I cannot believe McAfee Antivirus endorses this company and connects you with them for technical issues. They are of course in India, and your complaints are given to their "claims department", who will contact you in 7-8 business days to process your refund. I got on the phone and called my credit card company, reported the fraud, and closed the account before $179.00 was charged for nothing! The guy online did not fix my computer! Also calling iYogi back is difficult. Better copy down that 16 digit account ID before it flashes off your screen at the beginning of the service. You won't see it again, and of course, they can't locate your account.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
I was referred to them by PC Shield Deluxe when I complained I wanted to remove the PC Shield Deluxe as it had expired and I won't use it again. Iyogi spent one hour diddling around on my laptop, but trying to sell me their pkg for "protection". i said: i'll ck it out but right now, all I want is what you promised: get rid of the PC Shield Deluxe...more diddling, put me on hold for "minute", 10 minutes later i saw they did not know how to remove it either, used up nearly an hour's worth of my cell minutes. i disconnected and hung up. Don't call them for anything. martha
I signed up for a two year subscription after being informed there was over 8000 technicians. The first call was answered professionally but took a long time--over 3 hours. After that it took 5 hours to return my call and I had solved the issue myself. I would definitely NOT recommend iYogi and you can't get a refund if they solve even one problem!
I got the same reaction from PCSecurity Shield. After twice letting iYogi control my computer they had not resolved the PCSS issue (they had to escalate it to their Tech Experts) and after the first session ended I could not get on the Internet and had to restore my computer to an earlier date. Stuped me, I let them take over my computer the next day for another 3 hour session and at the end they still hadn't fixed the PCSS problem, and when I rebooted my PC I could not run any MS Office programs (Word, etc), nor I could I uninstall/reinstall the programs, and I could not use the restore function to go back a day or two. I finally deleted and reinstalled the hard drive operating system using my mirror image and my working files from an external hard drive. It appears PCSS and iYogi are partners and feed off each other. I installed AVG free, which I had used before, and it works just fine. If you are a home or small office user even with a wireless network, and you are running Vista or even better W7 google reviews of free virus software (I have been pleased with both AVG and Avest) and pick one. IE8 and any of the good free virus protection softwares combined take care of viruses, spyware, and all other problems.

On August 18, 2017 I was talked into buying the $169.99 annual unlimitedPC support for a year. I spent 4 hours that night speaking to a technician trying to get my laptop fixed. We had to stop after these 4 hours because the technician was having problems fixing my laptop. I finally had to ask him if we could finish the process the next day and he said yes. I called back the next evening and again I spent anothe 1 1/2 to 2 hrs waiting just to speak to someone. I finally spoke to a technician just to be be told that he had to transfer me to someone else so we could finish the process. To me they wasted alot of my time working on my laptop and not even get finished with it. I would like for the $169.99 be credited back to my credit card.
Thank You
I was told by the Geek Squad at Best Buy to use Iyogi computer service I thought it was free, after talking with them for 5 hours, they wanted 169.99 for a 1 yr subscrption. They took over my computer didnot fix the problem and after another 5 hours lost my internet and forwarded me to my internet service, they took off my virus service, kaspersky and lost connection. I waited for another 3 hours to get someone. They were then told to refund my money and they said there was a 60.00 disconnect fee, they didnt do anything
I want my money back and I will forward this to everyone I know and Best Buy has been told about this terrible service. Best Buy fixed what iyogi messed up and I want my money back for a service not done... Donot use these people
They are in India
Monday Septembert 5, it was from 7- 230 in the morning, then again on Tuesday September 6, 7-900 and then Tuesday afternoon from 330 till 0700. ID number [protected], I was not helped and as I said I had to carry the computer to Best Buy to fix the problem... There is no resolve
I want my money and do not need or want you services. I was not told at the time yall took my money $169.99 that there was a disconnect fee and after being on the phone Wednesday the 8 th for 40 minutes, someone answered the phone and advised me of the situation. I want my money back and that is the end of it. I was told Today Sept 10th that it would take up to 48 hours, It took you approximately 12 to take my money, it shouldnt take but 12 to but it back.
DO NOT CALL DELL AND EXPECT TO SPEAK TO ANYONE IN THE UNITED STATES FOR SUPPORT, YOU END UP ON THE IYOGI WEBSITE AND TALKING TO SOMEONE YOU CAN HARDLY UNDERSTAND. I CALLED ABOUT A PROBLEM WITH MY EXCEL ON A LABTOP. AFTER 3 CALLS OVER ABOUT 6 HOURS, I FIGURED OUT HOW TO FIX IT MYSELF BUT NOW I HAD MORE PROBLEMS AND THE TECH TOLD ME MY HARD DRIVE WAS SHOT (NOT TRUE). I WAS TOLD THEY WOULD NOT CHARGE MY CREDIT CARD ( I HAD TO GIVE THEM CREDIT CARD INFORMATION AT THE BEGINNING OF THE CALL) BUT DELL MIGHT. I WAITED A FEW DAYS TO SEE IF MY CARD WAS CHARGED AND SURE ENOUGH IT WAS BY IYOGI NOT DELL. I HAVE CONTACTED MY CREDIT CARD CO. TO DISPUTE THE CHARGE. I TRIED TO CALL DELL AND AFTER CALLING EVERY PHONE NUMBER I COULD FIND I NEVER ONCE GOT TO TALK TO ANYONE IN THE UNITED STATES. ON EACH CALL I WOULD ASK TO SPEAK TO SOMEONE IN THE UNITED STATES AND I WOULD BE TRANSFERRED TO ANOTHER FORIEGN COUNTRY TO SOMEONE I STILL COULD NOT UNDERSTAND. I HAVE TWO DELL COMPUTERS AND I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER ONE. IF I HAVE ANOTHER PROBLEM I WILL NOT CALL DELL I WILL JUST THROW IT AWAY IF I CAN'T FIX IT. I AM VERY UPSET ABOUT THIS WHOLE THING AND I BLAME DELL.
ON'T DO IT! save your money get your tech support from someone else. I call iyogi to clean up my computer and run a full virus scan and they crashed my computer started taking out programs and installing new ones. They lost important information that was in my computer and after over a dozen techs and more then 44 hours on the phone in 9 days I had had it ! They lied to me gave me the wrong call back numbers, one being a porn line, not so funny. I asked for a address to write to and they said they do not have one that they do not except mail. I have every name and phone conversation logged, they can't lie about what they did. I even had techs tell me the first 2 techs made some bad mistakes but they could fix them, Well they could not They made a conference call to Dell and we had to order all the start up discs to re start the computer. The discs came in 3 days but the techs at iyogi could not get the computer started. they told me Dell sent the wrong ones and I would have to call Dell myself to reorder new ones. I called Dell and told then the problem, They said I had all I needed and would I give them a chance to fix it, I agreed ed. It took the Dell tech 30 min to get me back on line and about 2 hours to down load every thing else.
THANK YOU DELL ! It coast me $129.00, so I ask iyogi for a full refund for all 3 of the computers I have been paying for they said yes. 2 days latter they have 10 reasons that i cant get all my money back. Not one reason applies to me! They have very poor support and due nothing but take your time and money! TO the tech support that called us stupid Americas GO TO HELL! THOSE Americans keep you working, WE should stop outsourcing our work to these ungrateful ###! You should also stop immigrating to this Most wonderful country. Find work with out Americans I bet you can't! You should bend over and kiss the ### of every red blooded American because you couldn't put food on your table with out us !

I called Mcafee yesterday & ended up talking with iyogi so I was suspicious from the start. The sales person spent a lot of time with me on the phone going through my computer and showing me everything that was wrong. I confess I was sold so we started talking about payment options. They had the strangest checkout process I had ever encountered. I thought I had better check these guys out, so I asked if they could just send me a contract. While the technician was getting an answer, I ended the computer session and hung up and they called back again and again. Today I'm reading on your site that I'm a lucky man. I was going to pay $300 for one year!
I had a question about whether or not my wireless router had to be rebooted if I plugged in another ethernet cable to connect my DVR. I got on line and looked up Linksys and got a 1-877 number. I called and asked the technician if the router would recognize the new ethernet or did I have to reboot it. He asked me to get on my computer and access the internet. Then gave me a code to put in my address bar. I asked why he needed remote access to my computer and he replied that was how to fix the router. After 1 1/2 hours, I had lost ability to access my internet wirelessly. my router wasnt working and I never got my question answered. Then he said, "I will give you linksys number" OMG! I thought I was talking to linksys all along. I had been talking to a tech from iyogi. I had to go 2 days without wireless access and a lot of time on the phone getting everything fixed. A female tech from AT&T walked me through the whole process--without taking remote access control over my computer. What a hassle. And now I am afraid that tech hacked into my computer and got my personal information, birth dates, passwords and soc sec numbers. wish me luck.

I did the same thing for the exact same $169.99. Twice, iYogi had me relinquishthe entire contents of my computer so they could "fix the problem." Now, anyone in the world could have that information. I can't believe Best Buy is pushing this product too.
iYogi owes me $169.99. They made changes to my computer that I cannot undo and that I did not want.
I'm embarassed to say it, but I too was scamed by this company. Upgraded from free AVAST to 'latest' antivirus software. Was connected to someone (in India?) very difficult to understand. Was told they would 'take care' of' my desk top computer and my laptop for $169.99 per year. A reasonable fee. I just got off the phone with a 'supervisor' to a supervisor (probably another tech guy). They originally 'captured' my desktop computer and my wireless laptop. However, when I called in tonight for help with my laptop, I was told their policy was not to 'protect' two computers for $169.99. I sat, for a LONG time, and WATCHED them 'capture' my desktop AND my Laptop! Now they are saying they have no record of capturing my laptop. Unbelievable! Makes me very nervous that I let someone capture my computer and they don't even have record of it. Basically, the 'supervisor' said they probably made a mistake and will take it into 'consideration'. Don't get 'stuck' like I did. Use a virus protector other than AVAST, since they have hired these people to be their 'tech support', and definetly don't use iYogi for tech support!
I read reviews left by Americans and found them ridiculous! First of all, Americans are dumb enough to not fix their own problems. Secondly, they want free support whereas they don't think twice before queuing up for hours for iphone or some such fad to spend money. Americans themselves won't work for free but want to get work done for free from Indians. They come up with computer issues never imagined off {eg. broken coffee tray which is actually a DVD player} and would blame HP, Dell, Acer and what not if there is an issue completely unrelated to their computer manufacturers and swear that they would never buy a Dell or whatever in life again - what a sacrifice. They are paranoid of everything in this world. Forget it not guys...only because you get cheap labor in countries like India that you are able to save money.
I contacted Iyogi after searching interent for help with networking concerning my router. After paying a 1 year membership for computer help and antivrus. They assisted me in fixing my network after 2 hours. The folowing day the computer they set up crashed and the other computer had a virus from inbox. I contacted them and they said my membership was only good for my laptop and they could not assist me in my other pc that they had worked on with out purchasing another membership. In order to use my computer I had to restore to a date before they worked on my computer!
After posting I was contacted by customer services at IYogi . They ensured me this was not from something they did and help me get my lap top working properly. iyogi was very helpful and friendly! GooD Karma
I had purchased a one year subscription for their service, trusting that they knew what they were doing.
My laptop was running slow, so I contacted them via online. She asked for two phone numbers and said that if we were disconnected, she would call back right away. First of all the tech did things I could have done myself, such as running a scan. Then, because she did not know what she was doing, she deleted essential Windows boot files without me be aware of what she was doing. Then, she said, turn off your computer and then turn it back on. Well guess what, the computer would not boot up.
SHE DID NOT CALL ME BACK!
I had to call them back myself. Everything was tried, such as booting in safe mode -- no go. . . . nothing worked. It just bounced back and forth from the Windows logo to the Toshiba logo -- back and forth back and forth.
Their solution was that I should purchase a Windows XP Home Edition CD,
load it myself, and then call them back!
No kidding. They caused the problem, but I should pay for it. Nowadays, computers come with these operating systems preloaded so I did not have the Windows XP disc -- only the restore disc. Well you know what would happen if I ran that -- all of my own data would have been erased as it formats the hard drive.
Now, they call me every day and happily say "how is your computer"? This person not having a clue as to the situation.
I have talked with them over and over and explained what happened to my laptop because of their tech's incompetence, and yet they refuse to come up with any other solution than for me to by that CD. Now, my subscription has ended on 8/27, so they call me even more to see if I want to renew it! I told them that an acceptable solution would be for them to send me the Windows XP Home edition CD and I could reinstall the program so that I do not lose all of my data and they say -- No, we can't do that. So then I ask them to refund my fee because of their poor service, I trusted them and they ruined my laptop, but of course, they won't do that either. They hold no responsibility in their minds.
This is the honest to God truth, they called me at least 7 times today alone.
They call me constantly because they want more money from me. While I was on the phone with one tech from iYogi, my caller ID showed that another person from iYogi was calling me at the same time! I am writing this to warn you consumers out there. They very well might screw up your computer too if you let them. I am about to call the phone company to find out if there is a way to block their calls because they are driving me nuts.
They got me to pay 300 dollars (yes I am a fool) and my computer has NEVER worked since...over 20 hours on calls "promising" to get it corrected...I guess all I can do is learn from the scam jobs during desperate times to keep IT needs flowing for work.
I've recently signed up, and then canceled a one year agreement with iYogi . The whole process was somewhat of a nightmare and I'd only wished I done my research before signing on with them for the year. In the end, I did get a refund, but what it took to get there is amazing and unforgivable.
Last week, I received a virus in the middle of writing a final term paper. Earlier in the day I had let a friend of mine use the machine to watch the awards on tv. He was unable to find a good site to watch it on, but he did find a site that filled my computer with loads of crap. The resulting viruses and 'malware' as it was explained, was the reason why I lost my paper that evening.
I iYogi showed up in some search results, and eager to get something done, I contacted them on the website to process payment and get my paper back and computer cleaned. After 3 failed attempts to run my card, they finally got it to work on a friends visa. The guy connects to the machine, for 2 hours (mind you, this is at 12am.) After 2 hours of troubleshooting and trying to remove the virus, I say goodnight to Muhammad and go in search of another service.
I ran some google searches and found secure remote support. They had a nifty lil box that I could talk to the technician through right on their website. The representative was able to give me an exact figure of what is was to cast to optimize my computer and said he could do it from their office and I wouldn't need to take it anywhere. I was able to pay with my credit card on their site (which iYogi couldn't do!) which made it easy for me. The technician then started his process and in less than an hour I was surprised at how fast and clean my computer was again. It was like it was new all over again. I had forgot how fast it was. The technician, then recovered my word document and was able to get all of it except that last page that I had written. The technician thanked me for my business upon completion. This was all at 2am! He sold me the service for about 80 bucks, and an external hard drive which arrived last week (to back up all my school work.)
The end result, was me filing a BBB complaint against iYogi, finally getting my money back, and giving my business to a company like secure remote support. They actually earn it, and do a good job. Do your research before you buy. No one wants to get stuck in my situation, not fun.
i call ### on this one
I called Norton re a broken cd containing Norton Ghost 14.0 which I never installed but for which I had Product Key. I got connected to Iyogi in India who talked me into letting him 'take over' my computer. He kept me on the phone for 45 or more minutes. All I wanted was Norton Ghost 14.0 which I had already paid for. I never got a download or any assistance with my problem. However, immediately after hanging up with Iyogi I got an SMS message on my mobile phone from Yahoo which said someone just tried to reset my yahoo password by answering my secret questions. I got a similar email from yahoo also.
Yikes! I then Restored my computer to an earlier date, and ran NOD32, Super Antispyware and Spybot. I also changed my yahoo password. I will also check bank and other accounts to make sure they haven't somehow gained access to them.
Does anyone know if Restore will undo any software Iyogi may have inserted into my computer?
I made this complaint but I need to inform everyone that iyogi since contacted me and assured me it wasn't their people who attempted to reset my password. Moreover, the iyogi rep helped me get a copy of Norton Ghost, which was the original reason I called them. This iyogi rep was very helpful so I am willing to give them the benefit of the doubt.

I made an earlier complaint about what I thought was iyogi trying to reset my yahoo password after I called them about Norton Ghost 14.0 but I need to inform everyone that iyogi since contacted me and assured me it wasn't their people who attempted to reset my password. Moreover, the iyogi rep helped me get a copy of Norton Ghost, which was the original reason I called them. This iyogi rep was very helpful so I am willing to give them the benefit of the doubt.
I also clicked on the link on complaintsboard webpage that says "Edit your complaint" (because I wanted to edit my original complaint about Iyogi to 'upgrade' it from dissatisfied to satisfied) but the complaintsboard website would not take me to my original message to edit it. So I am now complaining about complaintsboard!

iyogi is fradulent company i had worked for 3 months in this company Customers used to search for dell, hp, mcafee, norton etc they get the iyogi website its qute common they say "i called hp how come its iyogi " there are certain customer who didnt even know they are talking to iyogi technician our company didnt allow us to disclose the name of the they are only interested in sales most of the victims were old people
I have NO complaint with iYogi...I've had iYogi for almost a year and have had the BEST computer service EVER with them. Their customer service is EXCEPTIONAL 24/7 and my computer runs like clock work. Even when I ordered the wrong thing and needed a refund..."NO PROBLEM"..LOL. The only regret I have is not finding iYogi sooner. The year before finding iYogi my computer servicing bills were worse than car repairs. My computer is no longer a liability. I actually enjoy it! GOOD KARMA!
a lot of linksys customers already called and thought we charge 169.99.. but we are not call linksys

YOu HAVE to be associated with IYOGI, becaue nobody I have heard of who has had them has anything good to say about them.
You are the ONLY person I have ever seen or heard of who didn't hate IYOGI!
I said one of the application is not working. They are not even concerned in the problem. The tech support immediately wants to remote access to your desktop and will put a virus into your system. Then they sell you the cleaner and optimization package for $169.00. If you don't buy it, you have the virus in your system.
They run a scan system that will show the customer that their computer is of real threat and need to buy this package to save their system. REAL RIP OFF. Please have FCC look into this. No US address. Everything operated from India so they can hide out.
This is ###ing insane! What Iyogi do is ruin the customer's device and then sell support so that it will get fixed. Then the customer will have no other choice. THE F! YOU Indians!

I had recently the same thing happen to me. Called HP with a problem for with not being able to print from the Icon in word (top of page or task bar ) Rep said that was a software problem, not the brand new HP"s printer problem. Assured me that neither Micsoft or Apple or HP could fix problem ! Previous printer did not have this problem at all. I was cohered to pay for tech support ? They all ready had my computer in there control remotely ( stupid of me HUH ) after many minutes and there curious nature for complimenting me on my desktop photos they assured me the problem was fixed but a new tech had found other problems with my computer and wanted to sell me 3 year contract in excess of 400$ at which I did not want or thought I needed. Upon a couple of days kicking my self in the A S S I tried to call HP and had very little success reaching a USA based tech. Have any of you called for support from HP No techs in USA ? When I purchased this printer it was all apple pie, now it is all curry n beans What a RIP OFF still on phone waiting for Rep ANYWHERE --- MAYBE IN THE CLOUD 43 minutes and still no techs well I guess tomorrow
I had a business arrangement with IYOGI and had a 2 year contract for service. Near the end of my contract, I had problems and I called the company for service. The company continued to convince me to renew my contract at which time I declined because they had doubled the 2year contract price to a whopping $449.99. This was to include 4 computers and I only have one laptop. After much argument, they reluctantly took care of cleaning up my computer and I thought I was done. 3 days later, the charge showed up on my card. I did not see it until the next card statement and I called the card company immediately. I-yogi provided information to the card company that supported my claim I did have a contract that was due to expire and they serviced my computer 3 days prior to them charging my card. Nothing documenting I agreed to renewing my contract 2 months early. I had not agreed to renew my contract. However, my card company states they are able to still charge my card and still is expecting me to pay this charge. The entire company is fraudulent. BEWARE! I am working on talking with Federal Bureau of Consumer Protection today!
Today it appeared that my monitor foe my mac mini was not working, so I called iYogi since they came up when I did a search for service on the brand of monitor. After a few instructions, the iYogi rep diagnosed (correctly) that it was not the monitor but my computer. He said that they would send somebody to my home and he needed my address. I explained that I would now prefer to take it to my local apple store. He started laying on the hard sell pretty heavy. He said Apple was going to be very expensive (I have applecare, so it's free), and he asked my why wouldn't I want someone to fix it right in my home. I should have told him it wasn't any of his business, but I said I prefer not to have strangers come into the house. He replied, "we don't hire strangers." LOL, what the heck? His manner was very pushy and put me off from the beginning. He never talked about how they charge and implied they were practically free. I hung up with him still trying to convince me to give my address so someone would show up at my door and called Apple, who guided me through fixing the problem over the phone. I didn't give iYogi a chance to overcharge me or deliver bad service, but they really were creepy. Felt like a scam from the time he told me (not asked if I wanted a home visit, but, TOLD me) they were sending someone to my home. Don't call them.
