refunded my money...the first time!
In my opinion, the first pair of boots should not have leaked. The second pair were just rotten rubber. I am almost afraid to try the third pair. DO NOT BUY THESE BOOTS. They are poor quality and you are further ahead to buy a better quality boot to save the aggrivation of getting wet feet.

Products are different depending on the company. This company seems like they will directly reimburse WalMart for the boots. Other companies require you to send the defective product back to them. The clerk at WalMart was probably unaware of the policy of the manufacturer. Not uncommon when you pay people slave wages. Sorry about your experience. Thanks for the advice on the boots!

I bought itasca (its ### ###) boots in Vermont on a Christmas visit to relatives and the first day I wore them in the snow, my feet where soaking wet and freezing. Of course I didnt return them, being from Maryland and in the middle of a Christmas weekend when stores are closed. Pissed is an understatement. Call the BBB. This company has fraud written all over it.

We purchased a pair of boots for a four year old and he wore them for about 2 weeks and they began to leak. The sole was completely worn out on the heel letting in snow and water. Then we noticed that under the thin removable liner was only a waffled rubber, no insole, and our son was walking on a waffle like rubber heel with only a soft liner between his foot and the boot. The Brand Names Shoe Outlet in Niagara Falls Ontario refused to exchange or even discount anything on these shoes as it was over 30 days since the purchase. We bought a dfferent make of boot on the same day for our 6 year old . They both travel the same distances (by bus to the same school ) and his did not wear out like this. The quality of these boots was definitely inferior and I will NEVER go back to that store again.

Itasca fraud

At the end of December, 2008, I purchased a new pair of Itasca hiking boots from a local retailer. Within three weeks, the laces broke, and I replaced them.

A week later, one of the metal tags on the side that say "Waterproof" fell off, and the rivet ends fell into the arch of the show. The inner sole had to be cut to removed the rivet ends.

The out shell of the show soon began coming un-sewed. After six months of wearing these, the shoes have five holes on the outside of the shoes where the stitches have come apart and unraveled.

Does anyone know how to reach the makes of Itasca shoes? I want to write them a letter, but their identity is well concealed on the internet.

We bought these boots 3 weeks ago and the soles are already cracked open to where water can get in and also the tops are splitting apart. These boots should last more than 3 weeks. I think the company should either send a better pair of boots or refund the money. The place where we bought the boots will not give a refund or an exchange. THESE BOOTS ARE THE WORST BOOTS EVER!

Itasca not waterproof & falling apart

Less than two weeks ago, I purchased a pair of Itasca Mens Mountaineer Waterproof Boots - Stock# 809207. The problems are amazing:

The first day, the laces became untied and when I went to tie them I found that the lace fabric was totally frayed and unusable.

Then the laces that are used to close off the top of the boots self-destructed. There are plastic caps at the very end of each lace to avoid the situation where a lace could end up coming off the shoe with no hope of getting it back on. These caps came off almost immediately.

My favorite is the "Waterproof" claim. When I wear these boots, the inside bottom of the boots under the Thinsulate inner boots is always very moist, causing my socks to get wet. A wonderful feeling!

The only positive characteristic of these boots is that they are very slip-proof, even on ice.

I really can't believe the overall lack of quality. And they look so sturdy.
